Ecosystems
Unit 3
An ecosystem
• Includes all of the living things and non
living things in a particular place.
An ecosystem also includes
• The relationships that exist between those
things.
A habitat is the place where
particular living things lives
Each animal and planta depends
on its habitat for food
An ecosystem is made up of
• The biotope and the biocenosis
The biotope
• It´s the physical environment. It includes
all of the non living things in a ecosystem.
• Soil, light, temperature…
The biocenosis
• Includes all the living things in an
ecosystem, such as plants, animals and
other organisms.
In a ecosytem there are:
• Population and communities
Population is
• A group of organism that live togheter and
belong to the same species.
Comunnity
• It´s a collection of different populations
that live together in one place.
In ecosystems there are two types
of relationships
• intraspecific: exists between members of
the same species.
• Extraspecific between members of
different species.
Trophic relationships

Woodland ecosystems
Coast ecosystems
BIOSPHERE IS
• ALL THE ECOSYSTEMS ON THE
EARTH.
