Diversity Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of diversity is both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty
lies in navigating the intricate web of perspectives, experiences, and cultural nuances that
encompass the concept of diversity. To begin with, understanding the multifaceted nature of
diversity is crucial. It extends beyond race and ethnicity, encompassing aspects such as gender,
socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, and more.
One must tread carefully to avoid inadvertently perpetuating stereotypes or overlooking certain
dimensions of diversity. Striking a balance between acknowledging the importance of individual
identities and promoting unity can be intricate. The challenge is to delve into the depth of the
topic, exploring its impact on personal growth, societal dynamics, and organizational success.
Moreover, the essay must go beyond mere theoretical discussions and incorporate real-world
examples and experiences. This requires thorough research, empathy, and an ability to relate to
diverse perspectives. Addressing the implications of diversity on various levels, such as
education, workplace dynamics, and social harmony, adds layers of complexity to the writing
process.
Articulating thoughts coherently while maintaining sensitivity is another hurdle. It involves not
only presenting ideas logically but also ensuring that the language used is inclusive and
respectful. Striking this delicate balance requires a nuanced understanding of the power
dynamics associated with different identities.
In essence, writing an essay on diversity demands a high level of cultural competence, research
skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Despite the challenges, successfully navigating
this intricate terrain can result in a piece of writing that not only meets academic standards but
also contributes meaningfully to the ongoing discourse on diversity.
On a related note, for those seeking assistance with essays or any other writing tasks, there are
platforms like HelpWriting.net where you can find support for various topics and academic
levels. These services can provide valuable guidance and help you articulate your thoughts
effectively.

The Social And Political Causes Of The Haitian Revolution
The Haitian Revolution is based on the political purpose that France had when they
fought to possess Saint Domingue (now called Haiti). France, like other empires at
the time, was trying to extend its wealth and power. Therefore, possessing Haiti,
having a lot of gold, sugar, coffee, indigo and others were one way to be strong and
powerful. Being driven by the profits that Haitiwere emanating, African slaves were
continuously brought to Haiti, first to replace the Aboriginals that had died
previously, but also to increase their profits. This led to the slaves outnumbering the
French colonizers. Later on, the free people of color were demanding more right to
the French government and after their refusal, the slaves and the free people of color
revolted which led to the Haitian revolution (Simpsons 1942, 487). The French
colonizers were already struggling about the equality between themselves because
there was a hierarchy present within the White community. Moreover, what created a
reaction to help slaves to revolt was the religious ceremony performed at Bois
CaГЇman by the Maroon voodoo priest Dutty Boukman, which was attended by
representative slaves from several plantations (Laguerre 1989, 1). Boukman called
the help of the spirits to revolt against the white colonists. The revolution of Haiti in
1804 was a social and political uprising in the French Colony of Saint Domingue.
Voodoo rapidly became Haiti s way out of slavery, as it helped them reunite together
and gain the

1.1 OSHA 300 form (include types of information found on this form)
I)The OSHA 300 form is the form required by OSHA for employers to document and
record OSHA mandated information, i.e.; work related death and injury or illness
that involves loss of consciousness, restricted work activity or job transfer, days
away from work, or medical treatment beyond first aid (Hoskin O Reilly, 2009)
Some types of information found on this form include medical treatment and first

I)Restricted work cases occur when an employer or healthcare professional decides
that the employees condition due to an accident would restrict him or her from
performing their normal everyday duties. This restriction of work will continue until
such time as the employee would be released either by the employer or healthcare
professional back to normal duties (Hoskin O Reilly, 2009) (Occupational Safety and

By comparing the location, price, taste and environments of the restaurant, people can
choose what type of restaurant to go. As a result, consumers do have high bargaining
power that they do not have high switching costs.
Suppliers Power:
In Hong Kong market, there are so many food suppliers and food distributors which
often supply raw food materials to catering, for example, local fresh fish markets.
Their principal activities are supplying food to ultimate consumers. Moreover, most
of the raw materials are imported, according to the Food and Environmental Hygiene
Department, over 90% of food is imported from other countries. Unless the main
ingredient of the product is not available, the bargaining power of suppliers of fast
food industry would be therefore relatively small. The industry has very strong
negotiation position for the raw materials and with low switching costs.

This costly barrier is the most probable reason that people do not enter this business.
The food service industry doesn t have any exit barriers, which allow firms to easily

Charity
Charity Among the key concepts of love touched upon by C.S. Lewis in his novel
The Four Loves, is his concept of charity. Charity is a type of love that involves
showing care for someone that is not easily loved, while doing it in a selfless
manner with no gain for the caregiver. From the story of creation in Genesis we are
told that mankind is made in God s image. Through the act of God sacrificing His
son Jesus for our iniquity, we see that he is charitable. Therefore, transitively,
mankind is created naturally for charity. This is important to note because it shows
that regardless of belief in God, anyone can be charitable. Our understanding of
charity can be wrapped up nicely by Lewis on pages 128 and 129 of his book by the...

