Estonia s Voluntary Cg Recommendations
Estonia s voluntary CG recommendations suggests that atleast half of the supervisory board members
should be independent. State owned enterprise (SOE) board members are selected through non
centralised process with members of the supervisory board nominations split between Ministry of
finance and ministry having the ownership rights. The law in Estonia calls for maximum 5 and 3 year
terms for supervisory and management boards for both public listed companies and SOE. In Estonia,
good corporate governance is promoted with a mix of both legal and institutional mechanisms. The
Commercial Code (CC) has been the primary legislative piece for corporate governance in Estonia
which has been amended on several occasions since its adoption way back in 1995.Estonian Financial
Supervision Authority (FSA) exercises the main regulatory and enforcement powers for the listed
companies. FSA has autonomous competence and a separate budget though it is an agency of the Bank
of Estonia. FSA was brought into existence as a result of the Financial Supervision Authority Act in
2001. FSA has two boards supervisory and management board and the functions are similar to the
ones listed above. Estonia published its first voluntary CG code whose main function is to enhance
corporate governance and transparency through improved reporting systems by listed companies.
With this under development by its side, newly formed government took a bold decision with a

Ancient Wonders
Ancient Wonders Have you ever wondered about the Wonders of the Ancient World? How they
became Wonders? Who built them and where are they now? Although most have come and gone with,
either through battles or nature, they still amaze many scholars. The Statue of Zeus, the Colossus of
Rhodes, the Light House of Alexandria, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon have kept the minds of
many filled with imagination and wonder of what the ancient world was like. The Statue of Zeus was
is truly an amazing sculpture and was arguably the most famous statue of its day. This statue was
dedicated to none other than Zeus, considered to be the most important of the Greek gods (Ancient
Origins, 2017). The Statue of Zeus was housed in the Temple of Zeus constructed by the Greek
Architect Libon. While Libon constructed the Temple some else was commissioned to create the
Statue of Zeus, a sculptor named Phidias in 430 B.C. (Jordan, 2014). He was considered to be the
most famous sculptor in ancient Greece. When travelers would come to see this statue they would say,
If a man, with a heavy heart from grief and sorrow in life, will stand in front of the statue, he will
forget all these. and Whereas we just wonder at the other six wonders, we kneel in front of this one in
reverence, because the execution of the skill is as incredible as the image of Zeus is holy...
(Unmuseum.org, 2017). It is no wonder why it was considered a wonder if it had the reverence to

African Americans And Asian Americans
Model Minority has become a frequently used terms to categorize other cultures and systemize their
relationship to the rest of the world. Defined properly, model minority refers to minority groups that
have rates of socio economic assimilation and achieved a high level of success in today s western
society. The term has been used most often to describe Asian Americans, group seen as having
attained economic and education success at significantly higher rates than that of other minority
groups. Although first coined by sociologist William Petersen in 1966, the term model minority was
not popularized and nationalized as a reference to Asian Americans through radio and television
outlets, and even some academics until the mid 1970s. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Condition of Children Orange County report states that in the 2011 2012 academic year, 7.4% of
Asian students dropped out of high school, which is higher than their white peers (4.6%). Because of
this, many schools do not accurately monitor, record, and report the dropout rates among Asian
Americans. As a result, many school districts throughout the nation do not realize the significant
number of Asian students they are losing because of a stereotype (Walker Moffat, 1995). In addition to
underachievement and growing dropout rates among Asian Americans, the increasing socioeconomic
gap between Asians and whites also made the model minority stereotype problematic. According to
U.S. Census Bureau, the poverty rates among Asian American groups (12.6%) remain elevated
compared to that of their white counterparts and the overall national average (12.4%).
The negative effects of the model minority myth and stereotypes are also evident in secondary and
post graduate education. Research shows that the false representation of Asian students has evolved
into the inaccurate view and additional stereotype that Asian students achieve their success through
dishonest means and threaten the success of their academic peers (Suzuki, 2002). For example, the
increased profiling of Asian students in higher education has resulted in directly adverse learning
environments that place additional negative views on their success (Yeh, 2002). Numerous

Persuasive Essay On Discipline Or Abuse
Discipline or Abuse Some people say that parenting is the most difficult job in the world. Parents
always face difficult choices when it comes to raising their children. Choices like education, nutrition,
and child care are among those choices, but one of the most important choices a parent must face, is
how will they discipline their children. Which method is the most effective to raise well behaved
children, thus well behave adults. By definition, the word discipline means the practice of training
people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience (oxford
dictionary). Parents can implement several methods of discipline, and most commonly than not, one
those methods chosen by parents include corporal punishment, which can include hitting, smacking,
slapping, striking a child with your hand or with an object. The method used to discipline is
completely a parent s choice, but the question remains, is hitting, spanking, or striking a child in favor
of discipline, an effective way to discipline, or is it just a pure act of child abuse? Any method of
discipline a parents chooses will attempt to reach the same goal, to teach children that there will be
consequences for their bad behavior, and that good behavior is expected. However, by choosing
corporal punishment, some experts argue that it has a negative effect on children that can be carried
with them throughout their adulthood. This disciplinary methods alters the way a child

Benefits Of A Incentive Pay For Teachers
Incentive Pay for Teachers
If you re a student, it may not be long before you find yourself in a classroom competing with peers
from all over the world. With the ensuing tide of globalization, the top companies and firms will be
able to look beyond students from local schools and access a growing global talent pool. Over the last
two decades, countries around the world have focused on expanding and innovating education as the
key to maximizing well being, reducing poverty, and increasing economic growth. As a result, Canada
may soon find itself trailing behind international standards, which would gravely impact Canada s
ability to stay competitive with the global economy. Having spent the second most out of 32
developed countries in the world, Canadians understand the importance of investing in education.
Improving education outcomes is a key priority for governments around the world, if Canada wants to
stay competitive it must be willing to innovate. One idea long neglected: incentive pay for teachers.
It sounds simple enough: an honest day s pay for an honest day s work, those who achieve better
results should be better compensated in return. But depending on who you ask, the notion is either
rationally straightforward or utterly perverse.
The idea that teachers should be compensated based on their performance has Canadians entrenched
in a heated debate. In 2014, a report published by the Fraser Institute advocating for teacher incentive
pay was immediately met with

