This study was a step toward the creation of an e-module to creat flips bookbased
exposition
texts
for
junior
high
schools.
The
purpose
of
this
study
was
to
offer an examination of students' demands when creating exposition
papers. A survey was used for the investigation. The data for this inquiry
was gathered through a questionnaire. In this study, a Likert scale was
utilized to examine students' attitudes, opinions, and perceptions of the built
electronic module. This research made use of a checklist-style questionnaire
with a range of assessments of 1 to 5. The questionnaire was distributed to
students from four junior high schools. This sampling technique was based
on the sampling quota established by the researcher. The data analysis
technique involved converting the category value into an assessment score
and examining the result. According to the findings, 61.5% of students had
difficulties in interpreting the material of exposition text, and the rest of
80.1% desired that the exposition text writing content be presented using
entertaining, interactive, and innovative learning methods. This showed the
need for the preparation of electronic modules for writing flip book-based
exposition texts.

module content design which is enriched with digital-based information
sources or in another word called as hyper content that becomes a
differentiator in presenting the module content, coupled with the power of
audio and visual media or called as screencast. Through this research,
lecturers able to prepare independent learning materials by utilizing digital
technology.

This study was conducted with the aim of obtaining information about the design of assessment and evaluation digital book as well as deployment process of the digital book through asynchronous patterns. This study uses development method with the 4D design which focuses only on define and design phase. Parties involved in conducting design trial consist of two experts namely expert of education evaluation and expert of informatics engineering education, with a trial tool in the form of questionnaires. The technique was used to analyze the trial results data from those experts was descriptive quantitative with descriptive percentages calculation. In this research, the design result of assessment and evaluation digital book with Kvisoft Flipbook Maker and the initial design of deployment with an kelase asynchronous pattern are included in the good category with a percentages of 89.38% based on experts review.
The study investigated the effectiveness of the project writing training
developed and implemented for pre-service primary teachers. A case study
was adopted in the research. The participants of the study were 17 students
of the department of primary school teaching at nine different universities in
Turkey. In this context, an online project preparation training was given to
participant pre-service primary teachers. The prepared training was
presented to pre-service teachers as theoretical and practical. At the end of
this process, pre-service teachers were provided to prepare project proposals
under the guidance of academic consultancy. A semi-structured interview
form developed by the researchers was used to collect the research data. The
obtained data were subjected to descriptive and content analysis. Within the
scope of the research, it was determined that the participant pre-service
teachers had positive opinions about the planning of the developed education
and its contribution to them. It was concluded that some of the participants
had negative opinions about the duration, timing and onlineness of
the training.
Positive online learning experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic remain
debatable in the literature where students and instructors have been enforced
to shift from conventional face-to-face meetings to virtual learning. This
study aims to explore English for specific purposes (ESP) students’
experiences during online learning, along with their concerns on learning
attainment and personal adaptations. A qualitative case-study method was
employed through interviews with students (n=19) from three private
universities in Indonesia. The obtained data were analyzed through thematic
analysis. Results showed that students of different departments approached
ESP differently, but they similarly reported facing difficulties in reaching the
learning objectives. They also experienced burnout from excessive online
learning and found themselves hardly adapting to various instructors’
strategies. These findings revealed the need to revisit online ESP delivery
classes in higher education. Implications for the future design of online ESP
learning courses and instructor professional development are discussed.

development process; and iv) Finding the solutions in overcoming obstacles

practical, and effective to enhance students' conceptual mastery during the
post COVID-19 pandemic. The research and development model were
adapted from Plomp & Nieven consisted of three phases: preliminary
research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The first phase research
result was that the learning process in during COVID-19 pandemic was less
interactive, which led to less effective learning. The students' score on
conceptual mastery was in the poor category. The second phase resulted in a
book of CS-PBL model assisted by SIPEJAR and supporting instruments
considered valid by three experts. The third phase result was that the CSPBL
model assisted by SIPEJAR was considered practical in the learning
process implementation. The CS-PBL model can enhance students'
conceptual mastery where the N-gain was sufficiently effective. It is
concluded that the CS-PBL model assisted by SIPEJAR was considered
valid, practical, and effective to enhance students' conceptual mastery during
the post COVID-19 pandemic.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, education in Indonesia has shifted
from face-to-face learning to online learning via the internet and digital
technology. Therefore, digital literacy is a skill needed by vocational
students and teachers today. This study aimed to identify and analyze digital
literacy competency indicators to improve the quality of learning in high
vocational education. This research employed a systematic review method,
especially a qualitative meta-ethnographic approach, by reviewing various
studies related to digital literacy competencies from various journal articles
and conferences to then carry out the synthesis process. Meta-ethnography
as part of the systematic review method integrates data across studies to
obtain new theories and concepts with a deeper and more thorough
understanding. The results showed four competency factors and 28
indicators to improve digital literacy competence. This research can be the
basis of creating a digital literacy assessment model for high vocational
education in Indonesia.
This study aims to determine the views of students majoring in mathematics education and natural science faculty of teacher training and education science at Universitas Jambi to use electronic’s module in physics practicum which is based on science process skills. The study involved 117 students majoring in mathematics education and science which consists of 59 students of physical education and 58 students of mathematics education. This research is descriptive quantitative research in order to obtain information mean (M), median (Me), mode (Mo), percentage, the range of the maximum value and the minimum value. Data was collected by using questionnaires and interviews. Based on the research results from students’ perceptions of physical education in good category at 64.4% while the student's perception of mathematics education in good category amounting to 55.2%.
Online Collaborative Learning Based Module for Araling Panlipunan 10ijtsrd
The self learning module SLM is one of the learning resource materials that aims to guide students under these modalities – Digital Modular and Online Learning. This study used a mixed method of experimental and descriptive research to assess the status of Online Collaborative Learning Based Module in Araling Panlipunan 10 among Grade 10 students through the pre test of the control group exposed to Online Individual Learning Based Module and experimental group exposed to the Online Collaborative Learning Based Module in the third quarter topics in the Most Essential Learning Competencies MELCs and the students’ learning experiences as to the use of the module based on the characteristics such as Social Interaction, Teamwork, and Individual Accountability. This study was conducted in Gun ob High School during the School Year 2019 2020. The improvement of the self learning module with online collaborative learning activities was crafted to address the students challenges in the new normal education. This study revealed that the students have better academic performance or scores in Araling Panlipunan 10 when they work their tasks by groups with the use of Online Collaborative Learning Based Module rather than doing it individually. The findings and conclusion indicate that it is recommended to use this modified self learning module especially for those students enrolled in Online Learning and Digital Modular Learning Modality. Design and Implementation Multimedia Learning Success for Vocational Schools IJECEIAES
This research aims to design a web-based multimedia applications, interactive learning, in order to improve the learning outcomes of students, especially students of Vocational High School. Multimedia Learning has been designed with some additional content in the form of applications: decision support system for multimedia usage based on Model of Multimedia Learning Success. The population obtained from respondents vocational school in Central Java, which is already implementing multimedia learning. The method used is qualitative analysis in the form of: the development of multimedia learning integrated with decision support systems. Design and implementation of multimedia learning success system that is abbreviated "Sikemuning". Sikemuning can be used to measure or provide guidance for teachers in the use of multimedia. Interviews with several respondents teachers from vocational schools in Central Java showed that: the system success multimedia learning developed in this study can be used as feedback to assess the success and effectiveness of the implementation of learning activities, multimedia learning can improve the performance and intelligence of vocational school students.

