Russian Economic Overview
Economic Overview: Although Russia is one of the BRICs countries; it is showing some
weakness over the last years with the Euro crisis. The country suffered with economic problems
that made its economy to slow the foreign demand. With the weaker foreign demand and the
domestic fiscal consolidation made the output growth reduced to 3.4% in 2012. The weakness
extended to 2013, with first quarter real GDP falling 1.1% from the previous period, reducing 12
month growth to 1.1%, the lowest rate since 2009. In this scenario, the investment in opening a
BFSI in Russia would bring really bad results in terms of profits. In addition, the inflationin Russia
rose up to 7.2% in April 2013. The final reason why Russia is going to provide a bad economic
perspective to our company is direct related with the crisis in Ukraine. With this crisis, Russia
would suffer a major recession and is being strongly affected due to its high dependence on energy
supplies via Ukraine .
Conclusion: Due to the political uncertainty combined with the weak economy that Russia is
presenting for a forging investors, we conclude that better options of the BRIC s countries would be
suggested to BFSI invest its money instead investing in the Russia market.

Political overview for forging companies: Since the adoption of a bilateral government and the

The Criminal Justice System Is The Law Of The Land
The criminal justice system as a whole can be looked at in numerous ways depending on the sub
category you want to approach, whether it be the federal law, law enforcement or correctional
programs. In most eyes, the federal law is the law of the land and by that it provides a stable
community of rules that everyone must follow with efficiency while providing public safety. With
that comes the enforcement of the law, the most common being police. In essence majority of the
united stateslooks at the police in a positive light as they are providing support to the community,
controlling crimeand making the areas we live at safer on a daily basis. Finally you have the

After a brief introduction, James Comey states the FBI was looking into whether classified
information was improperly stored or transmitted on [Clinton s] personal system in violation of
the Federal statute that makes it a felony to mishandle classified information either intentionally
or in a grossly negligent way; or a second statute making it a misdemeanor to knowingly remove
classified information from appropriate systems or storage facilities. (Huffington Post ). With
this, Hilary Clinton has broken three federal laws including the mishandling of classified
information, the violation of the 2009 federal records act and the violation of the freedom of
information act (FOIA). Executive Order 13526 and 18 U.S.C Sec. 793(f) of the federal code
make it unlawful to send of store classified information on personal email. Casey Harper at The
Daily Caller delved into this angle: By using a private email system, Secretary Clinton violated the
Federal Records Act and the State Department s Foreign Affairs Manual regarding records
management, and worse, could have left classified and top secret documents vulnerable to cyber
attack. This is just one example, where a politician has broken multiple laws however at the end

Totalitarianism In The Handmaids Tale
Dystopian texts explore unfavorable future societies of the authors worst fears, a parallel
understanding of an apparent contemporary concept, constructing an unfamiliar perspective that is
conceivable and relatable. The realization that the prospect of a dystopian future is built upon the
contingent impact from the present, a fabrication of actions and inactions from collective
judgments of society. This idea of a contingent impact is reflected to a significant extent in the
dystopian text, Handmaids Tale, written by Margaret Atwood in 1985. The novel entails adventures
from the perspective of protagonist Offred, a handmaid in a fragmented society run by misogynistic
and theocratic totalitarian government. It explores a reality in which a familiar concept of
autonomy, sexual prejudice and oppression in the present is metamorphosed into a domineering
structural pillar in dystopian world. For these reasons, Atwood challenges the reader with an
imaginative creation of the future with a contingent dependence on the present, exemplifying these
matters and intensifying the potential future under the reign of a totalitarian society. The
conspicuous and problematic concern, which identifies the contingent impacts of the present in the
future, is conveyed through diverse notions of autonomy. In modern society, the concept of
freedom and independence is advocated, conversely the ideal of... Show more content on

To a significant but varying extent it can be stated that the striking aspect is the contingency of
present on the future as Atwood provides a further compelling glimpse into a distant future that still

The Harvard Management Company and Inflation Protected Bonds 1(a) Regular Treasury bonds
are purchased at face value in the beginning or an adjusted price prior maturity. And in every
period, normally annul or semiannual, investor will receive a coupon as an interest and at the

same amount of coupon and principal with less real value and purchasing power. (c)TIPS are

3 We can make a hedge portfolio by taking a long position in the inflation indexed TIPS and a
short position in the regular bond with the same duration. We know that there are two variables
affecting the bonds real interest rate and actual inflation rate. When nominal interest rate
changes, long and short positions of bonds in portfolio offset each other. When inflation rate
changes, TIPS would change its price and leave regular bond in short position exposed to
inflation risk. 4(a) Harvard s Policy Portfolio is a portfolio within a group of asset classes
including different instruments. It can be used as a benchmark to evaluate the performance of
investment strategies. (b) To determine Policy Portfolio by using mean variance analysis.
Given a variable number of expected portfolio return, we would choose our strategy from a set
of minimum variance portfolio basing on our tolerance for risk. (c) Because one of HMS s goal
is to preserving the real value of endowment. Nominal return may reflect much lower real value
of endowment because of inflation. So only the real return can make sure that Harvard does not
lose money. (d)From exhibit4, domestic equity and foreign equity have a correlation of 0.5. It
means there is a relatively big part of portfolios overlaps, which means equity and foreign equity
may affect each other due to exposure to risks. 5Yes, TIPS should be considered as an additional

Analysis Of EHR
Despite the preceding comparison, in general, whether we consider portable or wearable, there is
a necessity to integrate these devices into an electronic medical record EHR in order to allow them
to reach their full potentiality. Although portable devices may offer the option of connecting to a
network through cable, both system will have to probably rely heavily on wirelessnetwork
connection in order to transfer their precious data. According to Thomas Haak et al in their
comparison of a wearable flash sensing glucose monitoring technology with a conventional portable
method, there is no difference in the outcomes of the two methods, thus opening the way to

