It references letters from 1845 that argue the Laodicean church emerges from the Philadelphia church and will be lukewarm, self-sufficient, and in need of nothing despite being wretched. The letters warn of a growing Laodicean influence among Sabbatarian Adventists that will oppose the message of the Advent Review publishing committee.
THIS MESSAGE IS TAKEN FROM REVELATION 14:6-12. THIS IS THE MESSAGE THAT IS TO BE PREACHED RIGHT NOW THAT WILL RIPEN THE WORLD INTO TWO GROUPS: THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED...
Jethro, the priest of Midian and father-in-law of Moses, hears about what God has done for Moses and Israel in bringing them out of Egypt. He visits Moses at Mount Sinai where Moses is meeting with God. As a Midianite priest, Jethro would have led his people in worshipping other gods. However, he recognizes the power and greatness of God after hearing what God did for Israel. He offers sacrifices to God and converts to worshipping only God. Jethro gives Moses wise counsel about establishing a system of leadership and judges to help govern and teach the people. The document then discusses the significance of events and details around the giving of the Ten Commandments to Moses by
The document discusses the holiness of God as presented in the Bible. It provides many scripture quotes to highlight that God is holy in his name, throne, habitation, works, words and desire for humanity. It notes that God revealed himself as holy, almighty, eternal and righteous. The document emphasizes that God's people and everything associated with him, such as his sanctuary, are also expected to be holy as he is holy.
The restoration of God's sanctuary and people is the central theme of end-time prophecies. For Jesus to restore His kingdom and become King, the sanctuary must first be cleansed through the restoration of God's people to a sinless condition. Only when God's people are purified and reflect the character of Christ will the sanctuary be cleansed and Jesus able to restore all things lost through sin. God's people must receive the seal of God by keeping His commandments and refusing the mark of the beast as the final test and preparation before the close of probation.
Journey Through The Bible: Isaiah Part 2 - The Messianic propheciesResurrection Church
The Book of Isaiah contains some of the most detailed and revealing prophecies about Jesus. God reveals to Isaiah that the Messiah will come first as a servant who will die for the sins of the people and will come again to rule the world.
Isaiah lived 600 years before Jesus was born and all of the predictions about the first coming of the Messiah were fulfilled exactly by Jesus.
The document discusses the sanctuary and its significance. It explains that the earthly sanctuary that God commanded Moses to build was a pattern of the heavenly sanctuary. It describes how Satan seeks to veil Jesus and the sanctuary from our sight. It then discusses the significance of the "daily" or "continual" services that occurred in the earthly sanctuary, and how the papacy exalted itself and took away the daily/continual aspect of the sanctuary services.
The document discusses the final preparations and appeals of mercy before Jesus returns. It says that now is the time to work saving souls who are lost and perishing, rather than among those already in the fold. It warns that the world is increasingly setting aside God's claims, and wickedness is filling up the measure of iniquity. When Sunday laws become universal, God will intervene and shake the earth mightily to punish sin and reveal His power. The signs of the times like wars, famines, and earthquakes show that Christ's return is near. The Spirit is being withdrawn from an unrepentant world, with plagues already falling.
The document provides an overview and summary of Revelation 1. It describes how John receives a revelation from Jesus Christ about events that would soon take place. John is told to write down what he sees and send letters to 7 churches in Asia. When John turns to see the voice speaking to him, he sees Jesus standing among 7 golden lampstands. Jesus appears royal and glorious, with eyes like fire. He holds 7 stars and a sharp sword comes from his mouth. Jesus tells John not to be afraid and reminds him that he is the living one who was dead but is now alive forevermore.
The document outlines the plan of salvation according to scripture. It discusses the problem of sin, the reason for salvation through Jesus Christ, and the solution found through faith in Christ. It encourages the reader to make a decision to accept Christ's salvation by having faith in Him.
- Gideon's army was originally 32,000 men but God reduced it to only 300 to fight the Midianites so that the victory could not be attributed to the size of the army but to God.
- Gideon's 300 men surrounded the Midianite camp at night, blew trumpets, broke clay pitchers with lamps inside to create light and noise, and scared the Midianites into fleeing and killing each other in the chaos.
