In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the minimization of usage of energy in the sensor nodes is a key task. Three salient functions are performed by WSNs’ sensor nodes namely data sensing, transmitting and relaying. Routing technique is one of the methods to enhance the sensor nodes battery lifetime. Energy optimization is done by using one of the heuristic routing methods for data sensing and transmission. To enhance the energy optimization mainly concentrated on data relaying. In this work stochastic hill climbing is adapted. The proposed solution for data relaying utilizes geographical routing and mobile sink technique. The sink collects the data from cluster heads and movement of the sink is routed by stochastic hill climbing. Experimentation is done on the network simulator 2 Platform. The existing routing techniques like threshold sensitive energy efficient sensor network, energy-efficient low duty cycle, and adaptive clustering protocol are compared with the obtained results of chosen algorithm. The proposed work shows promising results with respect to lifetime, average energy of nodes and packet delivery ratio.

Energy Efficient Multipath Data Fusion Technique for Wireless Sensor NetworksIDES Editor
In wireless sensor networks (WSN), data fusion
should be energy efficient. But, determining the optimal
number of aggregators in an energy efficient manner is a
challenging task. Moreover, the existing data fusion
techniques mostly use the same path for transmitting
aggregated data to the sink which reduces the nodes lifetime.
In this paper, we propose a technique which combines energy
efficiency and multiple path selection for data fusion in WSN.
The network is partitioned into various clusters and the node
with highest residual energy is selected as the cluster head.
The sink computes multiple paths to each cluster head for
data transmission. The distributed source coding and the
lifting scheme wavelet transform are used for compressing
the data at the CH. During each round of transmission, the
path is changed in a round robin manner, to conserve the
energy. This process is repeated for each cluster. From our
simulation results we show that this data fusion technique
has less energy consumption with increased packet delivery
ratio, when compared with the existing schemes.
Survey on Energy-Efficient Routing Algorithms for Underwater Wireless Sensor ...Editor IJCATR
In underwater environment, for retrieval of information the routing mechanism is used. In routing mechanism there are three to four types of nodes are used, one is sink node which is deployed on the water surface and can collect the information, courier/super/AUV or dolphin powerful nodes are deployed in the middle of the water for forwarding the packets, ordinary nodes are also forwarder nodes which can be deployed from bottom to surface of the water and source nodes are deployed at the seabed which can extract the valuable information from the bottom of the sea. In underwater environment the battery power of the nodes is limited and that power can be enhanced through better selection of the routing algorithm. A Review Paper on Power Consumption Improvements in WSNIJERA Editor
Wireless Sensor network (WSN) is a network of low-cost, low-power, multifunctional, small
size sensor nodes which are densely deployed inside a physical environment to collect, process and transmit the
information to sink node. As Sensor nodes are generally battery-powered, it is necessary to balance between
power consumption and energy storage capacity to sustain sensor node's operational life. Therefore one of the
important challenge in WSN is to improve power consumption efficiently to prolong network lifetime by
minimizing the amount of data transmissions throughout the network and maximizing node's low power
residence time. In this paper, two energy optimization techniques, Cluster-Based energy efficient routing
(CBER) scheme and extension to IEEE 802.15.4 standard by dynamic rate adaption and control for energy
reduction (DRACER) protocol for wireless sensor networks has been reviewed. CBER technique increases
network lifetime by reducing Hot Spot problem and end-to-end energy consumption using multi-hop wireless
routing whereas DRACER protocol reduces network latency and average power consumption by minimizing
network overhead using automatic data rate selection process. So, both of these techniques, if utilized in
combination, it is possible to achieve very high energy efficiency in WSN