Purpose of this research is to determine the students' point of view about web based intelligent tutoring system's (WBITS) availability, effects on the success and contribution to learning about work, energy and conservation of energy topics. The system will be evaluated on student's angle of view. Intelligence tutoring system that used on the research is used only online by 21 Elementary School Math Teacher candidate for 4 weeks on Physics I course. Public opinion poll that developed by the researchers have used as a data gathering tool. Data gathered in this research has analyzed by descriptive statistical method. Participant students have underlined that web based intelligent tutoring systems are effective on physics courses. Mathematics teacher candidates have expressed their opinion that it is helpful to use the WBITS because it is not depending on time and place, it has capability to serve lots of events and problem solving possibility and it is helping to increase the education performance.
Currently, we are facing the rapid development of information and
communication technology (ICT) that characterizes the 21st century.
Challenges, problems, life, and careers in the 21st century can be
successfully faced if we master the 21st century skills. However, nowadays
it is still very rare to develop a 21st century skill measurement model, so it is
necessary to develop test instruments to measure 21st century skills. The
development of test instruments to measure 21st century skills in Indonesia
is still very open by paying attention to the clarity of the instrument in
describing real phenomena and complete data as material for problem
solving. Based on the description above, the researchers developed a
multiple-choice test based on experimental activities to measure students’
21st century skills which are creativity, critical thinking, collaboration,
communication (4Cs) in heat and heat transfer using research and
development (R&D) methods with the analyze, design, develop, implement,
and evaluate (ADDIE) stage. Development begins with conducting literature
and field studies, designing and making videos of experiment activities,
compiling open-ended questions, distributing them to 12th graders of
science, analyzing answers based on references, developing answer options,
developing multiple choice tests, conducting validation by experts, and
testing limited to students. The product of this research is expected to be
used by educators and students for independent learning activities or as an
example to develop multiple choice tests based on experimental activities to
measure 21st century skills in other physics materials and other subjects.
This study proposes to present a sample design of a flipped learning instructional model for teaching Islamic Studies course at an Indonesian higher education institution. A bottom-up flipped learning model was developed in this study, based on Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives. A Learning Management System (LMS), Schoology, was employed as a platform to share pre-class video lectures for student learning activities outside-of-class. Three main activities proposed by the researchers outside of the class activities, namely, Watching, Summarizing, and Notetaking (WSN), whereas give and take conversation is the main class activity. This study implies that the bottom-up flipped learning model could potentially be implemented for teaching Islamic studies course in Indonesian higher education institutions, with the aim of fostering students' highest level of cognitive domains and independent learning skills. This study has implications for the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia or policymakers to consider the flipped classroom as a contemporary teaching model for teaching Islamic studies course and other subjects at any in Indonesian higher education institutions.
This exploratory study was aimed at evaluating a module on the basis of the constructivist learning strategies to enhance the students’ motivation in Statistics learning. The design and development followed the Universal Design of Learning principles. The design included flexible instructional materials, techniques, and strategies for differentiating instruction which benefited the students of English Education Department taking the Statistics course. The study used a survey covering of 33 students. The students’ and teacher’ responses to questionnaires revealed that the students’ motivation and satisfaction increased toward the Statistics course in which Universal Design of Learning using various means of representation, action, and engagement was applied. It also suggested that the module was effective and that the Universal Design of Learning Model from the learners’ viewpoint put more emphasis on instruction. Its content was suitable in designing and developing module on Statistics in the higher educational context in Indonesia. The study results are expected to reveal information on how to further improve the Statistics teaching and learning quality. The implications of the research are provided along with suggestions.

A systematic literature study including articles from 2016 to 2022 was done to evaluate the various approaches, technologies, and implementation models involved in measuring student engagement during learning. The review’s objective was to compile and analyze all studies that investigated how instructors can gauge students’ mental states while teaching and assess the most effective teaching methods. Additionally, it aims to extract and assess expanded methodologies from chosen research publications to offer suggestions and answers to researchers and practitioners. Planning, carrying out the analysis, and publishing the results have all received significant attention in the research approach. The study’s findings indicate that more needs to be done to evaluate student participation objectively and follow their development for improved academic performance. Physiological approaches should be given more support among the alternatives. While deep learning implementation models and contactless technology should interest more researchers. And, the recommender system should be integrated into e-learning system. Other approaches, technologies, and methodology articles, on the other hand, lacked authenticity in conveying student feeling.
This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of E-Module learning media in Electromechanical Work Basic Subjects. This research is a development research using ADDIE model. The product developed is emodule learning media on subjects in Electromechanical Basic Work. Data collection is done by means of observation, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis. This research was conducted on 128 students of 10th grade Department Electrical Installation Engineering in Vocational High School in Serang, Banten. The results of the research are Media validation is very feasible with a percentage of 95.3%. Material validation is very feasible with a percentage of 97.9%. The results of the questionnaire evaluation data of small group trials get an average percentage value of 91.7% and in the very feasible category. The results of the assessment in the large group trial data questionnaire received very decent results with a percentage of 92.4%. The results of the exercises carried out an average value of 92.1 before using learning media the average value obtained by students 80.5. The results of the evaluation scores get an average value of 88.5. The e-module learning media in Electromechanical Basic Work subjects can facilitate students in the learning process and facilitate the teacher in teaching.
Digital literacy has been a major concern for people involved in education
sectors including students, teachers and policy makers. Thus, to make the
education in this era more effective to help reach the goals, English teachers
should be digitally more literate. The aims of this study are; 1) to find out
how the digital literacy was implemented; 2) to determine teachers’ attitude
in implementing the digital literacy; 3) to scrutinize the challenges; and 4)
the actions they took to cope with them. Employing a qualitative research
method, this study used a semi-structured interview and classroom
observation to collect the data from two EFL teachers at a junior high school
in Temanggung, Central Java, Indonesia as the subjects. The data were then
identified, categorized, organized, coded, described and reported following
the thematic analysis. The findings showed that they used computer and
smartphone to search for digital information. The teachers exhibited positive
attitudes in the use of digital literacy for EFL teaching. They used syllabus as
a major consideration, understood their position as teachers, developed
effective teaching, implemented multiple literacy and improved the four
language skills. However, issues related to lack of technology, students’
background, lack of time and limited budget were acknowledged as
hindrances in digital literacy implementation. As a strategy, teachers have
therefore developed an early planning and support plan to deal with these
challenges. Finally, this study suggests the need to develop teachers'
technical facilities, technological pedagogy, and policy makers to give digital
literacy more attention.
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using an interactive emodule
to reduce students’ misconceptions on salt hydrolysis material at
grade XI in senior high school. This study implemented a pre-experiment
with one group pretest-posttest research design, which utilized one class as
the experimental class. Samples were selected by using purposive sampling
technique, and it was obtained one class as the experimental class, namely
class XI in State Madrasah Aliyah 1 Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia. Before
giving the treatment, the sample was administered a pretest and after the
treatment, they were given a posttest. The pretest and posttest questions
occupied three-tier multiple choice questions. The reduction of
misconceptions on Salt Hydrolysis material after using the interactive emodule
was
16.21%.