- Though a small force, God's way led to victory, showing that strategic surprise can overcome larger forces and that God's methods may seem unusual but are always best.

1) God does not faint or grow weary, and gives power to those who are faint. Waiting on the Lord renew strength.
2) When trying to comfort oneself, Jeremiah's heart grew faint.
3) Men ought to always pray and not faint. God gives the ministry of mercy so that people do not faint in their work. If people do not faint, they will reap rewards for their labor.
Jesus performs two healings during his first Galilean tour: healing a man with leprosy and a man paralyzed who was lowered through a roof on a bed. In both cases, Jesus not only heals the men physically, but also declares their sins forgiven, prompting accusations of blasphemy from scribes. Jesus then heals the men physically to prove he has the authority on earth to forgive sins as the Son of Man. Large crowds witness the healings and glorify God in response.
The document discusses the concept of "the deep" from both biblical and historical perspectives. It provides several biblical passages that reference the deep, including Genesis describing the earth being without form prior to creation and the spirit of God hovering over the waters. It suggests the deep refers to water or a profound, unfathomable place. The document also characterizes Leviathan as a sea creature, linking it to descriptions of the devil. Finally, it proposes that the deep refers to a location beyond the earth where Satan and his followers were originally cast out from heaven.
This document discusses the significance of the Bible verse John 3:16. It notes that this verse is widely known even by non-believers and explores some of the spiritual and numerical patterns relating to the numbers 3, 1, 6, and references to 3:16 in the New Testament. Specifically, it finds meanings in the Trinity in the number 3, God's oneness in 1, mankind in 6, and fulfillment of promises in the number 21, as Daniel's prayer was answered after 21 days. The document suggests John 3:16 and its prominence is no coincidence, but intended by God.
Teachers have a great responsibility and blessing, as they will be judged more strictly but also called great in heaven if they teach faithfully. The document outlines the duty of teachers to instruct with wisdom, patience, and sound doctrine on salvation through Christ. It warns of temptations to appeal to pride or desires rather than sound teaching. Teachers must look to purify themselves and their followers as they await Christ, firmly instructing with God's authority.
The document summarizes Jesus healing six blind men according to different biblical accounts, noting there was no set pattern of healing. It also discusses the healing of a blind man in John 9, noting the Pharisees questioned the man and accused him of being blind due to sin. Jesus said he was sent to bring sight to the blind and exposed the Pharisees' spiritual blindness. The document analyzes various verses from the account, addressing theological issues and lessons that can be learned.
This chapter discusses Jesus' teachings about the end times and his second coming. It references signs that will precede these events, such as wars, famines, earthquakes, false prophets and the abomination of desolation in the holy place. The chapter emphasizes being ready and warns that the exact timing of Jesus' return is unknown. It encourages faithfulness, watching for signs, and avoiding deception until the Son of Man returns.
The document discusses that Old Testament saints did not look forward to or understand the cross as the disciples did not either. It notes that Old Testament saints went to Abraham's Bosom or paradise instead of heaven upon death, as seen in examples from the Bible. The document argues that Old Testament saints like Abraham and Lazarus did not go to heaven until Jesus ascended based on Ephesians 4:8. In contrast, it states that saints who die in the Lord today go immediately into heaven based on 2 Corinthians 5:8.
The document provides commentary on Psalm 49, discussing several key themes:
1) Earthly riches cannot redeem one's soul or guarantee eternal life, while Christ's blood provides eternal redemption for believers.
2) The wealthy put misplaced trust in material possessions but will die like all people and cannot take their wealth with them.
3) Psalm 49 contains parables and dark sayings that reference biblical stories and prophecies about judgment, tribulation, and God redeeming the righteous.
The document discusses the meaning of the word "anon" as it is used in the Bible. It provides several Bible verses from Matthew and Mark that use the word "anon" and defines it to mean "immediately" based on a parallel verse in Mark. It also discusses Jesus ordaining the twelve disciples and lists the names of the disciples from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Finally, it compares Jesus giving the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12 with the parallel account in Luke 6:17-22.
