Bingo Time! – 5 minutes Yup, you’re getting up and moving around   Introduce yourself if you don’t know someone IF Yes, have person initial square Each square must be a different person “I think so…” == Yes Yell “BINGO!” For serious, there are 2 *prizes*
 
So wait, what did we just do? Social networking, just IRL (In Real Life) Tagging, kinda (Probably) met some people we didn’t know Some people won some nifty prizes! It was beta, for me at least

You know  what … now  how ? Start with a goal, plan to get there Small , action-directed committee  (could just be you, but +1 minimum is nice) What do you have? What you want to have? What’s the best tool/site/service to use? Can you implement & sustain it? Plans are your friends They conserve time, money and resources.

#1 tip for ultimate beta comfort HAVE A PLAN.  PLANS ARE GOOD.
Plan: Sample Simple Timeline Configure settings Play with a sandbox version, tweak Develop process & policies Build Patron & staff interviews/focus groups/survey Which tools fit our goal?  Who’s using it? What is the culture? Are other libraries doing it?  How?  Is it working? Where will you use it? Internally or publicly?  Assess Form small “committee” Goal setting/planning meeting Who are your process staff? Include Tech! Timeline Planning

Tweak as necessary Track/ Reassess Newsletter, newspaper article, handouts, word-of-mouth, bookmarks, classes, tutorials Educate public on new feature, as necessary Launch/ Promote Process & policies How to use the tool/site/service Train
