Cultural Change and Shifting View in America
Many consider The 1893 Chicago s World Fair as a day that paved the way out of traditional life into
modernization. It was considered one of the first cases in history where communication technologies,

Henri inspired other painters to seek authenticity, a quality that is combined with the validity of one s
first impression and personal experience, as well as the current emphasis on the truth. Modernization
carried an updated visual sense and the artists of Ashcan school and shaped viewers interest in unusual
modes of identifying New York City. The Ashcan School rebelled against skillful, finished portraits by
having the ability in restoring the outward appearances of individuals and instead celebrating the
creative process.
One way they were able to achieve through the 1905 Hester Street painting that celebrated the
scampering streets of urban life, as it displayed immigrant shoppers, curious onlookers, casual
strollers, and pushcart peddlers to represent citizens as of equal importance. The purpose was to
overlook the overcrowding, crime, and sheer poverty of the slums by creating a more colorful and
lively place that represented hope in the future. Yet she is also a type, both easily recognizable and
representative to isolate and define the terms of race, ethnicity, and class as he considered the nation s
democratic character and identity (Doss, 2002, p. 49). Another prime example they were able to depict
this was in The 1907 Eva Green painting, which main purpose was to reject the derogatory depictions
of American Americans. Robert Henri managed to

A Comprehensive Framework Of Knowledge For Healthcare...
There is a critical need for healthcare professionals to understand the economic ramifications of
medical decisions, and further, develop clinical and cost effective strategies for optimal care. The
Health Economics curriculum at the University of York has been designed to sequentially build a
comprehensive framework of knowledge for healthcare professionals. With the support of a Fulbright,
this program of study will enable me to evaluate the health systems in the US, UK and Australia with
the goal of implementing cost efficient protocols for the management of head injury in children.

The U.K. is a global leader in economic evaluation of healthcare systems, and the team for Economic
Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment at the University of York has invaluable expertise in
research evaluating economic efficiency in healthcare. Dr. Laura Bojke is a leader in the economic
evaluation of social care and public health interventions for children with whom I hope to collaborate
and explore the economic impact of pediatric head injury. I have been accepted into the M.Sc.
program in Health Economics at University of York, to start in October 2016. I hope to apply this
knowledge to evaluate the economic aspects of pediatric concussion and its long term impact on
healthcare and resource utilization.
Traumatic Brain injury (TBI) is projected to be a significant cause of global disease burden by 2020;
with an estimated 10 million people affected by TBI annually worldwide. A concussion is the most
common form of TBI and is particularly prevalent among children and young adults. The U.S. Centers
for Disease Control (CDC) reported an annual estimated 1.6 3.8 million sports related TBI, with a cost
of $12 billion in the year 2000. Tertiary prevention focused on physical and psychological
rehabilitation is known to reduce disability and improve quality of life. Chronic traumatic
encephalopathy in professional athletes diagnosed after death by brain biopsy has brought attention to
the complication of inadequately treated sport related concussion.

Disengagement Theory
There are many theories of aging; the purpose of my paper is to illustrate the application of theories of
aging. I will discuss the psychosocial theory of aging. The psychosocial theory explains aging in terms
of mental processes emotions, intelligence, memory, learning and personality (Dittrich, 2014). The
theories discussed are disengagement theories and activity theory.
Disengagement theories of aging are put forward that as older adults age, they have a withdrawal from
interactions and relationships to the various systems of which they belong. The theory is that this
withdrawal is inevitable and mutual. The disengagement process is that older adults accept that their
life has changed over a lifespan. Because of aging, they begin to ... Show more content on

The process is irreversible once it has started. As a preparation for death, the individual and society
gradually separate from one another. The aging person has an increased preoccupation with self and a
decreased involvement with others. The society s tendency, at the same time, is to reject aging
individuals (Saajanaho, M. 2016). This results in decreased interaction between the aging person and
others in the social system. As the number, nature, and diversity of the older person s social contacts
diminish, disengagement becomes a circular process that further limits the opportunities for
interaction (Saajanaho, M.

3.8) Short term scheduler or CPU scheduler: selects a process from the processes (that are in memory)

Medium term scheduler: It is an intermediate level of scheduling where in process is removed from

the thread will always try locking a spinlock if it is not successful which will take lot of CPU time and

6.2) Preemptive scheduling allows a process to be invoked/disturbed in the middle of its execution by

Trait Theory, As Its Name Suggest Is A Platform To Study
Trait theory, as its name suggest is a platform to study Human Psychology that identifies and measures
the degree to which certain personality traits recurring patterns of thought and behavior, such as
anxiousness, shyness, openness to new things exist from individual to individual. The subject involves
a set number of personality traits (although the number of traits can vary wildly) and assigns the
degree that a trait exists, which then determines the individual s personality. Dr. William Sheldon
(1898 1977) was an American psychologist who during his career held teaching and research posts at
a number of Universities in the United States. Much of Dr. William Sheldon s professional life was

Allport s theories remained influential in personality theory, but 4,000 traits were considered by many
to be unwieldy and impractical for applications. So in the 1940s, Raymond Cattell boiled Trait Theory
down to something more manageable. In Cattell s early career he was a research assistant to Charles
Spearman, who developed a way of approaching statistics called factor analysis, which involved
grouping commonly appearing factors in sets of data.
Raymond Cattell, was a British chemist, statistician and psychologist with a fascination for human
personality and behavior who disagreed with Eyesenck s view that personality could be understood by
looking at two or three dimensions. In the 1940s, Cattell began what was to be many years of research
into personality traits. Frustrated with personality theories that only seemed to describe separate
aspects of personality, he set out to try to identify all of the traits that made up a person. He was
influenced by the devastating effects of the First and Second World Wars, and hoped that if human
nature could be better understood, it would bring mankind closer to solving global political and
economic problems. In order to scientifically establish a formal framework for understanding
personality, Cattell used a statistical technique known as factor analysis. He started out with a list of
4,500 adjectives that could describe people (taken from the English

Brooks Target Audience
I like this ad. I can see myself being in the model s shoes with ease. I find the tone of the headline (i.e.
thank you conveniently located porta potty ) and delivery of the ad quite witty and cleverly executed. I
sometimes feel intimidated and alienated by the hardcore athletes ridden in Nike ads as a dancer. I don
t fall into the typical sports categories Nike targets so their models and athletes don t appeal to me. I
am serious about dance, however, so I find that Brooks messaging and quality is a suitable middle

well. This ad appeals to the active, young female who would look at this ad and empathize with a