The Development of Edmodo-Based E-learning in Mathematics for Class V at Dr. ...IJAEMSJORNAL
This study aims to produce an Edmodo-based e-learning development product in mathematics class V at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Primary School and to know the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed Edmodo-based e-learning media. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with ADDIE model where each stage is interconnected and in stages in producing development products. The research subjects in this study are the design, media, learning material experts, the teacher, and the students. The hypothesis proposed of this study is that the development media products on Edmodo-based e-learning are feasible and effective for use in the learning process of mathematics. The data is collected through questionnaire by research subject assessment instrument and posttest from learning outcome instrument. The feasibility of the media is obtained through the validation and testing by research subjects where the average percentage of the results of the assessment of design, media, and learning material experts is 89.3%, while the average percentage of the results of teacher and student assessments in the trial of individual and groups of students is 90.5% who fall into the “Very Appropriate” category. The product effectiveness test from the learning outcome test data on the research hypothesis test through one-party test obtained tcount > ttable (2.3798 > 1.66980), which means that students’ mathematics learning outcomes with Edmodo-based e-learning were higher than students who studied conventional truth-tested. Thus development media products on Edmodo-based e-learning are feasible and effective for use in the learning process and can improve student learning outcomes compared to conventional learning.

Systematic, Active, Effective (SAE) e-module model that can build learning independence and competency of
students in Mathematics Education study programs. This research employed the developmental research method
with the stages of development: preliminary studies, design, development, and testing. This study documented
that most of the students were interested in lectures on analytical geometry utilizing module teaching materials
in the form of interactive electronics (interactive e-modules) that could build student learning independence and
easily understand them. For this reason, it is necessary to develop teaching materials that are easy to understand,
namely interactive e-modules in the field of analytical geometry. At the design stage, this study captured the
results of the initial draft e-module interactive analytical geometry with systematic: introduction (preface,
instructions for using e-modules, material description, prerequisites, learning objectives), learning activities
include: a description of the material and examples of questions, practice exercises, summaries, competency
tests, practice answer instructions, feedback, and reference lists. At the development stage, an interactive draft
geometry e-module product draft was produced. The e-module draft is an interactive analytical geometry that is
designed and developed systematically and effectively and enables students to build learning independently by
adhering to the principles of developing teaching materials in learning. In the testing phase, the results of the
trial on the draft e-module were limited to students, and the overall average score was 3.27, which means that
the students considered that the analytical geometry interactive e-module product was good.

The purpose of this research was to know the implementation of the design model evaluation of CSE-UCLA (Center for the Study of EvaluationUniversity of California in Los Angeles) modified by the weighted product method into an application evaluation and conduct field trials against simulation application in order to obtain a reliable application used in evaluating digital library services as a complementary learning process at a computer college in Bali. The method that was used in this research was R&D, with a model design of the Borg and the Gall consists of 10 development stages. However, specialized on research this year implemented making the application and field trials as a form of implementation of the draft models that have been produced the previous year. The subject of the research involved in the simulation field trials as much as 2 education experts and 2 informatics experts. Technical analysis in this research was descriptive statistics. The results obtained in this research in the form of applications that have been tested and ready to use for the test on the more respondent and wider coverage.
This study aims to reveal the profile of open-start problem-solving with ethnomathematics regarding student learning styles. This research is a qualitative research study on 3 out of 31 students of Junior High School of 3 Magetan taken by purposive sampling. The three students carried out four stages: understanding the problem, planning problem-solving strategies, implementing problem-solving strategies, and reviewing again. The results of the research show that students with a visual learning style solve problems by understanding problems through writing known and being asked and drawing illustrations, planning problem-solving strategies by making examples, carrying out solving strategies by working on the calculation process; students with an auditory learning style solve problems by understanding problems through writing known and being asked, planning strategies by making problems and formulating formulas used, implementing solutions by doing calculations and reviewing; students with a kinesthetic learning style solve problems by understanding issues through writing known and being asked, making examples and writing the formulas used, carrying out solving strategies by applying the calculation process and reviewing the results obtained. However, of the three styles, the results of the accepted work were not correct because they did not write down the conclusions and were not thorough enough.
The volunteer function inventory (VFI) is an assessment tool to measure individual volunteer motivation. VFI measures individual motivation to volunteer by examining the functional motives of each volunteer. This research aimed to adapt the VFI to the Indonesian language. VFI consists of 30 items divided into five dimensions. This study utilized a non-experimental quantitative research method. Samples were acquired by accidental random sampling with N = 176. In this study, reliability testing was carried out with items and dimensions of Cronbach's α. Validity tests were examined using construct validity and item analysis. The results of the Indonesian version of VFI showed high reliability and validity. Besides, the item analysis also shows that the quality of each item is excellent. The Indonesian version of VFI will be suitable for various education fields in Indonesia to measure the students' voluntary willingness in community development activities, for example, in measuring the impact of volunteerism in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) social activities and other activities within the communities.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, education in Indonesia has shifted
from face-to-face learning to online learning via the internet and digital
technology. Therefore, digital literacy is a skill needed by vocational
students and teachers today. This study aimed to identify and analyze digital
literacy competency indicators to improve the quality of learning in high
vocational education. This research employed a systematic review method,
especially a qualitative meta-ethnographic approach, by reviewing various
studies related to digital literacy competencies from various journal articles
and conferences to then carry out the synthesis process. Meta-ethnography
as part of the systematic review method integrates data across studies to
obtain new theories and concepts with a deeper and more thorough
understanding. The results showed four competency factors and 28
indicators to improve digital literacy competence. This research can be the
basis of creating a digital literacy assessment model for high vocational
education in Indonesia.
This study aims to determine the views of students majoring in mathematics education and natural science faculty of teacher training and education science at Universitas Jambi to use electronic’s module in physics practicum which is based on science process skills. The study involved 117 students majoring in mathematics education and science which consists of 59 students of physical education and 58 students of mathematics education. This research is descriptive quantitative research in order to obtain information mean (M), median (Me), mode (Mo), percentage, the range of the maximum value and the minimum value. Data was collected by using questionnaires and interviews. Based on the research results from students’ perceptions of physical education in good category at 64.4% while the student's perception of mathematics education in good category amounting to 55.2%.
Online Collaborative Learning Based Module for Araling Panlipunan 10ijtsrd
The self learning module SLM is one of the learning resource materials that aims to guide students under these modalities – Digital Modular and Online Learning. This study used a mixed method of experimental and descriptive research to assess the status of Online Collaborative Learning Based Module in Araling Panlipunan 10 among Grade 10 students through the pre test of the control group exposed to Online Individual Learning Based Module and experimental group exposed to the Online Collaborative Learning Based Module in the third quarter topics in the Most Essential Learning Competencies MELCs and the students’ learning experiences as to the use of the module based on the characteristics such as Social Interaction, Teamwork, and Individual Accountability. This study was conducted in Gun ob High School during the School Year 2019 2020. The improvement of the self learning module with online collaborative learning activities was crafted to address the students challenges in the new normal education. This study revealed that the students have better academic performance or scores in Araling Panlipunan 10 when they work their tasks by groups with the use of Online Collaborative Learning Based Module rather than doing it individually. The findings and conclusion indicate that it is recommended to use this modified self learning module especially for those students enrolled in Online Learning and Digital Modular Learning Modality. Design and Implementation Multimedia Learning Success for Vocational Schools IJECEIAES
This research aims to design a web-based multimedia applications, interactive learning, in order to improve the learning outcomes of students, especially students of Vocational High School. Multimedia Learning has been designed with some additional content in the form of applications: decision support system for multimedia usage based on Model of Multimedia Learning Success. The population obtained from respondents vocational school in Central Java, which is already implementing multimedia learning. The method used is qualitative analysis in the form of: the development of multimedia learning integrated with decision support systems. Design and implementation of multimedia learning success system that is abbreviated "Sikemuning". Sikemuning can be used to measure or provide guidance for teachers in the use of multimedia. Interviews with several respondents teachers from vocational schools in Central Java showed that: the system success multimedia learning developed in this study can be used as feedback to assess the success and effectiveness of the implementation of learning activities, multimedia learning can improve the performance and intelligence of vocational school students.

