4. Vision
4
To do something that has not been done in the industry
- Energy (= fuel saving) one motivation, no clear target yet
Vision: Future will be electric
- 5 years before markets really accepted the technology
- 10 years before first hybrid machine
- 16 years before battery powered machine
5. Proper design cannot be neglected but at some
point you need to step out to physical world
We did not have simulation capabilities what we
have now
- Quite many things developed during testing
- Traction control (for winter conditions)
- Power control
- Even the finest simulation models need to
be validated
5
Learning by doing
6. Some components were not suitable for mobile use
- Special design in many cases
- Learning by doing what are the real requirements
Continuous testing and development
- New environment creates new issues
- Winter, summer, moisture, vibration, user…
- Automation
6
Learning hard way
7. Global pandemic
- Opens eyes for emission reduction
- Less business (or leisure travel)
- Remote services getting more important
- Training frontline
Customer / consumer awareness for CO2
emissions
- Customers are making own target settings
- Individuals and companies
Growing interest on eco friendly products

Unpredictable things