The Stereotype Of A Smart High Achieving Asian American...
The model minority is a member of a minority group either based on ethnicity, race, or religion whose
members are commonly perceived to achieve a higher level of success than the average population.
The success that an individual reaches is typically measured by income, education, low crime rates
and high family stability achieved throughout their lives. The stereotype of the model minority is
commonly associated with Asian Americans as they are assumed to achieve highly in academics
which will thus propel them up the economic ladder. The stereotype of a smart high achieving Asian
American student is fueled by other stereotypes such as Asians being good at math and that they all go
to college. The intelligence stereotypes created by society are the reason why some individuals feel
pressured to succeed and feel as if failure is not as option. If its not the student who feels the pressure,
than it is the parent that pushes to child to do well. So called helicopter parents, that push their
children into professions or schools that the child may not want to attend, but have no choice as the
school or profession will bring upon great fortune and pride to the family. The parents push upon their
own ambitions and dreams onto the child and are looking out for the child s future even if it is not
necessarily the child s desire. However, along with the idea of a child succeeding both academically
and financially come the notion that the child may only excel in school. The child

Accident investigators found that a replacement windscreen had been installed 27 hours before the
flight, and that the procedure had been approved by the Shift Maintenance Manager. 84 of the 90
windscreen retention bolts were 0.026 inches too small in diameter, while the remaining six were 0.1
inches too short ( British airways flight 5390, ). The investigation revealed that the previous
windscreen had been fitted with incorrect bolts, which had been replaced on a like for like basis by the
Shift Maintenance Manager without reference to the maintenance documentation. The air pressure
difference between the cabin and the outside during the flight proved to be too much, leading to the
failure of the windscreen. The incident also brought to attention a design flaw in the aircraft of the
windscreen being secured from the outside of the aircraft, putting a greater stress on the bolts than if
they were secured from the inside. Investigators blamed the British Airways Birmingham Airport Shift
Maintenance Manager for installing the incorrect bolts during the windscreen replacement and for
failing to follow official British Airways policies. They also found fault with British Airways policies,
which should have required testing or verification by another person for this critical task. Finally,
investigators blamed the local Birmingham Airport management for not directly monitoring the

Abstract:
Purpose To assess the significance of ADC values out of DWI in grading of prostate cancer in
correlation to Gleason score.
Patients and Methods: the study was conducted on 11 patients diagnosed as prostate cancer using U/S
guided sextant biopsy. The resultant 66 biopsy proven pathological Gleason score were covered in mp
MRI imaging. They used to perform the database for correlating Gleason score with ADC values. And
the data used to calculate the mean ADC, standard deviation and maximum to minimum ranges for
each Gleason score. Followed by data analysis to measure mean difference and significance of ADC
values in multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main limitation and drawback in our study was that our results were compared to biopsy proven
Gleason score not to post prostatectomy pathological results as only one of our patient underwent
radical prostatectomy and rest of patients are non compatible to surgery either due to metastasis, old
age or patient refusal.
Second, our study are small (n =11) and ADC values correlation to biopsy proven Gleason score was
done using only 66 core biopsy result, So larger studies are necessary to better assess our results.
We recommend in later studies to use larger samples and compare the DWI ADC results to post
prostatectomy pathological results so we can correlate the results to accurate Gleason score and even
detect central gland carcinoma pathologically to compare with DWI MRI results.
In conclusion our results prove high p values for correlating mean ADC value to Gleason score and
median ADC values can be used as non invasive grading method for prostate cancer.

Using teachers to screen for potential gifted students gives a basis for more formal testing of the
students. However, the district must first define their own requirements for a gifted program.
Primarily, a higher than average IQ score, general good grades, leadership abilities, and creative
abilities should be considered when looking to identify gifted students. While all of these
characteristics are important, it is also important to note that students may not possess all of them, and
may only have a gifted talent in one specific area of study. When a teacher suspects giftedness, they
should refer the student to the guidance counselor or school psychologist, who can then set up a
formal assessment to determine if the student has enough of the characteristics to qualify as gifted by
the state. After students have been identified, it is then important to secure a GIEP (Gifted Individual
Education Plan) and make greater opportunities available. However, as mentioned above, the first step
is to use the tools described above to identify students in need of the gifted

Hunger thirst fear transport selection fire chimney: these words all have intrinsic meaning, but in those
times, they meant something else. (Wiesel 2006, p.XII). Night is a novel and an autobiography written
by Elie Wiesel in 2006. In this book, Wiesel shares his four years of Horrifying experience at the
concentration camps. The main purpose of writing this book is to show the audience how exactly the
day to day life of the Jews were at the concentration camps. Two of the main points of this book are
Relation and Faith. Wiesel has a good bond with his father that he doesn t lose no matter what
circumstances they both went under. Through out the entire book, Wiesel shows his faith in god to the
audience. There were times where he doubts in god and almost loses faith in him and humanity but
then he continues to have faith in him. The author Elie Wiesel is a Noble prize winner and a teacher
born on September 19, 1928 in Sighet, Transylvania. Wiesel wanted to study religion because of his
religious background but unfortunately that could not happen because he was sent to the concentration
camps at the age of twelve. I chose this book because it was something that I chose it in high school to
write a paper on but I could not do it because it did not meet the requirements of the professors of my
sophomore and junior year. The Author uses his Point of View, Symbolism and Foreshadowing in this
Novel.