Purpose of this research is to determine the students' point of view about web based intelligent tutoring system's (WBITS) availability, effects on the success and contribution to learning about work, energy and conservation of energy topics. The system will be evaluated on student's angle of view. Intelligence tutoring system that used on the research is used only online by 21 Elementary School Math Teacher candidate for 4 weeks on Physics I course. Public opinion poll that developed by the researchers have used as a data gathering tool. Data gathered in this research has analyzed by descriptive statistical method. Participant students have underlined that web based intelligent tutoring systems are effective on physics courses. Mathematics teacher candidates have expressed their opinion that it is helpful to use the WBITS because it is not depending on time and place, it has capability to serve lots of events and problem solving possibility and it is helping to increase the education performance.
Currently, we are facing the rapid development of information and
communication technology (ICT) that characterizes the 21st century.
Challenges, problems, life, and careers in the 21st century can be
successfully faced if we master the 21st century skills. However, nowadays
it is still very rare to develop a 21st century skill measurement model, so it is
necessary to develop test instruments to measure 21st century skills. The
development of test instruments to measure 21st century skills in Indonesia
is still very open by paying attention to the clarity of the instrument in
describing real phenomena and complete data as material for problem
solving. Based on the description above, the researchers developed a
multiple-choice test based on experimental activities to measure students’
21st century skills which are creativity, critical thinking, collaboration,
communication (4Cs) in heat and heat transfer using research and
development (R&D) methods with the analyze, design, develop, implement,
and evaluate (ADDIE) stage. Development begins with conducting literature
and field studies, designing and making videos of experiment activities,
compiling open-ended questions, distributing them to 12th graders of
science, analyzing answers based on references, developing answer options,
developing multiple choice tests, conducting validation by experts, and
testing limited to students. The product of this research is expected to be
used by educators and students for independent learning activities or as an
example to develop multiple choice tests based on experimental activities to
measure 21st century skills in other physics materials and other subjects.
This study proposes to present a sample design of a flipped learning instructional model for teaching Islamic Studies course at an Indonesian higher education institution. A bottom-up flipped learning model was developed in this study, based on Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives. A Learning Management System (LMS), Schoology, was employed as a platform to share pre-class video lectures for student learning activities outside-of-class. Three main activities proposed by the researchers outside of the class activities, namely, Watching, Summarizing, and Notetaking (WSN), whereas give and take conversation is the main class activity. This study implies that the bottom-up flipped learning model could potentially be implemented for teaching Islamic studies course in Indonesian higher education institutions, with the aim of fostering students' highest level of cognitive domains and independent learning skills. This study has implications for the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia or policymakers to consider the flipped classroom as a contemporary teaching model for teaching Islamic studies course and other subjects at any in Indonesian higher education institutions.
This exploratory study was aimed at evaluating a module on the basis of the constructivist learning strategies to enhance the students’ motivation in Statistics learning. The design and development followed the Universal Design of Learning principles. The design included flexible instructional materials, techniques, and strategies for differentiating instruction which benefited the students of English Education Department taking the Statistics course. The study used a survey covering of 33 students. The students’ and teacher’ responses to questionnaires revealed that the students’ motivation and satisfaction increased toward the Statistics course in which Universal Design of Learning using various means of representation, action, and engagement was applied. It also suggested that the module was effective and that the Universal Design of Learning Model from the learners’ viewpoint put more emphasis on instruction. Its content was suitable in designing and developing module on Statistics in the higher educational context in Indonesia. The study results are expected to reveal information on how to further improve the Statistics teaching and learning quality. The implications of the research are provided along with suggestions.

A systematic literature study including articles from 2016 to 2022 was done to evaluate the various approaches, technologies, and implementation models involved in measuring student engagement during learning. The review’s objective was to compile and analyze all studies that investigated how instructors can gauge students’ mental states while teaching and assess the most effective teaching methods. Additionally, it aims to extract and assess expanded methodologies from chosen research publications to offer suggestions and answers to researchers and practitioners. Planning, carrying out the analysis, and publishing the results have all received significant attention in the research approach. The study’s findings indicate that more needs to be done to evaluate student participation objectively and follow their development for improved academic performance. Physiological approaches should be given more support among the alternatives. While deep learning implementation models and contactless technology should interest more researchers. And, the recommender system should be integrated into e-learning system. Other approaches, technologies, and methodology articles, on the other hand, lacked authenticity in conveying student feeling.
This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of E-Module learning media in Electromechanical Work Basic Subjects. This research is a development research using ADDIE model. The product developed is emodule learning media on subjects in Electromechanical Basic Work. Data collection is done by means of observation, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis. This research was conducted on 128 students of 10th grade Department Electrical Installation Engineering in Vocational High School in Serang, Banten. The results of the research are Media validation is very feasible with a percentage of 95.3%. Material validation is very feasible with a percentage of 97.9%. The results of the questionnaire evaluation data of small group trials get an average percentage value of 91.7% and in the very feasible category. The results of the assessment in the large group trial data questionnaire received very decent results with a percentage of 92.4%. The results of the exercises carried out an average value of 92.1 before using learning media the average value obtained by students 80.5. The results of the evaluation scores get an average value of 88.5. The e-module learning media in Electromechanical Basic Work subjects can facilitate students in the learning process and facilitate the teacher in teaching.
Digital literacy has been a major concern for people involved in education
sectors including students, teachers and policy makers. Thus, to make the
education in this era more effective to help reach the goals, English teachers
should be digitally more literate. The aims of this study are; 1) to find out
how the digital literacy was implemented; 2) to determine teachers’ attitude
in implementing the digital literacy; 3) to scrutinize the challenges; and 4)
the actions they took to cope with them. Employing a qualitative research
method, this study used a semi-structured interview and classroom
observation to collect the data from two EFL teachers at a junior high school
in Temanggung, Central Java, Indonesia as the subjects. The data were then
identified, categorized, organized, coded, described and reported following
the thematic analysis. The findings showed that they used computer and
smartphone to search for digital information. The teachers exhibited positive
attitudes in the use of digital literacy for EFL teaching. They used syllabus as
a major consideration, understood their position as teachers, developed
effective teaching, implemented multiple literacy and improved the four
language skills. However, issues related to lack of technology, students’
background, lack of time and limited budget were acknowledged as
hindrances in digital literacy implementation. As a strategy, teachers have
therefore developed an early planning and support plan to deal with these
challenges. Finally, this study suggests the need to develop teachers'
technical facilities, technological pedagogy, and policy makers to give digital
literacy more attention.
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using an interactive emodule
to reduce students’ misconceptions on salt hydrolysis material at
grade XI in senior high school. This study implemented a pre-experiment
with one group pretest-posttest research design, which utilized one class as
the experimental class. Samples were selected by using purposive sampling
technique, and it was obtained one class as the experimental class, namely
class XI in State Madrasah Aliyah 1 Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia. Before
giving the treatment, the sample was administered a pretest and after the
treatment, they were given a posttest. The pretest and posttest questions
occupied three-tier multiple choice questions. The reduction of
misconceptions on Salt Hydrolysis material after using the interactive emodule
was
16.21%.