The document summarizes Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5, focusing on who will be blessed. It discusses how the promises to the meek who inherit the earth, those who hunger for righteousness and are filled, and the peacemakers who are God's children will be fulfilled in the future millennial kingdom after Jesus returns. It also explains that the blessings for those persecuted for righteousness refer to both the present Church age and the future judgment. The rewards promised will be received either at the judgment seat of Christ for believers or the white throne judgment for Old Testament saints and prophets. False prophets are also discussed as a major topic in the Bible.
1) The document discusses the topic of debt from both biblical and modern perspectives. It provides biblical examples of the Israelites borrowing goods from Egyptians and David's mighty men gathering when in debt or distress.
2) It discusses how debt limits life's options and freedom by transferring wealth and rights to the creditor. When debt is purchased by a debt buyer, the buyer can pursue collection of the debt.
3) The document asserts that Jesus provided the ultimate solution to debt and its burdens through his life, death and resurrection. His sacrifice allows people to be released from the bondage of sin and debt.
The document discusses how God will visit and punish nations for their sins such as adultery, covetousness, rejecting God's word, deceit, lack of knowledge, prophesying falsely in God's name, refusing to be restrained in wandering, and pastors scattering and not visiting God's flock. It suggests that God's visitation will involve laying waste to cities, giving wives and fields to others, famine, the young dying by the sword, bringing evil, remembering iniquity and sins, casting down, melting and trying people, and bringing people into the wilderness.
1) Marriage is meant to picture Christ's relationship with the church.
2) In the Bible, divorce breaks this picture, except in cases of adultery, where the marriage no longer depicts Christ and the church.
3) Paul provides guidance for Christians regarding marriage, divorce, and remarriage. He instructs that it is better to remain single if possible, but if married, spouses should not separate except in cases of adultery or an unbelieving spouse initiating divorce. Remarriage is acceptable in these cases.
This document discusses the stages of spiritual maturity from disciple to apostle. It compares this journey to the stages of fruit bearing in the Bible.
The three stages discussed are:
1. The first 3 years/as a disciple where the fruit is uncircumcised and not eaten. This represents being a new believer.
2. The 4th year where the fruit is holy but not yet eaten, representing growing in strength and the word abiding in you.
3. The 5th year and beyond/as an apostle, where the fruit is fully yielded and eaten, representing spiritual fathers who bear the fruit of the spirit abundantly.
The document provides background information on Paul's letter to the Ephesians. It discusses Paul's visits to Ephesus during his missionary journeys and how he established the church there. It then summarizes some of the key points Paul makes in the letter, including that believers have spiritual blessings in Christ, being chosen by God if they are in Christ, and being redeemed and sealed with the Holy Spirit upon believing. The document examines various verses and argues against interpretations used to support Calvinism.
1. The document discusses the significance of the lamb in the Bible, from God clothing Adam and Eve with skins after the fall, to Abel's acceptable sacrifice in contrast to Cain's, to Jesus being referred to as the Lamb of God who was sacrificed to atone for sin.
2. It notes how Barabbas was released in place of Jesus at the crucifixion, with Barabbas representing the unredeemed man facing God's curse, while Jesus as the lamb took the curse upon himself.
3. The lamb symbolizes the promise of the coming fulfillment in Jesus, who through his death and resurrection redeemed mankind from the curse of the law.
The document provides details from biblical passages describing the birth of Jesus Christ. It recounts the angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary that she would give birth to Jesus, the Son of God, as well as prophecies from Isaiah about a virgin conceiving and bearing a son. It then describes Mary's visit with Elizabeth, the decree from Caesar Augustus that led Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem where Jesus was born, the announcement of his birth to shepherds by angels, and the visit of wise men from the East who came to worship the newborn king. The document aims to establish the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah through these biblical accounts of Jesus's miraculous conception and birth.
Advent + christmas, time of hope and peace (2 edit)Martin M Flynn
The document discusses the themes of Advent and Christmas, including hope, peace, and preparation. It provides historical context for the celebration of Christ's birth and the Advent season as a time to remember Christ's first coming as an infant, live in the present with his spiritual presence, and prepare for his second coming. Key figures mentioned are Mary, Joseph, John the Baptist, the prophets Isaiah, Micah and others who foretold Christ's coming. Traditions like the Advent wreath and meanings behind its elements are explained. Pope Benedict XVI's perspectives on Advent as a time of prayer, conversion and making Christ's presence known in the world are presented.