Lyndon B. Johnson s Involvement In The Vietnam War
The history of the Vietnam War had a violent beginning. Before the assassination of President
Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson had little to no involvement in the Vietnam conflict. Beforehand the
United States had mainly sent supplies and aid to South Vietnam against North Vietnam. After the
assassination of both president Kennedy and the President of South Vietnam, the war became
inevitable.
After becoming President, Johnson had to focus on Vietnam and the spread of communism. The
uprisings in South Vietnam after the assassination led Johnson to have more force than Kennedy ever
did. The tipping point was the gulf of Tonkin incident. Two destroyers were attacked in the gulf of
Tonkin off of Vietnam. This led to the gulf of Tonkin resolution. This joint resolution enacted by
Congress gave the President power to use military force without a declaration of war. After the gulf
incident Johnson s response to the public stated that he would not commit American troops to the
ground to fight a foreign war. Shortly after the president learned that South Vietnam was losing and
couldn t even protect United States establishments stationed there. After bombing key points in North
Vietnam, Johnson started to escalate and sent ground troops in. From that moment on Johnson

resistance has been recognized. The increased use of antimicrobial agents in the recent years has
resulted in the development of resistance to these drugs. Clinical threats have however been

increased in size and complexity and national society depends heavily upon a high level of power
system reliability. When the bulk transmission system is subjected to large disturbances there is the
possibility of a system wide blackout due to cascading outages. After a partial blackout or system
breakdown condition, restoring power system is needed and then power needs to be restored as
quickly, stability and reliability as possible and consequently. Outage time after extensive blackouts
depends very much on the power system restoration process. Power system restoration is a very
challenging task to the operator since the situation is so far from normal conditions. This paper

Obama s Plan And How It Would Evolve Over The Next Five...
Looking into Clinton s plan and how it would evolve over the next five years, the themes of access
and affordability shine through. She believes that all students should be able to obtain a public post
secondary education (Clinton on the Issues: College, 2016). The current truth is that access and
success in higher education continue to be stratified according to income... (Eckel King, 2004). With
Clinton s plan access would increase, and with that enrollment would increase. Increased enrollment
at college campuses strikes as an initially positive thought; more students can gain and education and
contribute that education to bettering society. However, increase enrollment could lead to increase
selectivity, if enrollment increased in extreme enough amounts. State schools, that were founded to
offer quality education would now have a larger pool of student to pick from. For the state school s
fortunate enough to the capacity to educate more student s their success would continue to increase.
But what about the state schools that are already struggling with enrollment issues? Will they continue
to live out their mission and increase enrollment at the expense of the student s education quality. For
campuses that are already filled with students, larger incoming classes would lead to less enrollment
options, larger classroom sizes, and the same campus resources spread thinner across a larger student
body. Schools in this category would be forced to decide between decreasing

The 1998 movie, Bulworth, dives into the realm of the scandalous American political system. From
income inequality, to corporate greed, Bulworth manages to put a comedic twist on a very serious set
of topics that politicians and the American public face daily. The main character, Jay Billington
Bulworth is a liberal democratic Senator from California who is running for reelection (Bulworth:

It is an exemplary piece of work that truly portrays why American is no longer the greatest country in
the world anymore. This movie has many hidden metaphors that portray the directors cynicism of the
American system. When Bulworth drinks alcohol in front of the media, he instantly captures the
attention of the nation. This is a metaphor of how both Republicans and Democrats, along with big
business manage to exploit the media and systemically hypnotize the American people. Everyone

What Extent Do Liberals Support Democracy
To what extent do liberals support democracy (45 marks)
Democracy is the ultimate political form of ideological liberalism. It refers to the ideal form of state,
and is common to both classical and modern liberals.
In the 19th century, liberals often saw democracy as threatening or dangerous. Political theorists such
as Plato and Aristotle viewed democracy as being a system of rule at the expense of wisdom and
property. The principle that the will of the majority should prevail over the minority may have
negative effects. In Northern Ireland, a very divided religious country, if the 51% get their way, the
other 49% will be in outrage. Democracy thus comes down to the rule of the 51%, as French politician

Therefor although citizens may vote for a leader, they will then make decisions based on a small
number of peoples view for the majority of the people. The minority ruling the majority.
However a reason why liberals support democracy is that it shows each individual is equal one vote
per person, gives everyone equal influence on how countries governed. Since voting is done
individually, it constraints the collective pressures of groups within society.
To conclude, liberals are now staunch advocates of democracy as it provides personal development,
consent and all individuals are equal. Modern liberals embrace democracy, but only in the specific
liberal form. They reject other forms of democracy, which may be less pluralist or more participatory,
as downright

Future And Future Of Implants
Future of Implants
When I asked Dr. Marko about what he thinks will happen to implants in the future he stated: I expect
that it will expand. He explained that current DBS technologies are seeing expanding indications for
more and more diseases with good results. But beyond this, there are whole new domains of brain
implants coming online and in the research pipeline. These include the whole field of brain computer
interface, which allows the brain to control machines (e.g. prosthetic limbs). This is very promising,
and some examples are already making it to real world application. Additional implants designed to
improve memory, etc. are also being developed. The future of those is less certain, but I suspect they
will improve and start to see practical application as time goes on [Marko].
One strong belief about the future of implants is that they will significantly reduce in size; nanoscale
implants will be fully developed and will be comprised of materials with increased longevity so that
there will be no need of additional surgeries for repair or replacements. With continued research and
development of implants and advancements are made as a result of the Blue Brain Project, implants
will be able to mend the symptoms of a larger range of diseases. This is extremely important, for
millions of people will regain their abilities that were taken from them by a disease.
Currently, deep brain stimulation implants focus on enhancing motor functions or mood. The deep

PepsiCo, Inc acquired Pizza Hut in 1977, adding the family business to a corporate list sharing space
with Pepsi Cola® brand soft drinks, and Frito Lay® brand snack foods. In October of 1977, PepsiCo
founded Tricon (Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell) and on May 16, 2002 Tricon officially became Yum!
Brands.
Pizza Hut has experienced many changes in the way they do business over the years, with leadership
and ownership being only two of the most important changes. Franchising expanded the revenue and
the visibility and brand knowledge. Home delivery set Pizza Hut apart from the crowd, but the newest
addition to the Pizza Hut family of options, the ability to order a pizza on line and have it delivered to
a family s doorstep, has gone a long way in proving that e Business is a force to be reckoned with. The
emergence of e Business opened new money making opportunities to businesses once thought to only
exist in the physical marketplace.
As with any business, opportunities require planning and effective management. Restaurant Business,
Fortune, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal (Pizza Hut, 2006) have cited Pizza Hut as an
innovative business leader for all its business accomplishments. Pizza Hut has built a reputation for
excellence through innovation and a commitment to satisfying the customer s needs as they have
changed throughout the years. Expansion into e Business is just one of those changes.