The lieutenant, though unknowingly, offers money to the whiskey priest because
he had no money to his name. This shows us an important fact that even people
who are not close to God have the natural ability to show charity towards people:
He put his hand suddenly in his pocket and pulled out a five peso piece. There, he
said. Get out of here, and don t let me see your face again, Mind that. (P amp;G,
140) An even more profound moment of charity with the lieutenant comes later
when he actually gets to know the whiskey priest personally. He talks about how if
a person was in deep pain or suffering he would do him a favor by shooting him and
ending his misery. This moment doesn t even seem charitable until later when the
whiskey priest is executed. After being shot by the firing squad, the lieutenant
shoots him in the head so he doesn t die a slow painful death: ...if he was in pain,
with cancer, I d put a bullet through his head. (P amp;G, Page 200) Then there was
a single shot, and opening them again he saw the officer stuffing his gun back into
his holster. (P amp;G, 216) During the point of the whiskey priest s execution we get
to see one more person start to form charitable thoughts. Mr. Tench looks out the
window and sees that he recognizes the whiskey priest as the same man who left his
house in order to tend to the
Spike Lee
An auteur is a director who personal creative vision and style is expressed through
films. The term auteur is originated in France and is French for author. There are
different ways in which a director can express their vision in films and show who
they are. There are many directors that are considered to be a auteur such as: Quentin
Tarintino, Tim Burton, Kathryn Bigelow, Stanley Kubrick and Woody Allen. The
director I have chosen as an auteur is Spike Lee.
Lee s Life:

making some great commercials for Nike, Converse, Jaguar, Taco Bell and Ben Jerry
s.
His Personal Style:
Themes:
Spike is no stranger to controversy due to the elements he uses in his films. Most of
Lee s films consist of an African American theme and inspect the issues of race
relations, political issues, urban crime and violence. His 2nd film he made Do the
Right Thing (1989) explored all of these issues. He also explored the issues of
family/father relationships in his films Crooklyn (1994), Get on the Bus (1996)
and He Got Game (1998). In his films School Daze (1988), Do The Right Thing
(1989), Jungle Fever (1991), Get on the Bus (1996), Summer of Sam (1999) and
Bamboozled (2000) he included the issues circulating around racism. Another issue
he explores is black female sexuality which is in the films She s Gotta Have It
(1986), Girl 6 (1996) and She Hates Me (2004).
Genre:
Whenever it comes to genre Spike always picks the right one. He switches them
around so sometimes his films will be a comedy, sometimes it will be a romantic
comedy (a hybrid genre) or a drama. Spike never seems to
Essay on Intrinsic versus Extrinsic Motivation
Intrinsic versus Extrinsic Motivation
Introduction
The success of any business depends on the productivity and satisfaction of its
employees. Employees need to be motivated to work. Motivation can be defined as
the inner force that drives individuals to accomplish personal and organizational
goals. Motivation can be either intrinsic or extrinsic. For an individual to be
motivated in a work situation there must be a need, which the individual would have
to perceive a possibility of satisfying through some reward. Intrinsic motivation stems
from motivations that are inherent and arise from performing the task of the job
itself, which the individual gets a feeling of either positive or negative motivation as
a result of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those that are intrinsically motivated have a bit of advantages over workers who are
more predominantly extrinsically motivated. For instance, intrinsically motivated
people work on job tasks because they find them enjoyable and interesting.
Additionally, there is evidence showing that intrinsic motivation is positively
correlated with learning, achievement, perception of competence and self efficacy. At
the same time, it is negatively correlated with anxiety, depression, and frustration. An
intrinsically motivated individual will be committed to his or her work to the extent
to which the job inherently contains tasks that are inherently rewarding to him or her
(Lei, 2010).
Drawbacks of Intrinsic Motivation Although intrinsic motivation has numerous
benefits, few drawbacks of intrinsic motivation should also be considered as well. An
intense form of intrinsic motivation can reach to the point that employees can
completely lose track of time and space, completely ignore authority and other
important tasks, as well as not having enough time to learn or perform other essential
tasks while learning and enjoying a particular academic activity. When performing an
enjoyable task, a person can lose track of space or self awareness. Individuals
motivated by intrinsic gratification seek an experience for itself, rather than for
anticipated rewards. The process is considerably more important to them than the
resulting product or outcome, which has them working often