This document provides summaries of several passages from the New Testament, beginning with introductions to the Gospels and their authors. It then summarizes key events from Jesus' life, including the Annunciation, Nativity, Flight into Egypt, Jesus among the doctors, his healing and preaching, the Sermon on the Mount, calming the storm, exorcisms, and walking on water. The summaries are brief, highlighting the essential people, places and events in 3 sentences or less per passage.
This document contains the text of hymns and passages from the Bible about the birth of Jesus Christ. It discusses several figures seen as the "star" of Christmas, including Mary, Joseph, the wise men, and the shepherds who came to see the baby Jesus. The overall message is that Jesus, who was born in Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph, is the true star and reason for celebrating Christmas as he came to save humanity from sin.
(1) The document provides an overview of the Gospel of Luke, including the prologue which states the purpose for writing and summaries of key passages about Zechariah, Mary, and Jesus at age 12 in the temple.
(2) It summarizes Luke's introduction where he states his goal to provide an orderly account for Theophilus so that he may know the certainty of what was taught, and passages about angels foretelling the births of John the Baptist to Zechariah and Mary.
(3) It also briefly summarizes the story of a 12-year old Jesus discussing scripture with teachers in the temple, surprising his parents with his understanding.
This document provides an overview of Mary's life as depicted in the Bible, beginning with prophecies about her in the Old Testament. It describes Mary's conception and upbringing, her acceptance of becoming the mother of Jesus when visited by the angel Gabriel, key events from Jesus' birth and childhood, and her presence at Jesus' first miracle at the wedding in Cana. The document utilizes numerous passages from the gospels of Matthew, Luke, and John to construct the narrative.
This document summarizes the biblical accounts of the births of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. It describes how angels foretold that Zacharias and Elizabeth would have a son named John who would prepare the way for the Messiah. It then tells of how the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her she would conceive and give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. Mary accepted this despite being a virgin, and gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem, just as Gabriel had prophesied.
The document provides background information on the places mentioned in the Gospel of Luke, including the timeline of important events in the Holy Land from the birth of Christ to modern times. It also summarizes some of the key themes in Luke, such as an emphasis on prayer, the Holy Spirit, inclusion of women and sinners, and concern for the poor. Several passages from Luke are then quoted that describe events like the annunciation to Mary, the birth of Jesus, his baptism and time in the desert, teachings and miracles, the transfiguration, his entry into Jerusalem, the last supper, crucifixion and burial.
The document describes the seven sorrows of Mary according to Catholic tradition: 1) the prophecy of Simeon about Jesus' destiny, 2) the flight into Egypt to escape Herod, 3) losing Jesus in the temple as a boy, 4) meeting Jesus on his way to the cross, 5) witnessing Jesus' crucifixion, 6) taking Jesus' body down from the cross, 7) Jesus' burial. It then describes the seven joys of Mary: 1) the Annunciation, 2) the Visitation, 3) Jesus' Nativity, 4) the adoration of the Magi, 5) finding Jesus in the temple, 6) Jesus' resurrection, 7) Mary's assumption

Extra Credit – Reflection on the Nativity Gospels
Instructions: The following passages are read in many Christian churches around Christmas. This particular
order is based off of the Byzantine Catholic order of readings for the morning and evening services for
Christmas Eve. For 2.5 points extra credit, read the following narratives and write a 1 page reflection (12pt
Times New Roman, 1-inch margins, single-spaced); you can reflect on such things as how a Christian would
understand these passages, your own reactions to these passages or their order, or how these passages refer to
different topics we have discussed in this course. This extra credit assignment is due by class time (either email
or hard copy) on Thursday, December 3rd. No late submissions will be accepted!
(Matthew 1: 18-25)
18 Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but
before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit.
19 Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce
her quietly.
20 Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph,
son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that
this child has been conceived in her.
21 She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means “God is with us.”
24 When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.
25 He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named him Jesus.
(Luke 2:1-20)
1 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled.
2 This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
3 So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town.
4 And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called
Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
5 to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
6 While they were there, the time came for her to have her child,
7 and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock.
9 The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck
with great fear.
10 The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be
for all the people.