Blood Diabetic patients may soon find an alternative to continuous blood sampling detection. So
far, our interest has been mainly on these body fluid, blood and urine, as potential sample in the
detection of glucose. However, new analytes like sweat, saliva and tears start to challenge the
status of blood and urine as the prefered method of sampling for detection. Patients suffering with
diabetes use continuously at home blood glucose monitoring devices, and often, become exhausted
with the pain, the scars, and loss of finger sensitivity associated with having to prick their finger
incessantly in order to obtain blood sample for glucose detection. These factors tend to reduce
patient compliance for this method, with some times dire consequences such as having an hypo or
hyperglycemic crisis (1, 26).
Urine Urinalysis, originally known as Uroscopy and aforetime the primary mirror of medicine,
dates back to several thousand years, and still plays an important role in the diagnosis and
monitoring of diabetes (5). We mentioned earlier the awareness in Hindu culture of the sweetness
nature of the urine of some people with an emaciated condition. Armstrong J.A noted that Galen

How Does Sylvia Plath Use Humor
Death is Funny: Sylvia Plath s Use of Humor in Lady Lazarus Humor and Sylvia Plath are words
not generally heard in the same sentence. Although her poetry is widely read, we as a society tend
to associate her writing with the inherent darkness in her words, and we tend to ignore everything
else, particularly with regards to the poetryshe wrote near the end of her life. The morbidity in her
writing is most definitely there, but it is often expressed using humor. I will be examining Plath s
poem Lady Lazarus, and in particular the way that Plath uses humor throughout the poem through
her use of sarcasm, hyperbole and absurd comparisons, rhyme, and circus imagery. I will also be
looking at the possible reasons why Plath uses humor throughout Lady Lazarus, and what
purpose it serves as a literary device. Plath s strong use of sarcasm is present in Lady Lazarus
from the very first lines of the poem; Plath writes: I have done it again/One year in every ten/I
manage it (Plath, 1 3). This opening stanzais very tongue in cheek, and through the seemingly
nondescript, nonchalant way she begins the poem, it sets up the first stanza as a foil for the next
stanza, which begins: A sort of walking miracle, my skin/Bright as a Nazi lampshade, (4 5). The
contrast between the content of the first and second stanzas gives the first stanza a very sarcastic
tone. It sets up the concept that death is no big deal to Plath; she s died every ten years. The
opening line, I have done

Benefits Of Internships On The Middle Ages

Get What You Can Internships have been around for a very long time. Even in the medieval ages
there have been signs of internships through the process of apprenticeship. During the Middle Ages
humans did not suddenly become professional blacksmiths. Novices normally went through a
process called apprenticeship. Apprentices would study under their teacher in order to familiarize
themselves with the craft. Apprenticeships typically last three to six years. After successfully
completing this process apprentices go on to become journeymen. The procedure aids beginners in
the field of blacksmithing and helps them make the transition from novice to blacksmith.
Internships are today s version of apprenticeship and just like apprenticeships, internships help ease
students from the classroom setting into the real world workforce.
Internships are an integral part of our society. They not only benefit the trainee but also the
company she or he works for. Through this symbiotic relationship the company gains free labor and
the trainees obtain experience and knowledge. The students that go through internships turn out to
be more experienced and have greater confidence in their abilities. They tend to gain employment
faster and climb the corporate ladder swifter compared to other graduates. There does not seem to
be any risks or downsides to an unpaid internship. However, there are people who criticize unpaid
internships calling

Conditional Probability In Patients
What the patient and the physician really want to know in this context is the reverse conditional
probability. Conditional on having survived with no evidence of further disease progression for
some given period of time elapsed since undergoing a potentially curative intervention how likely is
it that the intervention was successful and that the patient really was cured? From a Bayesian
analysis individually tailored posterior cure probability curves may be constructed. They are a
function of time elapsed since undergoing a potentially curative treatment without evidence of
further disease progression. The likelihood of cure increases monotonically with elapsed time. For a

Unless or until some event occurs providing indisputable evidence of further disease progression
the cure curve remains relevant. It can provide a basis for both patient management and personal
life planning choices. Perhaps equally important, at least from the patient s perspective, a curve that
continually rises over time depicts a hopeful and optimistic future, rather than the depressing future
depicted by an always declining survival curve. If and when the disease reemerges, but only then
must the patient and the physician abandon the cure curve and substitute the patient s individually
tailored survival curve. Regrettably, the survival curve has just become

Is Julius Caesar Honorable
Thousands of memorable and remarkable speeches have been given throughout history, from Jay
Silveria at the U.S. Air Force Academy to Meryl Streep at the Oscars. Among those includes
Mark Antony s famous speech in William Shakespeare s play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. This
unforgettable speech takes place at Caesar s funeral where Antony turns a bewildered, aghast
crowd of mourners into enraged rioters using Caesar s will, Caesars body, and the word honorable.
Mark Antonyuses Caesar s will to ignite a fire within the Roman people. Halfway through Antony
s speech, he showed the crowd Caesar s will and said, ...I must not read it; / It is not meet you
know how Caesar loved you. (3.2.139 140). Antony uses reverse psychology by telling the crowd
he will not read the will aloud, to make the Romans want to hear what the will says. It will inflame
you, it will make you mad: / Tis good you know not that you are his heirs; (3.2.143 144). Antony

Brutus and the rest of the conspirators as honorable because he can not say anything bad about the

honorable man. (3.2.96 97) Antony tells the crowd that Brutus believed Caesar was ambitious and
Brutus is a trustworthy man. By doing this, Antony is leaving the crowd questioning if they believe
Brutus or not. Then, Antony showed the crowd deceased Caesar and his wounds. He pointed to
each wound and would label it with the name of an individual conspirator to make the experience
more personal and heart wrenching. Antony went into detail of the assassination, which made the
crowd weep for Caesar. At this moment, Antony says, They that have done this deed are honorable:

