This is a prize winning presentation based on "role of dentists in identifying cases of child abuse" in an international conference of foresnic odontology organized by King George medical University in Lucknow. The author is herself a dental student who is interested in collecting knowledge about various aspects of dentistry and loves to share the gained knowledge with others. This presentation gives a brief about the role of dentists in identifying the case of child abuse as well as different signs and symptoms along with why to report and where to report. This study examined the relationship between parental engagement and student academic growth. The author analyzed data on 435 students, including their Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) category scores from fall 2013 to spring 2014 and parental attendance at 11 educational meetings. Students with significant parental engagement (attending 6+ meetings) were compared to those with non-significant engagement (attending 5 or fewer meetings). The findings showed that students whose parents were not significantly engaged were less likely to show academic growth, especially those starting in the Below or Meeting DRA categories. The author recommends providing targeted parental meetings and resources to help support the learning of lower-performing students.

Updated nada alamaddine parental engagement research 2014
This study examined the relationship between parental engagement and student academic growth. The author analyzed data on 435 students, including their Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) category scores from fall 2013 to spring 2014 and parental attendance at 11 educational meetings. Students with significant parental engagement (attending 6+ meetings) were compared to those with non-significant engagement (attending 5 or fewer meetings). The findings showed that students whose parents were not significantly engaged were less likely to show academic growth, especially those starting in the Below or Meeting DRA categories. The author recommends providing targeted parental meetings and resources to help support the learning of lower-performing students.

Much of the business of creating and disseminating images has moved away from individual academic departments and isolated image collections toward centralized cross-discipline departments. This has left many visual resource centers looking for new ways to engage users and support the educational goals of their institutions. One way centers are meeting these new challenges is by transforming from being a storage silo for physical slide collections to being a collaborative learning space where students and faculty alike can come to work on projects and refine imaging and videography skills. As many resource centers make this move toward more teaching and learning, the physical spaces and skill sets of employees have also shifted. This session will examine case studies of visual resource centers programming that is directed to teaching imaging skills and how this new role is shifting their profile within their institutions.

In comparing his preliminary task to his final product, the student found improvements in several key areas:
1) The camerawork was more advanced with varied angles and shots that flowed better in the final product.
2) The editing was improved with fewer errors and smoother flowing action between shots.

4) Background music and sound effects were added to the final product to build tension and make the conversation and story more interesting.

How often have you heard about a student struggling abroad who could have been helped if advised sooner? We've seen an increase in the number students exploring study abroad who have "invisible identities" not often discussed. In this session, presenters will discuss the opportunities and challenges in advising, resources, and on-site support for such students with mental-health issues, learning disabilities, dietary restrictions, and allergies. Presenters will discuss the importance of early disclosure, planning, and partnerships for long-term inclusion, from university and provider perspectives.
Baby Watch Early Intervention program
