DON’T BE A LOSER!
Before the age of 18, I already had 4 standing ovations. Thousands of people were up on their feet, showering me with applause because I had achieved eminence.
I’m not saying this to brag! I’m no better than anyone else. In fact, you were probably a better student than I was, because I dropped out of school not once, but TWICE!
You were probably better with girls than I was, since I had NO CLUE on how to date a girl during my high school years. In fact, I had to ask a friend to “coach” me on dating Do’s and Don’ts!
However, I did achieve success in many fields: I won two literary awards, I won a tennis competition (Men’s Double, Montreal Open), I was Valedictorian twice (elementary school and high school) and I became a top calligraphy artist, serving clients such as La Senza and Michel Lemieux (the artistic director of the Cirque du Soleil show Delerium ).
Throughout 2006, I’ve written over 500 postings on my blog Real-time Success Secrets , dedicated to sharing with people, for FREE, all my success secrets as well as success secrets of amazing, admirable and highly successful men and women. This presentation is called “Don’t be a loser” because it is possible that you are one.
Don’t take it personally, I don’t mean to offend anyone.
However, it is possible to determine, rationally and without any emotion, WHETHER you are a loser or a winner.
In fact, it’s not black or white. Rather, there is a winner-loser spectrum.
At one end, you have supreme winners , and at the other end, you have hopeless losers .
The important thing is to know exactly WHERE you are, on the Winner-Loser spectrum, so you can make sure you progress TOWARD the supreme winner position.
The first thing to realize is that most people are not winners. They are not successful. This is not MY judgment, this is their own admission in study after study!
Indeed, only one person out of 20 will ever achieve financial independence.
Why? It’s because most people don’t play in order to win. They play in order NOT to lose.
To win, you have to dare. You have to take risks. And most people have a negative perception of risk. They avoid risk.
Yet, risk doesn’t mean “danger” or “loss.” It comes from the Italian word riscare , meaning “to dare.”
Most people do not dare in life. They seek comfort and security, and will do everything to stay within the herd, where it’s warm and comforting.
People who stay in the herd, never do anything special.
This is why Jodie Foster, the highly successful actress and director, always had the philosophy of shunning normality.
To be a winner, you’ve got to be your own true person. You’ve got to ignore other people’s opinions.
When people tell you that you can’t do something, that’s only because THEY can’t do it!
Many people told me I couldn’t do things I wanted to do. I just ignored them, and went ahead and did it!
It’s not that people are malicious. They just don’t know how winners think. If you hang around with losers, you WILL adopt losers’ way of thinking.
I recommend the best-selling book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, by T. Harv Eker. It is packed with examples of loser thinking vs winner thinking.
Okay, what are signs that a person is a loser? Wait, are you SURE you want to know?
This is a last warning: if you do not want the truth about yourself, you should stop reading and go to the Walt Disney site or something.
The following is NOT for the faint of heart. It is intended for a mature audience, that is, for people who REALLY want to become winners.
Okay, here are the things that losers do: watch TV (more than one hour per day) shop too much spend too much read fiction hang around with losers
Stay tuned for more. (Look for slideshows with “Don’t be a loser” on the first page)