Making Decisions Based on Demand and Forecasting
Making Decisions Based on Demand and Forecasting Greg Wells Professor Dr. E.T. Faux Managerial
Economics and Globalization October 20, 2012 1. Report the demographic and independent variables
that are relevant to complete a demand analysis providing a rationale for the selection of the variables.
The independent variables for this report will be population, average income per household, age of

question and as we will see in this report, growth will play a positive factor. The ultimate concern is

Justify the assumptions made related to the forecast. Using the demand function I came up with the
following four (4) year forecast for pizzas sold. |Year |Sold |Population |Median Household Income
|Price | |2011 |$681,300.87 |61,240 |$29,135.00 |$10.00 | |2012 |$699,299.67 |62710 |$29,362.00
|$10.03 | |2013 |$717,875.11 |64215 |$29,591.00 |$10.06 | |2014 |$737,043.10 |65756 |$29,822.00
|$10.09 | I based the population growth assumption by taking the 2011 estimation from the Census
Bureau, which was 2.4% increase from 2010, and applied to each year (Census Bureau, 2012). For the
median household income, I applied .78% increase for each year based on the average growth from
2006 to 2010. For 2011, I left the price of pizza the same and increase by .3% thereafter. The price of
pizza over the years has not grown in comparison to population and income, however; I felt that the
price should increase given basic inflation. Based on the forecasting demand, determine whether

Comparing The Game-Cock And The Goose
A race between a game cock and a goose? That would be quite interesting to watch! Illustrated by
John L. Magee and published in New York by the Office of Yankee Notions in 1852, The Game Cock
the Goose depicts rival candidates Winfield Scott and Franklin Pierce in the 1852 election race. The
question is: who will win? At first glance, I saw two different birds in a race. Winfield Scott, the man
sitting aboard an elegant game cock (left), tips his hat as he slowly pulls ahead of Pierce. Pierce
(right), on the other hand, is about to fall off his mount, a goose. The pair compete before an interested
and animated audience. Scott and Pierce are both wearing military uniforms, but only Scott has a

The Benefits Of Operant Conditioning
The purpose of this report is to go through the psychological, aspects of the group; to see how they
work together to achieve their goals, with the social science perspective of psychology. ISIS or also
known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant is a jihadist militant group that follows a
fundamentalist doctrine of Islam. (Shirlow, Peter, 2013, para. 3). ISIS uses Operant conditioning to
keep their members and possible members thinking that life under ISIS is better than their current
state. Operant conditioning is used in ISIS to enforce their own morals and values, and isolate the rest

Sometimes the prizes are bigger than the other, this can be compared to ISIS s system. The worse the
crime you commit, the better the reward is. ISIS s rewards go much further than just a physical object
or some money, it pushes it further into rewards for an afterlife or in the afterlife. ISIS is so isolated
from the rest of the world, that they ve created their own currency in which it s citizens use for
everything. It s also very profitable for the people who commit the terror acts. The rewards are given
for those who, killing an unbelieving soldier or capturing an unbelieving soldier, as well as reporting
anything that goes against their religious law. (MacIntyre, Sara, 2016). Since the people in the areas
controlled by ISIS are very religious and isolated from the rest of the world s views, the rewards are
their path to rich and fame within its cities. This is a psychological motivator for them and helps them
cope with what they are doing, and continue it to please their god and prepare for a glorious afterlife.
(Blair, Leonardo, 2014). The chances of the rewards being given out to those who follow through are
slim, this encourages them to commit the killings more often to have a higher chance at getting the
rewards. Although, videotaping the killings or capturings drastically improves the chances of the
rewards being given out, this is another contributing factor to the

Dantes Inferno
Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli demonstrated that the different critical exegetical positions, regarding the
Divine Comedy (whose intent appears on one side as a disciplinary and moral renewal of the Church,
and on the other side as a hidden, heretical reversion) were not free from contemporary pressures. In
fact, their own theories are able to offer a valid evidence of the nineteenth century s political and
religious debates, and for this reason, I am going to analyse the interpretation of Dante s work by Ugo
Foscolo, through both, the Discorso sul testo della Divina Commedia , and two articles that Foscolo
published in the Edinburgh Review in 1818; in addition, I am going to analyse the interpretation by
Rossetti through his work titled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, being impossible to summarize the vast, esoteric, exegesis of Dante proposed by them, I
am feeling obliged to try to highlight some common key of readings as, for example: 1) the relation
between the symbol of the Cross (representing the Roman Church) and the Eagle (representing the
Empire), whose doctrines are linked to mankind s need for salvation. These two institutions (Church
and Empire), according Dante s thought, had to be both settled at the centre of Rome, as at the time of
the Holy Roman Empire. In addition, according to Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, Dante attacked the
Church exclusively because he wanted the renewal of the spiritual dimension, where the Church had
to abandon its material interests, leaving exclusively to the Empire the task to unify Peoples under a
unique government. In this way, both Church and Empire would have been able to help humankind for
their spiritual and material ends. 2) Another common key of reading, for Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, is
linked with the symbol of Beatrice, which is seen by the three interpreters, not as a real woman, but as
a symbol of the wisdom, present in many ancient traditions. 3) I will try to highlight the fact that the
esoteric reading of Dante, is considered by both, Foscolo and Rossetti in key heterodox, neo
Pythagorean and Ghibelline, while it is considered by Valli in super catholic key. In brief, in my thesis,
I will try to find all common passages of Dante s oeuvre, used by Foscolo,Rossetti and Valli, analysing

1960s And 1970s Gender Roles Essay
Prior to the 1960s and 70s in the United States, roles were defined based on someone s gender, family
structure, and sexual orientation. Women were to be in domestic roles in a family by raising the
children, housework, and attending the husband s needs. Women were discouraged to pursue higher
education and few were supervisors in the workplace. The family was to be composed of a husband,
wife, and children. The husband was the patriarch and therefore, whatever he decided went. Finally,
homosexuality was seen as taboo and was strongly discouraged in society. However, a sexual
revolution took place during the 1960s and 1970s where roles were no longer being accepted and
people could make decisions on their own than, what society told them. With these advancements, I
find the sexual revolution to be positive and set forth practices that continue in the 21st Century thanks

Women were seen as domestic servants and did not have a say in decisions. This is contrary to the
Roaring Twenties, where many women began changing norms that society had set forth by wearing
makeup, short dresses, smoking and drinking in public. The norm was to cover up the body, perform
domestic work, remain abstinence, and follow what the man said. These women became known as
flappers. However, the stereotypical housewife emerged in the 50s where she is to speak in a low
voice to not disturb her husband, tend to children, and know her place. There is an article that will be
in the bibliography that showcases the characteristics a woman was to follow. Thanks to the
Counterculture, Vietnam War Protests, and Civil Rights Movement during the 1960s, women began
once again to challenge the rules society wanted them to follow. Women demanded higher gender pay,

