3. Motivation & Its Principles
Motivation is a theoretical construct used to
explain behavior. It represents the reasons for
people's actions, desires, and needs.
Motivation is a key to change.
Motivation is dynamic, NOT static.
Motivation is influenced by internal and external
factors.
Motivation is influenced by social interactions.
Motivation can be modified.
4. What is Nation Building?
Nation-building refers to the process of constructing or
structuring a national identity using the power of the state.
Nation builders are those members of a state who take the
initiative to develop the national community through government
programs, including military conscription and national content
mass schooling.
5. How can we Motivate Our
Nation?
To Motivate our Nation we Have to:
Educate People
Develop a Innovation Oriented Society
Be a Good Leader
Motivate Children's
Motivate Teens
Motivate Young Adults
6. Educate People
Education is a vital investment for human and
economic development and is influenced by the
environment within which it exists. Changes in
technology, labor market patterns and general
global environment, all require policy responses.
Traditions, culture and faith all reflect upon the
education system and at the same time are also
affected by them.
8. Innovation Oriented Society
We are living in an inquiring and innovation-
oriented society. The demand of twenty first
century is novelty, creativity, and integration of
knowledge at global level, research, critical and
analytical thoughts. To prepare the children and
youth to cope with the present situation needs to
develop analytical and critical thinking, skill and
attitude that would make them more flexible and
innovative to deal with uncertainty and crises at
national and global level.
10. Have A Good Political Leader
Political leadership plays an important
role as the driver of policy shifts and
administrative reforms. While the
fundamental government structures
may stay unchanged within a country,
results and outcomes of policy reform
initiatives, institution building, and
development management would
differ significantly, under different
political administrations with different
political leaders.
12. How can we Motivate our
Children's
There are several strategies parents
can use to help children remain more
fully intrinsically motivated.
Provide an environment (through age
appropriate toys, activities, etc
Allow children ample time when working
to allow for persistence.
Respond to children's needs in a
consistent, predictable manner, but allow
them to be as independent as possible.
13. Continued..
Provide many opportunities for children and
adults to explore together and interact
directly.
Provide situations that give children an
acceptable challenge.
Give children opportunities to evaluate their
own accomplishments. Rather than stating
that you think they have done a good job, ask
them what they think of their work. You'll
never go wrong by asking the question,
"What do YOU think?"
Do not use excessive rewards. They tend to
undermine children's ability to value
themselves..
15. Motivating Teens
"What you want to communicate to your child is that you
have to do what you have to do so you can do what
you want to do.“
If you’re the parent of a teen, you know how much they like to
debate and question things. Sometimes that’s a pain, but I
think it’s actually okay to a point. Here’s something I’ve come
to understand from personal experience as a teen. When
they finally understand how something benefits them, they
will do it long term. If the reason your child does something is
only because it’s important to you, that is short term
motivation and that will end. The reason also needs to be
important to your child, not just important to you. If your
daughter is making good grades only because she wants to
make you happy, eventually that’s probably going to stop.
She needs to have a personal reason WHY. Her personal
reason can be that when you do a good job at something
difficult, you have a sense of accomplishment. Feeling a
sense of accomplishment is worth the effort it takes to
experience it.
17. Motivating Young Adults
Youth development, the process of growing up and
developing one’s capacities, happens no matter
what we do. The challenge is to
promote positive youth development and
plan quality experiences with young people.
It would be nice if there was a drive-through
window where you could order the positive aspects
of youth development when planning a program.
But it takes active involvement and careful planning
to Motivate the young People.
18. The Eight Keys ..
Gisela Konopka (1973) and Karen Pittman (1991) identified critical elements
essential to the healthy development of young people. Youth and adults will
benefit from experiences providing some or all of these elements.
1. Youth Feel Physically and Emotionally Safe
2. Youth Experience Belonging and Ownership
3. Youth Develop Self-Worth
4. Youth Discover Self
5. Youth Develop Quality Relationships with Peers and Adults
6. Youth Discuss Conflicting Values and Form Their Own
7. Youth Feel the Pride and Accountability that Comes with Mastery
8. Youth Expand Their Capacity to Enjoy Life and Know that Success Is Possible
19. Conclusion
In odder to bring motivation in
Pakistan nation we start from the
begging we have educate our children
because the are the future of our
nation. Moving further the most
important is that we have to decide
who is the true leader who can lead
us. This can only Come through
education.
