EDELNet: goal, programme and achievements by Juan J. Garcia Blesa (FernUniversität in Hagen) presented during the Maastricht Innovation In Higher Education Days 2017
The document describes a half-day public engagement workshop for researchers. It begins with an introductory discussion about public engagement activities at participants' institutions. Researchers then work in pairs to present each other's research topics before selecting one topic to present to the group in two different styles. The goal is for researchers to practice communicating their work to non-specialists. Other public engagement activities discussed include working with schools, participatory action research with communities, public events, competitions, and working with the media.
This training aims to teach researchers public engagement skills and opportunities for an EU-funded project. The goals are to help researchers communicate their work to non-experts, and to give insight into challenges of raising public awareness of research. An exercise has participants explain their research to each other in 90 second presentations to practice these skills.

To align the test team with project and company goals, he had to develop virtual training plans and implement new practices to deal with the host of issues he faced. One key step was to quickly select and implement new communication and collaboration tools for his distributed team and others to use. Willie shares how all the stakeholders pulled together, employing updated practices and new tools to pull off what some thought was a “mission impossible.” Come and listen to Willie’s story to learn how you can develop, train, lead, and manage virtual teams—large or small.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
