This study examined gender differences in prevalence of "drunkorexia" behaviors and associations with eating disturbances in a sample of 606 college students (78% women). Drunkorexia refers to compensatory behaviors like purging or restricting calories to offset alcohol consumption. The study found that approximately 55.5% of participants reported at least one drunkorexia behavior in the past 3 months. Women reported higher restriction scores than men, but there were no other gender differences in compensatory behaviors. Scores on the Compensatory Eating and Behaviors in Response to Alcohol Consumption Scale (CEBRACS) were positively correlated with eating disorder symptoms for both men and women, but not associated with drive for thinness in men
