The Opportunity of Using Wind to Generate Power as a Renewable Energy:"Case o...IJERA Editor
The demand ofsustainable energy is increased daily by expanding our cities and creating new cities and suburbswith huge towers besides increasing in population, moreover the environment and human life is threatening by the pollutions resulted from energy generation. For this reason the researchersattracted todevelop renewable energy and explore its large benefits and unit capacity. Wind power is one of the clean renewable energy resources. Therefore the importance of implementing this resource in Kuwait draws our attention to make this research to emphasis on the technical and economic aspects due to acceptable environmental conditions. Whereas, in some areas of the world, such as in Japan, has some geographical and electrical restrictions such as power fluctuating for land wind generation. And the introductionof large amount of wind power generation tends to be extremely difficult and even impossible in some location. This research is aimed to concentrate on the visibility of utilizing the wind energy as complementary source for the existing steam and gas turbine power stations in Kuwait, furthermore point out the economical perspectives that will guide us to take the right decision. The location of wind farms is very important in this aspect where we cannot build such projects inside the cities between buildings besides meeting the minimum requirements for economic generation. The study prove to us that even at a location which is almost close to the inhabitants buildings ( Kuwait airport ) can get accepted results the historical data was collected from the weather station at internet. The implementation of wind turbine farms is foreseen to be economic in generation for long run and encouragestepping up toward putting the infrastructure design. Furthermoreit is an opportunity for creating new job vacancies.

The utilization of conventional sources of energy releases harmful pollutants to the environment causing global warming and acid rain. For that reason, it becomes necessary to use a non-depletable, sustainable and eco-friendly renewable energy as a mean of producing electricity. Malaysia is tropical country rich in resources beneficial in electricity generation as it is in equatorial region therefore it has an abundance of solar irradiance of average annually. In addition, Malaysia’s demand in electricity is increasing to 124,677 GWh by 2020. Therefore, the electricity generation from renewable sources in Malaysia is anticipated to grow in the future alongside the government endorsement due to its clean, eco-friendly and free source of energy which can highly reduce the dependency on oil and gas that emits harmful pollutants to the environment. This paper gives a comprehensive review on the renewable projects and researches in Malaysia, challenges that affect popularity of renewable energy in Malaysia and available and successful renewable energy system in Malaysia.
Sustainability of the Installed Battery-less PV Panel Systems at Two Governme...IJAEMSJORNAL
One of the most prominent energy alternatives available today is the solar energy. Innovation has made this more affordable and reachable to the public both in the resident and commercial areas. Solar energy was harnessed in two buildings from two different organizations through the installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels in the two locales. However, these solar panel systems needed to be assessed empirically. Also, during the initial operation, several technical problems led the researcher to use the result of the assessment procedures as basis for a proposed operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting manual for the users. Engineering management intervened in the study through the tools which were helpful in organizing the activities done in the course of the research. The PV solar panels were assessed in a quantitative approach. The energy and cost generated after the installation of the systems were compared to the energy and cost prior to the installation through the analysis of percentage difference and t-test. The efficiency and return on investment (ROI) of the PV solar panels were also assessed. The contents of the manual was based on the survey checklist distributed among the four (4) respondents from the locales and the interview checklist conducted by the researcher on the installer of the panel systems. In summary, no significant difference was observed between the energy and cost generated before and after the installation of the PV solar panels using t-test. But the percentage difference assessment reflected a significant difference in the energy and cost generated before and after the installation. Specifically, there was a positive decrease in the energy cost of the electricity generation in the two locales. Furthermore, the return on investment of the PV systems were discovered to be less than the expected life span which means that the projected payback could be harvested within the utilization of the PV solar panels. Lastly, a manual was made at the end of the study addressing the common issues and problems encountered by the users and how to troubleshoot them and operate the system properly. This manual was made for the sole purposeof maximizing the utilization of the solar PV panels and promoting sustainability.