In the recent years, wireless sensor network (WSN) have witnessed increased interest in information gathering in applications such as combat field reconnaissance, security surveillance, environmental monitoring, patient health monitoring and so on. Thus, there is a need for scalable and energy-efficient routing, data gathering and aggregation protocols in these WSN environments. Various hierarchical
clustering Protocols have been proposed by authors for WSN to improve system stability, lifetime, and energy efficiency. Clustering involves grouping nodes into disjoint and non-overlapping clusters. In this paper we motivate the need for clustering. Secondly, we present general classification of published clustering schemes. Thirdly, we review some existing clustering algorithms proposed for WSNs; highlighting their objectives, features, and so on. Finally, we develop an Average Energy (AvE) prediction algorithm using exponential decay function y=Ae-ax+B. We then combine this function with the
probabilistic distributed LEACH of algorithm to determine suitable CHs. The combined algorithm was implemented on MATLAB simulator and tested for homogenous network. The result gathered from the simulation shows that the extended algorithm in homogenous network mode is able to achieve 39%
stability, 11% Average energy Dissipation per round and 40% Lifespan better than LEACH-Homo. This paper proposes a new direction in improving energy efficiency of WSN routing protocol, which is desirable in some critical WSN applications. .
Maximizing Lifetime of Homogeneous Wireless Sensor Network through Energy Eff...CSCJournals
The objective of this paper is to develop a mechanism to increase the lifetime of homogeneous wireless sensor networks (WSNs) through minimizing long range communication, efficient data delivery and energy balancing. Energy efficiency is a very important issue for sensor nodes which affects the lifetime of sensor networks. To achieve energy balancing and maximizing network lifetime we divided the whole network into different clusters. In cluster based architecture, the role of aggregator node is very crucial because of extra processing and long range communication. Once the aggregator node becomes non functional, it affects the whole cluster. We introduced a candidate cluster head node on the basis of node density. We proposed a modified cluster based WSN architecture by introducing a server node (SN) that is rich in terms of resources. This server node (SN) takes the responsibility of transmitting data to the base station over longer distances from the cluster head. We proposed cluster head selection algorithm based on residual energy, distance, reliability and degree of mobility. The proposed method can save overall energy consumption and extend the lifetime of the sensor network and also addresses robustness against even/uneven node deployment.
QoS Framework for a Multi-stack based Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Network IJECEIAES
Wireless sensor nodes consist of a collection of sensor nodes with constrained resources in terms of processing power and battery energy. Wireless sensors networks are used increasingly in many industrial and consumer applications. Sensors detect events and send via multi hop routing to the sink node for processing the event. The routing path is established through proactive or reactive routing protocols. To improve the performance of the Wireless Sensor Networks, multi stack architecture is addressed. But the multi stack architecture has many problems with respect to life time, routing loop and QOS. In this work we propose a solution to address all these three problems of life time, routing loop and QOS in case of multi stack architecture.
Optimized Projected Strategy for Enhancement of WSN Using Genetic AlgorithmsIJMER
This paper put forward a new strategy for selecting the most favorable cluster head in Stable
Election Protocol (SEP). The planned approach selects a node as cluster head if it has the maximum
energy among all the available nodes in that particular cluster. It considers diverse nodes and divides
nodes among normal, transitional and advance nodes. To handle the heterogeneity of the nodes, different
optimized probability density functions are selected. First node dead time explain the network stability
period and last node dead explain the overall network lifetime. The main pressure is to increase the time
when first node dies and also when last node dies. The projected strategy is designed and implemented in
the Matlab using mathematics toolbox. The projected algorithm is also compared with the some prominent
protocols like leach, E-LEACH, SEP and extended SEP
Energy efficient clustering in heterogeneousIJCNCJournal
Cluster head election is a key technique used to reduce energy consumption and enhancing the throughput
of wireless sensor networks. In this paper, a new energy efficient clustering (E2C) protocol for
heterogeneous wireless sensor networks is proposed. Cluster head is elected based on the predicted
residual energy of sensors, optimal probability of a sensor to become a cluster head, and its degree of
connectivity as the parameters. The probability threshold to compete for the role of cluster head is derived.
The probability threshold has been extended for multi-levels energy heterogeneity in the network. The
proposed E2C protocol is simulated in MATLAB. Results obtained in the simulationshowthat performance
of the proposed E2Cprotocol is betterthan stable election protocol (SEP), and distributed energy efficient
clustering (DEEC) protocol in terms of energy consumption, throughput, and network lifetime.
BOTTLENECK DETECTION ALGORITHM TO ENHANCE LIFETIME OF WSNijngnjournal
In recent years, a wireless sensor network is gaining much more importance due to its immense
contribution in numerous applications. Deployment of sensor nodes that would reduce computation,
minimize cost and gaining high degree of network connectivity is an challenging task. Random deployment
of sensor nodes causes the wireless sensor networks to face topological weaknesses such as communication
bottlenecks, network partitions and sensing holes. These problems lead to uneven energy utilization,
reduction in reliability of network and reduction in network lifetime. Bottleneck detection algorithm is
proposed to identify bottleneck and minimal bottleneck zones in network. Additional sensor node
deployment strategy is used in bottleneck detection algorithm to extend network lifetime. Random
additional sensor node deployment and Targeted additional sensor node deployment are proposed to
enhance network lifetime. Deployment strategies are compared with respect to network parameters such as
throughput, packet delivery fraction and network lifetime.
Energy Efficient Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Surveyijsrd.com
The use of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is anticipated to bring lot of changes in data gathering, processing and dissemination for different environments and applications. However, a WSN is a power constrained system, since nodes run on limited power batteries which shorten its lifespan. Prolonging the network lifetime depends on efficient management of sensing node energy resource. Energy consumption is therefore one of the most crucial design issues in WSN. Hierarchical routing protocols are best known in regard to energy efficiency. By using a clustering technique hierarchical routing protocols greatly minimize energy consumed in collecting and disseminating data. To prolong the lifetime of the sensor nodes, designing efficient routing protocols is critical. In this paper, we have discussed various energy efficient data aggregation protocols for sensor networks.
Scheduling different types of packets, such as
real-time and non-real-time data packets, at sensor nodes with
resource constraints in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is of
vital importance to reduce sensors’ energy consumptions and endto-end
data transmission delays. Most of the existing packetscheduling
mechanisms of WSN use First Come First Served
(FCFS), non pre-emptive priority and pre-emptive priority
scheduling algorithms. These algorithms incur a high processing
overhead and long end-to-end data transmission delay due to the
FCFS concept, starvation of high priority real-time data packets
due to the transmission of a large data packet in non pre-emptive
priority scheduling, starvation of non-real-time data packets due
to the probable continuous arrival of real-time data in preemptive
priority scheduling, and improper allocation of data
packets to queues in multilevel queue scheduling algorithms.
Moreover, these algorithms are not dynamic to the changing
requirements of WSN applications since their scheduling policies
are predetermined.
In the Advanced Multilevel Priority packet scheduling
scheme, each node except those at the last level has three levels of
priority queues. According to the priority of the packet and
availability of the queue, node will schedule the packet for
transmission. Due to separated queue availability, packet
transmission delay is reduced. Due to reduction in packet
transmission delay, node can goes into sleep mode as soon as
possible. And Expired packets are deleted at the particular node
at itself before reaching the base station, so that processing
burden on the node is reduced. Thus, energy of the node is saved.