Empirical Formula Of Hydrate Lab
The primary of this lab is about the hydrate. The hydrate is a compound formed by an ionic bond
combined with the water molecule (known as water of hydration ) attached to it. So for every formula
unit, there would be some amount of water molecule combined with the ionic compound and would
act as a single compound. Our theoretical hydrate for this lab was CuSO4 * 5H2O. To remove the
water from the compound and get the mass of the ionic compound, you need to follow the dehydrating
procedure by heating. That would separate the ionic bond (CuSO4) from the water molecule (5H2O)
once it reaches certain decomposition temperature. And to physically determine whether or not the
water of hydration is removed, see the color, in our case, turning white from blue. Once the water
molecules have entirely evaporated, the mass left would be the weight of the ionic compound (mass of
CuSO4 in grams). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The empirical formula is a similar molecular formula but in its simplified ratio. While calculating, you
need to find the percent of a part of the compound from the whole compound. Then find the moles of
each composition and then calculate mole to mole ratio between copper(II) sulfate and water to
achieve the possible empirical formula. But for the mole to mole ratio to work, you need to know the
law of definite proportions. It says that every chemical compound would have certain proportion, by
mass, of its composition and that ratio cannot be changed. So for example a mole of water would
always have 1 mole of Oxygen and 2 moles of

Bait And Switch Rhetorical Analysis
Barbara Ehrenreich s Bait and Switch describes the experience of going undercover as a white collar

However, Barbara Ehrenreich s failure points out the issues people may face in job marker and gives

The Documentary The Sixteenth Man
The documentary the 16th man tells the story of the South African rugby team winning the 1995
World Cup during a time when racial equality was a major issue. The whites were in power in the
country of South Africa and judging others based simply by their skin color. According to the video
blacks outnumbered whites 6 to 1, but still did not have the right to vote as the whites had complete
control. Both sides were at odds with each other fueled by anger and unjustified resentment. Then
when the 1995 rugby World Cup was being held in South Africa the South African team was heavy
underdogs. The big news though was one of the better players on the team was a black man. This
created some pride among their race and brought their attention to the games. South Africa ended up
shocking the world as they won the World Cup. This was big news and had a tremendous impact on
their fans. However, the biggest impact could not be measured by a trophy. The victory brought people
together. Allowed people to realize there was no need for the fighting and that they were not so
different after all. The 1995 South African rugby team highlights how sport can unite people, proving
that social and political resolutions can be developed through sport. Nelson Mandela as a peaceful
leader of the South African black community he realized what sports could do for dying down the
racial tension. The sport was bringing everyone together. Instead of picking racial sides everyone was

Welch Mission Statement
Critical Analysis:
In order for corporations to be categorized winning corporations, there must be a set foundation that
allows the corporation and the agents inside it, to move as a cohesive unit towards one mission. A
clear mission is important because it is the base of the creation of a strategic plan in obtaining the
results desired by the corporation. It is much easier to map out the plan towards a clear, concrete, and
descriptive mission statement than one that can be misinterpreted by the employees making the calls
within the corporation. But for a company s mission and values to truly work together as a winning
proposition, they have to be mutually reinforcing (Welch 21). When the goal is not clear, it is hard to

energize is the capability to make people feel pumped up and ready to tackle a task and stay on
routine. These two qualities everyone in the corporation should have as well as intelligence (different
than education), maturity, and integrity. Choosing a manager can be tricky but there are more traits
that are needed in order to be a winning manager; the ability to foresight, authenticity, seeking the
smartest people to associate around, and resilience. An effective manager is extremely important

