I. OBJECTIVES
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Objectives must bemet over the week and connected to thecurriculum standards. To meettheobjectives, necessary procedures mustbefollowed and ifneeded, additional lessons, exercises
and remedialactivities may bedonefor developing contentknowledgeand competencies. Theseareassessed using Formative Assessmentstrategies. Valuing objectives supportthelearning of
content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall b e derived from the curriculum guides.

IV. PROCEDURES These steps shouldbe doneacross theweek. Spreadouttheactivities appropriately sothat students willlearn well. Always beguidedby demonstration oflearning by the students which you
can infer from formativeassessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question their learni ng
processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indica te the time allotment for each step.
A. Reviewing previouslesson or
presenting the new lesson
Simple Recall of the Activities
done yesterday
Review on the Steps in the
Scientific Method through a
short quiz (Arrange the steps in
chronological order)
Review on the Variables in an
Investigation through a short
quiz (Situational Multiple
Choice Items)
B. Establishing apurpose for the lesson Pose simple real-life situations
which make use of problem-
solving skills
State the objectives for today’s
lesson by letting them know
what things in a set-up or
project can or cannot be
changed
Based on the task that was
given yesterday on researching
simple topics which require
problem-solving, ask them
thought-provoking questions
C. Presenting examples/instancesfor
the new lesson
Let them solve these simple
real-life situations examples on
their own.
Let them value the importance
of following the steps in a
Scientific Method in solving
real-life situations
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
D. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills#1
Investigation is the heart of
science. It is the way scientists
do research. Scientific
investigation is a way to find
answers to a question that
will produce evidence that help
answer questions and solve
problems.
Variable is a characteristic,
number or quantity that is being
manipulated or changed during
a scientific investigation when
performed under specific or
varying situations.
Answer the activity: Guess the
step in Scientific Method
E. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills#2
Basic Steps of Scientific Method
1. Make Observations
2. Come up with a question
3. Develop a hypothesis
4. Conduct an experiment or test
the hypothesis
5. Record and analyze the
results
6. Draw conclusions
The variable that is being
manipulated or controlled is
called independent variable.
The dependent variable changes
because of a test. It is the effect
that arises from the changes in
the independent variable
Complete the activity: WHAT
TO DO?
 -The learners will be given a
scientific problemon what can
they put on an apple slice to
keep it from turning brown.
 -They will solve the problem
following the steps in a
Scientific Method.
F. Developing mastery
(Leadsto Formative Assessment 3)
Answer the activity: ONE STEP
AT A TIME
 The learners will fill out
Answer the activity: QUICK
CHECK!
 The learners will begiven a
Answer the activity: LET’S
SOLVE IN A SCIENTIFIC WAY
 The learners will read the

situation wherein follow-
up questions such as What
is the Independent
Variable in the story will
be asked?
 A table showing data will
be presented in a story for
learners to easily analyze
the story.
situation below and apply
the steps of scientific
method in solving the
given problem.
 They will sequence the
process by writing
numbers 1 for 1st step up
to 6 for the 6th inside the
box.
G. Finding practical applicationsof
conceptsand skillsin daily living
Answer the activity: GUESS
WHAT!
 In this activity, there will
be situations that will be
given to the learners
wherein they will make an
educated guess or
hypothesis.
Answer the activity: PHOTO
ANALYSIS
 The learners will be
given situation
presented through
simple illustrations.
 They will identify
whether the object
involved in the set-up is
a Dependent or
Independent Variable.
Accomplish the activity: MY
SCIENTIST SELF
 The learners will design or
create a simple
investigation at their
homes, with the use of a
graphic organizer.
 An example will be given
for them to be more
guided on what they will
do.
H. Making generalizationsand
abstractionsabout the lesson
 In general, the scientific
method is a systematic
process that involves
measurable observations
to formulate, test or
modify and prove a
hypothesis.
 Identifying and controlling
variables involve the
process of deciding which
variables or factors will
influence the outcome of an
experiment, situation or
event and deliberately
control all recognized
variables in a systematic
manner.
 In investigating how things
worked out and the reason
why they do so, scientific
method is the solution that
serves as guide to us in
answering. It acts like our
compass that led us to the
answers.
I. Evaluating learning  The learners will be given a
short quiz through a
Multiple Choice.
The learners will be given a
short quiz through a Multiple
Choice.
 The learners will be given a
Self-Reflection form that
they will fill out based on
what they have learned
from their own scientific
investigation.

who scored below 80%.
C. Did the remedial lessonswork? No.
