AN EFFICIENT FEATURE EXTRACTION METHOD WITH LOCAL REGION ZERNIKE MOMENT FOR F...ieijjournal
Face recognition is one of the most challenging problems in the domain of image processing and machine vision. The face recognition system is critical when individuals have very similar biometric signature such as identical twins. In this paper, the facial area in an image is detected using AdaBoost approach. After that the facial area is divided into some local regions. Finally, new efficient facial-based identical twins feature extractor based on the geometric moment is applied into local regions of face image. The utilized geometric moment is Zernike Moment (ZM) as a feature extractor inside the local regions of facial area of identical twins images. The proposed method is evaluated on two datasets, Twins Days Festival and Iranian Twin Society which contain scaled and rotated facial images of identical twins in different illuminations. The results prove the ability of proposed method to recognize a pair of identical twins. Also, results show that the proposed method is robust to rotation, scaling and changing illumination.

Abstract
Like country India, there are so many people depending upon agriculture. In this area, many farmers don’t know about new
diseases which are impacting on their farm. As the disease changes, the disease control policy also changes. So many farmers
have very sharp observation on crop diseases, but whenever there is new diseases fall on crops then problems occur. Climate also
changes instantly many of times, because of such reasons farmers unable to understand various diseases.
If farmer unable to predict that diseases quickly then it will affect life of crops. Indirectly it gets affects on total productivity of
farm. As we are well known about that world facing lot of problems due rapid growth in population. So our goal is to increase
agricultural productivity using image processing technology which can help farmer in great extent [7].
In this research work, we are trying that crop disease using Artificial neural network (ANN) which work very effectively. First of
all, we have provided an digital image which is taken by digital camera. That image given to Gaussian filter firstly then
transferred to adaptive median filter to filter out noise present inside image. Gaussian filter removes Gaussian noise which is
present inside image. Adaptive noise filter removes impulsive noise which is present inside image. Also it will reduce distortions
which are present inside images. Then image transferred to segmentation part. In image segmentation we have choose CIELAB
color space method to extract color components properly. For segmentation we have used Gabor filter. After this we distinguish
crop diseases on the basis of texture features which are extracted by Gabor filter [6].

MSB based Face Recognition Using Compression and Dual Matching TechniquesCSCJournals
Biometrics are used in almost all communication technology applications for secure recognition. In this paper, we propose MSB based face recognition using compression and dual matching techniques. The standard available face images are considered to test the proposed method. The novel concept of considering only four Most Significant Bits (MSB) of each pixel on image is introduced to reduce the total number of bits to half of an image for high speed computation and less architectural complexity. The Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied to an image with only MSB's, and consider only LL band coefficients as final features. The features of the database and test images are compared using Euclidian Distance (ED) an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to test the performance of the pot method. This paper presents a new technique called Entropy based SIFT (EV-SIFT) for accurate face recognition after the plastic surgery. The corresponding feature extracts the key points and volume of the scale-space structure for which the information rate is determined. This provides least effect on uncertain variations in the face since the entropy is the higher order statistical feature. The corresponding EV-SIFT features are applied to the Support vector machine for classification. The normal SIFT feature extracts the key points based on the contrast of the image and the V- SIFT feature extracts the key points based on the volume of the structure. However, the EV- SIFT method provides both the contrast and volume information. Thus EV-SIFT provide better performance when compared with PCA, normal SIFT and VSIFT based feature extraction.

Abstract Brain is the part of the central nervous system located in skull. For the diagnosis of human brain bearing tumour, skull stripping plays an important pre-processing role. Skull stripping is the process separating brain and non-brain tissues of the head which is the critical processing step in the analysis of neuroimaging data. Though various algorithms have been proposed to address this problem, challenges remain. In this paper a new efficient skull stripping method for magnetic resonance images (MRI) is proposed. This method adopts a two-step approach; in the first step an improved systematic application of morphological reconstructions operations is done for the brain image and in the second step, a thresholding based technique is used to extract the brain inside the skull. This paper experimented on Axial PD and FLAIR MRI brain images. Index Terms: Skull stripping, thresholding, morphological reconstruction, Axial PD and FLAIR MRI images of brain.