Murder Conventions
In the film Memories of Murder, director Bong Joon ho utilizes a few different generic tropes
rather than just staying in one specific genre. To me, the two most obvious genres that he borrows
from in this film are crime and drama, but it has elements of comedy as well. The most prevalent
genre in my opinion is the crimegenre. The story revolves around detectives, investigating a serial
killerwho rapes and murders women. The entire plotline is clearly within the genre of crime, and I
would say the only subversion from this trope is that there is no resolve. Although the viewer thinks
that they have caught the killer, they do not have enough evidence to convict, and so they have to
let him go. The killer is never caught, and usually in crime... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Later in the film the song comes on the radio, and when the detectives check outside, it has
started raining. They try to call for backup to search the grounds near where the other bodies
were found, but all backup is busy. This is not only extremely dramatic, but also keeps with the
crime drama as well because all of the other police are occupied already. The darkness that comes
with utilizing tropes such as these is counteracted by Boon Jong ho s use of comedy. Throughout
the film there is slight play on the good cop/bad cop trope seen in so many crime dramas. The bad
cop does nothing but drop kick and beat suspects, until his kicking leg gets infected with tetanus and
must be amputated. Although this sounds like a serious moment, because of the situations the
character is seen in (almost all just getting into physical altercations) makes the moment humorous,
because he will no longer be able to perform his favorite activity. Although Memories of Murderis
clearly both a drama and a crime film, the director s use of comedy along with the subversion of the
original genres helps to offset the dark themes slightly, making the film more unique and

The Crisis Center For South Suburbia Essay
This past week at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia was not as eventful as the past two weeks.
The clients that were causing frequent verbal altercations have either exited on their own, exited
involuntarily, or been given a written warning in which they are following the conditions of. I
now have only one client on my caseload, since the other had voluntarily exited herself and her
son. On Monday, 10/31/16, I was able to help the children in shelter celebrate Halloween. We set
up trick or treating spots throughout the shelter and I also was able to handout treat bags that
were donated to the shelter. The kids seemed to have some fun with the little celebration we were
able to give to them. Also on that day, I worked my first evening shift. The evening definitely has
a lot more activity since most clients are back from work or other commitments during the day.
During this time, it was just myself and D working. In the midst of all the activity, we had a
medical emergency that I was able to respond to. Tiffany* had been discharged from hospital with
the understanding that she had a mild heart attack and would need to have a stent put in later. Upon
arriving back from the shelter, something was just not right with her. Myself along with another
client, observed her in the kitchen staring at the counter without moving for around five minutes.

Changing Health Care Policy Changes
Running head: CHANGES IN HEALTH POLICY Changes in Health Policy Terri Obey Kaplan
University Unit 6 August 12, 2015 Abstract When contemplating health care policy changes,
several economic issues in health care must be considered. These include the financial issues
affecting the health sector and have an impact on health policies. Policy makers face unending
challenges due to the health sector revenues that are always rising. Another challenge is decreased
funding and failure of the health insurance services. Cost One of the issues is the increasing cost of
healthcare which is dominating the health policy in U.S. this is accompanied by an increase in
spending on healthcare. According to projections by the government, the spending on medical care
will continue to rise. U.S spends more money on health care than any other nation globally (Holtz,
2013). The increase in the spending is as a result of improved tools for disease diagnosis, better
surgical interventions among others. This raises an issue for the policy makers on the maximum
GDP percentage that a country has to spend on healthcare, and whether the nation will afford the
cost that is continually growing. In contemplating any change in the health policy, policy makers
should consider the cost of the healthcare and the ability of the nation to support that high cost.
Funding Decrease in funding is another economic challenge in health care. The amount of finances
coming from various sources not just the

Southwest Airlines Flight From Baltimore Washington...
In order to visit my family in Rhode Island over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, I decided
that the quickest travel option would be to take a Southwest Airlines flight from Baltimore
Washington International Airport (BWI) to T.F. Green Airport (PVD). Anticipating the high
volume of people also trying to travel during the holiday season, I decided to arrive at the airport
couple of hours early to ensure that I would be able to check my bags, go through TSA security,
and have enough time to go to the restroom before boarding for Southwest began. Between the
time of arrival at the airport and the time a plane leaves the gate for take off, I noticed that within
the airport, in order to eventually board their respective aircrafts, travelers must navigate through
multiple queues, which are line[s] of persons waiting in turn to be served, according, to order of
arrival (Mann, 3). In engaging in these queues, passengers are participating in serially coordinated
actions, in which multiple peopleare attempting to do the same thing at the same time, such that
some must wait while others engage in the activity. After checking their luggage with their
respective airlines, travelers must go through the TSA Security Checkpoint in order to be admitted
onto the concourse. The process of moving through TSA could be considered a compound
(sequentially linked) queue, where a single larger action is accomplished over multiple queues.

Carmina Burana
A work that many have, at least heard a piece, of is Carmina Burana. Carl Orff composed this
piece of music in 1936. A German, he was one of few composers that continued work during the
Anti Semitic rule of the country. Orff based his work off of a collection of poems found at the
monastery of Benedikbeuren that dates back to the Twelfth Century! Carmina Burana is a set of
twenty five pieces that concern many of things going in everyone s life today. Drinking, gambling,
love, sex, fate, and fortune are just a few of the topics Orff composed of.1 In this concert report I

