2. Headline/Title Analysis
The Headline “Something Old, Something
New”, located in the top right hand
corner juxtaposes Daniel Craig (Bond)
and the classic Aston Martin Car. It is in a
simple big, bold font in order to stand out
to the audience. This also hints to the
audience what to expect out of the film
by the use of the quote “Something Old,
Something New”.
“Something Old” refers to the old 1965
Aston Martin which is an iconic car in the
James Bond films.
“Something New” refers to the new film
being advertised here.
The Black Banner behind the film name
‘Skyfall’ helps the text stand out to the
audience to make up for the fact that it is
in the top right hand corner of the page.

3. Editorial content: is set in columns as this is
the most conventional format for film
reviews to be displayed in. Also helps
organize the text for the audience to better
read/understanding.
The three Gutters here are used to
separate the columned texts for the
audience so they can read it more
clearly.
The introductory paragraph here is in bold
and large font in order to stand out to the
audience. Furthermore this also
complements what is said in the paragraph
as they are trying to promote the film and
saying that it will be better than the
previous one ‘Quantum of Solace’ which
was criticised.
We are informed here on the
name of the writer ‘Jane
Crowther’.
The text is set in a very formal
mode of address which
demonstrates it professionalism
and also is set out in a story telling
format which keep the audience
engaged whilst reading it.

4. Large image suggest to the audience that he is the main
character/hero if the Bond film and also because he is
considerably large in comparison to the text, this displays the
fact that the producer wants us to focus mainly on him.
The use of the dark colour scheme of his suit in
comparison to the more brighter colors of the
background country side not only show off his classic
look, but also makes him stand out to the audience.
He stands in a very superior way showing to the
audience that he is ready for his mission at hand
and also perhaps that he is ready to prove all the
critiques of his last film wrong and show that he
can fit into the role of being the new James Bond.
Daniel Craig's Mise-en-Scene here of costume,
matches the classic Bond look as he in a very
expensive, smart looking suit matching with the
look of his car, which is well pressed juxtaposing
with how we expect him to look after all action he
becomes involved in during his missions.
His facial expression is calm and collected
matching his personality and also showing to the
audience he is ready for what is ahead.