Energy sink-holes avoidance method based on fuzzy system in wireless sensor ...IJECEIAES
The existence of a mobile sink for gathering data significantly extends wireless sensor networks (WSNs) lifetime. In recent years, a variety of efficient rendezvous points-based sink mobility approaches has been proposed for avoiding the energy sink-holes problem nearby the sink, diminishing buffer overflow of sensors, and reducing the data latency. Nevertheless, lots of research has been carried out to sort out the energy holes problem using controllable-based sink mobility methods. However, further developments can be demonstrated and achieved on such type of mobility management system. In this paper, a well-rounded strategy involving an energy-efficient routing protocol along with a controllablebased sink mobility method is proposed to extirpate the energy sink-holes problem. This paper fused the fuzzy A-star as a routing protocol for mitigating the energy consumption during data forwarding along with a novel sink mobility method which adopted a grid partitioning system and fuzzy system that takes account of the average residual energy, sensors density, average traffic load, and sources angles to detect the optimal next location of the mobile sink. By utilizing diverse performance metrics, the empirical analysis of our proposed work showed an outstanding result as compared with fuzzy A-star protocol in the case of a static sink.
Optimal Coverage Path Planningin a Wireless Sensor Network for Intelligent Tr...IJCNCJournal
With the enhancement of the intelligent and communication technology, an intelligent transportation plays a vital role to facilitate an essential service to many people, allowing them to travel quickly and conveniently from place to place. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are well-known for their ability to detect physical significant barriers due to their diverse movement, self-organizing capabilities, and the integration of this mobile node on the intelligent transportation system to gather data in WSN contexts is becoming more and more popular as these vehicles proliferate. Although these mobile devices might enhance network performance, however it is difficult to design a suitable transportation path with the limited energy resources with network connectivity. To solve this problem, we have proposed a novel itinerary planning schema data gatherer (IPS-DG) model. Furthermore, we use the path planning module (PPM) which finds the transportation path to travel the shortest distance. We have compared our results under different aspect such as life span, energy consumption, and path length with Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), Multi-Hop Weighted Revenue (MWR), Single-Hop Data Gathering Procedure (SHDGP). Our model outperforms in terms of energy usage, shortest path, and longest life span of with LEACH, MWR, SHDGP routing protocols.

clustering Protocols have been proposed by authors for WSN to improve system stability, lifetime, and energy efficiency.

An energy aware scheme for layered chain in underwater wireless sensor networ...IJECEIAES
Extending the network lifetime is a very challenging problem that needs to be taken into account during routing data in wireless sensor networks in general and particularly in underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSN). For this purpose, the present paper proposes a multilayer chain based on genetic algorithm routing (MCGA) for routing data from nodes to the sink. This algorithm consists to create a limited number of local chains constructed by using genetic algorithm in order to obtain the shortest path between nodes; furthermore, a leader node (LN) is elected in each chain followed by constructing a global chain containing LNs. The selection of the LN in the closest chain to the sink is as follows: Initially, the closest node to sink is elected LN in this latter because all nodes have initially the same energy value; then the future selection of the LN is based on the residual energy of the nodes. LNs in the other chains are selected based on the proximity to the previous LNs. Data transmission is performed in two steps: intra-chain transmission and inter-chain transmission. Furthermore, MCGA is simulated for different scenarios of mobility and density of nodes in the networks. The performance evaluation of the proposed technique shows a considerable reduction in terms of energy consumption and network lifespan.

COVERAGE OPTIMIZED AND TIME EFFICIENT LOCAL SEARCH BETWEENNESS ROUTING FOR HE...ijcsa
Wireless Sensor Networks has been widely used for monitoring and control applications in our daily life
due to its appealing characteristic like low cost, power efficient, easy to implement in many areas such as
war zone, medical monitoring optimization and so on. However, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) requires
a new routing algorithm for health monitoring. In this paper, an efficient routing model called Local
Search and Enhanced Betweenness Routing (LS-EBR) in WSN to improve routing efficiency by increasing
sensor nodes coverage and minimizing the time for routing is presented. The LS-EBR model in WSN for
health monitoring uses enhanced betweenness routing that measures energy consumption of the
neighboring nodes in a local search manner. First, a novel Local Search model that does not require
global information about the entire network and in turn divert routing from sensor nodes that are more
frequently used is used. The aim is to reduce the time for routing. Second, an Enhanced Betweenness
Routing model that not only considers routing overhead but also considers the remaining energy of sensor
node into account to ensure higher number of sensor nodes to be monitored, thus achieving much higher
coverage is designed. Finally, working together with the above Local Search and Enhanced Betweenness
Routing by applying Enhanced Betweenness Routing algorithm, reduces the average energy consumed.
Simulation results showed that the proposed routing model has advantages over opportunistic routing with
respect to coverage and improving routing efficiency by reducing time for routing in wireless sensor
networks.

Smart parking is common in contemporary cities. These smart parking lots are outfitted mostly with wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which are used to detect, monitor, and collect data on the availability status of all existing parking spaces in a given area. Sensors make up WSN, which may gather, process, and transmit informations to the sink. However, the power and
communication limitations of the sensors have an effect on the performance and quality of the WSNs. The decrease in the battery and the energy of the
nodes causes a decrease in the life of the nodes and also of the entire WSN network. In this article, we present a routing protocol that implements an
efficient and robust algorithm allowing the creation of clusters so that the base station can receive data from the entire WSN network. This protocol
adopts a reliable and efficient algorithm allowing to minimize the energy dissipation of the sensors and to increase the lifetime of the WSN. In
comparison to alternative parking lot management protocols already in use,
the simulation results of the proposed protocol are effective and robust in terms of power consumption, data transmission reliability, and WSN network longevity.
AN OPTIMIZED WEIGHT BASED CLUSTERING ALGORITHM IN HETEROGENEOUS WIRELESS SENS...cscpconf
The last few years have seen an increased interest in the potential use of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in various fields like disastermanagementbattle field surveillance, and border security surveillance. In such applications, a large number of sensor nodes are deployed, which are often unattended and work autonomously. The process of dividing the network into interconnected substructures is called clustering and the interconnected substructures are called clusters. The cluster head (CH) of each cluster act as a coordinator within the substructure. Each CH acts as a temporary base station within its zone or cluster. It also communicates with other CHs. Clustering is a key technique used to extend the lifetime of a sensor network by reducing energy consumption. It can also increase network scalability. Researchers in all fields of wireless sensor network believe that nodes are homogeneous, but
some nodes may be of different characteristics to prolong the lifetime of a WSN and its reliability. We have proposed an algorithm for better cluster head selection based on weights for different parameter that influence on energy consumption which includes distance from base station as a new parameter to reduce number of transmissions and reduce energy consumption by sensor nodes. Finally proposed algorithm compared with the WCA, IWCA algorithm in terms of number of clusters and energy consumption.
In recent years, applications of wireless sensor networks have evolved in many areas such as target
tracking, environmental monitoring, military and medical applications. Wireless sensor network
continuously collect and send data through sensor nodes from a specific region to a base station. But, data
redundancy due to neighbouring sensors consumes energy, compromising the network lifetime. In order to
improve the network lifetime, a novel cluster based local route search method, called, Greedy Cluster-

timer in order to participate cluster head selection process with maximum neighbour nodes and minimum
distance between the source and base station. GCR constructs dynamic routing improving the rate of
network lifetime through Mass Proportion value. Also, GCR uses a greedy route finding strategy for
balancing energy consumption. Experimental results show that GCR achieves significant energy savings