Before reading the text in translation, this piece gave the idea of a rabbit jumping through to
pasture or meadow to a novice listener like myself. This piece picks up from the last movement
still pertaining to fortune. In the latter part of this piece Orff actually wrote in his overall theme
by mentioning the wheel of Fortune turns . The fourth movement, Omnia sol temperat is sung in
a completely different way. It begins with a male soloist singing, accompanied softly by violins.
The way Orff chose to display this movement shows that there is no defined rhythm he is
following. The soloist singing in a profound masculine voice sets the tone for this movement. The
next movement discussed stands out as being one of the longest works of the cantata. In taberna
quando sumus opens with stringed instruments followed by percussion, and then a variety of
other instruments join with the chorus. When we are in the tavern , the title sets this piece up for
what I think would have a been a popular movement when it originated. Orff tells of drinking and
gambling at the tavern, then goes on to list thirty names such as the rich man and the poor man
that all drink. This stood out to me because I didn t see this coming at all! It is also my least my
favorite piece of the work. With the setting what it is, I didn t particularly like the minor tone heard

are made up of employees of the 6 biggest movie producers: Disney, Paramount, Sony, Fox,
Universal, and Warner Bros. (6) It is shown in a study by David Waguespack, an assistant
professor at the University of Maryland s Robert H. Smith School of Business, and Olav
Sorenson, a professor at Yale s School of Management, that movies made by these 6 companies
are 7% less likely to receive an R rating. This may not seem like a lot, but to an independent
filmmaker such as myself, who needs to work so much harder with a way smaller budget to
produce something of quality and have bias against me, is incredibly unfair. The difference
between PG 13 and R is huge. Not only do you have to be 17 to see an R rated film, cutting out
22% of moviegoers in 2014 completely, but that R rating also carries a bad connotation with it,
deterring others who might have seen it if it weren t rated so harshly.

The Field Of Mental Health Counseling
Introduction
Burnout in the field of Mental Health Counseling is a serious concern for everyone involved,
whether the person is just beginning their journey, or if they are a seasoned veteran with years
of experience. Unless, the person has a prevention plan in place and adds it into their busy
schedule and does not stray from their commitment of their self care program. It is easy when
we get busy to skip a day here and there and the next thing you know we have not taken care of
ourselves for a month or longer. Once we permit ourselves to neglect our self care program the
symptoms of burnout and begin to develop very quickly. Personally, I believe with a good self
care program, it is easier to circumvent burnout, then it is to overcome it once you are in its grips.
Here are some of the things I implement into my schedule to help myself from becoming burnt out.
Personal Care Mentally, Physically, Emotionally
As a student pursuing a career in the field of Mental Health Counseling, while I was attending
classes in my undergraduate program self care was a regular topic that was brought up. Over half
of the professors would stress the seriousness of burnout and the need to begin a self care program
while still a student. Fortunately, prior to entering college, I unknowingly began a self care
program, a few times a week I participate in 12 step meetings. At the meetings, I have several close
friends that I can talk to in confidence about anything, that helps me get

Causes And Effects Of Air Pollution In China
Introduction It is very obvious to notice the impact of climate change in my hometown, China. I
was born in Shanghai in 1998, when I was a child, it was not a fresh news when people saw the
blue skies. But now, it is. Currently, almost every adult around me is talking about air pollution
issue. Filtering face masks and air purifiers which can be placed in homes are two popular goods.
Although everyone understands that this issue is very serious, it seems that no one can explain it
clearly in details. Since the influence of climate change in China is a fairly wide range of topic, I
choose to mainly discuss air pollutionas a result of it closely relating to the quality of people s daily
life which people have to breathe every minute. At the beginning of twenty first century, the carbon
dioxideemission in China continue boosting to higher points, and also currently, China is suffering
from one of the worst air pollution in the world. The serious air pollution brings direct and indirect
danger threatening the population health. Scholars from different perspectives, such as economic,
healthy and ecological all strongly recommend that China need to reduce air pollution. Both a few
policies from both federal government and municipal government were implemented, but sadly, the
predicational outcome may not as satisfying as them should be.
The Cause and Impact of Air Pollution In the past three decades, China has experienced
dramatically economic growth which is driven by

Speech On Fractals
[R]
It will be quite difficult for us if we directly jump onto the subject because it is a pure mathematics
.But I assure you that the base trick is simple and once you get it in your mind, whole concept with
its mathematical beauty will be yours .So, it would be quite logical if we go with the fundamentals
.Okay?
Let me tell you first about Fractal , A fractal is a natural phenomenon (make a note of that because it
appears that by creating fractals in nature such as Lightning bolts, Heartbeats , DNA , universe is
doing its own mathematical calculations). or
A fractal is a mathematical set that exhibits a repeating pattern that displays at every scale. If the
replication is exactly the same at every scale, it is called a Self Similar pattern.
And as we saw, it is this Self Similarity that also exists in our cosmic Quantum conundrum of
Particle within the Particle . Fractals can also be nearly the same at different levels. This ... Show

Captain Ahab Dialectical Journal
The next day, the Pequod kills 4 whales and 1 of them was killed by Captain Ahab. Ahab is
mesmerized by one dead whale that is sunbathing in the sun. He believes that whales react to the
sun the same way humans react to the sun. The 4 whales that were killed that day were very much
far apart from each other. They were able to get three of the whales killed the same day but had to
wait until the next day for the fourth whalethat was killed. Every day when Ahab would get out of
his cabin, he would calculate the latitude of the ship based on the sun. The instrument he used to

sign that Moby Dick is near saying that the white flame is the way to the white whale. Starbuck

is a sign of God presenting the consequences of hunting down a creature like Moby Dick. The
resilience of Starbuck continues with Ahab when Starbuck thinks that the crew should take down
one of the main sails but Ahab thinks that it should stay there. This causes disbelief among
Starbuck and cannot believe that Ahab would do this, this leads to a strained relationship among
the two. Stubb and Flask believe that Ahab is a little crazy and is putting the whole crew in