Analysis Of The Movie The Things They Carried
The Actual War Scenario Vietnam War
The Things They Carried, is a novel based on the Vietnam War, and the book
reveals the truth of the war as the author remembers the war after twenty one years and
snows his guilt and emotions for the war. The Things They Carried, belongs high on the
list of the best fiction about any war... crystallizes the Vietnam experiences for everyone
and exposes the nature of all war stories.( New York Times, Book of the Century ). Tim
O Brien, the author of the book is both the narrator and the protagonist of the book. As,
he himself is present in the war and also tells different stories told by the member of the
alpha company. O Brien use of storytelling along with theme is the part of the book
which makes it more realistic and effective, which is the ultimate point and purpose of
the author.
O Brien believes that stories have immense power, they gain the attention of the audience and allows
them to confront and face with the situation together and share the experience. Telling stories returns
to narrative. For example, Mitchell Sanders the resident of the Alpha company and the storyteller tells
story consisting of myths to the specifics. The hearing of a sound in the jungle and shooting in own
foot by Rat Kiley, contends that truth and morality in a war story have little to do with accuracy. Rat
was not a reliable narrator and he cared for making the story alive and making readers feel to be

Art Museum Reflection Paper
Before visiting the Seattle Art Museum (SAM) to observe and analyze the art covered in class, I made
sure to read the museum s mission statement. That way, it would be in my mind as I walked through
the halls and moved from gallery to gallery and I could revisit it afterward. According to Seattle Art
Museum s executive summary and strategic plan for 2014 2017, the museum s mission is a simple
one: to connect art to life. Through art, the Seattle Art Museum enriches lives and engages diverse
communities. As the leading visual art institution in the Pacific Northwest, SAM draws on its global
collections, powerful exhibitions, and dynamic programs to provide unique educational resources
benefiting the Seattle region, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond (Seattle Art Museum). Regarding the
fact that I am writing this now and had the opportunity to observe and research many works of art
proves their mission to be successful. Walking into the museum, I noticed that it already appeared to
be much bigger on the inside than it did on the outside. The first two floors were lit mostly by natural
light and provided museum visitors access to tickets, information about the museum, the gift shop, and
some food. The remaining floors were dimmer and mostly just the art pieces were given light to
eliminate distraction. The American, Native American, and modern/contemporary art was displayed
on the third floor while the African, European, and Mediterranean art was found on the top floor. The
three art pieces that interested me the most were all found on the third floor in mostly the modern and
contemporary art section. To, help uncover the power of detail behind the artwork, I chose three pieces
corresponding to abstract and abstract expressionism from artists Jackson Pollock, Josef Albers, and
Eva Hesse to research and truly analyze.
The first powerful example of abstract art and in this case, abstract expressionism, comes from
Jackson Pollock. Paul Jackson Pollock was born in Cody, Wyoming, in 1912, to a family with four
other sons. When Pollock was nine years old, his father abandoned the family and returned when only
after Pollock had already moved out of the house. Though his childhood was a fairly rough, he loved

Biotechnology Advantages And Disadvantages
1. What is Biotechnology?
1.1. A definition of Biotechnology
The exploitation of microorganisms for industrial purposes or processes. (Sterrenberg, 2010) 1.2. Two
advantages of Biotechnology with their advantages and disadvantages Examples:
Antibiotics
Vaccines
Antibiotic destroy bacterial pathogens. Antibiotics have different chemical structures, therefore
destroying pathogenic bacteria differently. There are two manners in which antibiotics can destroy
pathogenic material:
1. The bacterium cell is destroyed by causing the wall of the bacterium to weaken, therefore
disfiguring the cell and forcing the cell to burst, spilling all its contents, and destroying the cell from
spreading its pathogenic bacteria.
2. Antibiotics can take the form of the pathogenic bacterium s metabolism. This completely destroying
the bacterium when it is apparent in the body. (Sterrenberg, 2010) ... Show more content on

They cure many illnesses, for an affordable price. There are negative side effects such as nausea,
discomfort and sensitivity towards light.
A reduction of bacterial diseases. Antibiotic Resistance. Antibiotics only kill bacteria, not viruses as

Vaccines are used to create immunisation. They are taken orally by injection. Vaccines are a weakened
form of a microorganism. It is injected to create immunity against the specific pathogen injected.
Therefore, creating antibodies and a memory of the reaction to the pathogen. Immunisation is now
created. When the pathogen attacks the body, the antibodies will respond and destroy the pathogen.
Therefore making a person immune to a disease. (Sterrenberg,

Family Treatment Plan
One thing to understand when dealing with addictions within the family system is that there are many
different types of families from nuclear, single parent, same sex etc.., and the effects that addiction has
varies within these different family system. There is no one way of creating or approaching a set
treatment plan. Therefore it is imperative that the addiction counselor or worker complete a thorough
assessments and evaluations of the family in order to create a individualize therapy, recovery and
continued after treatment care. Through initial assessments information that may be key to a
successful treatment plan for the addict can be ascertained. Issues that can be counteractive to overall