VHFRP: Virtual Hexagonal Frame Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor NetworkIJCNCJournal
As physical and digital worlds become increasingly intertwined, wireless sensor networks are becoming an indispensable technology. A mobile sink may be required for some applications in the sensor field, where incomplete and/or delayed data delivery can lead to inappropriate conclusions. Therefore, latency and packet delivery ratios must be of high quality. In most existing schemes, mobile sinks are used to extend network lifetimes. By partitioning the sensor field into k equal sized frames, the proposed scheme creates a virtual hexagonal structure. Each frame header (FH) is linked together through the creation of a virtual backbone network. Frame headers are assigned to nodes near the centre of each frame. The virtual backbone network enables data collection from members of the frame and delivers it to the mobile sink. The proposed Virtual Hexagonal Frame Routing Protocol (VHFRP) improves throughput by 25%, energy consumption by 30% and delay by 9% as compared with static sink scenario.

Voltage and frequency control of microgrid in presence of micro-turbine inter...IJECEIAES
The active and reactive load changes have a significant impact on voltage
and frequency. In this paper, in order to stabilize the microgrid (MG) against
load variations in islanding mode, the active and reactive power of all
distributed generators (DGs), including energy storage (battery), diesel
generator, and micro-turbine, are controlled. The micro-turbine generator is
connected to MG through a three-phase to three-phase matrix converter, and
the droop control method is applied for controlling the voltage and
frequency of MG. In addition, a method is introduced for voltage and
frequency control of micro-turbines in the transition state from gridconnected mode to islanding mode. A novel switching strategy of the matrix
converter is used for converting the high-frequency output voltage of the
micro-turbine to the grid-side frequency of the utility system. Moreover,
using the switching strategy, the low-order harmonics in the output current
and voltage are not produced, and consequently, the size of the output filter
would be reduced. In fact, the suggested control strategy is load-independent
and has no frequency conversion restrictions. The proposed approach for
voltage and frequency regulation demonstrates exceptional performance and
favorable response across various load alteration scenarios. The suggested
strategy is examined in several scenarios in the MG test systems, and the
simulation results are addressed.

Use of analytical hierarchy process for selecting and prioritizing islanding ...IJECEIAES
One of the problems that are associated to power systems is islanding
condition, which must be rapidly and properly detected to prevent any
negative consequences on the system's protection, stability, and security.
This paper offers a thorough overview of several islanding detection
strategies, which are divided into two categories: classic approaches,
including local and remote approaches, and modern techniques, including
techniques based on signal processing and computational intelligence.
Additionally, each approach is compared and assessed based on several
factors, including implementation costs, non-detected zones, declining
power quality, and response times using the analytical hierarchy process
(AHP). The multi-criteria decision-making analysis shows that the overall
weight of passive methods (24.7%), active methods (7.8%), hybrid methods
(5.6%), remote methods (14.5%), signal processing-based methods (26.6%),
and computational intelligent-based methods (20.8%) based on the
comparison of all criteria together. Thus, it can be seen from the total weight
that hybrid approaches are the least suitable to be chosen, while signal
processing-based methods are the most appropriate islanding detection
method to be selected and implemented in power system with respect to the
aforementioned factors. Using Expert Choice software, the proposed
hierarchy model is studied and examined.

Adaptive synchronous sliding control for a robot manipulator based on neural ...IJECEIAES
Robot manipulators have become important equipment in production lines, medical fields, and transportation. Improving the quality of trajectory tracking for
robot hands is always an attractive topic in the research community. This is a
challenging problem because robot manipulators are complex nonlinear systems
and are often subject to fluctuations in loads and external disturbances. This
article proposes an adaptive synchronous sliding control scheme to improve trajectory tracking performance for a robot manipulator. The proposed controller
ensures that the positions of the joints track the desired trajectory, synchronize
the errors, and significantly reduces chattering. First, the synchronous tracking
errors and synchronous sliding surfaces are presented. Second, the synchronous
tracking error dynamics are determined. Third, a robust adaptive control law is
designed, the unknown components of the model are estimated online by the neural network, and the parameters of the switching elements are selected by fuzzy
logic. The built algorithm ensures that the tracking and approximation errors
are ultimately uniformly bounded (UUB). Finally, the effectiveness of the constructed algorithm is demonstrated through simulation and experimental results.
Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed controller is effective with small synchronous tracking errors, and the chattering phenomenon is
significantly reduced.
Remote field-programmable gate array laboratory for signal acquisition and de...IJECEIAES
A remote laboratory utilizing field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technologies enhances students’ learning experience anywhere and anytime in embedded system design. Existing remote laboratories prioritize hardware access and visual feedback for observing board behavior after programming, neglecting comprehensive debugging tools to resolve errors that require internal signal acquisition. This paper proposes a novel remote embeddedsystem design approach targeting FPGA technologies that are fully interactive via a web-based platform. Our solution provides FPGA board access and debugging capabilities beyond the visual feedback provided by existing remote laboratories. We implemented a lab module that allows users to seamlessly incorporate into their FPGA design. The module minimizes hardware resource utilization while enabling the acquisition of a large number of data samples from the signal during the experiments by adaptively compressing the signal prior to data transmission. The results demonstrate an average compression ratio of 2.90 across three benchmark signals, indicating efficient signal acquisition and effective debugging and analysis. This method allows users to acquire more data samples than conventional methods. The proposed lab allows students to remotely test and debug their designs, bridging the gap between theory and practice in embedded system design.