Symbolism In Marigolds By Eugenia Collier
Everyone both young and old knows that the years of childhood can be difficult to all. However,
in some works, the message of growing up isn t always clear. Symbolism is often used in fiction,
such as in the story Marigolds . The story is centered around the idea of growing up and finding
yourself within the years of one s youth. The entire piece of literature tells the story of Lizabeth.
The character Lizabeth lives in a poor, low class town, and is young at the time the story is told.
She lives with the desires to harass her elderly neighbor. But, this neighbor is who ends up being
the reason Lizabeth truly grows up. To start with, in the story Marigolds by Eugenia Collier, many

Photomorphogenic Response Paper
The Vigna Radiata L, more commonly known as Mung bean, is a plant that demonstrates the
general aspects of physiological and morphological growth and development (Xiya Huang, 2013)

how light induces movement (Raven, 2011) The outcome to this is that these responses control a
large amount of a plants lifetime development including, seedgermination, shade avoidance and

Mead Halls In Beowulf
In Beowulf, many parts of the story have realistic and true qualities, one of those qualities is the
quality of how and where they lived. In the pre medieval era, mead halls were commonplace in
the European continent, now they are a thing of the past. Mead halls were very important in
ancient times. Lords ruled from them, and enemies would to try to loot from them. Mead halls
in the Anglo Saxon culture were used for many reasons, among them, bragging rights. Mead
halls conveyed a message of power and strength that are still heard today, not by the factions and
kingdoms themselves, but by the written documents and accounts recorded by Christian monks
and scholars of the past. Mead halls were very important in ancient times. Mead halls served as
homes for the more powerful nobles, their families, and quite possibly their soldiers. Mead halls
served as the government building for each settlement, and was seen as the seat of power for the
lord who possessed it. Mead halls were generally not alone as portrayed in Beowulf, but instead

Identity Negotiation Theory Paper
Identity negotiation theory is a theory that suggests that people are constantly negotiating who they
are to other people that they talk to, if even only subconsciously. Identity negotiation refers to the
process through which perceivers and targets come to agreements regarding their identities Swann
(2014). This essay analyzes self identitytheory, based on the facts that the theory suggests,
particularly how people negotiate their feelings, respect for each other, and in many ways even
their interests and disinterests, then I will critique the theory in question. First, this essay will
discuss how people negotiate their feelings on a daily basis based off the theory in question. When
one says hello or a similar greeting to someone else the speaker is asking (if even somewhat
subconsciously) how the other person is feeling. Usually the other person will communicate back
their feelings, which is answered in a pretty simplistic manner. If the person that answers the
greeting says that they are doing well, then that means that they are in a good mood and are
interested in driving the communication further; if that same person says that they are doing bad
then that means that they re not feeling well today, but are still interested in furthering the
conversation; and if a person doesn t answer the question at all, then that means that that person is

react, in fear of falling under the stasis harsh rules. Despite this, many of the officials were strong

The perpetrators in the book are all view differently by Funder as they all vary in levels of

they all establish themselves as self important officers who are unremorseful with their past

grumpy old puppet, throwing scorn on proceedings from on high, as despises the current system
of Germany, and still supports communism. However, both Herr Kock and Bohnsack portrayed a
different character compared to the other Stasi officials. Koch was used for propaganda as a child

To What Extent Was German Aggression the Cause of the...
Some historians argue that blame for WW1 is with Germany, through her aggressive foreign
policy, whilst others believe it to be with Austria Hungary for instigating the clash in the Balkans,
which eventually, it is argued, created war. Many believe it was the effect of colonial imperialism,
and greed that compelled the world leaders to launch an attack enhancing their individual status in
the balance of European and World power. The issue of blame is one which has caused vast
controversy throughout history, and was controversially re opened in the 1960 s by Fischer. Other

France agreed to fund the Russian military programme and subsequently, France and Russia joined
together in mutual fear of Germany. This reinforces the claim that Alliances escalated small
conflicts into world wide competition. Historians suggest that alliances made violence almost
inevitable and comment that without them, international squabbles would never have led to such a
catastrophic war. For instance Germany s aggression in Morocco was an attempt to display
Germany as a more necessary and influential ally than Britain. It was however, unsuccessful as
Germany s increasing threat to the European distribution of power, and the Kaisers menace to
relations that encouraged France and Britain to launch the Entente trio of WW1. It can be argued
that Germany more frequently exploited the alliances than the members of the Entente, as
emphasised by Fischer, who demonstrates how whilst the alliances were formed for defence, they
were in most cases not implemented with the same aim considered, becoming offensive. As Schmitt
believes, the alliances when put to the final test, almost mechanically operated to convert a local
quarrel into war. However, Joll suggests, the alliances alone were insufficient for causing the war.
He suggests that they influenced the readiness of military plans, but didn t increase the
opportunities for them being implemented. The European powers didn t consider alliances to be
concrete and were therefore reluctant to apply military

The Change The LA Riots Brought
African Americans in Los Angeles and throughout the United States have experienced racial
oppression for centuries. Rodney King was an African American motorist who inspired positive
police reforms after he had a brutal conflict and was beaten by four members LAPD. Rodney King s
encounter resulted in a social and legal compromise because the incident made people aware of the
police brutality, gave African Americans a voice against police abuse, and resulted in reforms to the
way that the LAPD responded to the communities of color.
The Los Angeles Riots were the second Riots to happen after the Watts Riots. The L.A Riots took
place on April 9, 1992. The riots broke out in less than a day and lasted five days and killed more
than 50 people and left more than 2,000 injured. On April 30,1992, writers Richard A. Serrano

verdicts were announced, angry demonstrators torched, buildings, looted stores and assaulted

