This document analyzes the effect of wind load on tall buildings in different terrain categories. Three building models of varying heights (11, 21, and 31 stories) were analyzed using ETABS software. The results show that deflection increases with building height and is highest in terrain category 1 (open terrain), being up to 38% higher than in category 4 (terrain with numerous obstructions). Deflection also increases with height within each building, with the top floors experiencing the greatest displacement. As building height and terrain openness increase, deflection from wind load rises substantially.