Henri inspired other painters to seek authenticity, a quality that is combined with the validity of one s first impression and personal experience, as well as the current emphasis on the truth. Modernization carried an updated visual sense and the artists of Ashcan school and shaped viewers interest in unusual modes of identifying New York City. The Ashcan School rebelled against skillful, finished portraits by having the ability in restoring the outward appearances of individuals and instead celebrating the creative process. One way they were able to achieve through the 1905 Hester Street painting that celebrated the scampering streets of urban life, as it displayed immigrant shoppers, curious onlookers, casual strollers, and pushcart peddlers to represent citizens as of equal importance. The purpose was to overlook the overcrowding, crime, and sheer poverty of the slums by creating a more colorful and lively place that represented hope in the future. Yet she is also a type, both easily recognizable and representative to isolate and define the terms of race, ethnicity, and class as he considered the nation s democratic character and identity (Doss, 2002, p. 49). Another prime example they were able to depict this was in The 1907 Eva Green painting, which main purpose was to reject the derogatory depictions of American Americans. Robert Henri managed to ... There is a critical need for healthcare professionals to understand the economic ramifications of medical decisions, and further, develop clinical and cost effective strategies for optimal care. The Health Economics curriculum at the University of York has been designed to sequentially build a comprehensive framework of knowledge for healthcare professionals. With the support of a Fulbright, this program of study will enable me to evaluate the health systems in the US, UK and Australia with the goal of implementing cost efficient protocols for the management of head injury in children. The U.K. is a global leader in economic evaluation of healthcare systems, and the team for Economic Evaluation and Health Technology Assessment at the University of York has invaluable expertise in research evaluating economic efficiency in healthcare. Dr. Laura Bojke is a leader in the economic evaluation of social care and public health interventions for children with whom I hope to collaborate and explore the economic impact of pediatric head injury. I have been accepted into the M.Sc. program in Health Economics at University of York, to start in October 2016. I hope to apply this knowledge to evaluate the economic aspects of pediatric concussion and its long term impact on healthcare and resource utilization. Traumatic Brain injury (TBI) is projected to be a significant cause of global disease burden by 2020; with an estimated 10 million people affected by TBI annually worldwide. A concussion is the most common form of TBI and is particularly prevalent among children and young adults. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported an annual estimated 1.6 3.8 million sports related TBI, with a cost of $12 billion in the year 2000. Tertiary prevention focused on physical and psychological rehabilitation is known to reduce disability and improve quality of life. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy in professional athletes diagnosed after death by brain biopsy has brought attention to the complication of inadequately treated sport related concussion. ... • 4. Disengagement Theory There are many theories of aging; the purpose of my paper is to illustrate the application of theories of aging. I will discuss the psychosocial theory of aging. The psychosocial theory explains aging in terms of mental processes emotions, intelligence, memory, learning and personality (Dittrich, 2014). The theories discussed are disengagement theories and activity theory. Disengagement theories of aging are put forward that as older adults age, they have a withdrawal from interactions and relationships to the various systems of which they belong. The theory is that this withdrawal is inevitable and mutual. The disengagement process is that older adults accept that their life has changed over a lifespan. Because of aging, they begin to ... The aging person has an increased preoccupation with self and a decreased involvement with others. The society s tendency, at the same time, is to reject aging individuals (Saajanaho, M. 2016). This results in decreased interaction between the aging person and others in the social system. As the number, nature, and diversity of the older person s social contacts diminish, disengagement becomes a circular process that further limits the opportunities for interaction (Saajanaho, M. ... Trait Theory, As Its Name Suggest Is A Platform To Study Trait theory, as its name suggest is a platform to study Human Psychology that identifies and measures the degree to which certain personality traits recurring patterns of thought and behavior, such as anxiousness, shyness, openness to new things exist from individual to individual. The subject involves a set number of personality traits (although the number of traits can vary wildly) and assigns the degree that a trait exists, which then determines the individual s personality. Allport s theories remained influential in personality theory, but 4,000 traits were considered by many to be unwieldy and impractical for applications. So in the 1940s, Raymond Cattell boiled Trait Theory down to something more manageable. In Cattell s early career he was a research assistant to Charles Spearman, who developed a way of approaching statistics called factor analysis, which involved grouping commonly appearing factors in sets of data. Raymond Cattell, was a British chemist, statistician and psychologist with a fascination for human personality and behavior who disagreed with Eyesenck s view that personality could be understood by looking at two or three dimensions. In the 1940s, Cattell began what was to be many years of research into personality traits. Frustrated with personality theories that only seemed to describe separate aspects of personality, he set out to try to identify all of the traits that made up a person. He was influenced by the devastating effects of the First and Second World Wars, and hoped that if human nature could be better understood, it would bring mankind closer to solving global political and economic problems. In order to scientifically establish a formal framework for understanding personality, Cattell used a statistical technique known as factor analysis. • 7. Brooks Target Audience I like this ad. I can see myself being in the model s shoes with ease. I find the tone of the headline (i.e. thank you conveniently located porta potty ) and delivery of the ad quite witty and cleverly executed. I sometimes feel intimidated and alienated by the hardcore athletes ridden in Nike ads as a dancer. I don t fall into the typical sports categories Nike targets so their models and athletes don t appeal to me. I am serious about dance, however, so I find that Brooks messaging and quality is a suitable middle ground for me. Impact Magazine, where this ad is found, is a serious fitness, performance, and sport magazine, is a little inconsistent with their overall image. Flipping through the magazine, all the other ads are much more serious and/or information intensive. As a result, however, Brooks ad stands out and grabs your attention. Although the ad overall is humorous and light hearted, they also include some jargon about their shoes tech (i.e. mid foot crash pad) that only serious runners would understand, including the reader. • 8. The Stereotype Of A Smart High Achieving Asian American... The model minority is a member of a minority group either based on ethnicity, race, or religion whose members are commonly perceived to achieve a higher level of success than the average population. The success that an individual reaches is typically measured by income, education, low crime rates and high family stability achieved throughout their lives. The stereotype of the model minority is commonly associated with Asian Americans as they are assumed to achieve highly in academics which will thus propel them up the economic ladder. The stereotype of a smart high achieving Asian American student is fueled by other stereotypes such as Asians being good at math and that they all go to college. The intelligence stereotypes created by society are the reason why some individuals feel pressured to succeed and feel as if failure is not as option. If its not the student who feels the pressure, than it is the parent that pushes to child to do well. So called helicopter parents, that push their children into professions or schools that the child may not want to attend, but have no choice as the school or profession will bring upon great fortune and pride to the family. Accident investigators found that a replacement windscreen had been installed 27 hours before the flight, and that the procedure had been approved by the Shift Maintenance Manager. 