Editor's Notes

  • #3 See especially the re-organisation of the resources section
  • #4 The first of four We need editors –volunteers please
  • #9 Much of the ELESIG activities to date have focussed on those members who are able to attend the face to face events. Events continue to be oversubscribed and yet we know from the survey conducted in November 2009 that there are others who are unable to come due to location, funding or competing time commitments. In recent events we have been experimenting with capturing parts of sessions using a range of technologies e.g. twitter, elluminate and flipcams. This proposal is for additional funding to set up a process for capturing, storing and sharing elements of ELESIG events in audio and video format. The wider intention is to encourage ELESIG members to produce and share their own multimedia resources. We know from the number of small grant proposals that have suggested using video, that there is demand for such a service. Specifically we will Video record sections of the upcoming ELESIG events in April and July 2010, including key speakers and member’s corners. Select suitable home for sharing these video resources e.g. YouTube Channel, iTunesU presence. Publish guidelines for ELESIG members on producing and sharing their own video clips.