The Development of Edmodo-Based E-learning in Mathematics for Class V at Dr. ...IJAEMSJORNAL
This study aims to produce an Edmodo-based e-learning development product in mathematics class V at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Primary School and to know the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed Edmodo-based e-learning media. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with ADDIE model where each stage is interconnected and in stages in producing development products. The research subjects in this study are the design, media, learning material experts, the teacher, and the students. The hypothesis proposed of this study is that the development media products on Edmodo-based e-learning are feasible and effective for use in the learning process of mathematics. The data is collected through questionnaire by research subject assessment instrument and posttest from learning outcome instrument. The feasibility of the media is obtained through the validation and testing by research subjects where the average percentage of the results of the assessment of design, media, and learning material experts is 89.3%, while the average percentage of the results of teacher and student assessments in the trial of individual and groups of students is 90.5% who fall into the “Very Appropriate” category. The product effectiveness test from the learning outcome test data on the research hypothesis test through one-party test obtained tcount > ttable (2.3798 > 1.66980), which means that students’ mathematics learning outcomes with Edmodo-based e-learning were higher than students who studied conventional truth-tested. Thus development media products on Edmodo-based e-learning are feasible and effective for use in the learning process and can improve student learning outcomes compared to conventional learning.

Digital history-based project-based learning (PjBL) in history learning is a learning medium that can provide a special attraction for students who can improve historical concept skills and historical awareness. However, there are still many teachers who have not used it, so it is very important to study it. This research aims to analyze the influence of the digital history based PJBL model in improving historical concept skills and historical awareness. The method used is quasi-experimental with two classes, experimental and control. The population used class XI high school students in Lampung, Indonesia and the sample size was 213. Cluster random sampling was used to determine sampling, while data collection was in the form of test instruments. The test instrument questions were analyzed using the gain score and Kruskal-Walli’s test to determine the increase in historical concept skills and historical awareness with the help of statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) 26. The research results confirmed that digital history based PjBL was effective in increasing historical concept skills and historical awareness with a high score, making it the best choice to overcome obstacles in history learning.
This study aims to determine how using an active learning model based on the three higher education principles can improve students' active learning. Qualitative research methods were applied in this study, with data collection through interviews, literature study, and observation. The results showed that active learning based on the three higher education principles was included in the "good" or "acceptable" category. The application of this model can make this campus a place with a positive academic atmosphere that enhances and supports collaboration, discussion, and positive and critical thinking. The novelty of this research lies in the use of active learning with mini-research projects, which are developed based on university principles and embody it. The hope is that this can help solve problems in the student learning process at the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The expected implication is that the university's policy supports applying the model to resolve learning problems and build real scientists for students.
Integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in teacher education is a means to support the teaching and learning process. Good teaching by utilizing technology certainly requires changes, especially in the realm of pedagogy, but teachers apparently do not have enough ability to optimize ICT in the learning process. In fact, ICT has the potential to provide various benefits for teachers and students, including joint learning areas, cooperative and collaborative learning opportunities. Therefore, this research aims to identify the use of mobile learning application (MLA) and its impact as a form of ICT integration in learning. The method used is literature study, by taking data from various relevant scientific articles and books. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis from the results of the synthesis of several literature reviews obtained. The research results show that a number of 10 main articles and 15 relevant supporting articles as well as several book sources show that mobile-based learning with smartphone devices is becoming a trend at various levels of education, both academic and vocational.
Incorporating ethnoscience into lessons through the ethnoscience-students’ worksheet (ESW) is one method to improve student interest in science learning while introducing them to the local culture. However, no research was reported the effects of ESW on students' responses and the factors that influence ESW implementation in science learning. In order to better understand how students learn through ESW, this study investigated the relationship between ethnoscience context, science learning, and the implementation of students’ worksheets. Seventy-two students participated in the survey after they studied ethnoscience learning through ESW. Students’ responses are more influenced by science learning. In addition, the ethnoscience-integrated students’ worksheets (SW) variable indirectly affects students’ responses. Additionally, ESW affects students' responses more significantly than science learning and ethnoscience. This research provides insightful implications for educators on planning, designing, and practicing ESW to enhance students’ problem-solving motivation and academic achievement. Furthermore, to contribute significantly to future researchers, further research employed the structural equation model through covariance analysis, also known as confirmatory factor analysis (CFA).
This research aimed to assess the readiness of Indonesian pre-service science teachers by examining their perceptions of impending challenges, desired competencies, and anticipated instructional methodologies in preparing for the challenges of Society 5.0. Using a quantitative survey research methodology, 884 pre-service science teachers from 16 universities were surveyed. The research instrument's validity and reliability were assessed utilizing the Rasch model. Inferential statistics were employed to assess the readiness of pre-service science teachers for future challenges, taking into account their backgrounds. The test outcomes showed the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient reached 0.92, is deemed "excellent", affirming the instrument's high reliability. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of teachers share a consistent perception of future challenges and recognize the importance of mastering 21st-century skills, particularly critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration. However, respondents believe that the current learning process does not adequately train these skills. They expressed a desire for an alternative learning method that can enhance their skills while accommodating their diverse backgrounds, including place of residence, economic background, and technological proficiency. Further research is needed to identify alternative teaching methods that can effectively foster these abilities in diverse backgrounds.
The issue of psychological well-being in education has emerged as an increasingly critical topic in recent years. This is due to the significance of psychological well-being in enhancing the performance of e ducational institutions, encompassing students, teachers, and the process of formulating school policies. This study sought to discover recent research on psychological well-being from an academic perspective. A total of 27 research articles were successfully gathered and reviewed based on the established criteria. This article review was conducted utilizing two databases (SCOPUS and WoS) and the following keywords: "psychological well-being" combined with "AND" and other search terms such as "school", "teacher", and "student". This systematic review offers a synthesis of results that can serve as the initial step in developing constructs of psychological well-being in educational institutions, thus implying the importance of psychological well-being for teachers and students. The results of the analysis from this systematic literature review have been discussed and concluded in this study.
This study aims to investigate Indonesian senior high school teachers’ perceptions of using the first language (L1) when teaching English because Indonesian teachers tend to have negative perceptions toward the application of the L1, while the L1 is needed in a situation where Indonesian students have limited skills in English. The semi-structured interview was applied to collect data, while thematic analysis was used to analyse it. The result showed that the teachers have three different positions in perceiving the use of the L1: the virtual position, maximal, and optimal positions. Although they have different perceptions toward the application of the L1, a major insight can be concluded about the limited use of the L1 for specific reasons, such as considering teachers’ and students’ English abilities, learners’ needs, and the type and the difficulty of the given task or assignment. The L1 can be functioned as scaffolding in three aspects: when teaching grammar, vocabulary, and when giving instructions. Teachers may consider this study’s results as the information to use the L1 in classrooms. This may also be beneficial for Indonesian educational stakeholders and the government to specifically define what type of scaffolding that teachers can use the L1 to teach English.
The Smile project is an engineering service-learning initiative carried out through collaboration between Chouaib Doukkali University in Morocco and Pusan National University in South Korea. Since 2016, this project has been conducted annually for engineering students from both universities. Participants are selected through an oral interview, ensuring representation from different majors, years, and genders. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project transitioned to an online mode starting from 2020. The objective of this article is to investigate the impact of the service-learning approach on learning and its potential for enhancing engineering education. This study aims to compare the face-to-face and online implementations of the Smileproject as examples of this educational approach. The analysis demonstrates a strong positive effect of engineering service-learning as a learning approach, leading to the improvement of engineering students' skills and competencies. Notably, there is minimal difference between the two implementation modes of this learning approach.
