This study investigates the effectiveness of using an overlying coarse aggregate layer and a geosynthetic separator to improve the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values of soft subgrade soils of varying plasticity. Results indicate that the inclusion of a separator significantly enhances the CBR values and mitigates mixing with soft soil, with improvements noted based on plasticity index and fines content. The research demonstrates the potential benefits of soil stabilization techniques in pavement construction over challenging subgrade conditions.
