A SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance (HANA) is a data warehouse appliance for processing high volumes of operational and transactional data in real-time. HANA uses in-memory analytics,
an approach that queries data stored in random access memory (RAM) instead of on hard disk or flash storage.
A HANA appliance uses an SAP Sybase replication server to copy and synchronize data from an SAP data warehouse or enterprise resource planning (ERP) application in real-time.

The SAP License Cost According to SAP itself “Most ERP systems are priced according to the number of software users needed and the level of access each of these users will require from the system. According to most industry leaders and publications, the average a manufacturing or complex distribution company can expect to pay is about $4,000* per user
According to a survey of over 225 CIOs of global companies done by CIO Insight, the average ongoing cost per user for SAP is $1518 per year. In a separate study by Nucleus Research on behalf of Oracle, the ongoing costs estimate was considerably higher. Using the 22% annual maintenance fee imposed by SAP on the “list” price of the software, for the purposes of this paper, we are happy to settle at $1500 per year per user. We assume in this $1500 per year is the cost of the Oracle license, the added administrative and support costs for SAP, and the costs of training users and deploying upgrades.

Definition - What does SAP HANA mean?
SAP HANA is an application that uses in-memory database technology that allows the processing of massive amounts of real-time data in a short time. The in-memory computing engine allows HANA to process data stored in RAM as opposed to reading it from a disk. This allows the application to provide instantaneous results from customer transactions and data analyses.
HANA stands for high-performance analytic appliance.
SUMTWO explains SAP HANA
SAP HANA is designed to process structured data from relational databases, both SAP and non-SAP, and applications and other systems rapidly. It is capable of using three styles of data replication depending on the source of the data - log-based, ETL-based and trigger-based. The relocated structured data is stored directly in memory. Because of this, data can be accessed quickly in real time by the applications that use HANA.
SAP HANA supports various use cases for real-time analytics. Some examples include:
•Monitoring and optimization of telecommunications network
•Supply chain and retail optimization
•Fraud detection and security
•Forecasting and profitability reporting
•Energy use optimization and monitoring
The heart of SAP HANA Enterprise 1.0 is the SAP In-Memory Database 1.0, a massively parallel processing data store that melds row-based, column-based, and object-based storage techniques. Other components of SAP HANA Enterprise 1.0 include:
• SAP In-Memory Computing Studio,
• SAP Host Agent 7.2,
• SAPCAR 7.10,
• Sybase Replication Server 15,
• SAP HANA Load Controller 1.00, and,
• SAP Landscape Transformation 1 - SHC for ABA.

Snap CI now enables public GitHub repositories to do Continuous Integration(CI) and Continuous Delivery(CD) for free. When doing CD, the goal is to automate the process of deployment and build software in a way that can be deployed to production anytime. To achieve this, we need to figure out a way to deploy the application that doesn't interrupt the users using the system.
Learning about this process will allow you to reduce the frictions and delays for deploying new features and bug fixes to production. Your application needs to change in a way that understands this process. You will learn about application and deployment pipelines and the different ways to deploy.
In this talk we will touch upon some common deployment pipelines. We will cover in detail about how we changed Snap to do deployments that didn't affect our customers, the challenges we faced and some patterns that helped us overcome them. What made this challenging was the data migrations and long running builds of our customers that made it difficult to figure out when to cut over.

SAP Documents Management and DistributionSEAL Systems
Automated Document Distribution for mySAP PLM :
Documents are an essential part of the PLM process and the risks associated with putting the wrong documents in the wrong people’s hands can be great. Consider that while tracking a production order within your mySAP solutions, you notice that a number of CAD drawings need to accompany the PO. That means someone will have to manually print the CAD drawings and individually attach them to the order. This creates a high margin for error: What if you send the wrong drawing? What if it’s an outdated design or even one that is still a work in progress? These kinds of errors cost organizations time and money. "It’s the Output that counts"
Let's discover how to optimize document distribution within SAP !

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Enabling sap output management post data archiving
1. Enabling SAP Output Management post Data Archiving
The SAP Output Management system, which is part of standard SAP functionality, formats SAP documents using standard or custom smart forms. The system passes the formatted document on to the host output system for printing or it displays the document on the SAP screen, which for example, is downloadable as a PDF. Such document output is very common across SAP application processes such as Billing, Delivery, Goods Receipt, Invoicing etc. Let us now consider the scenario where these transaction data are archived from the SAP system into archive files, stored either locally in the SAP server’s file system or in an external archive system such as OpenText. Would you still be able to display or print output documents for these transactions by using standard SAP screens? The answer unfortunately is that such document output is no longer possible post archiving due to a technical limitation. The limitation is that the standard SAP “driver” programs (that read the required data into a Smart Form for output), do not have the ability to also read archived data. On the other hand, the standard SAP transactions and screens that do support access to archived data, do not also support output management. For various reasons, both regulatory as well as business-driven, customers often need to output SAP business documents using smart forms long after the transaction is cleared/closed and archived from SAP. The aforementioned limitation poses a problem for such customers and is often a deterrent in seeking approval for implementing data archiving in the organization.
Avaali Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has recommended and implemented some smart approaches to overcome this limitation for several SAP install base customers. One approach is to create and store/archive the output document (typically in PDF format) via ArchiveLink functionality, before the SAP transaction data itself is archived. This allows the output document to be viewed as an attachment in standard SAP reports and transactions. However this approach may not always be practical. For example, customers who do not have an ArchiveLink certified repository in place will not be able to archive the output documents as attachments. Some other customers may have a lot of such transaction data in the system which could require output post archiving. It is a very tedious task to generate and archive output documents for a large number of older transaction data in bulk. The other approach that has been implemented successfully for customers is to customize the “driver” programs behind Smart Forms so that it is also possible to read archived data to regenerate output. This has worked well for several customers, they are now able to do an “issue output” from within SAP transactions, even though the corresponding transaction data has been archived. Therefore there is no effort required to issue output for documents in bulk, before data archiving can be undertaken.