Assessment is an important component of learning which aims to determine student achievement in learning. However, the pandemic has changed how assessment is carried out, prompting teachers to look for new strategies in carrying out mathematics learning assessments under any conditions, whether in normal conditions or during a pandemic. This study described the strategies used by high school mathematics teachers in assessing mathematics learning during the pandemic towards the post-pandemic period. This type of research is descriptive exploratory research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were three mathematics teachers, three principals, and three vice principals from a public senior high school in Yogyakarta City, Indonesia. Qualitative data were collected by means of questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively according to Bogdan and Biklen. The results of the study reveal that the mathematics teacher’s strategy for carrying out assessments during a pandemic includes: i) determining the appropriate online assessment platform that suits the needs; ii) assessment based on student participation; iii) using various of online assessment methods; iv) prioritizing academic integrity and honesty in the assessment implementation; and v) carry out the management and reporting of data on the results of the assessment in accordance with established procedures.
This study examined the role of technology integration and teachers' professional competence in developing 21st-century learning. Present studies show a significant gap between technology integration and teachers’ competency in developing 21st-century learning. This study highlights the pivotal roles of technology integration and teacher competence in modern education. In an era where technology has transformed teaching and learning, understanding the synergy between these two factors is crucial for educational advancements. The study employs a descriptive quantitative approach. It seeks to understand the current state of technology integration and teacher competence by collecting data from in-service teachers within the English teacher's forum. The data collection methods encompass questionnaires and interviews to gain comprehensive insights into the subject matter. The research design of this study primarily relies on a descriptive approach, which involves the systematic collection and analysis of data to describe and understand the existing situation. The data-gathering process, through questionnaires and interviews, ensures a comprehensive exploration of the research questions. The results show that technology integration and teacher competency significantly influence the development of 21st-century learning.
Aware of the various issues involved in assessing learning, but also of the difficulties encountered in classroom practice of this pedagogical act, we set out in this article to explore and analyze the assessment practices of secondary school mathematics teachers and the conceptions they underlie. The study was conducted from a systemic perspective. We therefore targeted three aspects in our study: the conceptual, the institutional, and the docimological. Analysis of the attitudes declared by a random sample of mathematics teachers enabled us to confirm that pedagogical, and in particular cognitive, issues do not represent a priority for them in assessment practices. They focus more on the organizational aspect of examinations, with a remarkable lack of concern for docimological considerations to give credibility to the assessments carried out.
This study aimed to investigate decreasing student academic stress in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, transition period, and new normal era by giving a self-help module to students. This research employed an experimental approach with a group pre-test post-test design with quantitative analytics. The perceived academic stress scale (PASS) and module evaluation scale were utilized to assess students' academic stress levels and their understanding of the module. The subjects consisted of one male student and thirty-seven female students, as the school was dominated by female students. This study indicated that students' academic stress levels during the pandemic and the new normal were in the medium range (18.82 - 19.97). The results showed that there was no significant difference in academic stress between the pandemic and the transition period (t = 1.322, p > 0.05) and the data between the pandemic and the new normal (t = -1.426, p > 0.05), while between the transition period and the new normal, it showed a significant difference (t = -4.189, p < 0.05). The study recommends that schools develop future guidance and counseling programs to help students cope with stress and build resilience. This study's findings can inform policy decisions and academic interventions to support students' mental health and academic success during challenging times.
The aim of this research is to investigate the influence of flipbook learning media, learning interest, and learning motivation on junior high school students' learning outcomes. The method used is the regression method with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at Junior High School1 Yogyakarta with a sample of 64 class VIII social studies students. Data collection consists of interviews, observations, and documentation. Prerequisite test analysis consists of tests for normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. Hypothesis testing using simple regression, and multiple regression. The research results show that there is an influence: i) flipbook learning media on learning outcomes with a tcount of 73.33, a significance value of 0.000 < 0.005, ii) interest in learning on learning outcomes with a tcount of 33.678, a significance value of 0.000 < 0.005, iii) learning motivation on learning outcomes with a tcount of 30.678, a significance value of 0.000 < 0.005, and iv) flipbook learning media, learning interest, and learning motivation together on learning outcomes with Fcount 47.879 > Ftable 2.77 with a significance of 0.000 < 0.005. The conclusion is that the use of flipbook learning media, increasing interest in learning, and strengthening learning motivation can support each other to achieve optimal learning outcomes for students.
Hybrid project-based learning effectively develops academic writing skills in preparation for a gradual return to face-to-face instruction after a two-year pandemic triggered by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Since this hybrid project-based learning initiative is a pioneering effort, it is essential to reflect on the program's successes and identify areas for improvement. This case study aims to explore the lecturers' and students' reflections on using hybrid project-based learning in academic writing courses. In-depth interviews and end-of-semester reflection were utilized to obtain data. Thematic analysis was conducted using the qualitative data analysis (QDA)miner lite software for data reduction. the findings revealed three prominent themes that emerged in this lecturers’ reflections: i) integrating varied learning modalities; ii) fostering critical thinking and involvement; and iii) improving competencies, as they were also crucial to boosting professional development. Meanwhile, students portray hybrid project-based learning as challenging and rewarding and fosters a sense of value and acceptability among students. This research has transformative implications for curriculum development and instructional practices in higher education, especially academic writing.
Intrapreneurship skill has considered as the alternative learning outcomes of entrepreneurship education. However, entrepreneurship teachers need a complex learning program to develop intrapreneurship among business students. At the same time, The Ministry of Education and Culture of The Republic of Indonesia recommends university teachers implement case methods to deliver complex learning environments and build critical skills among students. Therefore, this study aims to i) examine the effect of micro small medium enterprise (MSME) cases on the intrapreneurship of business students, ii) investigate the influence of MSME cases on flow experience in entrepreneurship education and iii) investigate the effect of flow experience during entrepreneurship education on intrapreneurship skill. We used field experiments on entrepreneurship and digital business student in business development courses. The result indicates that the case method effectively developed student intrapreneurship skill and flow experience during the course positively impacting student intrapreneurship skill.
Mathematical beliefs and metacognitive knowledge play significant roles in solving mathematical problems; thus, this study aims to investigate the influence of middle school students' beliefs on their metacognitive knowledge when solving geometry problems. This study utilizes both quantitative and qualitative research methods. A linear regression test was used to determine the effect of middle school students' beliefs on their metacognitive knowledge. The results of the quantitative research analysis were followed up with a qualitative research approach to describe the metacognitive knowledge of students who have high and low confidence in solving geometric problems. This research involved 352 middle school students in the Tarakan area. Based on the results of linear regression, it is known that the beliefs of middle school students have a positive effect on their metacognitive knowledge when solving geometric problems. In addition, it was found that students with different beliefs could solve a given geometry problem, but the approach to solving it varied among subjects. Middle school students have diverse beliefs, but these variations do not affect their capacity to apply their metacognitive knowledge at every stage
of solving mathematical problems.
A comprehensive examination of the impact of instructional leadership provided by school principals on teacher commitment was carried out across different nations, including Indonesia. This research employed a literature review approach, scrutinizing journal articles that delved into the connection between the instructional leadership of school principals and teacher commitment. After applying predefined criteria to 120 chosen articles in this domain, only 15 articles met the specified criteria and were subsequently incorporated into the review. The findings of the literature review revealed that the instructional leadership of school principals and the resulting organizational commitment have a positive, and mostly said statistically significant, effect on teacher organizational commitment in various countries.
Because women in Indonesian society gain more experience in the family, one of which is education instilled through family gender culture, women's
career aspirations are believed to have their own characteristics. In today's
society, the current condition of female students' career expectations is apprehensive. Most of the female students do not have any professional
characteristics, such as career aspirations. This research involving 109 female students from various cultural contexts will divide their findings into
two categories: patriarchal family education and matriarchal family education. The main objective of this research is to investigate the career expectations of female students in relation to patriarchal and matriarchal
family education, and to compare the two household categories. As a result,
the majority of female students from societies that place a patriarchal emphasis on gender have expectations of career self-efficacy, whereas those
from societies that place a matriarchal emphasis on gender have expectations
of outcomes. Parametric analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was used for
comparative analysis. The test results show F = 75.011 for career expectations on self-efficacy and F = 145.467 for outcome expectation (OE).