Evolution Of Digests
1. Evolution of Research Sources: From Digests to Hyperlinks
Traditionally, legal issues would be researched using Digests, a series of books that used a
standardized alphabetical classification system of main topics (such as Burglary or Searches and
Seizures ) and Key numbers (subtopics such as Defenses or Probable Cause ) that were identical to the
topics and Key numbers used in case headnotes. Using the main topic in boldface and the Key number
that appeared at the beginning of each headnote for a case, digest editors collected headnotes on
specific points of law from cases within a given jurisdiction.
Although the print versions of Digests (and case reporters) have been phased out, understanding Key
numbering is critical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Start by Reading a Secondary Source
Online (or Books): If you need to educate yourself about an unfamiliar issue, start by reading a
secondary source, such as an encyclopedia, A.L.R., a hornbook, or a commercial guide to find articles
that explain and survey the law.
Online (or Books): For codes, use the Table of Contents to locate the general issue and then look for
specific code sections to read.
Identify Terms to Use for Research
Parties: Identify the parties to the case by their class (e.g., minors), occupation (doctor), or relationship
(tenant, heir).
Places: Consider where the problem arose, such as public buildings, amusement parks, or sidewalks.
Things: Include objects involved in the dispute, such as automobiles.
Basis of Action: Negligence, breach of contract, conversion, search and seizure are some ideas to use
for terms.
Defenses: Assumption of the risk, infancy, and other defenses if relevant.
Relief Sought: Punitive damages, injunction, annulment, and other forms of relieve should be included
in the search terms as needed
Use Research Terms to Search Online Sources
Write a focused query using the research terms you identified. A query using terms and connectors
will yield a more focused result than a general query.
Use the categories (cases, secondary sources, etc.) to find controlling authorities.
Narrow the search by using specific sources or dates or expand the search to

Zombie Apocalypse History
6 Of The Most Original Zombie Movies Ever Made
Even the most passionate zombie movie fan will have to admit that the genre gets played out from
time to time. Sure, we all love a good walking dead/end of the world film. Yet, it s been a long time
since George A. Romero and Night of the Living Dead scared up audiences in 1968.
Since then, a slew of films have been produced and they ve varied wildly in terms of quality. Some
being quality, but most not so much. Yet, it s not always the quality of a zombie film that makes
people come. Some just want to see the undead devouring on some human flesh. Films have ranged
from classic horror themes to ridiculous plots about loved ones coming back from the dead. Some are
even timepieces that may only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Critics both loved and faulted FotLD s zany, largely original plot despite attempting to cash in on two
often cliche genres in one film. While the film did receive high marks from some critics, FotLD never
created much of a buzz. But it does have the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop in it. So, that should
make someone reading this interested, right?
Warm Bodies (2013)
A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper
with a background into the main zombie character, R. In doing so, the film showed a human element
to the undead (thanks largely to Nicholas Hoult s voiceovers) that hasn t been explored in detail in
other films.
Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far
deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes.
It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of
solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories.
Besides, it s not as if Warm Bodies was a trilogy centered on a love triangle involving a teenage girl, a
vampire and a werewolf. That would just be over the top.

the United States. As time went along, the Philippines had more presidents after Roxas, including
Elpidio Quirino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos P. García, and Diosdado Macapagal, all who served 4 year
terms. Then, the president after Macapagal, Ferdinand E. Marcos, served as president from 1965 to
1986. During this time, government corruption and civil disorder increased. After a series of fraud
attempts in the 1986 elections, Marcos lost his support and Corazon Aquino became president. In
1992, Fidel Ramos succeeded Aquino and Joseph Marcelo Estrada was elected as president in 1998. In
November, 2000, Estrada was impeached by the House of Representatives and in 2001 the Supreme
Court stripped him of his power and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was sworn in as Estrada s successor.

Examples Of Archetypes In An Old Friend

After doing what a young girl at the edge of adulthood does like sneaking around, going to meet boys
rather than doing what she tells her parents, a young rebellious girl, Connie, who has a bad
relationship with her parents, works through the temptations and situations from a creepy guy by the
name of Arnold. Her consciousness of right and wrong outweigh all the temptations. These decisions
and temptations are shown through archetypes in Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been by
Joyce Carol Oates. Oates focuses on biblical symbols, symbolic colors, and her beliefs in order to
create her story and make it have the meaning it does. Arnold Friend is a mysterious, creepy man who
takes over Connie when her parents are away. Arnold s name is connected to An Old Friend if you

sunlight opaquely so even though it was bright, it had a dark feel to it meaning something bad (2). His
name appears on his car in tar like black letters and both boys, Arnold and Ellie, wear metallic
sunglasses constantly as if they don t like the sunlight and are avoiding it, reflecting and keeping it out
because they are evil. Connie s dress does the same thing. In the beginning she has on a bright green

It is scary!, but since reading the section on Become a Less Aggressive Driver , I can really now try
and relax while driving. My work is based on driving because I deliver percriptions for a local
pharmacy, so I am in my car all of the time! So being able to relax and not speed through my
deliveries helps me to not care how soon I can make the next delivery, and I still get done close to the
same time. Its a little slower, but I ve noticed that the five minutes of just taking my time really helps
so much because the stress that I have when I get out of my car lasts much longer than five minutes.
Plus, I can think of what I need to get done and organize my thoughts while driving, instead of
worrying about the traffic.
The last topic that I really liked was The Next Time You Find Yourself in an
Argument, Rather than Defend Your Position, See if You Can See the Other Point of
View First . Being able to see the other side is hard for me to do. I am so stuborn. This technique is
one that I really wish that I could accomplish, but it is hard. Just knowing now that there is another
side to the story and the other person does have the same strong feelings that I have is just plain
confusing for me. I mean, it makes logical sense
, but I cannot make any sense of it. This technique does give me some sort of insight as to how
arguements work out, but still doesn t help me much, until I can find a way to view things differently,

Defensive Drivers Research Paper
How to be the best defensive driver It is crucial for defensive drivers to be fully aware of all the
precautions while driving. The laws specified for drivers need deep and thoughtful consideration from
defensive drivers in order to fully understand. Drivers must consider any act of unsure safety to avoid
severe accidents. Following these special steps on a day to day basis leads the worst drivers to the best
defensive drivers ever. When learning to drive it is extremely important to understand the laws for
driving and to learn new tips that help drivers with being defensive. The first step for the driver to do
is right after pulling out from the driveway, text. Because no one is ever on the phone making calls,
replying to messages, and checking social media, defensive drivers are the first in line to do this. If
people get ignored they will be sentimental and hurt; for which is why they are a priority. Doing this

