The document discusses sources of energy in Vietnam. It states that Vietnam currently relies mostly on non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. These are harmful to the environment but can generate electricity and power machinery. Hydro power is also increasingly used in Vietnam and is renewable but limited by where dams can be built. Solar and wind power are alternative renewable sources that could provide clean energy in the future and their value in Vietnam will increase.
Alternative energy sources are renewable and are thought to be "free" energy sources. They all have lower carbon emissions, compared to conventional energy sources. These include Biomass Energy, Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Geothermal Energy, Hydroelectric Energy sources.

THIS REPORT IS BASED ON THE GREEN ENERGY ELECTRIC POWER CONVERTER AND THIS REPORT IS PREPARED ON THE BASE OF FORMAT WHICH IS STANDARD AND THIS REPORT ALSO CONTAINS DIFFERENT ENERGY SOURCES WHICH IS RENEWABLE SOURCES SO THIS USEFUL FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources which are replenished
such as wind, wave, solar, biomass and tidal power. Governments and companies around the
world are investing heavily in developing technologies to harness the power of clean
renewable energy sources because of their potential to produce large quantities of energy
without generating greenhouse gases which can contribute to climate change. Most of the
power generation in India is carried out by conventional energy sources, coal and mineral oilbased
power plants which contribute heavily to greenhouse gases emission.
Renewable energy sources consist of solar, hydro, wind, geothermal, ocean and
biomass. The most common advantage of each is that they are renewable and cannot be
depleted. They are a clean energy, as they don't pollute the air, and they don't contribute to
global warming effects. Since their sources are natural the cost of operations is reduced and
they also require less maintenance on their plants.

3. 1. Discuss the following questions:
1. What are the main sources of
energy in Vietnam?
2. What type of energy sources will
be used in the future?
4. Dear guests, I’d like to talk to you today about renewable and non-
renewable energy.
Fossil fuels are non-renewable energy sources. They include oil, coal, and
natural gas. They can be used to create energy, generate electricity, or
drive big machinery. Unfortunately, they are harmful to the
environment. Viet Nam still relies mostly on non-renewable energy
sources, however, hydro power is increasingly used here too.
Hydro and nuclear power can generate a great deal of energy. They are
renewable and plentiful. However, hydro power is limited because dams
cannot be built in certain areas. Nuclear power can provide enough
electricity for the world’s needs, but it is dangerous.
The sun and the wind are other alternative sources of energy. The wind
turns turbines to make electricity. Solar power can be converted into
electricity. It can be used to heat or cool our houses. Although there are
some disadvantages, these alternative energy sources can offer abundant
amounts of clean, safe electricity. They will be valued more and more in
the future in Viet Nam.

9. What are the disadvantages of hydro and
nuclear power?
Hydro power is limited because dams
can not be built in certain areas. Nuclear
power is dangerous.
10. Why do you think the wind and the sun
are called alternative sources of energy?
Because they are natural sources of
power and we use them instead of
non-renewable sources.
11. What types of energy does Viet Nam use
most?
We use non-renewable sources of energy
the most but we are increasingly using
hydro power.