11 For today ...
The religious leaders in Jesus' time accused him of casting out demons through the power of Beelzebub, the prince of demons. When Jesus refuted this claim, the religious leaders demanded that he perform a miracle as proof of his authority. Jesus refused, saying they were an evil generation who only sought signs. He referenced the story of Jonah, saying he too would be in the earth for three days and nights like Jonah was in the whale's belly. Jesus warned that the people of Nineveh and the Queen of Sheba would condemn this generation on judgment day for their lack of repentance, despite greater revelation having been given through Jesus than through Jonah or Solomon.
This document outlines and describes the seven miracles of Christmas according to Pastor David L. Brown. They are: 1) The Annunciation to Mary by the angel Gabriel, 2) The conception of Jesus through the Holy Spirit, 3) The explanation given to Joseph about Mary's pregnancy, 4) The incarnation of God in human form, 5) The declaration of Jesus' birth to the shepherds, 6) The conversation between God and his Son about Jesus' purpose, and 7) The visit of the wise men guided by a star. Each miracle is explained in detail from the relevant Bible passages.
The document discusses the true meaning of Christmas, which is found in the story of Jesus Christ, not secular Christmas stories. It summarizes the biblical Christmas narrative, including the angel's announcements to Mary and Joseph about the virgin birth, the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, the angels telling the shepherds about the savior's birth, and the wise men worshipping the infant Jesus. It emphasizes that Christmas is about celebrating God becoming human in Jesus to save people from their sins.
If you want to know what does the Bible say about Christmas, or maybe you are looking for some beautiful Bible verses that represent the season, then this manually curated Scriptures on Christmas from the Old and New Testament of The holy bible, King James Version (KJV), will certainly help you.
The document discusses the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord, which commemorates when Mary and Joseph presented Jesus at the temple in Jerusalem in accordance with Jewish law. It references passages from 1 Samuel, Hebrews, Luke, and Psalm 84 that describe how God gave the gift of Jesus to destroy death. The key events summarized are Hannah presenting Samuel at the temple in response to God opening her womb, Mary and Joseph presenting the infant Jesus at the temple as was customary under the law, and Simeon prophesying that Jesus would be a light of revelation for Gentiles and glory for Israel.
This is a combination of the Bible verses I shared plus a handout I put together that I gave out after the speech at the meeting before Christmas at our Toastmaster club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rydkt1VuZrQ
This document is the Gospel of Luke chapters 1-2 from the Holy Bible. It describes the birth and early life of Jesus Christ. In chapter 1, it describes Jesus' conception and the births of John the Baptist and Jesus. Zacharias and Elizabeth conceive John the Baptist, while Mary conceives Jesus after being visited by the angel Gabriel. In chapter 2, it describes Jesus' birth in Bethlehem and presentation at the Temple, as well as his childhood years growing up in Nazareth.
This document summarizes several passages from the book of Acts that describe events following Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus. It tells of how Saul began preaching in Damascus and arguing with Jews, and how he was forced to flee to Jerusalem after a plot to kill him. In Jerusalem the disciples were afraid of Saul, but Barnabas vouched for him. The document then describes Peter healing Aeneas and raising Tabitha from the dead, which led to many in Joppa believing in the Lord. It concludes by noting that Peter stayed with the tanner Simon.
This document provides an overview of the Advent and Christmas season from a Catholic perspective. It discusses the origins and meanings of Advent, focusing on preparing spiritually for the celebration of Jesus' birth. Key figures discussed include John the Baptist, Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah and Zechariah. The document examines the role of these biblical figures in relation to Advent traditions of remembering the past, living in the present, and preparing for the future coming of Christ.
apparent contradiction in the bible Ahaziah.pdfBible Preaching
Ahaziah was anointed to be king of Judah at age 22 but did not sit on the throne until age 42. He was the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, but also considered the son-in-law of Ahab, king of Israel, through marriage to one of Ahab's daughters or Jehoram's daughters. There is evidence that Ahaziah had a joint reign with both Jehoshaphat and Ahab prior to becoming sole king of Judah due to the political alliances between their kingdoms.

