TITLE OF PROPOSED WORK
“BIOLOGICAL STUDY OF METAL
COMPLEXES DERIVED FROM
MERCAPTO TRIAZOLE SCHIFF BASES”
Research Problem with
Significance :-
 The mercapto triazole Schiff base contains O, N and S electron
donor atoms so, they from five or six member chelate ring with
metal ion.
 Chelation can causes drastic change in biological behavior both
metal and ligand. This stimulated us to work on synthesis of
biologically active metal complexes containing active groups.
 Two biological active nitrogen and sulphur containing moieties
like 1,2,4-triazole and Schiff base( Azomethine group) present
together. Meracpto triazole ligands having biological, analytical
and industrial applications of their complexes make further
investigations in this area is highly desirable.
Objectives :-
 To synthesize chelating ligands derived from mercapto
triazol schiff bases and their metal complexes.
 To characterize the synthesized compounds by
spectral analysis (UV-Visible, IR, 1
HNMR, XRD etc.),
thermal analysis and magnetic moment measurement.
 To evaluate the antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer,
antioxidant, DNA cleavage, antipyretic anti-
inflammatory etc, activities.
 .
Outline of Proposed Work:-
 1.First year:-
 a) Ist
six months : Detail referencing work related research area.
 b) IInd
six months : Synthesis of ligands by using best suitable
reported or new methods.
 2. Second year:-
 a) Ist
six months : Synthesis of metal complexes by routine and new
methods.
 b) IInd
six months : Characterization of synthesized compounds with
available resources.

 3. Third year:-
 a) Ist
six months : To study biological and pharmacological activities and
publications of research work
 b) IInd
six months : Writing of research report for submission of
Ph.D. thesis
Goal set for semester :-
 We planned to synthesize the metal complex derived
from sulphur containing Schiff ligands by using
reported methods
Goals achieved during the
semester:
We planned to synthesize the metal complex
and characterized four different sulphur
containing ligands (Schiff bases) by the
reported methods. But we unable synthesize
desire metal complex form these synthesized
ligands
Significant Contribution :-
 I have actively participated a poster in the national
“EMERGING TRENDS IN CHEMICAL AND MATERIAL
SCIENCE” at C.B. Khedgi basaveshwar science college at
Akkokalkot held on 24th
& 25th
feb.2025
 I have actively participated a poster in the national
“RECENT DEVELOPMENT IN PHARMACEUTICAL
SCIENCE” at D.B.F. Dayanad college of arts and science,
Solapur held on 14th Feb. 2025
 I have actively participate in Workshop “PREPARATION
OF HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS” at Punyasholk Ahilyadevi
Holkar Solapur University, Solapur at 10th
Feb. 2025
Plan For next Semester :-
 As we planned to synthesize the metal complex
derived from sulpher containing Schiff ligand by
using reported method goal set for last semester not
achieved so we will again to try synthesis of sulphur
containing ligands and their metal complex.