Efficiently identifying and resolving code smells enhances software project quality. This paper presents a novel solution, utilizing automated machine learning (AutoML) techniques, to detect code smells and apply move method refactoring. By evaluating code metrics before and after refactoring, we assessed its impact on coupling, complexity, and cohesion. Key contributions of this research include a unique dataset for code smell classification and the development of models using AutoGluon for optimal performance. Furthermore, the study identifies the top 20 influential features in classifying feature envy, a well-known code smell, stemming from excessive reliance on external classes. We also explored how move method refactoring addresses feature envy, revealing reduced coupling and complexity, and improved cohesion, ultimately enhancing code quality. In summary, this research offers an empirical, data-driven approach, integrating AutoML and move method refactoring to optimize software project quality. Insights gained shed light on the benefits of refactoring on code quality and the significance of specific features in detecting feature envy. Future research can expand to explore additional refactoring techniques and a broader range of code metrics, advancing software engineering practices and standards.
Smart monitoring technique for solar cell systems using internet of things ba...IJECEIAES
Rapidly and remotely monitoring and receiving the solar cell systems status parameters, solar irradiance, temperature, and humidity, are critical issues in enhancement their efficiency. Hence, in the present article an improved smart prototype of internet of things (IoT) technique based on embedded system through NodeMCU ESP8266 (ESP-12E) was carried out experimentally. Three different regions at Egypt; Luxor, Cairo, and El-Beheira cities were chosen to study their solar irradiance profile, temperature, and humidity by the proposed IoT system. The monitoring data of solar irradiance, temperature, and humidity were live visualized directly by Ubidots through hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) protocol. The measured solar power radiation in Luxor, Cairo, and El-Beheira ranged between 216-1000, 245-958, and 187-692 W/m 2 respectively during the solar day. The accuracy and rapidity of obtaining monitoring results using the proposed IoT system made it a strong candidate for application in monitoring solar cell systems. On the other hand, the obtained solar power radiation results of the three considered regions strongly candidate Luxor and Cairo as suitable places to build up a solar cells system station rather than El-Beheira.
An efficient security framework for intrusion detection and prevention in int...IJECEIAES
Over the past few years, the internet of things (IoT) has advanced to connect billions of smart devices to improve quality of life. However, anomalies or malicious intrusions pose several security loopholes, leading to performance degradation and threat to data security in IoT operations. Thereby, IoT security systems must keep an eye on and restrict unwanted events from occurring in the IoT network. Recently, various technical solutions based on machine learning (ML) models have been derived towards identifying and restricting unwanted events in IoT. However, most ML-based approaches are prone to miss-classification due to inappropriate feature selection. Additionally, most ML approaches applied to intrusion detection and prevention consider supervised learning, which requires a large amount of labeled data to be trained. Consequently, such complex datasets are impossible to source in a large network like IoT. To address this problem, this proposed study introduces an efficient learning mechanism to strengthen the IoT security aspects. The proposed algorithm incorporates supervised and unsupervised approaches to improve the learning models for intrusion detection and mitigation. Compared with the related works, the experimental outcome shows that the model performs well in a benchmark dataset. It accomplishes an improved detection accuracy of approximately 99.21%.

This research is developing an incubator system that integrates the internet of things and artificial intelligence to improve care for premature babies. The system workflow starts with sensors that collect data from the incubator. Then, the data is sent in real-time to the internet of things (IoT) broker eclipse mosquito using the message queue telemetry transport (MQTT) protocol version 5.0. After that, the data is stored in a database for analysis using the long short-term memory network (LSTM) method and displayed in a web application using an application programming interface (API) service. Furthermore, the experimental results produce as many as 2,880 rows of data stored in the database. The correlation coefficient between the target attribute and other attributes ranges from 0.23 to 0.48. Next, several experiments were conducted to evaluate the model-predicted value on the test data. The best results are obtained using a two-layer LSTM configuration model, each with 60 neurons and a lookback setting 6. This model produces an R 2 value of 0.934, with a root mean square error (RMSE) value of 0.015 and a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.008. In addition, the R 2 value was also evaluated for each attribute used as input, with a result of values between 0.590 and 0.845.

A trust based secure access control using authentication mechanism for intero...IJECEIAES
The internet of things (IoT) is a revolutionary innovation in many aspects of our society including interactions, financial activity, and global security such as the military and battlefield internet. Due to the limited energy and processing capacity of network devices, security, energy consumption, compatibility, and device heterogeneity are the long-term IoT problems. As a result, energy and security are critical for data transmission across edge and IoT networks. Existing IoT interoperability techniques need more computation time, have unreliable authentication mechanisms that break easily, lose data easily, and have low confidentiality. In this paper, a key agreement protocol-based authentication mechanism for IoT devices is offered as a solution to this issue. This system makes use of information exchange, which must be secured to prevent access by unauthorized users. Using a compact contiki/cooja simulator, the performance and design of the suggested framework are validated. The simulation findings are evaluated based on detection of malicious nodes after 60 minutes of simulation. The suggested trust method, which is based on privacy access control, reduced packet loss ratio to 0.32%, consumed 0.39% power, and had the greatest average residual energy of 0.99 mJoules at 10 nodes.
Fuzzy linear programming with the intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy numbersIJECEIAES
In real world applications, data are subject to ambiguity due to several factors; fuzzy sets and fuzzy numbers propose a great tool to model such ambiguity. In case of hesitation, the complement of a membership value in fuzzy numbers can be different from the non-membership value, in which case we can model using intuitionistic fuzzy numbers as they provide flexibility by defining both a membership and a non-membership functions. In this article, we consider the intuitionistic fuzzy linear programming problem with intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy numbers, which is a generalization of the previous polygonal fuzzy numbers found in the literature. We present a modification of the simplex method that can be used to solve any general intuitionistic fuzzy linear programming problem after approximating the problem by an intuitionistic polygonal fuzzy number with n edges. This method is given in a simple tableau formulation, and then applied on numerical examples for clarity.