In this paper, we present a novel method for image segmentation of the hip joint structure. The
key idea is to transfer the ground truth segmentation from the database to the test image. The
ground truth segmentation of MR images is done by medical experts. The process includes the
top down approach which register the shape of the test image globally and locally with the
database of train images. The goal of top down approach is to find the best train image for each
of the local test image parts. The bottom up approach replaces the local test parts by best train
image parts, and inverse transform the best train image parts to represent a test image by the
mosaic of best train image parts. The ground truth segmentation is transferred from best train
image parts to their corresponding location in the test image.

A novel approach to face recognition based on thermal imagingeSAT Journals
Abstract A novel approach to face recognition system based on thermal image is presented. The thermal images are captured using Thermal Mid Wave Infrared (MWIR) camera system at various temperature to take into consideration of subtle variations that may occur over time. The vasculature information from the image is extracted and used for matching process. Four images are used for registration process. The image registration is done with the Rigid Body Image Registration tool. Before registering Gabor filter is applied to the images and then filtered images are fused and registered. Face segmentation is done by localized region based active counters. The anisotropic diffusion filter is applied to an image and fused with the segmented image. The signature is then generated from the segmented image. Then templates are generated and stored for matching purpose. To perform authenticate the signatures are generated first and matched with the templates stored in the system Keywords – Thermal image, Mid Wave Infrared (MWIR) camera, Rigid Body Image Registration tool, Parona-malik anisotrophic filter, Face segmentation.
Medoid based model for face recognition using eigen and fisher facesijscmcj
Biometric technologies have gained a remarkable impetus in high security applications. Various biometric modalities are widely being used these days. The need for unobtrusive biometric recognition can be fulfilled through Face recognition which is the most natural and non intrusive authentication system. However the vulnerability to changes owing to variations in face due to various factors like pose,
illumination, ageing, emotions, expressions etc make it necessary to have robust face recognition systems.
Various statistical models have been developed so far with varying degree of accuracy and efficiency. This

Feature extraction is becoming popular in face recognition method. Face recognition is the interesting and growing area in real time applications. In last decades many of face recognitions methods has been developed. Feature extraction is the one of the emerging technique in the face recognition methods. In this method an attempt to show best faces recognition method. Here used different descriptors combination like LBP and SIFT, LBP and HOG for feature extraction. Using a single descriptor is difficult to address all variations so combining multiple features in common. Find LBP and SIFT features separately from the images and fuse them with a canonical correlation analysis and same procedure also done using LBP and HOG. The SIFT features have some limitations they don’t work well with lighting changes, quite slow, and mathematically complicated and computationally heavy. The combinations of HOG and LBP features make the system robust against some variations like illumination and expressions. Also, face recognition technique used a different classifier to extract the useful information from images to solve the problems. This paper is organized into four sections. Introduction in the first section. The second section describes feature descriptors and the third section describes proposed methods, final sections describes experiments result and conclusion phase.
A Spectral Domain Local Feature Extraction Algorithm for Face RecognitionCSCJournals
In this paper, a spectral domain feature extraction algorithm for face recognition is proposed, which efficiently exploits the local spatial variations in a face image. For the purpose of feature extraction, instead of considering the entire face image, an entropy-based local band selection criterion is developed, which selects high-informative horizontal bands from the face image. In order to capture the local variations within these high-informative horizontal bands precisely, a feature selection algorithm based on two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform (2D-DFT) is proposed. Magnitudes corresponding to the dominant 2D-DFT coefficients are selected as features and shown to provide high within-class compactness and high between-class separability. A principal component analysis is performed to further reduce the dimensionality of the feature space. Extensive experimentations have been carried out upon standard face databases and the recognition performance is compared with some of the existing face recognition schemes. It is found that the proposed method offers not only computational savings but also a very high degree of recognition accuracy.

