Israeli drones are about to take
over the world's skies
DRONES
The word ‘drone’ can conjure
up a host of different
emotions and mainly to the
uninitiated, a somewhat
unwarranted sense of fear.
Most of us have seen
pictures in the media of
military drones used to spy
and inflict damage on
targets and humans. But
drones are much more than
just tools for military use.
ISRAELI DRONES
Israel has extensive experience with drones, having used
them for decades in an ISR capacity. Israel has taken
huge capital, technology- intensive routes to the
drone development. The Israeli technology and
production is pushing the global drone “race” forward.
DRONES DESIGNED TO
TRANSPORT INJURED SOLDIERS:
Drones are designed to transport injured soldiers from war
zones where helicopters cannot fly or access. They have
the capacity to take off and land approximately up to
1400 pounds of cargo and freight and fasten with a zip
through air.
MILITARY DRONES:
According to Stockholm International Peace Research
Institute (Sipri), in terms of military drones such as
AirMule, Israel is the largest exporter in the world and
it ship over 61% worldwide volumes.
DRONES THAT DELIVER
The delivery drones are utilized to transport
packages, food and other goods.
They are widely used to transport medicines, food
and health care to affected areas in case of floods
and tsunami etc. The cost is directly proportional to
the distance covered. The shorter distance requires
less cost, vice versa.
FLYTREX
It is a highly innovative commercial drone which is
featured with a loading bay for small items and
goods such as light packages. More importantly it
has 3-G connectivity.
DRONES THAT CAN SEE
Miracles of technology have brought vast innovations
in the drones industry. Now, the drones are
designed and equipped with computer vision and
perform tasks automatically.
DRONOMY DRONE
Dronomy develops ‘brain and eyes’
for the drones. With those, the
drones can fly autonomously past
different obstacles like trees,
power lines and houses. In other
words, it is bringing similar
obstacle detection and avoidance
capabilities to drones. It is backed
by executives from Skype, offers
an operating system which works
as a drone eyes.
PERCEPTO
Israeli startup Percepto is developing under an advanced technology
and applications which are based on computer vision and enables the
drones to perform complex and complicated tasks completely
independently. It works without an operator and made up of flexible
modules which enables automated operations. It consists of flight
applications, which helps it in
avoiding complications and
obstacles, detecting the
location, measuring the
distance and precise
delivery of payload.
OTHER ISRAELI STARTUPS
There are other Israeli startups such as AiRobotics and
Parazero which are operating under the system of radar,
that detect the presence, direction and speed of aircraft,
ships and other objects by sending out pluses of radio
waves and land safely under any circumstances.
LEARNING FROM THIS ARTCAL/
CLASS DISCUSSIONS
As we have studied and discussed the product life cycle in
chapter “ Design of Goods and Services”, according to that
these latest and innovative drones falls into the category of
Introductory stage
process enhancement and modifications
supplier development
product development stage
modules
flexibility
assembly chart
it seems that technology will tend to bring about new
features in drones designs and innovation.
CONCLUSION
With so many drone innovations in the world, it’s
tough to know what will happen next. There are new
questions and concerns rising regarding safety,
security and privacy. Unfortunately, at present time
the misuse of drones on defense level across the
globe is a big issue and technology must be used to
make the drones for safer use and effective than the
operators in order to convert such exploits in the
positive use of technology.
THANK YOU!