Seizure stage detection of epileptic seizure using convolutional neural networksIJECEIAES
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), seventy million individuals worldwide suffer from epilepsy, a neurological disorder. While electroencephalography (EEG) is crucial for diagnosing epilepsy and monitoring the brain activity of epilepsy patients, it requires a specialist to examine all EEG recordings to find epileptic behavior. This procedure needs an experienced doctor, and a precise epilepsy diagnosis is crucial for appropriate treatment. To identify epileptic seizures, this study employed a convolutional neural network (CNN) based on raw scalp EEG signals to discriminate between preictal, ictal, postictal, and interictal segments. The possibility of these characteristics is explored by examining how well timedomain signals work in the detection of epileptic signals using intracranial Freiburg Hospital (FH), scalp Children's Hospital Boston-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (CHB-MIT) databases, and Temple University Hospital (TUH) EEG. To test the viability of this approach, two types of experiments were carried out. Firstly, binary class classification (preictal, ictal, postictal each versus interictal) and four-class classification (interictal versus preictal versus ictal versus postictal). The average accuracy for stage detection using CHB-MIT database was 84.4%, while the Freiburg database's time-domain signals had an accuracy of 79.7% and the highest accuracy of 94.02% for classification in the TUH EEG database when comparing interictal stage to preictal stage.
Analysis of driving style using self-organizing maps to analyze driver behaviorIJECEIAES
Modern life is strongly associated with the use of cars, but the increase in acceleration speeds and their maneuverability leads to a dangerous driving style for some drivers. In these conditions, the development of a method that allows you to track the behavior of the driver is relevant. The article provides an overview of existing methods and models for assessing the functioning of motor vehicles and driver behavior. Based on this, a combined algorithm for recognizing driving style is proposed. To do this, a set of input data was formed, including 20 descriptive features: About the environment, the driver's behavior and the characteristics of the functioning of the car, collected using OBD II. The generated data set is sent to the Kohonen network, where clustering is performed according to driving style and degree of danger. Getting the driving characteristics into a particular cluster allows you to switch to the private indicators of an individual driver and considering individual driving characteristics. The application of the method allows you to identify potentially dangerous driving styles that can prevent accidents.
Hyperspectral object classification using hybrid spectral-spatial fusion and ...IJECEIAES
Because of its spectral-spatial and temporal resolution of greater areas, hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has found widespread application in the field of object classification. The HSI is typically used to accurately determine an object's physical characteristics as well as to locate related objects with appropriate spectral fingerprints. As a result, the HSI has been extensively applied to object identification in several fields, including surveillance, agricultural monitoring, environmental research, and precision agriculture. However, because of their enormous size, objects require a lot of time to classify; for this reason, both spectral and spatial feature fusion have been completed. The existing classification strategy leads to increased misclassification, and the feature fusion method is unable to preserve semantic object inherent features; This study addresses the research difficulties by introducing a hybrid spectral-spatial fusion (HSSF) technique to minimize feature size while maintaining object intrinsic qualities; Lastly, a soft-margins kernel is proposed for multi-layer deep support vector machine (MLDSVM) to reduce misclassification. The standard Indian pines dataset is used for the experiment, and the outcome demonstrates that the HSSF-MLDSVM model performs substantially better in terms of accuracy and Kappa coefficient.

The programmable microcontroller is included in control components and uses to run the code for controlling
the communication components and the sensors.
On the transmission rate, sensing rate, and relay times, the sensor nodes’ lifetime or longevity is
depended. To reduce energy consumption in data relaying geographical routing solution guided by relay score
is proposed. Geographical routing ensures to find shortest path for broadcasting of data to the sink.
But the relay times could be even more reduced with usage of mobile sink. In this work mobile sink technique
is used which further reduces data relay rate compared to earlier research work. Mobile sink moves around
the sensor area and collect packets. The mobile sink movement is guided by an iterative local search
algorithm i.e. Stochastic Hill Climbing is used. But in most of the works on mobile sink, movement of mobile
sink is fixed and sensors have to adapt their routing based on mobile sink movement. In this work, deviation is
made from this approach are based on sensor sensing rate, transmission rate the mobile sink movement is