A study of techniques for facial detection and expression classificationIJCSES Journal
Automatic recognition of facial expressions is an important component for human-machine interfaces. It
has lot of attraction in research area since 1990's.Although humans recognize face without effort or
delay, recognition by a machine is still a challenge. Some of its challenges are highly dynamic in their
orientation, lightening, scale, facial expression and occlusion. Applications are in the fields like user
authentication, person identification, video surveillance, information security, data privacy etc. The
various approaches for facial recognition are categorized into two namely holistic based facial
recognition and feature based facial recognition. Holistic based treat the image data as one entity without
isolating different region in the face where as feature based methods identify certain points on the face
such as eyes, nose and mouth etc. In this paper, facial expression recognition is analyzed with various
methods of facial detection, facial feature extraction and classification.

Face Recognition System Using Local Ternary Pattern and Signed Number Multipl...inventionjournals
This paper presents a novel approach to face recognition. The task of face recognition is to verify a claimed identity by comparing a claimed image of the individual with other images belonging to the same individual/other individual in a database. The proposed method utilizes Local Ternary Pattern and signed bit multiplication to extract local features of a face. The image is divided into small non-overlapping windows. Processing is carried out on these windows to extract features. Test image’s features are compared with all the training images using Euclidean's distance. The image with lowest Euclidean distance is recognized as the true face image. If the distance between test and all training images is more than threshold then test image is considered as unrecognised image or match not found .The face recognition rate of proposed system is calculated by varying the number of images per person in training database

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

Abstract
Face image is one of the most important parts of human body. It is easily use for identification process. People naturally identify one
another through face images. Due to increase rate of insecurity in our society, accurate machine based face recognition systems are
needed to detect impersonators. Face recognition systems comprise of face detector module, preprocessing unit, feature extraction
subsystem and classification stage. Robust feature extraction algorithm plays major role in determining the accuracy of intelligent
systems that involves image processing analysis. In this paper, pose invariant feature is extracted from human faces. The proposed
feature extraction method involves decomposition of captured face image into four sub-bands using Haar wavelet transform thereafter
shape and texture features are extracted from approximation and detailed bands respectively. The pose invariant feature vector is
computed by fusing the extracted features. Effectiveness of the feature vector in terms of intra-person variation and inter-persons
variation was obtained from feature plots.

1. INTRODUCTION
Recognition of people is usually done using widely accepted
biometric traits like signature, fingerprint and face. Face
identification can be done naturally by people or artificially
using intelligent machines. Naturally people find it easy to
identify faces that are well-known compare to strange faces.
Machine based face recognition involves capturing of face
images using digital camera under variable facial expression
thereafter captured face images are sent to system for
identification. Face images contain important revealing parts
like forehead, eyes, nose, mouth and chin. These parts occupy
different locations and vary closely from one person to
another. The major challenge that makes automatic face
identification difficult is high intra variation within face
images of the same person. This intra variation is caused
majorly by variable illumination and pose.
Face recognition systems comprise of face detection, face
image preprocessing, feature extraction, training and
matching. Feature extraction subsystem is mainly considered
in this work. At preprocessing level many morphological
processing are done to normalize illumination effect [1]. One
method of reducing effect of pose variation is by using robust
feature as input data to classification algorithm. Extraction of
feature from face images can be done in many ways. In the
past many researchers have used methods that involves all the
pixels of the whole image [2][3]. On many occasions feature
are extracted from vital parts of face images [4][5]. Also face
images may be decomposed into smaller image blocks before
feature extraction is carried out [6][7][8].
Extraction of feature vector was carried out using group of
pixel values within eyes, lip and nose regions in [9]. The
feature vector size was reduced and further processed by
application of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and
Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA). In [10], face feature
extraction was done using three multi-scale representation
techniques based on Gabor filter, log Gabor filter and Discrete
Wavelet Transform whereas in [11], invariant face feature was
extracted for recognition purpose using Haar wavelet
transform and Principal Component Analysis .
In this work new approach for feature extraction different
from those used in previous works is introduced. The
proposed feature will suppress effect of varying facial
expression. This is achieved by extracting local shape features
from smaller image blocks. And this feature is fused with
texture feature from detailed bands. The rest of the paper is
organized as follows: Section 2 describes the collection of
input images and decomposition. Section 3 introduces the new
feature extraction method, and section 4 describes feature plot
result. Finally, conclusion is presented in section 5.