This study was a step toward the creation of an e-module to creat flips book-
based exposition texts for junior high schools. The purpose of this study was
to offer an examination of students' demands when creating exposition
papers. A survey was used for the investigation. The data for this inquiry
was gathered through a questionnaire. In this study, a Likert scale was
utilized to examine students' attitudes, opinions, and perceptions of the built
electronic module. This research made use of a checklist-style questionnaire
with a range of assessments of 1 to 5. The questionnaire was distributed to
students from four junior high schools. This sampling technique was based
on the sampling quota established by the researcher. The data analysis
technique involved converting the category value into an assessment score
and examining the result. According to the findings, 61.5% of students had
difficulties in interpreting the material of exposition text, and the rest of
80.1% desired that the exposition text writing content be presented using
entertaining, interactive, and innovative learning methods. This showed the
need for the preparation of electronic modules for writing flip book-based
exposition texts.

1. INTRODUCTION
According to the 2013 curriculum, one of the goals of studying Bahasa Indonesia is to be able to
communicate and write in the language. Writing exposition text is one of the text-based materials related to
writing activities. This material is found in class VIII in Kompetensi Dasar/Basic Competence (KD) 3.5
recognizing information on texts of expositioni in the form of widely circulated scientific articles from
newspapers and magazines and KD 4.5 concludes the contents of exposition texts (popular scientific articles
from newspapers and magazines) that are heard and read. The 2013 curriculum emphasizes that teachers act
as facilitators and must encourage students to participate more actively in their studies [1]. In addition, it
supports the Indonesian 2013 Curriculum Characteristics, namely developing affective, cognitive, and skill
aspects and their implementation in various situations both at school and in the community [2].
Since the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture issued Circular Letter No. 4 of 2020
concerning the Implementation of Education in the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Emergency Period, it
is said that the learning process at all levels has switched to an online learning system. This condition causes
all learning components to adapt and adapt to new patterns. One of the successes of the teacher as a facilitator
in this learning activity is the selection of the right media. For this reason, it is very necessary for learning

media that are appropriate for the individual's abilities and conditions of students so that they can learn
independently, actively, and follows learning as expected from the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum.
Technology wil helps students skillfully find information on their own and actively use thinking and
imagination so that they can develop students' potential. Information and communication technologies (ICT)
becomes a tool to enhance learning, teaching, and leadership [3]. This is so that educational activities
continue to occur, then alternative systems can be implemented without risk [4]. Especially, in the current era
of the 4.0 industrial revolution, books have undergone a metamorphosis from

acts as a facilitator, then the electronic module will be very much needed by students in learning Bahasa
Indonesia independently. Learning modules are teaching materials designed to be used for independent
learning by students [5]. Module as a type of learning activity unit that aims to assist individual students in
achieving their educational goals. This corresponds to, the module can be promoted as independent learning
and critical holistic development students think. In addition, it is highly recommended to be given to students
as a way of bridging distance learning during unforeseen circumstances such as a pandemic (e.g. COVID-19)
[6].
The development of increasingly sophisticated technology also affects the development of module
presentations that can be packaged in electronic form. Electronic modules can be read on a computer and
created with certain software [7]. Electronic modules, also known as e-modules, are tools or learning tools
that contain materials, methods, limitations, and methods of evaluating that are designed systematically and
attractively so that they can achieve the expected competencies according to their level of complexity
electronically [8]. Ministry of Education and Culture [9] stated that the electronic module is a module that is
systematically arranged into certain learning units, presented in an electronic format, where every learning
activity in it is connected by a link as navigation that makes students more interactive with the program,
equipped with the presentation of video tutorials, animations, and audio to enrich the learning experience. In
general, electronic modules modify the print module's components. The development principle is the same
for both the conventional (printed) module and the electronic module. The physical presentation format
differs significantly. Some software can convert modules in electronic form, for example, flipbooks.
Flipbook is a traditional type of animation made from a stack of paper resembling a thick book, with each
page describing a process about something that later appears moving or animated [10]. According to
Yogiswara [11], flipbooks can be presented in various devices such as computers, Macs, iPhones, iPads,
iPods, Androids, and other mobile devices that include computer and mobile device audiences.
According to Indriyanti [12], the components of the module include an introduction section, a
learning activity section, and a bibliography. The introduction section contains a general explanation of the
learning modules and indicators. The learning activities section contains a description of the learning content,
summaries, tests, answer keys, and feedback. Teaching material is a module if it includes learning objectives,
learning materials/substances, and evaluation. The module must have several characteristics, including being
self-instructional, self-contained, intact, stand-alone, adaptive, and user friendly. The module is expected to
provide learning instructions for students during their education [13].
The objectives of the module include providing teaching materials that are following the demands of
the curriculum that take into account the needs of students, as well as the background of their social
environment, educational goals can be achieved efficiently and effectively, students can participate in
educational programs according to their own pace and ability, students can live and understand as much as
possible. carry out self-study activities on an ongoing basis, and modules are prepared based on master
learning a concept that emphasizes that students must optimally master the subject matter presented in the
module [14]. Almost in every schools, we see signs of learners pursuing areas of personal interest with such
technologies [15].
According to Nasution [16], the learning process using modules has several advantages or benefits
for students, namely the use of modules can guide students to achieve success in the learning process through
regular steps that will lead to learning motivation so that students try as hard as possible in learning.
However, the preparation of the module of course requires several steps of needs analysis. Module needs
analysis is an activity to analyze the syllabus and lesson plans to obtain module information needed by
students in learning the competencies that have been programmed.
In Bahasa Indonesia subjects, e-modules can help students during the learning process. In KD
writing exposition texts, there is KD 3.5, which identifies information on exposition texts (popular scientific
articles from newspapers/magazines) that is heard and read, and KD 4.5, which concludes the contents of
exposition texts (popular scientific articles from newspapers and magazines) that is heard and read.
Exposition text is a variety of discourse to explain, convey, or describe something that can expand
the knowledge of the reader [17]. Exposition is also called exposure, which is a form of essay that seeks to
explain, describe or analyze the main idea that can expand one's knowledge and views [18]. From the