Cisco Layer 2 Resiliency Compared to HP s IRF
In order to provide speed and reliability, large and enterprise level networks today are typically
constructed in multiple layers. They are the access layer, also called the network edge layer, the
aggregation or distribution layer; and the network core layer. The access layer is usually a mesh of
network switches, linked to other switches in the aggregation layer, which in turn is linked to the core.
This mesh type application of switches provides multiple paths for network traffic to flow. What this
means is that if one link in the traffic flow or a switch goes down, traffic can continue to flow using an
alternate path. This type of mesh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, Cisco Layer 2 Resiliency advantages are claimed to offer rapid failover without service
disruption. The layer 2 is designed to streamline change management and service turn up without
WAN disruption with fewer errors. It offers a high availability through real time recovery and
resiliency at the network, device and design levels. Cisco Layer 2 Resiliency offers increased system
redundancy at the platform level, network security through access layer defense, identity based trust,
pervasive security and management as well as providing device posture assessments. Operational
efficiency is achieved through automated configuration, proactive diagnostics and simplified
troubleshooting. This is designed to provide predictable application performance to support converged
applications as well as support IP multicast for new applications. As with HP s IRF Resiliency, there
are several disadvantages associated with Cisco Layer 2 Resiliency. The router supports REP only
when the router is running the metro IP access or the metro access image. You have to configure each
segment port or an incorrect configuration will cause forwarding loops in networks. REP can only
manage one failed port within a segment. Multiple port failures within the REP segment cause high
loss of network connectivity.
Due to its simplistic manageability and scalability I would recommend HP s IRF Resiliency over

The Characteristics of Jazz and Blues in Langston Hughes s The Weary Blues
While I was reading Langston Hughes s poems, I have noticed his outstanding accomplishment in his
blending creation of Negro musical characteristics and poetry. And The Weary Blues is his peaked
piece of a combination of both jazz and blues. The poem reflected American African s living situation
during the Harlem Renaissance, it sufficiently revealed the cultural charm of Negros and Hughes s
fully affirms of his national dignity.
In my paper, I will analyze the methods and techniques Hughes used to highlight the musical elements
in this poem. Jazz and blues are both styles of music which were discovered by Negros. They are
important to Hughes and his culture, and according to the sad and painful tunes in jazz and blues,
Hughes wanted us to listen and understand his culture from this poem. The Weary Blues has a rather
oral character style; the fundamental key is very slow and sentimental, but the poem is full of
musicality, and makes readers felt if they are staying on the scene. I felt not only the special pleasing
quality of Negro s ballad, but also felt depressed from Negro s circumstances during that time. So I
have decided to focus on the analysis of the structural, style of language, along with the jazzy and
blues characteristics in the image of theme. And apparently, I will use structuralism and a touch on
linguistics as my criticisms to argue my statement. In the external form structure of

Essay on Fools Rush In and My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Fools Rush In and My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Every movie that is written has a certain attitude to it. Some of these are intended to be laughed at and
others are meant to be heartfelt. Though each movie is written with its own voice, so to speak, many
have similar plots or themes. The two movies Fools Rush In and My Big Fat Greek Wedding are two
of these movies that have similarities in the themes, but not necessarily in the plots. Both of these
romantic comedies have strong religious backgrounds on the woman s side of the family and
differences in culture. The main theme between these two movies is the quest for happiness and all the
troubles that must be overcome to achieve it.

Toula has been raised in a Greek home and still has not married, though all of her siblings have. In the
Greek culture a woman is to marry a Greek man, have Greek babies and feed everyone in the family
for the rest of their lives. Since Toula has not married she is living with her parents and working in
their family restaurant. While working as a hostess she encounters Ian and falls head over heels in love
with him. The problem is that he is not Greek; he is actually what her parents would consider a rebel.
She hides him from her family for as long as possible, but the truth is revealed. Her family makes it

in the end they are joyful in the outcome of their lives together. They also have Greek children and

These two movies both deal with similar issues. In both movies the women are struggling between
what their hearts are telling them and what they have been raised to know their entire lives. The
struggle to overcome the fact that their intended may not be accepted is one that is handled with many
mixed emotions. Toula is unable to face her family and admit she is seeing Ian, while Isabel just

In the introduction of the book, Ehrenreich begins to provide the reader with statistics, such as
according to the National Coalition for the Homeless, in 1998 the year I started this project it took, on
average, nationwide, an hourly wage of $8.89 to afford a one bedroom apartment, and the Preamble
Center for Public Policy was estimating that the odds against a typical welfare recipient s landing a job
at such a living wage were about 97 to 1 (page 3) and continues to present data throughout the story.
These type of statistics are also included in the footnotes at the bottom of several pages, along with
cited sources. In Ehrenreich s evaluation at the end of the book, she reflects on how she did as a low
wage worker and points out the problems with being one. She uses her experiences to support her
argument, for instance, Why isn t this resistance met by more effective counterpressure from the
workers themselves? In evading and warding off wage increases, employers are of course behaving in
an economically rational fashion; their business isn t to make their employees more comfortable and
secure but to maximize the bottom line. (page 204) Ehrenreich s use of logos gives the reader reason
to follow along with her claims since she has provided the research and proof needed to back up her