84 of the 90 windscreen retention bolts were 0.026 inches too small in diameter, while the remaining six were 0.1 inches too short ( British airways flight 5390, ). The investigation revealed that the previous windscreen had been fitted with incorrect bolts, which had been replaced on a like for like basis by the Shift Maintenance Manager without reference to the maintenance documentation. The air pressure difference between the cabin and the outside during the flight proved to be too much, leading to the failure of the windscreen. The incident also brought to attention a design flaw in the aircraft of the windscreen being secured from the outside of the aircraft, putting a greater stress on the bolts than if they were secured from the inside. Investigators blamed the British Airways Birmingham Airport Shift Maintenance Manager for installing the incorrect bolts during the windscreen replacement and for failing to follow official British Airways policies. They also found fault with British Airways policies, which should have required testing or verification by another person for this critical task. The main limitation and drawback in our study was that our results were compared to biopsy proven Gleason score not to post prostatectomy pathological results as only one of our patient underwent radical prostatectomy and rest of patients are non compatible to surgery either due to metastasis, old age or patient refusal. Second, our study are small (n =11) and ADC values correlation to biopsy proven Gleason score was done using only 66 core biopsy result, So larger studies are necessary to better assess our results. We recommend in later studies to use larger samples and compare the DWI ADC results to post prostatectomy pathological results so we can correlate the results to accurate Gleason score and even detect central gland carcinoma pathologically to compare with DWI MRI results. In conclusion our results prove high p values for correlating mean ADC value to Gleason score and median ADC values can be used as non invasive grading method for prostate cancer. References: 1. However, the district must first define their own requirements for a gifted program. Primarily, a higher than average IQ score, general good grades, leadership abilities, and creative abilities should be considered when looking to identify gifted students. While all of these characteristics are important, it is also important to note that students may not possess all of them, and may only have a gifted talent in one specific area of study. When a teacher suspects giftedness, they should refer the student to the guidance counselor or school psychologist, who can then set up a formal assessment to determine if the student has enough of the characteristics to qualify as gifted by the state. After students have been identified, it is then important to secure a GIEP (Gifted Individual Education Plan) and make greater opportunities available. (Wiesel 2006, p.XII). Night is a novel and an autobiography written by Elie Wiesel in 2006. In this book, Wiesel shares his four years of Horrifying experience at the concentration camps. The main purpose of writing this book is to show the audience how exactly the day to day life of the Jews were at the concentration camps. Two of the main points of this book are Relation and Faith. Wiesel has a good bond with his father that he doesn t lose no matter what circumstances they both went under. Through out the entire book, Wiesel shows his faith in god to the audience. There were times where he doubts in god and almost loses faith in him and humanity but then he continues to have faith in him. The author Elie Wiesel is a Noble prize winner and a teacher born on September 19, 1928 in Sighet, Transylvania. Wiesel wanted to study religion because of his religious background but unfortunately that could not happen because he was sent to the concentration camps at the age of twelve. I chose this book because it was something that I chose it in high school to write a paper on but I could not do it because it did not meet the requirements of the professors of my sophomore and junior year. • 14. Lyndon B. Johnson s Involvement In The Vietnam War The history of the Vietnam War had a violent beginning. Before the assassination of President Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson had little to no involvement in the Vietnam conflict. Beforehand the United States had mainly sent supplies and aid to South Vietnam against North Vietnam. After the assassination of both president Kennedy and the President of South Vietnam, the war became inevitable. After becoming President, Johnson had to focus on Vietnam and the spread of communism. The uprisings in South Vietnam after the assassination led Johnson to have more force than Kennedy ever did. The tipping point was the gulf of Tonkin incident. Two destroyers were attacked in the gulf of Tonkin off of Vietnam. This led to the gulf of Tonkin resolution. This joint resolution enacted by Congress gave the President power to use military force without a declaration of war. After the gulf incident Johnson s response to the public stated that he would not commit American troops to the ground to fight a foreign war. Shortly after the president learned that South Vietnam was losing and couldn t even protect United States establishments stationed there. After bombing key points in North Vietnam, Johnson started to escalate and sent ground troops in. From that moment on Johnson continued to escalate the war with more troops until president ... The increased use of antimicrobial agents in the recent years has resulted in the development of resistance to these drugs. Clinical threats have however been minimized by the availability of newer agents (Bonomo Tolmasky 2007). The World Health Organization (WHO) defines antimicrobial resistance as the resistance of a microorganism to an antimicrobial medicine to which it was previously sensitive (WHO 2012). A variety of resistance mechanisms have been developed by bacteria to counter the introduction of successive classes of antibiotics. Reflective Essay For The Regent University Counseling Program My timeline on the progression on life events that have led me to my current situation as a master s student in Regent University Counseling program. My interest in psychology has always been in me since I have been fascinated with how people think and what makes people act. The family around me helped peak my interest for the reason that they have lived thought provoking lives. For example, my mother left my father after being beat for ten years and how in my childhood I have seen how strong she is and how that tragic moment in her life has shaped her worldview. My story starts further along in my life then many people in my program. Until the age of 25 years old my lifestyle and worldview was simple, party and be true to my homies (non blood brothers). • 18. Obama s Plan And How It Would Evolve Over The Next Five... Looking into Clinton s plan and how it would evolve over the next five years, the themes of access and affordability shine through. She believes that all students should be able to obtain a public post secondary education (Clinton on the Issues: College, 2016). The current truth is that access and success in higher education continue to be stratified according to income... (Eckel King, 2004). With Clinton s plan access would increase, and with that enrollment would increase. Increased enrollment at college campuses strikes as an initially positive thought; more students can gain and education and contribute that education to bettering society. However, increase enrollment could lead to increase selectivity, if enrollment increased in extreme enough amounts. State schools, that were founded to offer quality education would now have a larger pool of student to pick from. For the state school s fortunate enough to the capacity to educate more student s their success would continue to increase. But what about the state schools that are already struggling with enrollment issues? Will they continue to live out their mission and increase enrollment at the expense of the student s education quality. For campuses that are already filled with students, larger incoming classes would lead to less enrollment options, larger classroom sizes, and the same campus resources spread thinner across a larger student body. Schools in this category would be forced to decide between decreasing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. What Extent Do Liberals Support Democracy To what extent do liberals support democracy (45 marks) Democracy is the ultimate political form of ideological liberalism. It refers to the ideal form of state, and is common to both classical and modern liberals. In the 19th century, liberals often saw democracy as threatening or dangerous. Political theorists such as Plato and Aristotle viewed democracy as being a system of rule at the expense of wisdom and property. The principle that the will of the majority should prevail over the minority may have negative effects. In Northern Ireland, a very divided religious country, if the 51% get their way, the other 49% will be in outrage. Since voting is done individually, it constraints the collective pressures of groups within society. To conclude, liberals are now staunch advocates of democracy as it provides personal development, consent and all individuals are equal. • 22. Future And Future Of Implants Future of Implants When I asked Dr. Marko about what he thinks will happen to implants in the future he stated: I expect that it will expand. He explained that current DBS technologies are seeing expanding indications for more and more diseases with good results. But beyond this, there are whole new domains of brain implants coming online and in the research pipeline. These include the whole field of brain computer interface, which allows the brain to control machines (e.g. prosthetic limbs). This is very promising, and some examples are already making it to real world application. Additional implants designed to improve memory, etc. are also being developed. The future of those is less certain, but I suspect they will improve and start to see practical application as time goes on [Marko]. One strong belief about the future of implants is that they will significantly reduce in size; nanoscale implants will be fully developed and will be comprised of materials with increased longevity so that there will be no need of additional surgeries for repair or replacements. With continued research and development of implants and advancements are made as a result of the Blue Brain Project, implants will be able to mend the symptoms of a larger range of diseases. This is extremely important, for millions of people will regain their abilities that were taken from them by a disease. Currently, deep brain stimulation implants focus on enhancing motor functions or mood. The deep ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ISIS is so isolated from the rest of the world, that they ve created their own currency in which it s citizens use for everything. It s also very profitable for the people who commit the terror acts. Dantes Inferno Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli demonstrated that the different critical exegetical positions, regarding the Divine Comedy (whose intent appears on one side as a disciplinary and moral renewal of the Church, and on the other side as a hidden, heretical reversion) were not free from contemporary pressures. In fact, their own theories are able to offer a valid evidence of the nineteenth century s political and religious debates, and for this reason, I am going to analyse the interpretation of Dante s work by Ugo Foscolo, through both, the Discorso sul testo della Divina Commedia , and two articles that Foscolo published in the Edinburgh Review in 1818; in addition, I am going to analyse the interpretation by Rossetti through his work titled ... These two institutions (Church and Empire), according Dante s thought, had to be both settled at the centre of Rome, as at the time of the Holy Roman Empire. In addition, according to Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, Dante attacked the Church exclusively because he wanted the renewal of the spiritual dimension, where the Church had to abandon its material interests, leaving exclusively to the Empire the task to unify Peoples under a unique government. In this way, both Church and Empire would have been able to help humankind for their spiritual and material ends. 2) Another common key of reading, for Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, is linked with the symbol of Beatrice, which is seen by the three interpreters, not as a real woman, but as a symbol of the wisdom, present in many ancient traditions. 3) I will try to highlight the fact that the esoteric reading of Dante, is considered by both, Foscolo and Rossetti in key heterodox, neo Pythagorean and Ghibelline, while it is considered by Valli in super catholic key. • 34. Empirical Formula Of Hydrate Lab The primary of this lab is about the hydrate. The hydrate is a compound formed by an ionic bond combined with the water molecule (known as water of hydration ) attached to it. So for every formula unit, there would be some amount of water molecule combined with the ionic compound and would act as a single compound. Our theoretical hydrate for this lab was CuSO4 * 5H2O. To remove the water from the compound and get the mass of the ionic compound, you need to follow the dehydrating procedure by heating. That would separate the ionic bond (CuSO4) from the water molecule (5H2O) once it reaches certain decomposition temperature. And to physically determine whether or not the water of hydration is removed, see the color, in our case, turning white from blue. Once the water molecules have entirely evaporated, the mass left would be the weight of the ionic compound (mass of CuSO4 in grams). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The empirical formula is a similar molecular formula but in its simplified ratio. While calculating, you need to find the percent of a part of the compound from the whole compound. Then find the moles of each composition and then calculate mole to mole ratio between copper(II) sulfate and water to achieve the possible empirical formula. But for the mole to mole ratio to work, you need to know the law of definite proportions. It says that every chemical compound would have certain proportion, by mass, of its composition and that ratio cannot be changed. So for example a mole of water would always have 1 mole of Oxygen and 2 moles of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bait And Switch Rhetorical Analysis Barbara Ehrenreich s Bait and Switch describes the experience of going undercover as a white collar job seeker in order to observe the culture of current corporate in America, particularly the transitional life of those white collar worker who has been laid off and is seeking for reemployment. Nevertheless, getting a job was much harder than Ehrenreich expected, so she subjected herself to endless networking events, job coaching, and even to an image makeover, all designed to make her more attractive to potential employers. Unfortunately, six months of schmoozing, hustling, and spending do not only fail to help Ehrenreich to get an expectant job, but also cost her several thousands of dollars. However, Barbara Ehrenreich s failure points out the issues people may face in job marker and gives several suggestions to help them to overcome those issues. Over accepting suggestions and ideas from other people without analyzing will mislead people from the right way. In Bait and Switch, the career coach offered their suggestions and homework without sense, and drove ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Ehrenreich was searching the job in job fair, she found it was wasting time. As she asked another job seeker in fair whether coming to job fair was worthwhile, he answered that I go to them anyway. It makes me feel like I am doing something (196). This is an example showing that a person has no understand about the self. Dewey also states that more fundamental is the fact that the great majority of workers have no insight into the social aims of their pursuits and no direct personal interest in them (Dewey, 66). That is to say, most people struggling in transition, they only pursue the job for the expectation from other, and they lack of thinking about their selves. Therefore, they have to require more and more help from government and institution such as networking and career coach, and follow the way other people make for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The whites were in power in the country of South Africa and judging others based simply by their skin color. According to the video blacks outnumbered whites 6 to 1, but still did not have the right to vote as the whites had complete control. Both sides were at odds with each other fueled by anger and unjustified resentment. Then when the 1995 rugby World Cup was being held in South Africa the South African team was heavy underdogs. The big news though was one of the better players on the team was a black man. This created some pride among their race and brought their attention to the games. South Africa ended up shocking the world as they won the World Cup. This was big news and had a tremendous impact on their fans. However, the biggest impact could not be measured by a trophy. The victory brought people together. Allowed people to realize there was no need for the fighting and that they were not so different after all. The 1995 South African rugby team highlights how sport can unite people, proving that social and political resolutions can be developed through sport. Nelson Mandela as a peaceful leader of the South African black community he realized what sports could do for dying down the racial tension. The sport was bringing everyone together. Instead of picking racial sides everyone was combined as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on The Death of Icarus Icarus plummeted into the cold dark water filling his lungs with the salty water, he sank to the bottom of the endless chasm and starved for air, for one last breath. He succumbed to the darkness it filled his mind and body, his life slipped away, he was dead. Daedalus landed near the island of Kythira analyzing the assault on his senses he noticed the island had a very faint sweet smell barely discernible in the company of the overbearing sea, this island was so pleasant starkly contrasting the death of his son. He knew there was a way to save Icarus; his body was lost but his soul would be saved, Icarus would be entering Hades realm presently, awaiting unspeakable tortures that he couldn t even imagine. Taking his crippled wings and bending them to the correct shapes he made the sail and rudder, finally he took his clothes and ripped of small pieces to fill with sand and tie to the ship for his descent. His ship was complete but he still had no way of reaching the bottom of the ocean without suffocating. His thoughts were continuous dead ends and the sticky residue from the trees was beginning to harden and immobilize his fingers so he placed them in the lukewarm waters of the mediterranean and slowly the sugary glass began to dissolve. the sugar dissolved so slowly he knew it was his only option so he broke more of the plants and harvested the syrup with a head sized rock he then smoothed it on the top and edges of the rock and made the top of his new helmet, he then flipped the rock over and made another bowl shaped glass with an opening for his head, fitting the two hardening pieces together he slathered on more of the syrup to seal the sphere. Pushing his craft into the water he opened up the wings, and sailed to Crete, unaware of his impending demise. Daedalus moved quickly to the sea north of Crete so he wouldn t be seen by any ships that could be in the area, he then slowed the ship above the entrance to the underworld and took disassembled the sail. • 38. Welch Mission Statement Critical Analysis: In order for corporations to be categorized winning corporations, there must be a set foundation that allows the corporation and the agents inside it, to move as a cohesive unit towards one mission. A clear mission is important because it is the base of the creation of a strategic plan in obtaining the results desired by the corporation. It is much easier to map out the plan towards a clear, concrete, and descriptive mission statement than one that can be misinterpreted by the employees making the calls within the corporation. But for a company s mission and values to truly work together as a winning proposition, they have to be mutually reinforcing (Welch 21). When the goal is not clear, it is hard to set the values―how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
