About Myself
At a tender age I learned the significance of hard working, strong work ethics,
determination, diligence, organization and team work. Growing up in a society where
everyone is a farmer and where physical labor implicates, helped my abilities and
willingness to possess a positive attitude in working on adverse conditions.
The passion for hospitality started long back ago(2004) while working as backer’s
man. While working I realized that cooking is something I wanted to pursue. I went
to a technical college to study hospitality operations
After completing to study the fundamentals of hospitality, I had aspiration to know
more in the managerial issues, then final I went back to school for my
BA(Hon)international hospitality management at university of derby.

Customer Service
Leadership skills
Leadership has been defined as the ability to direct,
motivate and guide other people to support your
decision and vision while make their own (Hai-yan
& Baum,2006). During the course of my study I
become a member of student representatives.
I was focusing on the development of sports in the
university. Leading people taught me that as a leader
my actions should inspire others, do more and
become more. The period I was in the committee
helped me to develop my leadership skills and learn
more about leadership styles. I managed to lead
groups of different sports codes and organized
several events.
Team work
Team working is a vital aspect that a graduate should possess.
Team work is very crucial and very essential for business.
According to Fetsch & Bradley(2008) ,team work refers to
working with others to achieve a collective goal using their
distinct skills and providing productive response notwithstanding
any conflicts may exist among individuals.
I have been focusing on developing essential skills for teamwork;
Participating ,listening, persuading,questiong,sharing and helping
others when working as a group. I attended several team building
exercises in order to develop my teamwork capabilities.
Problem Solving
Problem solving is the ability to tackle or solve a variety of
difficulties(Hai-yan & Baum,2006). This a very distinctive
characteristic of the hospitality management graduate.
From the first class at the university I was introduced to
systematically problem solving skills training.
I have learnt how to apply various approaches and strategies
in order to have a better understanding of complications and
how to classify the concrete steps to implement a solution.
This is one valuable skill, and one that hospitality
management graduate should be more aware of.
Communication Skills
 Communication is simply the action or process of transferring
information from one person to another or one place to
another (Hai-yan & Baum,2006).
 It involves be vocally(using voice) or written (emails/digital
medias).
 Being able to communicate effectively is the best life skill an
induvial should have. I demonstrated numerous good
communications skills throughout the course of my study
being verbal or non verbal. Throughout the course of study I
came to realize to have developed my personal and
interpersonal communication skills. Communicate effectively
with other colleagues and hospitality professional
 At attachment I demonstrated good
communication skills with international
guests and other employees. I have a good
listening skill which also helps me to
receive instructions appropriately and
enables me to perform well.
Confidence Building
Having confidence is an essential attribute or life skill
an individual should have. For the past years I worked
tremendously on building my confidence.
Numerous presentations I carried out during the
course of my study played major role on my
confidence building. I believe on myself and on what
ever I do and I'm that person who is willing to take
risks and work hard to attain better changes. I learnt
that confidence building is more about admitting my
mistakes and learn more from them.
Networking
Networking according to Brilliant Networking (2008) is
building a mutually understanding with others and
developing beneficial relationship with them.
 My participation at the Francistown marathon as a
Marshall volunteer played a significant role on my
networking skills.
 Went to Khama Rhino Sanctuary in a school trip, I have
opportunity to networking with employees from different
departments.
 During school vacations I visits hotel establishments and
meet with managers in different departments discussing
various contemporary issues affecting our industry.
Time refers to the ability to do tasks effectively ,well in advance
and efficiently(Fetsch & Bradley,2008)
 I personally able to manage time by following my time table
and using of dairy and calendars to reflect on my schedule
and achieve all set goals.
 I'm able to divide and balance my time in weekly activities(
friends, school work and family).
 Managed to submit all my school work well in advance. I
worked hard to always be early to lessons, finally I managed
to execute tasks I was assigned during internship.
Time management
Self Awareness
I'm very humbled person who always respect other people’s opinions. I'm
honesty and always listen to others attentively. The outcomes towards my
self awareness is that I gained respect others and people I worked with
during attachment.
According to Moh-Shamsudin & Chuttipattana(2012) self awareness is the ability for an individuals to
recognize their strengths and weakness. Able to identify my strengths and weakness helps me to react,
network and building a good reputation with others.
Community Based Activity
Responsibility that an individual or organization
plays in order to give back to the community they
operate or live. The concept has been related to
business by many authors as corporate social
responsibility. We(hospitality students)donated
clothes and bought stationary for a needy student in
Gerald Estate.
Ever since childhood I took part in every
sports development in every community
I lived. Playing for local team as a way of
giving back to the community.
Work Experience
This is an experience an individual gains while at
work, performing a specific task in a specific field.
This experience enhances my knowledge and
understanding the hospitality field.
 2006 -2007 Bakers Man
 2008-2010 Chef, housekeeper, waiter and front
office
 2010-2013 Freelancer in tour guiding