Romance Embodied through Figurative Language in Taylor Swift s Red The song Red was written
and recorded by famed singer/songwriter Taylor Swift for her album of the same name. It is a song
that is full of figurative speech; the songstress makes use of similes, metaphors, and imagery. These
three techniques work together to convey the many emotions the singer feels when she looks back at
the end of relationship. Red is a song that is about remembering a relationship and thinking about the
emotions good or bad that it brought on. The first two lines of the song, Loving him is like driving a
new Maserati down a dead end street /Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly,
provide an example of how Swift uses similes in this song. The artist is writing about how passionate,
wild and reckless this progressing relationship was, even though it eventually came to an abrupt halt.
Swift again makes use of the simile when she writes, Loving him is like trying to change your mind
once you re already flying through the free fall. This line can be interpreted to mean that Swift began
to have second thoughts about the relationship, but she was already in love, so it was too late to back
down. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the lines Losing him was blue like I d never known / Missing him was dark grey all alone, the use
of the color blue shows that the artist felt incredibly sad when the relationship initially ended, and the
color grey is here used to describe the immense depression she felt when the relationship was over.
The writer also describes how wonderful her love was for the other person by using the color red. An
example of this is the following

New Paths Of The United Kingdom And London
New Paths
We decided to head over to the United Kingdom and London in particular wanting to take her on the
Millennium Wheel. I ve always wanted to go on it but had no one to accompany me. Now I have and
Lie Lyn is a part of me, so we will experience it together.
The flight was uneventful, and we arrived on time, but best of all my powers were under control and
there was no feeling of anything else happening. I thought to myself maybe this is it; I could relax and
enjoy my time with Lie Lyn. If only that had been the case but fate had other things in store for me
and Lie Lyn.
We headed to the most luxurious hotel in London as I want to let Lie Lyn get pampered. The evening

Kissing her like there was never would be a tomorrow as a shiver ran down my back.
Come let s get back to our hotel as I need you more than anything else. I could see she knew
something was not right, but for the moment she saw I needed her. That night I held her so much she
was worrying, and I had to force myself to let her go. The morning came with rain so I asked if it
would be all right if we left and went over to France as I wanted to show her the Eifel Tower. Then the
feeling came on me again as I sat down and let it wash over me. All Lie Lyn could do was hold me as I
just sat and stared into space.
My mind was awash with fantastic light displays that only I can see, then she was there beside me and
I felt her love wash over me. This helped me gain control of my mind and she led me back to reality.
We sat there for hours as I tried to keep my mind at bay as it wanted control.
Your powers are getting stronger and soon you will struggle to keep control. You must use all the

Rise of Prussia Essay example
Question:
Analyze the military, political, and social factors that account for the rise of Prussia between 1640 and
1786.
Bree Stanbrough
Due: March 3, 2011
Period 4
The rise of Prussia from 1640 to 1715 was mainly due to the great leadership of Frederick William the
Elector , Frederick William I and Frederick the Great of Prussia. Many military, social, and political
factors led to the rise of Prussia also. The major factor that helped Prussia become a great power was
the growth of Prussia s new army and the territory they took because of this powerful military. Most of
the military factors that led to the rise of Prussia came from Fredrick William The Elector . He was the

Many of the social factors that led to the rise of Prussia were made by Fredrick the Great. Some even
called him The Social Reformer . He made life for Prussians easier by abolishing torture and corporal
punishment.[7] He established religious tolerance and freedom of speech by ending censorship.[8]
Fredrick resettled immigrants from Austria to establish weaving as a major Prussian industry.[9] He
proved himself as an enlightened ruler who reformed Prussia s agriculture, legal system, industry and
government for the better.[10] He added a diversity of skills to his country by integrating religions into
his countries everyday life such as, Jewish teachers, or Jesuit merchants and bankers.[11] He also
purposely set reasonable prices on grain so farmers and townspeople wouldn t go hungry.[12]
Frederick William I also helped socially unite Prussia by created a strong centralized bureaucracy.
This allowed commoners to rise to top positions in the civil government. So now power rested with
the hard working, not with the men who were born rich or with land. With this change, there was no
longer Parliamentary Estates. This socially reformed Prussia set the foundation for a powerful
Prussian empire. Prussian leaders wanted to establish royal absolutism.[13] Most of the political
reform was a change in who was in political positions of power. Frederick William and Frederick

Definitional issues: entrepreneurship, micro enterprise and rurality Numerous definition of
entrepreneurship can also be found in the literature. Hisrich and Peters (1998) define entrepreneurship
as the process of creating something new with value by devoting the necessary time effort assuming
the accompanying financial, physic and social risks and receiving the resulting rewards of monetary
and personal satisfaction and independence while Zacharis et al (2000) define entrepreneurship as any
attempt to create a new business enterprise or to expand existing business by an individual, ateam
individuals or an established business . Micro enterprises are typically defined as very small,
informally run businesses, involved in activities other than crop production. In the United States,
Canada and Britain, small scale business is defined according to the number of paid employees and
total annual turnover. In Britain for example, businesses with an annual sales of £2 million or less and
have less than 200 paid employees will be classified as small scale business. In Malaysia, small
enterprise covers all enterprises employing between 5 49 workers; medium scale enterprise employs
between 50 199 workers and large enterprise has more than 200 employees. Micro enterprise employs
less than 5 workers and is normally treated as an informal sector under the Ministry of States and

Questioning the Normal American Family in American Beauty
American Beauty, released in 1999, was a tragic comedy, created by Sam Mendes. The movie had
audiences questioning the ideal American family. You see the usual midlife crisis that most people go
through but watching further uncovers a deeper conflict of feeling oppressed with what society
considers a normal life. The movie has many connecting themes through plot, characterization, and
cinematography and these themes carry well throughout the movie. The main themes are listed
accordingly, appearance versus reality, loneliness versus feeling connected, denial and repression, and
beauty.
A theme that is consistent throughout the movie is of empty promises of materialism. From afar the
Burnhams seem to have the American Dream: a nice house in the suburbs, children, cars and good
jobs. The Art Culture Film website describes them as trapped by the ideology of the American Dream
(Structural 1). Carolyn Burnham unnaturally obsessed with materialism and other s opinions of them
(Newman 8). She has an obsession with her material items that she owns and to her they equal
success. Mendes shows us a scene where Lester is trying to show passion by kissing Carolyn on the
couch but all Carolyn could worry about was the beer almost spilling on the couch. Lester, frustrated,
yells, It s just a couch! to which she replies that it is not just a couch, but one that cost $4,000 and is
upholstered in Italian silk. In another scene where Carolyn fights with her daughter, she yells at Jane

Question: Although New England and the Chesapeake region were both settled largely by of English

development occur?
Thesis Statement: When talking about New England and the Chesapeake region, you have to consider
the differences in motives and geography. Consider economic situations (reasons for settling where
they did, reasons why they came to New England in the first place). One has to think about the family
development and demographics, as well as the government structure.