Hyphen And Illusions Summary
An Analysis of Objective and Style in Bains Hyphen and Bissoondath s Illusions At first glance,
it appears that Anurita Bains Riding the Hyphen and Neil Bissoondath s Selling Illusions stake
diametrically opposed viewpoints: Bains essay derides assimilation (using her own experiences
as a Punjabi girl growing up in Canada as a point of emphasis); Bissoondath s essay opposes
multiculturalism . The uncritical reader might suggest that one must either be pro assimilation or
pro multiculturalism and that both writers are representing a side. And yet neither writer actually
advocates anything other than being human which is as simple and complex as one chooses to
make it. This paper will compare and contrast the two pieces style and show why both pieces
succeed in putting a human face on an issue that often tends to emphasize the background and
leave out the humanity. Multiculturalism, according to Tariq Modood, is the recognition of group
difference within the public sphere of laws, policies, democratic discourses and the terms of a
shared citizenship and national identity (Modood 2). On the surface, this would appear to be a
good and healthy thing: ethnicities are encouraged to retain their respective cultural identities and
retain the customs that are their heritage. And yet there is something devious about the idea: it
sees in terms of groups. The idea is like a pie: each culture is given a slice in the much larger pie

How Did Netflix Pursue Movie Studios
Netflix could pursue movie studios if it can build up a higher number of customers who are

Therefore Netflix would become something that it is trying to compete against which is the

movies such as House of Cards. For Netflix to take the next step it has to create at least one more

For the purpose of this essay the author shall discuss what considerations of structure and culture
shaped the Irish civil service. The Collins English Dictionary (2013, p) defines structure as the way

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service Essay
1. Context and Problem
The Australian Red Cross Blood Service (ARCBS) has identified a long standing issue of poor
repeat blood donation from young donors, in particular males. While this group of the population
has a high number of new donors, it has been found they are also the least loyal, which poses a
problem for both current and future blood stocks. As a marketing consultancy firm, we have been
commissioned to analyse the issues surrounding blood donation in Australia, and to devise three
cost effective marketing strategies aimed at increasing repeat donation from this demographic.
2. Literature Review
The topic of blood donation well researched, with strategies having been devised to try and
increase donation rates all over the world. Australia faces a challenging set of circumstances, in
which remuneration for donation is illegal (ARCBS, 2013). It is thought this may be a contributing
factor to the poor repeat donation rates in youth demographics, for whom altruism is no longer a
primary driving factor when considering donation (Russell Bennett, Hartel, Previte Russel, 2012).
Since the iconic work by Titmuss (1970), blood donation has been considered one of the only true
altruistic behaviours, and many marketing strategies have been engineered around this concept.
Several authors, however, have argued that blood donation is not a case of true altruism , and is
actually a case of impure altruism , whereby the donor receives personal utility and improvement

The Anatomy And Physiology Of Blood Vessels Essay
Circulation
1.Compare and contrasts the anatomy and physiology of blood vessels: arteries, veins and
capillaries. Why are these differences significant in the overall function of the circulatory system?
Please be specific.
The arteries are thicker and more elastic because of the fast pumping of blood that leaves the heart
to other organs to the body, as where the veins are small due to the low blood flow because of the
slow movement from the capillaries to the veins not like the forceful pumping from the heart to the
arteries to the rest of the body. The Oxygenated blood goes through the arteries except the
pulmonary arteries. Then Deoxygenated blood goes through the veins except the pulmonary veins.
The lumen of the artery is narrow, were as the lumen of the veins is wider. There are not valves in
the arteries, were as the valves are present in veins. In the arteries, endothelial cells of tunica
intima are more long then wider, and have more elastic membrane that is more developed. Then
the Tunica media is more muscular, and the tunica extrema is not as developed. In veins, the
endothelial cells of tunica intima are not as long and have more elastic membrane then being
developed. The Tunica media is less muscular were the tunica extrema is more developed.
Arteries are deep within and the veins are more superficial. Capillaries are microscopic vessels;
they carry blood from the arterioles then go to the small veins or venules. The wall of the capillary

The Pros And Cons Of Agent Orange
Agent Orange: An Herbicide with Agency The war in Vietnam was, and continues to be, one of
the most controversial hot button topics in American history. The military s use of dangerous
pesticides, like Agent Orange, is a major part of this controversy. Agent Orange is a defoliant that
was widely used to deforest dense jungle areas to reduce both hiding places and food sources for
the Vietnamese. During the war, American B 52 bombers released over nineteen million gallons of
Agent Orange over the Vietnamese countryside. After ten years of continuous dumping, 1971
finally marked the end of America s use of Agent Orange and other herbicides. In 1974, the United
Statesgovernment, headed by Richard Nixon, swore the country would never again use chemical
weapons in a first strike. (Levy and Scott Clark)
That announcement came too late for many Vietnam War veterans and survivors. In addition to the
ethical implications of intentionally eliminating the jungle as a resource, the use of Agent Orange
created other side effects for both civilians and American military members. Exposure to Agent
Orange has been linked to over fourteen serious health issues, including diabetes and many types
of cancer, as well as thousands of birth defects. (Ha) Over the next five years, U.S. veterans began
experiencing symptoms, such as asthma, chronic rashes, and various cancers, as well as an
increase in the number of children born with Down syndrome or spina bifida due to Agent Orange
exposure.

