Artist Love Life
Due: Monday, March 8
Create an artist page about your artist’s love life.
Using a portion of an art work by your famous artist, create a journal page
about his/her love life based on your research for our artist network. You can
use no more than 1/3 of the actual artwork.
Create a background to go with your portion of the artwork and include something to symbolize the love
life of your artist. I don’t want any more photos or computer printed images on the page. Ideas?: Think
about how to show a long, enduring relationship with line or color. For my example, I used a background
like Picasso and added eight silhouetted figures in the background to represent the women in his life. I
made them in shadow because Picasso was the most important thing to Picasso.
Verbal: Add some text about your artist. Put it in your words. What do you think is most important to
your artist as far as love is concerned? For Picasso, I realized that Pablo loved himself more than the
women in his life. I even included a quote by a former lover. Be reflective in your verbal component to
this assignment. You should know enough about your artist.
Material Suggestions: oil pastels, watercolor, charcoal, India ink, acrylic paint. NO CRAYONS OR
COLORED PENCILS!!!