Construction of Solar Panel Laying System based on Genetic AlgorithmDr. Amarjeet Singh
Solar power generation is an important energy
resource in most countries. It plays an important role in
meeting energy demand, improving energy structure and
reducing environmental pollution. The main carrier of solar
power generation is solar panels, but the utilization efficiency
of most existing solar cells is low, which causes serious waste
of solar energy. In response to this phenomenon, we propose a
Solar Panel Laying System(SPLS) based on genetic
algorithm(GA) to construct solar panels, which solves four
problems: the determination of the number of battery
components, the layout of the panels, the selection of the
inverter and the connection of the inverter. In the SPLS ,we
introduce an improved genetic algorithm and multi-objective
optimization solution. Under the double premise that the total
amount of solar photovoltaic power generation is as large as
possible and the cost per unit of power generation is as small
as possible, the quantitative solution of the laying system is
realized.

The Solar Tracking – Vertical Axis Wind Turbine System is not only cheap and efficient, but also eco-friendly. This turbine generate electricity using both solar and wind energy. So, for uninterrupted electricity generation, we have two powerful and inexhaustible sources. The system has two basic Components-one for electricity generation through solar energy and another for wind generation. Our project focuses on the use of air on highway divider with the help vertical axis wind turbine. When the vehicles passed on the highway, it produces a considerable amount of air due to its speed. The blade of the vertical axis wind turbine strikes tangentially and makes the turbine spin in just one direction. The solar system is used to enhance the overall efficiency of solar panel by keeping them aligned along with the sun position, solar tracking system is used nowadays. The electrical output of the vertical axis turbine and the solar system is stored in battery. This accumulated energy that can be used further for street use, lighting, toll gates etc.

Hydrogen storage for micro-grid application: a framework for ranking fuel ce...IJECEIAES
To securely address energy shortage and various environmental issues attributed to fossil fuel, the adoption of renewable energy is growing across the globe. However, wind and solar which form the bulk of the emerging renewable energy for micro-grid applications are intermittent and need energy storage device for backup. Due to its environmentally friendly nature, the use of hydrogen as storage mechanism is now being explored for micro-grid applications. However, due to the various technical criteria attributed to various fuel cell (FC) technologies used for hydrogen production, selecting the most suitable alternative remains a challenge. This study uses evaluation based on distance from average solution, a multicriteria decision making tool to rank FC technologies that can be used to produce of hydrogen energy storage in micro-grid applications. The analysis was based on 4 FC technologies and 6 technical criteria. The results of the study show that the most preferred FC technology for micro-grid application is the polymeric electrolyte membrane while the least preferred is molten carbonate FC. It is expected that future analysis would explore the inclusion of socio-economic criteria in the evaluation of the most preferred FC technology for micro-grid application.

Jochem 2002 Steps towards a 2000 Watt-Society Ex Summmorosini1952
Jochem E. et al (2002) Steps towards a 2000 Watt-Society. Developing a White Paper on Research & Development of Energy-Efficient Technologies - Executive Summary - 19 p.
Executive summary
In the coming decades, the threat and consequences of
climate change and of the re-concentration of crude oil
production in the Near East will compel industrialised nations
to make much more efficient use of energy. R&D that helps
realise energy efficiency potentials is likely to be regarded as
important in scientific, entrepreneurial, and political realms.
Demand for highly energy-efficient technologies will rise
steeply, and firms that can provide them will prosper. The
identification of energy-efficient technologies and related
energy conservation potentials undertaken in this pre-study is
a first step toward designing a R&D strategy that is consistent
with the need to evolve towards a 2000 Watt per capita society.
Reaching this level by 2050 implies reducing primary energy
use from 1200 to 460 PJ per year, despite a projected 65%
economic expansion.

processes and technologies
Editors
Editors: Rafael Luque and Juan A. Melero.
or
Biodiesel is one of the main biofuels capable of substituting fossil fuel usage
in compression ignition vehicles, and is used in a variety of fuel blends
worldwide. First generation biodiesel has been used in national markets for
some time, with fuel quality standards in place for this purpose. There remain,
however, several restrictions to a sustainable and long term market
development, which is influenced by many factors, including food vs. fuel
pressures. The development of advanced biodiesel, aimed at more sustainable
and effective feedstock utilization along with improved processing routes for
increasing production efficiency and fuel quality, represents the future for this
industry and for the continued and increasing use of biodiesel fuels in
transportation.
