Electric muscle stimulation (EMS) uses electrical impulses delivered through electrodes on the skin to cause muscles to contract, similar to actual movement. EMS can be used for training, rehabilitation, and beauty treatments. It activates up to 90% of muscles simultaneously and results in stronger contractions than voluntary exertion alone. EMS training is up to 18 times more effective than conventional gym workouts and can yield comparable results in only 20 minutes per week compared to 3 hours per week of weight training. Research studies show improvements in strength, endurance, back pain, and body shape after 6 weeks of EMS training.
