Job a man whose name is synonymous with trials . No doubt about it, Job suffered unimaginable
loss, heartache, and anguish. In the first chapter alone, we see him lose his property, his
livelihood, and worse, all of his children. Just one of those losses alone would be a trial in of itself,
but Job lost everything in a single day!
After hearing the tragic news, we are told in Job 1:20 that he got to his feet indicating that the
weight of his loss made this godly man crumble to his knees and ripped his robe and shaved his
head (the mourning custom of his day). Then he fell to the ground and worshiped. When I read this,
I notice two very interesting details:

Learning Experience Reflection
I believe that true learning requires much more than simply listening to a lecture, reading from a
book, or watching a video. While these all may be involved in the process of learning, hands on
experience and a real desire for knowledge of the subject are needed to truly learn.
Whether in the classroom or clinical setting, I believe that the process of learning should not be
static, but rather fluid in the sense that questions should be asked back and forth between educator
and student. A dialogue should be created so that both student and teacher are actively participating
in the learning process. Through this way of learning, one has to actively think and apply the
information they have on a particular subject, instead of just memorizing facts. I have found that
this is the best way for me to truly process and retain information.
In the clinical setting, hands on experience is the key to learning. During my general practice
residency, I was introduced to the see one, do one, teach one concept by a chief oral and
maxillofacial surgery resident who was assisting me with an advanced bone grafting procedure. I
really enjoy this method of learning within the clinical setting, given that one has had sufficient pre

What do you think of wolves? Do you think they re blood thirsty killers, or do you think they are
rather friendly animals? In the book, Never Cry Wolf, (1963) the author, Farley Mowat, writes
about his excursion to the sub arctic Barren Lands of Canada to study how wolves act and how
the community is being affected by the wolves. The people of Churchill lead Mowat to believe
the wolves are something that they aren t, which is a blood thirsty killer. Mowat then uses the
rhetorical strategy Pathos throughout the book to show you how he personifies the wolves and
how fear is all in our minds. Pathos represents an appeal to the emotions of the audience. Mowat
uses this rhetorical strategy to get us to feel the emotions that he felt. When arriving in
Churchill, Mowat says that he discovered that although wolves reputedly devour several people
in the Arctic Zone every year, they will always refrain from attacking a pregnant eskimo (24). In
Chapter 4 When is a Wolf Not a Wolf?, Mowat shares his fear. He hears howling in the distance
and quickly hides saying I found myself wishing I were a pregnant eskimo (42). Although this is
funny, it made me feel fear for Mowat because of Churchill s rumors that you would be eaten. It
turns out the howling was just huskies which led Mowat to the realization that maybe everything
that the people said isn t true. A couple chapters later in Chapter 7 The Watcher Watched, Mowat
learned that maybe wolves aren t savage killers and maybe just the opposite of that. This lesson
was learned when Mowat was out searching for the wolves and they were behind him the whole
time. A struck of shock lit Mowat up when he realized that the wolves had any chance to attack him
and they didn t, instead they sat quietly and observed Mowat. This sent fear through me because it
led Mowat to new ideas which means he s going to put more trust into the wolves and go right into
it with an open mind. From Chapter 7 on, the whole perspective changes. Personification is the

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold became very popular after it was first released on December
26, 2009, in New Zealand. Although, the film did not reach the United States until January 2010 it
still was a major hit from the books that was already selling in stores. The book was written by
Alice Sebold and became an automatic best selling novel around the world in 2002. This film
basically alerts the audience of watching their surrounding closely and never to trust anyone. Once
the audience watches the film all the way through, it is sure to fill the room with plenty of
emotions and tears will be shed.
The film is really showing the audience how a young girl gets murder gruesomely by a man that
she thought she could trust. Once the neighbor murders Susie he tries to go on with his life as
of nothing happens and no one grows suspicious of him. Susie was stuck in a universe where she
could watch over her family and also the man who brought pain to her family by taking her life.
She then has to decide to continue to get revenge on the man who took her life or let her family

As soon as Barbara reveals her identity Freddy immediately begins to take note of the Jewishness
of her appearance, something dark and intense beyond her actual shape and colouring [6] and
seems to feel uncomfortable with her until he is able to share an
English giggle with her about the wine served in Jerusalem, which is always lukewarm. This
reaction to Judaism by Freddy suggests it is something to be ashamed of or uncomfortable with,
although as the novel progresses it seems as though Freddy is more at ease with Jews.