2. RELATED WORKS
In [4], the author has been proposed a new protocol known as Equalized Cluster Head Election
Routing Protocol (ECHERP). By using the Guassian elimination algorithm, the modeling of a network is
considered as a linear system by ECHERP. For improving the lifetime of a network, the nodes’ combination
which can be selected as cluster head are calculated by this protocol. In multi hops WSNs, an optimization
model is presented in [5] for management of a network. For the backup nodes and routes, the algorithm doesn’t
have been applied as the network is in the static condition but it is left out for saving the energy based on
ON-OFF cycles. More energy can be saved by these cycles that are taking more time for reactivation of
the path to the target than the existing algorithms that can remain the aliving of alternative paths.
In [6], a protocol of equally-weighted multiple least loaded path routing (EMLR) is demonstrated.
For promoting the self-adaptability to the dynamics of a network, a localized routing is employed by EMLR
for achieving the scalability. By using energy-aware aggregated metric, energy efficiency is achieved. In [7],
an algorithm of a new link aware and energy efficient routing for selection of next hop node with efficiency
for the transmission of packets. Two groups are divided in the packet based on the proposed approach that
involves low and high priority packets. A node is selected that has the least amount of delay to the next node
and the hop counts with lowest number to the sink for high priority packets. Whereas for the packets with low
preference, a node is chosen that includes the lowest path loss and is nearer to the sink.
In [8], the author was proposed a routing scheme of Integrated Location Service and Routing (ILSR)
with the use of geographic routing protocol. Before or after a link breakage and when a link is created,
the location of sink is updated to neighboring sensors. In [9], the issues of maximization of lifetime under
the environments of multiple mobile sinks are discussed by the author. Here, a novel heuristic method with
three-phases is implemented that contains determination of a high-quality trajectory for each mobile sink,
computing the time profile of sojourn at each potential sojourn location, and finding out the actual time of
sojourn at each location of sojourn. In [10], an artificial neural network with the use of robust and
energy-efficient routing scheme for WSNs known as ELDC is proposed by authors. For making the network
adative to any type of environment and more reliable, the training of network on huge data sets that contains
almost all scenarios is done in this method.
In [11], a new energy efficient protocol is called as threshold sensitive energy efficient sensor network
(TEEN) protocol is introduced by authors for re-activation of networks. For critical applications, TEEN is
applied well and it is also implemented with efficiency in terms of response time and energy conservation.
In [12], the context of mobile sink is proposed by author for solving the energy-hole problem. In [13], a novel
hierarchical approach termed as distributed energy efficient adaptive clustering protocol with data gathering
(DEACP) is presented. The distance is utilized that is among the cluster-heads in this method for achieving
a WSN with well distribution of suitable clusters of particular sizes. In [14-16], mobile sink-based routing
protocol solutions are demonstrated for wireless sensor networks. The load on a fixed set of nodes in a network
is reduced by the mobile sink and the load is distributed among various sets of sensor nodes according to its
current location. From the regions in which human intervention is impossible, the reliable data collection is
ensured by the mobile sink.

3. PROBLEM DEFINITION
The WSN is contained N nodes in which an initial node with different priority levels P completely is
assigened that have a residual energy of E. The location of deployment’s sensitivity is relied by the priority
level. According to its energy E and priority P, the designing of nodes of sensor network should be done with
the speed of sensing of data in the initial step. Through the multi hop routing process, the sensed data is needed
to be sent to the BS. The sensor network’s lifetime is demonstrated based on the operational time where
the initial node is died in the sensor network. Without disturbing the data collection, the target of the solution
is to prolong the lifetime of a network.

The transmission and sampling frequency with respect to lifetime is measured and plotted as shown
in Figure 1 [17]. Based on the results, it is observed that improve in both transmission and sampling frequency
causes decrease in lifetime of sensor nodes. In Figure 2, the transmitter power effect on lifetime is illustrated.
The lifetime is reduced by increasing in transmission power but not in terms of exponential way. However,
the lifetime is affected in an exponential form by changing in the transmission rate and sampling frequency.
Figure 1. Influence of transmission and sampling
on network lifetime
Figure 2. Influence of transmission power on
network lifetime
To increase the sensor network’s lifetime, the parameters for optimization are described below based
on the observation.
- Data sensing rate of node (DS)
- Data transmission rate of node (DT)
- Data relay times of node (DR)
In the node’s Data sensing rate, sampling frequency is replicated. In the relay rate and data
transmission rate, the reflection of transmission rate is done. When these three factors can be reduced,
the network’s lifetime is improved.
The current work focuses on reducing data relay time. Here Data relay times was reduced using
geographical routing based on relay score, still life time is affected when all high priority nodes are on single
routing path and geographical routing will not be able to reduce the energy drain. So, a mobile sink is used in
the proposed solution to avoid such problems [18]. In the Hill Climbing method, the optimal flow depends up
on the number of nodes. The residual energy ‘E’ is increased with the increasing of number of nodes ‘N” and
this leads to decreasing the battery performance and the sensors life span. The proposed routing solution is
based on guiding the path of sink in such a way to reduce the effective hop count of routing. By reducing
the effective hop count, the energy consumption rate is decreased and life time is maximized.

The proposed mobile sink method finds an optimum position after a time period and then finds an
optimum position to move on. The mobile sink calculates the optimum position in such a way to reduce
the relay times. In the data packet, hop count and source node information is sent along with information to
the sink. The BS is stored the data about the node, hop count and number of times forwarded till the time
period. At the end of time period, using this information, calculates the next best position so as to reduce
the relay times. Based on the relay score, the routing is performed. A relay score is calculated by each node
and a hello packet with the relay score is sent to the area of deployment. The hello packet is received and
the sending node’s relay score is saved by the neighbor nodes within the area of deployment. The relay score
is computed based on the (11):
𝑅 𝑁= 𝑊1 ∗ 𝐸R + 𝑊2 ∗ 𝑅𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠 + 𝑊3*𝐷 𝑁𝐵 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ (𝑊1 + 𝑊2 + 𝑊3 = 1) (11)
The equal distribution of proportion of weight is done among distance, relay times, and residual
energy [19] such that (w1 +w2 +w3) = 1. Where ER is the residual energy, Relay times is the number of hops
and DNBdistance of the node from base station [20-22], (xN, xB) and (yN, yB) are the node positions. 𝐷𝑁𝐵 is
calculated as
𝐷 𝑁𝐵=√ (𝑥𝑁−𝑥𝐵) 2
+ (𝑦𝑁−𝑦𝐵) 2
/𝑅 (12)
R is communication range of the sensor node.
The sink has to decide the next best position based on the relay hop count of all packets received in
the past interval. A cost factor is formulated based on the relay hop count and the best solution which gives
higher cost compared to previous solution is chosen for sink movement. This is achieved by using stochastic
hill climbing which is a soft computing procedure. All neighbors are evaluated by this algorithm and it chooses
the weighted nodes among them based on their evaluation.
3.2. Stochastic hill climbing
The overall process of stochastic hill climbing is explained using Pseudo code as shown in
the algorithm. Also, pseudo code helps to sink for finding next possible hop to collect data from cluster heads.
Cost for the current position is calculated by:
C = No of packet to sink / ∑ Relay hop Count
Cost for the new position (X, Y) is calculated as:
C = Predicted Packet count to sink / (∑ (Distance from (X,Y) to Node Position)/R)
where R is communication range.