Importance Of Voting In Texas
Texas has a long ballot, which is an election system that provides for the election that lists all
candidates, for all positions, from all political parties, available to a specific voting district. The
long ballot includes the president and vice president, two U.S. senators, U.S. Representatives,
governor of Texasand five other state executive officials, three railroad commissioners, one
member of the State Board of Education (SBOE), one state senator, one state representatives, nine
members if the Texas Supreme Court, Nine members of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, at
least two and as many as 70 or more state appellate and district court judges, and numerous local
officials varying in city officials to county executives. Being that... Show more content on

Had the ballot been shorter, they believe their decisions could have had more knowledgeable. I
believe that it is important to be well informed when going to vote, and it has now been brought
to my attention that the ballot will contain many positions to vote on, so I will be sure to
research candidates and show up to the voting station informed and sure of my decisions. In
Texas, there are a few types of elections held: general elections, primary elections, runoff elections
and special elections. The general election is held in November of even years statewide to fill
state and national offices. The primary is an election held within each party to choose the party
s candidates for general elections. Runoff elections are held if no candidate in the primary
election receives the majority of votes. Special elections are held outside of the regular election
calendar to fill unexpected vacancies. Because Texas holds a few types of elections, people
believe Texas has too many elections, but I disagree and find that the amount of elections held are
necessary to access situations such as vacancies and allow for voters to practice their right to vote