Who Is Sir Isaac Newton My Hero

Social Responsibility Issues In The 1930 s
One reason that there is so much government regulation involving social responsibility issues, is due
to the public putting pressure on them to do something about all the bad social conditions occurring to
people back in the 1930 s. The government involvement prior to that was centered more on the
American business. People had to endure poor working conditions and low wages, without much hope
of things improving. There were no advocates for the working class. The change did not come until
pressure was put on the government to do something. The turning point came when Franklin D.
Roosevelt became president, and started to change the way a business was allowed to operate. Once

Just Lather, That s All
Many have been left thinking and questioning details of Hernando Téllez s Just Lather, That s All .
This story depicts the internal conflict of the barber when the most feared military captain comes into
the shop for a shave. The protagonist the barber contemplates, weather to kill Torres his enemy and
fulfil his revolutionary duties, or shave the Captain without letting one single drop of blood fall on
behalf of a good barber. At the end when the Captain is still alive he shocks the barber revealing that
he knew all along that he was secretly a rebel and what he wanted to do. This piece of writing has
many interesting aspects to analyze, but symbolization, theme and connections were the most
meaningful to me. The razor was a very symbolic object according to many people. If you don t
already know, symbolization is when we take a solid object and give it and abstract idea. The razor
symbolizes countless things throughout this piece. It was evident that it symbolized his profession but,
it also could be used as a murder weapon. The moral dilemma it represented of the barber was the
most prominent to me. All through the text the barber was faces this internal conflict of to kill or not to
kill. Weather to stand by his morality or collective beliefs. Weather to do what he thought was right or
to do what he was told to be right. These opposites clash and had resulted in conflict. Hero or

Additionally, engineering program curriculum of the 10 universities, mentioned previously, are also