In the discrete domains the Stochastic Hill Climbing with combinational optimization known as
explicit neighbors compared to continuous function optimization. The step by step algorithm procedure is
applied to continuous domains by the use of neighbor nodes.Even though the technique uses a stochastic
process, it can still get stuck in local optima. The Stochastic Hill Climbing will be restarted and repeated for
number of times after it convergence to improve the results [23-25].This procedure can be applied to multiple
nodes concurrently, allowing multiple algorithm runs to be performed at the same time. Past history of packet
count over time period is collected and based on its autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model
is constructed. Due to stochastic hill climbing, the base station converges at optimum position where relay hop
count is reduced.

4. PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
In the proposed scheme, the modeling of life time (T) is done. In the network, the lifetime (T) is
the time for energy consumption E of any node N. The lifetime (T) is not directly proportional to the Data
transmission rate (DT), Data sensing rate (Ds), and the Data relay rate of nodes (DR).

By combining (13), (14) and (15), the network lifetime (T) can be mentioned as
(𝐷 𝑆∗𝐷 𝑇∗ 𝐷 𝑅) (16)
The Node’s residual energy (ER) is directly proportional to the lifetime.
𝑇𝛼𝐸 𝑅 (17)
Hence T, where k is a constant for removing of the proportionality in (19).
(𝐸 𝑅/𝐷 𝑆∗𝐷 𝑇∗ 𝐷 𝑅) (18)
𝑇 = 𝑘 ∗ (𝐸 𝑅/𝐷 𝑆∗𝐷 𝑇∗ 𝐷 𝑅) (19)
Since 𝐷𝑆&𝐷𝑇 are the fuzzy functions.

With the average length of the routem when routing is happened NR time as,
𝐷𝑅 = 𝑘2 ∗ 𝑁𝑅 ∗ 𝐿𝐴𝑣𝑔 (21)
(22)
If there are high correlation in data values and few high priority nodes, the lifetime is increased in the
solution. If the transmission rate is reduced owing to high data correlation and few high priority nodes, the
relay times of node is relied on the node’s transmission rate. In the proposed solution, the lifetime is improved.

Energy efficient routing in wireless sensor network based on mobile sink guided by ... (Raghavendra Y. M.)

In WSN, the comparison of proposed solution with the routing protocol of TEEN for improved
efficiency is mentioned in [11], the solution of ELDC is presented in [10], and a protocol of distributed energy
efficient adaptive clustering with data collection for large-scale WSN provided in [13]. The below-mentioned
metrics are measured: 1) life time, 2) packet delay, 3) delivery ratio, 4) energy histogram.
Life time is defined as the first sensor node’s time or cluster of sensor nodes in the WSN that runs out
of energy. It is also described as the maximum duration of time during which the sensors are deployed that
have the monitoring capability. As shown in Figure 3, the lifetime is plotted and is measured for various nodes.
When compared to the Adaptive clustering protocol [13], TEEN [10], and ELDC [11], the lifetime is improved
in the proposed solution. In this work, the consumption of energy by sensor nodes for every round is much less
than the other existing methods mentioned in [10, 11, 13]. By comparing with the existing protocol techniques
such as provided in [10, 11, 13], the proposed solution is included the less energy conservation based on
the results. The deploying of live nodes’ density is done in the area of sensing (D), the available residual energy
at the node (E), and the priority of node (P) are affected the data sensing rate. However, the dependency of data
transmission rate is on the node’s residual energy and the data correlation of sensed value (CT). From the BS,
the distance of a node and its energy are impacted the node’s data relay rate. Other main reason, for less energy
consumption is data relay. Data relay rate in this work is further reduced by using mobile sink guided by
stochastic hill climbing search algorithm.
As shown in Figure 4, the packet delay is computed for various nodes. Here the packet delay is lower
in the proposed algorithm by comparing with the existing protocol techniques such as [10, 11, 13]. The decrease
in packet delay time increases the network lifetime.
Figure 3. Lifetime versus number of nodes Figure 4. Packet delay versus number of nodes
Packet delay is the propagation time required to deliver packets from node to sink.
Packet delay=Distance/speed of transmission.
Here packet delay is reduced due to reduction in relay rate and data transmission rate. Transmission
rate is reduced using fuzzy logic and relay rate is reduced using mobile sink guided by stochastic hill climbing
local search algorithm. The capability of protocol in delivering the data packets to the destination is measured
by the parameter known as Packet delivery ratio (PDR). PDR is depicted that the ratio of the delivered data
packets to the destination node to total transmitted packets.
PDR=Total Packets received/Total packets transmitted.
Here the packet delivery ratio is enhanced in the proposed algorithm when compared to theexisting
protocol techniques such as [10, 11, 13]. In this work, packet delivery ratio is increased because of reduction
in data relay rate. Data relay rate is decreased using geographical routing and mobile sink guided by stochastic
hill climbing local search algorithm as shown in Figure 5. For the sensor network, all nodes’ average energy is
computed at time slices with different instances. Figure 6 shows the simulation of nodes’ average energy for

30 minutes in the WSN. The nodes’ average value of energy in the evaluated method is higher than the existing
techniques like [10, 11, 13]. Because of the decrement in the transmitted number of packets, this improvement
is done.

6. CONCLUSION
In this work, mobile sink solution guided by stochastic hill climbing is proposed. For optimization of
relay hop count; the work proposed mobile sink where movements of mobile sink is guided using stochastic
hill climbing. From node to mobile sink geographic routing is applied. For different network configuration,
the proposed algorithm was simulated and made a comparision with the existing techniques. The improved
lifetime was observed than the other methods. To determine the best configuration of WSN dynamically within
the allowed time, a novel method is described in this paper that will improve the target application’s
performance. On different types of scenarios, the algorithm was run due to that different cases may have unique
reward equations.
