1. EDITING YOUR WRITING
Before you print your final essay, read through these
slides and check your essay to be sure you have the
correct structure and mechanics included.
2. TITLE AND NAME
Your title should be centered at the top.
You can enlarge the font and choose a fun lettering.
Write your name centered under the title- always
write your FIRST and LAST name.

3. PARAGRAPH FORMAT
Your paragraphs should always be indented.
For a final essay, you need to double space.
Highlight the whole essay (not title and name)
Click on the Line Spacing icon
Choose 2.0
4. FONT STYLE
Remember, you may only use the following fonts for
final essays:
Arial
Times New Roman
Cambria
Calibri
Comic Sans
**** Your font size should be no more than 16 point and no
smaller than 12 point.
5. CAPITAL LETTERS
Beginning of every sentence.
All names or people and places. (Proper nouns)
All months, days of the week.
Every time you write I
The first letter of all the words in your title, except
little words like a, and, the, and of
6. PUNCTUATION
Periods at the end of every sentence.
Capital letters in correct places.
Question marks for questions.
“Quotation marks” for dialogue (speaking).
7. SPELLING
If you have any red lines underlining words, check
the spelling.
If it marks a name as spelled incorrectly, you can
ignore it.