State owned enterprise (SOE) board members are selected through non centralised process with members of the supervisory board nominations split between Ministry of finance and ministry having the ownership rights. The law in Estonia calls for maximum 5 and 3 year terms for supervisory and management boards for both public listed companies and SOE. In Estonia, good corporate governance is promoted with a mix of both legal and institutional mechanisms. The Commercial Code (CC) has been the primary legislative piece for corporate governance in Estonia which has been amended on several occasions since its adoption way back in 1995.Estonian Financial Supervision Authority (FSA) exercises the main regulatory and enforcement powers for the listed companies. FSA has autonomous competence and a separate budget though it is an agency of the Bank of Estonia. FSA was brought into existence as a result of the Financial Supervision Authority Act in 2001. FSA has two boards supervisory and management board and the functions are similar to the ones listed above. • 3. Ancient Wonders Ancient Wonders Have you ever wondered about the Wonders of the Ancient World? How they became Wonders? Who built them and where are they now? Although most have come and gone with, either through battles or nature, they still amaze many scholars. The Statue of Zeus, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Light House of Alexandria, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon have kept the minds of many filled with imagination and wonder of what the ancient world was like. The Statue of Zeus was is truly an amazing sculpture and was arguably the most famous statue of its day. This statue was dedicated to none other than Zeus, considered to be the most important of the Greek gods (Ancient Origins, 2017). The Statue of Zeus was housed in the Temple of Zeus constructed by the Greek Architect Libon. While Libon constructed the Temple some else was commissioned to create the Statue of Zeus, a sculptor named Phidias in 430 B.C. (Jordan, 2014). He was considered to be the most famous sculptor in ancient Greece. When travelers would come to see this statue they would say, If a man, with a heavy heart from grief and sorrow in life, will stand in front of the statue, he will forget all these. and Whereas we just wonder at the other six wonders, we kneel in front of this one in reverence, because the execution of the skill is as incredible as the image of Zeus is holy... • 4. African Americans And Asian Americans Model Minority has become a frequently used terms to categorize other cultures and systemize their relationship to the rest of the world. Defined properly, model minority refers to minority groups that have rates of socio economic assimilation and achieved a high level of success in today s western society. The term has been used most often to describe Asian Americans, group seen as having attained economic and education success at significantly higher rates than that of other minority groups. Although first coined by sociologist William Petersen in 1966, the term model minority was not popularized and nationalized as a reference to Asian Americans through radio and television outlets, and even some academics until the mid 1970s. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Condition of Children Orange County report states that in the 2011 2012 academic year, 7.4% of Asian students dropped out of high school, which is higher than their white peers (4.6%). Because of this, many schools do not accurately monitor, record, and report the dropout rates among Asian Americans. As a result, many school districts throughout the nation do not realize the significant number of Asian students they are losing because of a stereotype (Walker Moffat, 1995). In addition to underachievement and growing dropout rates among Asian Americans, the increasing socioeconomic gap between Asians and whites also made the model minority stereotype problematic. According to U.S. Census Bureau, the poverty rates among Asian American groups (12.6%) remain elevated compared to that of their white counterparts and the overall national average (12.4%). The negative effects of the model minority myth and stereotypes are also evident in secondary and post graduate education. Research shows that the false representation of Asian students has evolved into the inaccurate view and additional stereotype that Asian students achieve their success through dishonest means and threaten the success of their academic peers (Suzuki, 2002). For example, the increased profiling of Asian students in higher education has resulted in directly adverse learning environments that place additional negative views on their success (Yeh, 2002). • 5. Persuasive Essay On Discipline Or Abuse Discipline or Abuse Some people say that parenting is the most difficult job in the world. Parents always face difficult choices when it comes to raising their children. Choices like education, nutrition, and child care are among those choices, but one of the most important choices a parent must face, is how will they discipline their children. Which method is the most effective to raise well behaved children, thus well behave adults. By definition, the word discipline means the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience (oxford dictionary). Parents can implement several methods of discipline, and most commonly than not, one those methods chosen by parents include corporal punishment, which can include hitting, smacking, slapping, striking a child with your hand or with an object. The method used to discipline is completely a parent s choice, but the question remains, is hitting, spanking, or striking a child in favor of discipline, an effective way to discipline, or is it just a pure act of child abuse? Any method of discipline a parents chooses will attempt to reach the same goal, to teach children that there will be consequences for their bad behavior, and that good behavior is expected. However, by choosing corporal punishment, some experts argue that it has a negative effect on children that can be carried with them throughout their adulthood. This disciplinary methods alters the way a child ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Benefits Of A Incentive Pay For Teachers Incentive Pay for Teachers If you re a student, it may not be long before you find yourself in a classroom competing with peers from all over the world. With the ensuing tide of globalization, the top companies and firms will be able to look beyond students from local schools and access a growing global talent pool. Over the last two decades, countries around the world have focused on expanding and innovating education as the key to maximizing well being, reducing poverty, and increasing economic growth. As a result, Canada may soon find itself trailing behind international standards, which would gravely impact Canada s ability to stay competitive with the global economy. Having spent the second most out of 32 developed countries in the world, Canadians understand the importance of investing in education. Improving education outcomes is a key priority for governments around the world, if Canada wants to stay competitive it must be willing to innovate. One idea long neglected: incentive pay for teachers. It sounds simple enough: an honest day s pay for an honest day s work, those who achieve better results should be better compensated in return. But depending on who you ask, the notion is either rationally straightforward or utterly perverse. The idea that teachers should be compensated based on their performance has Canadians entrenched in a heated debate. In 2014, a report published by the Fraser Institute advocating for teacher incentive pay was immediately met with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Movie The Things They Carried The Actual War Scenario Vietnam War The Things They Carried, is a novel based on the Vietnam War, and the book reveals the truth of the war as the author remembers the war after twenty one years and snows his guilt and emotions for the war. The Things They Carried, belongs high on the list of the best fiction about any war... crystallizes the Vietnam experiences for everyone and exposes the nature of all war stories.( New York Times, Book of the Century ). Tim O Brien, the author of the book is both the narrator and the protagonist of the book. O Brien use of storytelling along with theme is the part of the book which makes it more realistic and effective, which is the ultimate point and purpose of the author. O Brien believes that stories have immense power, they gain the attention of the audience and allows them to confront and face with the situation together and share the experience. Telling stories returns to narrative. For example, Mitchell Sanders the resident of the Alpha company and the storyteller tells story consisting of myths to the specifics. • 8. Art Museum Reflection Paper Before visiting the Seattle Art Museum (SAM) to observe and analyze the art covered in class, I made sure to read the museum s mission statement. That way, it would be in my mind as I walked through the halls and moved from gallery to gallery and I could revisit it afterward. According to Seattle Art Museum s executive summary and strategic plan for 2014 2017, the museum s mission is a simple one: to connect art to life. Through art, the Seattle Art Museum enriches lives and engages diverse communities. As the leading visual art institution in the Pacific Northwest, SAM draws on its global collections, powerful exhibitions, and dynamic programs to provide unique educational resources benefiting the Seattle region, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond (Seattle Art Museum). Regarding the fact that I am writing this now and had the opportunity to observe and research many works of art proves their mission to be successful. Walking into the museum, I noticed that it already appeared to be much bigger on the inside than it did on the outside. The first two floors were lit mostly by natural light and provided museum visitors access to tickets, information about the museum, the gift shop, and some food. The remaining floors were dimmer and mostly just the art pieces were given light to eliminate distraction. The American, Native American, and modern/contemporary art was displayed on the third floor while the African, European, and