Isaac grows old and his eyes dim, so he asks his son Esau to hunt venison so he can bless him before death. Rebekah overhears and tricks Isaac into blessing Jacob instead by disguising him as Esau. When Esau discovers this, he vows to kill Jacob after Isaac's death. Rebekah sends Jacob away to her brother Laban's house to avoid Esau's wrath until his anger subsides. The document examines themes of sight, struggle, and separation within the passage and concludes that true comfort comes through sanctification by the Holy Spirit rather than human schemes.
Isaac sowed crops and received a hundredfold return, prospering greatly with flocks, herds, and servants. However, the Philistines grew envious and stopped up wells dug by Isaac's father. Abimelech told Isaac to leave, so he moved and redug the wells, persevering despite opposition. Through patience, diligence, and recognizing God's blessings, Isaac retained prosperity and found peace at Rehoboth. The document examines the proper means to prosperity through effort, God's favor, enduring hardship patiently, and gratitude.

This document analyzes Genesis 25:21-24, which describes Isaac praying for his barren wife Rebekah and she conceiving twins. It is divided into four sections:
1. The Waiting - Describes Isaac praying for 20 years for children like Abraham waited.
2. The Wondering - References Rebekah wondering what was happening in her body as the twins struggled.
3. The Warring - Discusses the twins (Jacob and Esau) warring in the womb and foreshadowing their relationship, with the younger serving the older.
4. Conclusion - States that for Christians, every day is a day to reckon or account for, like
This document discusses the life of Isaac based on passages from the Bible. It is divided into three sections:
I. Leaving - Discussing Isaac after the death of his father Abraham.
II. Receiving - How God blessed Isaac after Abraham's death.
III. Residing - Mentions Isaac resided by the well Lahairoi, the same place where Hagar met an angel and where Isaac lived when he married Rebekah.
The document uses Isaac's life to draw parallels about having strength in times of loss and how God provides for those who trust in him.

The document discusses the importance and power of God's word as revealed in scripture. It notes that the disciples could relate their eyewitness experience of Jesus' transfiguration on the Mount because they had God's word in writing to back up their testimony. It then provides numerous Bible verses emphasizing that the word of God is perfect, eternal, a light, spirit, judge, saves souls, true, faithful, settled in heaven, should not be blasphemed, pure, and holy.
Rebekah is presented as a type of the Christian church in the Old Testament. Some key points:
1) Rebekah is a Gentile who marries Isaac, representing Christians (Gentiles) joining with Christ (promised seed).
2) She is called out of her homeland and family to follow Abraham's servant to marry Isaac, representing Christians being called out of the world.
3) She believes and follows in faith without seeing Isaac first, representing the Christian's faith in an unseen God.
4) She accepts the proposal brought to her by Abraham's servant, representing Christians accepting the offer of salvation brought by the Holy Spirit.
5) The gifts given to her fore
The document argues that the overturning of Roe v. Wade highlights the need to abstain from premarital sex or "fornication" as commanded in the Bible. It provides several biblical passages from Acts, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, and Revelation that prohibit fornication and command believers to abstain from it. The document claims abstaining from fornication, rather than defending abortion rights, should be the focus for Christians in light of the new ruling.
This document discusses how one can prove their love for God through desire, obedience, and commitment. It examines several Bible passages to support this. Specifically, it argues that love for God is shown through: 1) Craving His word and hiding it in one's heart to avoid sin; 2) Compliance with His commands, as Jesus complied with the Father's command to lay down His life; and 3) Commitment to watch, pray, and follow God's word at all times, as Jesus was committed to the Father's commandment. The document concludes by summarizing that love for God is proven through desire for His word, demonstration of obedience to His commands, and determined commitment to follow His word.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

The pervasiveness of Lying in today's World.pptxniwres
In our interconnected world, lies weave through the fabric of society like hidden threads. We encounter them in politics, media, personal relationships, and even within ourselves. The prevalence of deception raises profound questions about truth, trust, and the human condition.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
Tales of This and Another Life - Chapters.pdfMashaL38
This book is one of the best of the translated ones, for it has a warning character for all those who find themselves in the experience of material life. Irmão X provides a shrewd way of describing the subtleties and weaknesses that can jeopardize our intentions, making us more attentive and vigilant by providing us with his wise pages, reminding us between the lines of the Master's words: "Pray and watch."
