Doraemon
Doraemon, a manga serialized on magazines, is written by Fujiko Fujio, a team of two Japanese
mangaka (maga artists) since 1969. They are Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko. However, they
ended their partnership since 1987. Mr. Fujimoto continued to write Doraemon and used the pen
name, Fujiko F. Fujio. He died in 1996 and Doraemon is left unfinished. The manga was made into
animes and movies and becomes one of the most marketed cartoon in Japan. It has been sold for
more than 1 million copies. There is a museum for Fujiko F. Fujio in Kawasaki.

Friendship
Nobita always creates trouble to Doraemon. He is very dependent on Doraemon and sometimes
neglects Doraemon's feeling. However, Doraemon still stays with him and keeps helping him.
Nobita also will be worried about Doraemon's sickness. They share the moment of happiness and
sadness. Readers love their friendship and even create an optimistic ending for them (As mentioned
before, the manga is left unfinished). The ending is that Doraemon's power runs out. Nobita starts to
work hard and become a robotics technician. Finally, he retrieves Doraemon's life. Their friendship

When I began this assignment, I knew I wanted to try out a culture I know practically nothing about.
I love Chinese and Japanese food, so I decided to turn in the direction of sitting at a restaurant with
Chinese/Asian cuisine. This was a simple sit–down dinner that did not occur on any special day like
holidays. The setting that I chose was a Cantonese restaurant located in Elmwood Park called "New

I have people in my family that have many negative perceptions about the asian culture. For
example, I have a family member that refuses to eat Chinese food out of fear of eating dog meat.
This is very irrational, and I do not have perceptions like these. In my own culture, we eat mostly
with our without hands. I have had a server bring me a washcloth to wash my hands before I start
eating to prevent bacterial contamination. I still noticed the integrity within this culture and my own.
I have met some amazing servers, and this one was no exception. I think the foods are very different,
but they do not mean one culture is better than the other. I do have the option to display my own
ethnicity in some situations because it can be uncomfortable to expose my differences in certain
environments. It can be because of danger or fear of being out of my comfort zone. I think my
ethnicity is not as strongly expressed as the one I observed because my culture is much more
minimal. We are not into attention to detail, or large displays of culture. I feel that it is more likely to
move away from expressing these aspects of our social identity because in modern day, people are
targeted for their differences. I think this is influenced by leaders in power that generate a reason for
hate among all those that are not Caucasian. By this, I mean president Donald Trump and his