Mediterranean art was found on the top floor. The three art pieces that interested me the most were all found on the third floor in mostly the modern and contemporary art section. To, help uncover the power of detail behind the artwork, I chose three pieces corresponding to abstract and abstract expressionism from artists Jackson Pollock, Josef Albers, and Eva Hesse to research and truly analyze. The first powerful example of abstract art and in this case, abstract expressionism, comes from Jackson Pollock. Paul Jackson Pollock was born in Cody, Wyoming, in 1912, to a family with four other sons. When Pollock was nine years old, his father abandoned the family and returned when only after Pollock had already moved out of the house. Though his childhood was a fairly rough, he loved nature ... • 12. Zombie Apocalypse History 6 Of The Most Original Zombie Movies Ever Made Even the most passionate zombie movie fan will have to admit that the genre gets played out from time to time. Sure, we all love a good walking dead/end of the world film. Yet, it s been a long time since George A. Romero and Night of the Living Dead scared up audiences in 1968. Since then, a slew of films have been produced and they ve varied wildly in terms of quality. Some being quality, but most not so much. Yet, it s not always the quality of a zombie film that makes people come. Some just want to see the undead devouring on some human flesh. Films have ranged from classic horror themes to ridiculous plots about loved ones coming back from the dead. Some are even timepieces that may only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Critics both loved and faulted FotLD s zany, largely original plot despite attempting to cash in on two often cliche genres in one film. While the film did receive high marks from some critics, FotLD never created much of a buzz. But it does have the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop in it. So, that should make someone reading this interested, right? Warm Bodies (2013) A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper with a background into the main zombie character, R. In doing so, the film showed a human element to the undead (thanks largely to Nicholas Hoult s voiceovers) that hasn t been explored in detail in other films. Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes. It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories. Besides, it s not as if Warm Bodies was a trilogy centered on a love triangle involving a teenage girl, a vampire and a werewolf. That would just be over the top. **This article originally appeared on The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Philippines Research Paper 30,000 years ago, it is believed that the Negritos have migrated to the Philippines from Borneo, Sumatra, and Malaya. Following that, the Malayans followed in successive waves. The Malayan culture has survived to this day among certain groups such as the Igorots. The later Malayan tribes that came had more highly developed cultures. In the 14th century, Arab traders introduced Islam to the islands and extended their influence. In 1521, the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan led an expedition around the world, and one of his resting points was in the Philippines. After World War II, Manuel Roxas became the first president of the Republic of the Philippines when independence was granted, as scheduled, on July 4, 1946 from the United States. As time went along, the Philippines had more presidents after Roxas, including Elpidio Quirino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos P. García, and Diosdado Macapagal, all who served 4 year terms. Then, the president after Macapagal, Ferdinand E. Marcos, served as president from 1965 to 1986. During this time, government corruption and civil disorder increased. After a series of fraud attempts in the 1986 elections, Marcos lost his support and Corazon Aquino became president. So being able to relax and not speed through my deliveries helps me to not care how soon I can make the next delivery, and I still get done close to the same time. Unit 6 Assignment 6 Chris Wiginton Essay Chris Wiginton IS 3120 Unit 6 Assignment 6 Cisco Layer 2 Resiliency Compared to HP s IRF In order to provide speed and reliability, large and enterprise level networks today are typically constructed in multiple layers. They are the access layer, also called the network edge layer, the aggregation or distribution layer; and the network core layer. The access layer is usually a mesh of network switches, linked to other switches in the aggregation layer, which in turn is linked to the core. This mesh type application of switches provides multiple paths for network traffic to flow. What this means is that if one link in the traffic flow or a switch goes down, traffic can continue to flow using an alternate path. This type of mesh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The layer 2 is designed to streamline change management and service turn up without WAN disruption with fewer errors. Cisco Layer 2 Resiliency offers increased system redundancy at the platform level, network security through access layer defense, identity based trust, pervasive security and management as well as providing device posture assessments. Operational efficiency is achieved through automated configuration, proactive diagnostics and simplified troubleshooting. This is designed to provide predictable application performance to support converged applications as well as support IP multicast for new applications. As with HP s IRF Resiliency, there are several disadvantages associated with Cisco Layer 2 Resiliency. The router supports REP only when the router is running the metro IP access or the metro access image. You have to configure each segment port or an incorrect configuration will cause forwarding loops in networks. REP can only manage one failed port within a segment. Multiple port failures within the REP segment cause high loss of network connectivity. Due to its simplistic manageability and scalability I would recommend HP s IRF Resiliency over Cisco Layer ... The poem reflected American African s living situation during the Harlem Renaissance, it sufficiently revealed the cultural charm of Negros and Hughes s fully affirms of his national dignity. In my paper, I will analyze the methods and techniques Hughes used to highlight the musical elements in this poem. Jazz and blues are both styles of music which were discovered by Negros. They are important to Hughes and his culture, and according to the sad and painful tunes in jazz and blues, Hughes wanted us to listen and understand his culture from this poem. The Weary Blues has a rather oral character style; the fundamental key is very slow and sentimental, but the poem is full of musicality, and makes readers felt if they are staying on the scene. I felt not only the special pleasing quality of Negro s ballad, but also felt depressed from Negro s circumstances during that time. Tochia Hendrix Jordan 6 February 2016 Romance Embodied through Figurative Language in Taylor Swift s Red The song Red was written and recorded by famed singer/songwriter Taylor Swift for her album of the same name. It is a song that is full of figurative speech; the songstress makes use of similes, metaphors, and imagery. These three techniques work together to convey the many emotions the singer feels when she looks back at the end of relationship. Red is a song that is about remembering a relationship and thinking about the emotions good or bad that it brought on. The first two lines of the song, Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street /Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly, provide an example of how Swift uses similes in this song. The artist is writing about how passionate, wild and reckless this progressing relationship was, even though it eventually came to an abrupt halt. Swift again makes use of the simile when she writes, Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you re already flying through the free fall. • 33. Social Responsibility Issues In The 1930 s One reason that there is so much government regulation involving social responsibility issues, is due to the public putting pressure on them to do something about all the bad social conditions occurring to people back in the 1930 s. The government involvement prior to that was centered more on the American business. People had to endure poor working conditions and low wages, without much hope of things improving. There were no advocates for the working class. The change did not come until pressure was put on the government to do something. The turning point came when Franklin D. Roosevelt became president, and started to change the way a business was allowed to operate. Once the government became involved, the conditions, wages, and fair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Just Lather, That s All English 10 1 February 17, 2016 Just Lather, That s All Many have been left thinking and questioning details of Hernando Téllez s Just Lather, That s All . This story depicts the internal conflict of the barber when the most feared military captain comes into the shop for a shave. The protagonist the barber contemplates, weather to kill Torres his enemy and fulfil his revolutionary duties, or shave the Captain without letting one single drop of blood fall on behalf of a good barber. At the end when the Captain is still alive he shocks the barber revealing that he knew all along that he was secretly a rebel and what he wanted to do. This piece of writing has many interesting aspects to analyze, but symbolization, theme and connections were the most meaningful to me. The razor was a very symbolic object according to many people. If you don t already know, symbolization is when we take a solid object and give it and abstract idea. The razor symbolizes countless things throughout this piece. It was evident that it symbolized his profession but, it also could be used as a murder weapon. The moral dilemma it represented of the barber was the most prominent to me. All through the text the barber was faces this internal conflict of to kill or not to kill. Weather to stand by his morality or collective beliefs. Weather to do what he thought was right or to do what he was told to be right. These opposites clash and had resulted in conflict. Hero or murderer? His destiny was set on ...