exposition text, the reader usually looks for the truth of the issue. Therefore, expository texts usually contain
data, facts, or the process of something happening [19]. In order to write an exposition text, the author needs
to possess adequate knowledge on the subject or topic, with the ability to analyze the problem concretely
[20]. A written text is seen as the tangible written record of a potential communicative event [21].
Setyaningrum [22] states in the exposition text, the author explains a topic to provide information
without having to conclude. Expository text uses descriptions to provide details about characteristics of
something, the sequence of events, compare/contrast the relationship between two things by identifying
similarities and differences, cause/effect to explain how an event leads to an outcome, and problem/solution
to convey how a problem can be solved [23]. The exposition text is structured with a statement of opinion
(thesis), argumentation, and reaffirmation of opinion [24]. The statement of opinion (thesis) section contains
the opinions expressed by the author of the text. The argumentation section contains the arguments (reasons)
that support the author's statement, while the reaffirmation contains the repetition of statements that are used
to convince the reader of the truth of the statement (thesis).
Flip book-based electronic modules can be one of the media used in learning to write exposition
texts. Flip books will help teachers to present modules with a more interactive and attractive appearance than
printed books. The use of interactive learning media makes the material more interesting and easy to
understand, makes a stressful learning atmosphere fun, and helps teachers create interactive presentation
patterns [25]. Digital book created using the kvisoft flipbook maker application also features with multimedia
facilities, so that the packaging of digital books becomes more attractive and interactive [26]. Flipbooks that
use animation, video, and music technologies are different from ordinary printed books [27].
Electronic modules based on flipbooks might be one of the media used to teach students how to
construct exposition texts. Flipbooks will assist teachers in presenting modules more engagingly and
appealingly than printed books. The electronic module is also self-instructional, which means it only includes
one learning material so that learners are able to concentrate on the lesson's content, self-contained, which
means it contains all components of the material listed in the module, and stand-alone, which means it can be
used without the use of other media [28]. The advantages of e-modules are: i) The small physical size; ii) The
digital format is not easily damaged; iii) It is easy to process; iv) The distribution is easy; and v) The
presentation is more creative [19]. Therefore, students' opinions, perceptions, and suggestions through
questionnaires are useful for finding answers to students' needs in developing a computer program that allows
you to create flip book-style exposition texts. It is also an alternative to increasing the provision of learning
media in junior high schools for teachers and students, especially in Dumai.
2. RESEARCH METHODS
2.1. Reasearch design
This study is a step toward the creation of anie-module for creating flipibook-based exposition texts
for the secondary students. The survey method was used for the investigation [29]. These options are useful
for gathering information about preferences, attitudes, opinions and behaviours [30]. Through needs analysis,
this method is utilized to describe the material's demands on students for writing exposition texts.
2.2. Research instrument
A questionnaire was used to collect data in this study. Students' attitudes, opinions, and/or
perceptions of the developed electronic module are measured using a Likert scale in this study [31]. This
study used a checklist-style questionnaire with a rating scale of 1 to 5 for each item [32]. The questionnaire
that was prepared was addressed to students in five junior high schools in Dumai, Indonesia. Distribution of
survey questionnaires is done by online [33].The category used refers to the opinion of Riduan and Sunarto
as shown in Table 1 [34].

2.3. Data collection technique
The schools are State Junior High School 4 Dumai, State Junior High School 5 Dumai, State Junior
High School 21 Dumai, Kalam Kudus Junior High School Dumai, and Al Huda Islamic Junior High School
Dumai, Indonesia. The sample in this study amounted to 208 students. This sampling method is based on
quota sampling, which the researcher determines [35]. In addition, the research sample was adjusted to
students who were experiencing the process of learning to write expository texts online. The results of the
needs analysis in the development of the electronic module for writing expository texts are expected to
improve the quality of the electronic module following the expected suggestions and criticisms. The data
analysis technique was carried out by altering the classification values converting assessment scores to
numerical values and analyzing the results to be further categorized based on the necessary, sufficient, and
unnecessary categories.
3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
This study is based on 12 statements used to complete the preparation of an electronic module on
writing flipbook-based exposition texts at the junior high school level. The statement includes the concept of
explaining the material in the learning process and the concept of presenting material for writing exposition
texts in junior high school. Statements are presented to identify the weaknesses and needs of learning
materials for writing expository texts. Based on the data obtained, Table 2 shows the responses of
respondents to the statement of the need for the electronics module to write flipbook-based explosive texts as
a whole.

Details of the need for the learning process to write explanatory texts are presented in Table 3.
Referring to the table, respondents stated that 61.5% of students had trouble grasping the material of
producing exposition text during the learning process. Similarly, 63.2% of students had trouble generating
writing that adheres to the format of the expository text. Students struggle with compiling paragraphs of
expository text according to linguistic rules. It is known that 59.7% respondents agree with this statement,
while 57.7% of respondents agree that students are not exposed to closely observable examples as a guide for
writing expository texts. Hence, 62.8% of respondents also agree that students have difficulty in finding and
determining materials to produce expository texts.

Thus, students have difficulty in studying expository texts, difficulties in developing writing that is
in accordance with the structure of exposition texts, difficulties in composing paragraphs, and students are
not faced with examples that can be observed closely. They encounter difficulties in planning, organizing
ideas, stating a clear purpose and choosing appropriate words to express their ideas while composing texts
[36]. Furthermore, the aspect of presenting the material and the need for an electronic module in writing
expository text can be seen in Table 4.

Students have already learned the material for creating expository writings using traditional media
such as books. This statement has been agreed upon by 73.8% of respondents. This implies that, for the most
part, teachers have relied on readily available texts, such as textbooks, to provide material. Printed textbooks
are also often out of date [37]. As a result, 80.1% of students want the exposition text writing material
delivered in an engaging, interactive, and innovative way. Students also want to learn media to write
exposition texts using language that is easy to understand. A total of 85.1% of respondents agree with this
statement. Likewise, 78.4% of students want learning media to write expository texts that make it easier for
them to study independently. In line with that, 72.1% of students want learning media to write expository
texts integrated with technology. Technology is an application of science to make the world more efficient
[38]. There is 70.9% of students want exposition text writing material to be taught using special media such
as electronic modules and 69.1% want flipbook-based electronic modules. Students have a curious attitude
because the videos provided in the e-module can be studied further by students; questions that arise in the
material and questions also increase the curiosity of students [39].
Based on the description of the data above, the indicator of the need for learning to write expository
text and the need for a flipbook-based exposition text writing module are in the category of need. This is in
accordance with the table Category level of need by percentage 60.1%-80%. The highest need that students
want is the need for learning media that is easy to understand. As many as 85.1% of students agree. The need
for these two indicators can be seen based on the Figure 1.

4. CONCLUSION
Based on the analysis of students' needs in learning to write expository texts, there are two needs
underlie the preparation of theie-module for writing flip book-based exposition texts. These needs include
material for writing exposition texts deliveredithrough engaging, interactive, and cutting-edge
educationalimedia. Students expect this need to be met through the development of an electronic module
based on a flipbook. This is in accordance with previous studies that interactive media developed with the
latest developments in computer technology. Of course, this is something that supports education.
In addition, this need will meet the needs of learning Indonesian subjects in schools. Meanwhile, the
material presented in the basic competencies includes; i) 3.5 Identifying exposition text information in the
form of popular scientific articles from newspapers/magazines) that are heard and read; ii) 4.5 Summarizing
the contents of exposition texts (popular scientific articles from newspapers and magazines) that are heard
and read; iii) 3.6 Identify the structure, linguistic elements, and oral aspects in the exposition text of popular
scientific articles (environment, social conditions, and/or cultural diversity) that are listened to or read; and
iv) 4.6 Presenting ideas and opinions in the form of expository texts of popular scientific articles
(environment, social conditions, and/or cultural diversity) orally and in writing by paying attention to
structure, linguistic elements, and oral aspects. Through electronic modules, subject matter can not only be
read through printed books. This will make it easier for students to study anywhere in accordance with the
conditions when online learning applies.

Charlina currently serves as a head lector; head of the Department of Language