2.1 Face Image Decomposition
Firstly, input colour image is resized and converted to
grayscale image as shown in fig.2. The image is passed to
Haar wavelet transform algorithm. The image is decomposed
into four sub-bands (one approximation band and three
detailed bands). The output image obtained from this stage is
as shown in fig3.

Fig-2: Sample of input image.
Fig-3: Output of image decomposition.
3. FEATURE EXTRACTION METHOD
Feature extraction technique describes in this section produce
fused feature that is able to capture pose variation caused by
different facial expression. It is well known that facial
components like eyes, nose, mouth and chin have high gray
level intensity than the surrounding therefore provide
distinguishable edge information. Smooth contour of facial
components are created by performed edge detection operation
on approximation band. Canny edge detection was used for
this operation. The output image was resized as shown in
Fig.4.
3.1 Contour Face Feature
Robust geometric feature is extracted from pixels positions of
the edge detected image. The feature is extracted using the
following steps.
1. Split the edge detected image into two parts
(i) Calculate centre of gravity of the image.
(ii) Partition the image vertically into two image blocks
through the centre of gravity as shown in Fig.5.
Fig-4: Edge detected image.
2. Split each of the image-blocks parts obtained from step one
into four smaller image-blocks
(i) Calculate centre of gravity of each of the image
(ii) Partition each of the images through the centre of gravity
into four smaller image blocks as shown in Fig.6.

3. Obtain two geometric features
(i) Calculate the mean area (mA) of the connected
components in each of the eight smaller image blocks as in
equation1.
(ii) Calculate the mean perimeter (mP) of the connected
components in each of the eight smaller image blocks as in
equation2.
4. Concatenate the two features in step (i) and (ii) to obtain
geometric feature vector as in equation3.
Fig-5: Output of vertical splitting.
Fig-6: Eight image blocks.
3.2 Textural Face Feature
Texture feature is obtained from the detailed bands using
Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). SVD of image H is
defined as H = WSVT
. Matrix W is the m × m dimension
matrix of eigenvectors of the covariance matrix HHT
and
matrix S is an m × n rectangular diagonal matrix whereas
matix V is the n × n matrix of eigenvectors of HT
H. Given that
F1(w,s,v), F2(w,s,v) and F3(w,s,v) are the Single Value
Decomposition features extracted from the LH, HL and HH
band respectively. Texture feature is calculated using only the
first coefficient of the diagonal matrix. Given that F1(s), F2(s)
and F3(s) are the coefficient value of diagonal matrix from
band LH, HL and HH respectively. Therefore texture feature
(T) is calculated as in equation 4.
T = (F1(s) + F2(S) + F3(s))/3 (4)
3.3 Fused Face Feature
At this stage the features extracted from the approximation
band and detail bands are fused together to get the feature that
best describe the image. The fuse feature contains relevant
information from geometric and texture attribute of the face
image. In this work, geometric feature (G) and texture feature
(T) are combined at the feature level as it written in equation
5. The fused feature vector obtained at this stage can use as
input data to train suitable classifier for face recognition.
4. FEATURE TEST
Intra-variation and inter-variation of the proposed feature are
experimental by plotting the feature graph of two face images
of the same person as shown in Fig.7. Also a feature graph of
two face images from different persons is plotted as shown in
Fig.8.

5. CONCLUSIONS
This work presents extraction of fused feature from face
images. The feature is robust enough to reduce intra-face
images variation and increases inter-face images variation.
This feature is produced from first level decomposition of face
image using wavelet transform. Geometric feature obtained
from approximation band is combined with texture feature
from other bands to generate the fused feature vector. Test
results proves that proposed face feature extraction method is
robust enough to reduce the effect of varying face pose for
effective face recognition