  • 2. Russian Economic Overview Economic Overview: Although Russia is one of the BRICs countries; it is showing some weakness over the last years with the Euro crisis. The country suffered with economic problems that made its economy to slow the foreign demand. With the weaker foreign demand and the domestic fiscal consolidation made the output growth reduced to 3.4% in 2012. The weakness extended to 2013, with first quarter real GDP falling 1.1% from the previous period, reducing 12 month growth to 1.1%, the lowest rate since 2009. In this scenario, the investment in opening a BFSI in Russia would bring really bad results in terms of profits. In addition, the inflationin Russia rose up to 7.2% in April 2013. The final reason why Russia is going to provide a bad economic perspective to our company is direct related with the crisis in Ukraine. With this crisis, Russia would suffer a major recession and is being strongly affected due to its high dependence on energy supplies via Ukraine . Conclusion: Due to the political uncertainty combined with the weak economy that Russia is presenting for a forging investors, we conclude that better options of the BRIC s countries would be suggested to BFSI invest its money instead investing in the Russia market. The Criminal Justice System Is The Law Of The Land The criminal justice system as a whole can be looked at in numerous ways depending on the sub category you want to approach, whether it be the federal law, law enforcement or correctional programs. In most eyes, the federal law is the law of the land and by that it provides a stable community of rules that everyone must follow with efficiency while providing public safety. With that comes the enforcement of the law, the most common being police. In essence majority of the united stateslooks at the police in a positive light as they are providing support to the community, controlling crimeand making the areas we live at safer on a daily basis. After a brief introduction, James Comey states the FBI was looking into whether classified information was improperly stored or transmitted on [Clinton s] personal system in violation of the Federal statute that makes it a felony to mishandle classified information either intentionally or in a grossly negligent way; or a second statute making it a misdemeanor to knowingly remove classified information from appropriate systems or storage facilities. (Huffington Post ). With this, Hilary Clinton has broken three federal laws including the mishandling of classified information, the violation of the 2009 federal records act and the violation of the freedom of information act (FOIA). Executive Order 13526 and 18 U.S.C Sec. 793(f) of the federal code make it unlawful to send of store classified information on personal email. Casey Harper at The Daily Caller delved into this angle: By using a private email system, Secretary Clinton violated the Federal Records Act and the State Department s Foreign Affairs Manual regarding records management, and worse, could have left classified and top secret documents vulnerable to cyber attack. This is just one example, where a politician has broken multiple laws however at the end charges are dismissed and even with such predominant evidence of illegal activity warrants no criminal ... • 4. Totalitarianism In The Handmaids Tale Dystopian texts explore unfavorable future societies of the authors worst fears, a parallel understanding of an apparent contemporary concept, constructing an unfamiliar perspective that is conceivable and relatable. The realization that the prospect of a dystopian future is built upon the contingent impact from the present, a fabrication of actions and inactions from collective judgments of society. This idea of a contingent impact is reflected to a significant extent in the dystopian text, Handmaids Tale, written by Margaret Atwood in 1985. The novel entails adventures from the perspective of protagonist Offred, a handmaid in a fragmented society run by misogynistic and theocratic totalitarian government. It explores a reality in which a familiar concept of autonomy, sexual prejudice and oppression in the present is metamorphosed into a domineering structural pillar in dystopian world. For these reasons, Atwood challenges the reader with an imaginative creation of the future with a contingent dependence on the present, exemplifying these matters and intensifying the potential future under the reign of a totalitarian society. The conspicuous and problematic concern, which identifies the contingent impacts of the present in the future, is conveyed through diverse notions of autonomy. In modern society, the concept of freedom and independence is advocated, conversely the ideal of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (b) Coupon and principal of the Regular Treasury bonds are fixed, therefore if the inflation rate increases in the forecasting future, investor will receive the same amount of coupon and principal with less real value and purchasing power. So far, our interest has been mainly on these body fluid, blood and urine, as potential sample in the detection of glucose. Patients suffering with diabetes use continuously at home blood glucose monitoring devices, and often, become exhausted with the pain, the scars, and loss of finger sensitivity associated with having to prick their finger incessantly in order to obtain blood sample for glucose detection. These factors tend to reduce patient compliance for this method, with some times dire consequences such as having an hypo or hyperglycemic crisis (1, 26). Although her poetry is widely read, we as a society tend to associate her writing with the inherent darkness in her words, and we tend to ignore everything else, particularly with regards to the poetryshe wrote near the end of her life. The morbidity in her writing is most definitely there, but it is often expressed using humor. I will be examining Plath s poem Lady Lazarus, and in particular the way that Plath uses humor throughout the poem through her use of sarcasm, hyperbole and absurd comparisons, rhyme, and circus imagery. I will also be looking at the possible reasons why Plath uses humor throughout Lady Lazarus, and what purpose it serves as a literary device. Plath s strong use of sarcasm is present in Lady Lazarus from the very first lines of the poem; Plath writes: I have done it again/One year in every ten/I manage it (Plath, 1 3). This opening stanzais very tongue in cheek, and through the seemingly nondescript, nonchalant way she begins the poem, it sets up the first stanza as a foil for the next stanza, which begins: A sort of walking miracle, my skin/Bright as a Nazi lampshade, (4 5). The contrast between the content of the first and second stanzas gives the first stanza a very sarcastic tone. It sets up the concept that death is no big deal to Plath; she s died every ten years. • 9. Benefits Of Internships On The Middle Ages Justin Wu Carol Nader IS301L 5/7/2015 Get What You Can Internships have been around for a very long time. Even in the medieval ages there have been signs of internships through the process of apprenticeship. During the Middle Ages humans did not suddenly become professional blacksmiths. Novices normally went through a process called apprenticeship. Apprentices would study under their teacher in order to familiarize themselves with the craft. Apprenticeships typically last three to six years. After successfully completing this process apprentices go on to become journeymen. The procedure aids beginners in the field of blacksmithing and helps them make the transition from novice to blacksmith. Internships are today s version of apprenticeship and just like apprenticeships, internships help ease students from the classroom setting into the real world workforce. Internships are an integral part of our society. They not only benefit the trainee but also the company she or he works for. Through this symbiotic relationship the company gains free labor and the trainees obtain experience and knowledge. The students that go through internships turn out to be more experienced and have greater confidence in their abilities. They tend to gain employment faster and climb the corporate ladder swifter compared to other graduates. There does not seem to be any risks or downsides to an unpaid internship. Among those includes Mark Antony s famous speech in William Shakespeare s play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. This unforgettable speech takes place at Caesar s funeral where Antony turns a bewildered, aghast crowd of mourners into enraged rioters using Caesar s will, Caesars body, and the word honorable. Mark Antonyuses Caesar s will to ignite a fire within the Roman people. Halfway through Antony s speech, he showed the crowd Caesar s will and said, ...I must not read it; / It is not meet you know how Caesar loved you. (3.2.139 140). Antony uses reverse psychology by telling the crowd he will not read the will aloud, to make the Romans want to hear what the will says. To me, the two most obvious genres that he borrows from in this film are crime and drama, but it has elements of comedy as well. The most prevalent genre in my opinion is the crimegenre. The story revolves around detectives, investigating a serial killerwho rapes and murders women. The entire plotline is clearly within the genre of crime, and I would say the only subversion from this trope is that there is no resolve. Although the viewer thinks that they have caught the killer, they do not have enough evidence to convict, and so they have to let him go. The killer is never caught, and usually in crime... The darkness that comes with utilizing tropes such as these is counteracted by Boon Jong ho s use of comedy. Throughout the film there is slight play on the good cop/bad cop trope seen in so many crime dramas. The bad cop does nothing but drop kick and beat suspects, until his kicking leg gets infected with tetanus and must be amputated. Although this sounds like a serious moment, because of the situations the character is seen in (almost all just getting into physical altercations) makes the moment humorous, because he will no longer be able to perform his favorite activity. Changing Health Care Policy Changes Running head: CHANGES IN HEALTH POLICY Changes in Health Policy Terri Obey Kaplan University Unit 6 August 12, 2015 Abstract When contemplating health care policy changes, several economic issues in health care must be considered. These include the financial issues affecting the health sector and have an impact on health policies. Policy makers face unending challenges due to the health sector revenues that are always rising. Another challenge is decreased funding and failure of the health insurance services. Cost One of the issues is the increasing cost of healthcare which is dominating the health policy in U.S. this is accompanied by an increase in spending on healthcare. According to projections by the government, the spending on medical care will continue to rise. U.S spends more money on health care than any other nation globally (Holtz, 2013). The increase in the spending is as a result of improved tools for disease diagnosis, better surgical interventions among others. This raises an issue for the policy makers on the maximum GDP percentage that a country has to spend on healthcare, and whether the nation will afford the cost that is continually growing. In contemplating any change in the health policy, policy makers should consider the cost of the healthcare and the ability of the nation to support that high cost. Identity Negotiation Theory Paper Identity negotiation theory is a theory that suggests that people are constantly negotiating who they are to other people that they talk to, if even only subconsciously. Identity negotiation refers to the process through which perceivers and targets come to agreements regarding their identities Swann (2014). This essay analyzes self identitytheory, based on the facts that the theory suggests, particularly how people negotiate their feelings, respect for each other, and in many ways even their interests and disinterests, then I will critique the theory in question. First, this essay will discuss how people negotiate their feelings on a daily basis based off the theory in question. When one says hello or a similar greeting to someone else the speaker is asking (if even somewhat subconsciously) how the other person is feeling. Usually the other person will communicate back their feelings, which is answered in a pretty simplistic manner. If the person that answers the greeting says that they are doing well, then that means that they are in a good mood and are interested in driving the communication further; if that same person says that they are doing bad then that means that they re not feeling well today, but are still interested in furthering the conversation; and if a person doesn t answer the question at all, then that means that that person is probably not... This reinforces the claim that Alliances escalated small conflicts into world wide competition. Historians suggest that alliances made violence almost inevitable and comment that without them, international squabbles would never have led to such a catastrophic war. For instance Germany s aggression in Morocco was an attempt to display Germany as a more necessary and influential ally than Britain. It was however, unsuccessful as Germany s increasing threat to the European distribution of power, and the Kaisers menace to relations that encouraged France and Britain to launch the Entente trio of WW1. It can be argued that Germany more frequently exploited the alliances than the members of the Entente, as emphasised by Fischer, who demonstrates how whilst the alliances were formed for defence, they were in most cases not implemented with the same aim considered, becoming offensive. As Schmitt believes, the alliances when put to the final test, almost mechanically operated to convert a local quarrel into war. This paper will compare and contrast the two pieces style and show why both pieces succeed in putting a human face on an issue that often tends to emphasize the background and leave out the humanity. Multiculturalism, according to Tariq Modood, is the recognition of group difference within the public sphere of laws, policies, democratic discourses and the terms of a shared citizenship and national identity (Modood 2). On the surface, this would appear to be a good and healthy thing: ethnicities are encouraged to retain their respective cultural identities and retain the customs that are their heritage.