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.

Mal 4
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great
and dreadful day of the LORD:
Gabriel Announces John's Birth (Lk 1:5-25)
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest
named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters
of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both righteous
before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord
blameless. 7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and
they both were now well stricken in years. 8 And it came to pass, that
while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,
2. 9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense
when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10 And the whole multitude
of the people were praying without at the time of incense. 11 And there
appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the
altar of incense. 12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and
fear fell upon him. 13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for
thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou
shalt call his name John. 14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and
many shall rejoice at his birth. 15 For he shall be great in the sight of the
Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled
with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. 16 And many of the
children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17 And he shall go
before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers
to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make
ready a people prepared for the Lord. 18 And Zacharias said unto the
angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well
stricken in years. 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel,
that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to
shew thee these glad tidings.
24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five
months, saying, 25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein
he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

3. Gabriel Announces to Mary (Lk 1:26-38).
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city
of Galilee, named Nazareth(120 miles from Jerusalem- 5 day journey)
, 27 To a virgin
espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and
the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said,
Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou
among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying,
and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the
angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son,
and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the
Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his
father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and
of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel,
How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered
and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of
the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which
shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy
cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is
the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing
shall be impossible. 38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be
it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Mary's Visits Elizabeth (Lk 1:39-56).
39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with
haste, into a city of Juda; 40 And entered into the house of Zacharias,
and saluted Elisabeth. 41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard
the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was
filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and
said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to
me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears,
the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 And blessed is she that believed:
for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from
the Lord. 46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my
spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48 For he hath regarded the low
4. estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations
shall call me blessed. 49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great
things; and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is on them that fear him
from generation to generation. 51 He hath shewed strength with his arm;
he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath
put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53
He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent
empty away. 54 He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his
mercy; 55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for
ever. 56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her
own house.
An Angel Comes to Joseph (Mat 1:18-25).
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother
Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found
with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just
man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put
her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the
angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son
of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their
sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child,
and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which
being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep
did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he
called his name JESUS.

The Decree of Caesar Augustus and the Birth of Christ (Lk
2:1-7).
5. Luke 2
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from
Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was
first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)3 And all went to be
taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from
Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of
David, which is called Bethlehem; 4.4 miles from Jerusalem
(because he was
of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his
espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they
were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling
clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in
the inn.
Matt 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there
came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Matt 2
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth,
and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and
under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.

The First Visitors - Shepherds (Lk 2:8-20).
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord
came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and
they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for,
behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is
Christ the Lord.
Bethlehem (Beth-lehem) The city of David
Meaning: house of bread
A city in the “hill country” of Judah
6. It was originallycalled Ephrath (Genesis 35:16, 19; 48:7; Ruth 4:11).Itwas
alsocalledBeth-lehem Ephratah (Micah 5:2),Beth-lehem-judah(1 Sam. 17:12),and
“the city of David”(Luke 2:4).
It isfirstnoticedinScripture as the place where Rachel diedandwasburied“by the wayside,”
directlytothe north of the city (Genesis 48:7).The valleytothe eastwas the scene of the story
of Ruth the Moabitess. There are the fieldsinwhichshe gleaned, andthe path by which
she and Naomi returnedto the town. Here was David’s birthplace, andhere also, inafter
years,he was anointed as king by Samuel (1 Sam. 16:4-13);anditwas from
the well of Bethlehemthatthree of his mightymen broughtwaterforhimat the riskof theirlives
whenhe wasin the cave of Adullam 13 miles west of Bethlehem
(2 Sam. 23:13-17).
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in
swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with
the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into
heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto
Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the
Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found
Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had
seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them
concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those
things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these
things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen,
as it was told unto them.

The Second Visitors - Magi (Mat 2:1-12).
7. Magi is connected with Babylonian names (Jer. 39:13, 29:13, Isa.
29:13) The direction the move to find Jesus is east to west.
God drove Adam and Eve out (Gen. 3:24)
When Cain left God’s presence, he went west to east
(Gen4:16)
When Jacob backslid and ran from Esau, he went west to
east (Gen. 28:10)
The first tribes to go into captivity settled East of Jordan
(Num. 32)
When David ran for his life from Absalom, he went Eastward
(2Sam. 16-18)
West to East is the direction of the rotation of the world
against the sun; it is the direction one would take leaving
the Most Holy Place going out of the Tabernacle (Ex. 27:13)
When God called Abraham to the land he called him West
(Gen. 12:1-6)
When Jacob got right and came home, he traveled
Westward (Gen. 32-35)
When the Jews entered Palestine, God made them traverse
the Dead Sea so they could come in East to West (Num. 19-
25)
When the Jews returned from captivity, they travedled
Westward (Ezra-Nehemiah)
God forbade the gospel to go Easward, but made it go
Westward to Europe (Acts 16:6-10)
The sun moves East to West; a type of Jesus moving in
opposition to the world (Mal. 4:2, 1John 2:15)
Matt 2
1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod
the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his
star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3 When Herod the king had
8. heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And
when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people
together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 5 And they
said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the
prophet, 6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least
among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that
shall rule my people Israel. 7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the
wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. 8 And
he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the
young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I
may come and worship him also. 9 When they had heard the king, they
departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them,
till it came and stood over where the young child was. 10 When they saw
the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 11 And when they were
come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother,
and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their
treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and
myrrh. 12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return
to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
4. Jesus in Jerusalem
Jesus is Circumcised in the Temple in Jerusalem and
Presented before the LORD in the Temple (Lk 2:21-38).
21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the
child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before
he was conceived in the womb. 22 And when the days of her purification
according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to
Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; 23 (As it is written in the law of the
Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the
Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons [Lev. 12:8 The normal
offering was a lamb and a turtledove/or a lamb and pigeon –Lev.12:6;5:7, but
Mary was too poor to offer such- evidently thewise men had not arrived yet.
She had to offer the sacrificefor her purification becauseshe like any Jewish
mother, was unclean after giving birth-Lev.12:2]. 25 And, behold, there was a
9. man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just
and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was
upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he
should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27 And he
came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the
child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, 28 Then took he him
up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, 29 Lord, now lettest thou thy
servant depart in peace, according to thy word: 30 For mine eyes have
seen thy salvation, 31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all
people; 32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people
Israel. 33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were
spoken of him. 34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his
mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in
Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; 35 (Yea, a sword shall
pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may
be revealed. 36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of
Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with
an husband seven years from her virginity; 37 And she was a widow of
about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but
served God with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And she coming in
that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all
them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
5. Egypt
Out of Egypt
Amos 9:7 Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of
Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I broughtup Israel out of the land of
Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
Mic 7:15-16 15 Accordingto the days of thy coming out of the land of
Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things. 16 The nations shall see and
be confoundedat all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their
mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
Out of Egypt (Mat 2:13-23).
10. 13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth
to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his
mother(Jesus mentioned first then mother)
, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there
until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and
departed into Egypt: 15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Out of Egypt have I called my son.
Hos 11
1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and calledmy son out of
Egypt.
1. Historically, Hosea is referring to a past event
2. Doctrinally, he is referring to a futureevent.
3. Inspirationally, we have a teaching on the love of
God.
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was
exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in
Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under,
according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. 17
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,
18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great
mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted,
because they are not. 19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of
the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 Saying, Arise, and
take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for
they are dead which sought the young child's life. 21 And he arose, and
took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
Where did they go in Egypt?
Gen 47
6 The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father
and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou
knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my
cattle.
11. Gen 47
11 And Joseph placedhis father and his brethren, and gave them a
possession in the landof Egypt, in the best of the land, in the landof
Rameses, as Pharaoh hadcommanded.
Exod 1

Jesus' Early Years in Jerusalem
The Boy Jesus at the Temple (Lk 2:41-52).
41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the
passover. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to
Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43 And when they had fulfilled the
days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and
Joseph and his mother knew not of it. 44 But they, supposing him to have
been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among
their kinsfolk and acquaintance. 45 And when they found him not, they
turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. 46 And it came to pass, that
after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the
14. doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 And all that
heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. 48 And
when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him,
Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have
sought thee sorrowing. 49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought
me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? 50 And they
understood not the saying which he spake unto them. 51 And he went
down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but
his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in
wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