An Example Of The Cocktail Party And Inattentional
Blindness
We think important objects and events in our world will automatically grab our
attention, but they often don t, particularly when our attention is focused on
something else. Cocktail Party Effect describes the ability to focus your hearing on
one specific thing even though noise is all around you. It is named such because this
occurs when you are at a party you can focus on the conversation you are having with
the person close to you and can ignore all the other noise and conversation going on
around you. Your brain helps you selectively focus on the person you are talking too
and mutes the other conversation, music, and general noise around you. Whereas, the
failure to notice unexpected objects or events when attentionis focused elsewhere is
now known as inattentional blindness. The interface between attention and
consciousness are examples of the Cocktail party and Inattentional blindness.
Per the website, Psychology.wikia, the cocktail party effectis an example of selective
attention and is the phenomenon of being able to focus one s auditory attention on a
stimulus while filtering out a range of other stimuli, much the same way that a
partygoer can focus on a single conversation in a noisy room. This effect is what
allows most people to tune in to a single voice and tune out all others. It may also
describe a similar phenomenon that occurs when one may immediately detect words
of importance originating from unattended stimuli, for instance hearing one s name in

At the Introduction to PD workshop I identified two broad reasons why I decided
to pursue my MBA. The first was to develop my competence as a manager. The
second and more important reason was to advance my career by making myself
more marketable. The job market today is undoubtedly very competitive and I
realised that a first degree was not sufficient if I wanted to climb the corporate ladder

From completing the questionnaire I think my core skills of team working and

I am a great team player. I am always willing to lend support and I generally get
along well with other colleagues. I feel confident that I can display this level of
commitment to the team assignments during the second stage of the MBA
program. My coaching and facilitation skills however are in need of serious
development. Again I think my personality has a major part to play because I
always avoid roles that would entail me being in the spot light and I just prefer to
blend in. With this understanding of the roles that I am more likely to gravitate
towards and the ones I stay clear of, I have to wonder if avoiding the other roles
would negatively impact on my overall development. But I also question if this is
how group dynamics work since no one person can be perfect at everything. But I
definitely know that my shyness and lack of confidence is one of my biggest
weaknesses which could jeopardize my effectiveness as a leader or manager.

The Legacy Of The Icon Tower
The Icon rises in NYC skyline, One WTC: 104 stories tall, reaching approximately
1,776 feet. The Icon tower appears to be the most complex and expensive building
ever constructed in the United States. This is the place where people come to
work and remember what happened that day. Not only is this epic building filled
with problems and innovative solutions but it s a place where people come to
work and remember what occurred in this same area. This was a challenge for
architect David Childs, the founder and architect of this building. He said: They
knew that this building would have all eyes on it, and they needed new technical
advances that set path for other buildings in the future. The Icon building was built
next to the 9/11 memorial which is where people come to honor those that died in
the worst horrific terrorist attack in the history of US. Our future nation and the
world needs to know that America is strong and will always remember that. The 9/11
memorial and museum has actual artifacts that were found after the debris of the
fallen buildings. After more than a decade the building of One World Trade Center
has
been complete. The most important is that we did rebuild and gave us a chance to
build better, said mayor of NYC. It is a birth of an icon but really live up to its
promise to be stunning, safe and technologically advanced. The One WTC overlooks
over Lower Manhattan and sits where the twin towers once did, honoring the 3000

accommodation it offered. Sparse lighting, but I could make out four rows of orange
jump seats, one row on each side facing the center and two in the center facing the

utilitarian. Military stencil here and there, nets, straps and electrical wiring running
along the walls. Briefing completed, the loadmaster directed us to grab a seat and
make sure we distributed ourselves evenly to balance the weight out. I choose my

Kesha Symbolism
The release of Kesha s song, Praying signals the liberation of Kesha s musical
purgatory after 4 years. Over the past few years, Kesha Rose was bound to an
exclusive contract with Dr. Luke which hasn t allowed her to release or produce
any new music. She claimed in a lawsuit that this contract enabled Dr. Luke to
control every aspect of her life. Kesha has accused him of both verbal and sexual
abuse during this contract. As of March 2017, Dr. Luke s role as CEO of his
record company has been expired and Sony, the company that owned Dr. Luke s
record label didn t renew it, and has released Kesha from her contract. Now, Kesha
is able to release new music she writes on her own, all seen on her new album
Rainbow which Praying is on. To develop the underlying message of the song,
Kesha uses setting, point of view, and symbolism throughout her music video.

convey her emotional state. In the music video Kesha starts off in a dark basement

towards not only her life, but the concept of why she should be alive. Kesha s point
of view demonstrates her true colors by revealing her tone through rhetorical

Assess The Validity Of Wikipedia
The number one major criticism of Wikipedia is that it is not a creditable source of
information. Wikipedia allows for laypersons, in addition to their staff editors, to
contribute to the information within the websites database. While the contributors
may very well be reliable their identity is often unknown; leaving the researcher
unable to verify their contribution and sort out any personal bias from the writer.
Wikipedias own websitestates that its not creditable because anyone can edit the

There is some thought that it is impossible for biasness not to be introduced into
research. From the selection of the research topic to the choice in sources, an author

personal bias into their work, it does not automatically mean that the validity of their
research is jeopardized. The author must prove through the use of reliable sources
that there is sufficient evidence that their point of view is supported by fact. It is the
absence of these supporting facts that draws Wikipedia into the realm of unreliability.
When comparing Wikipedia to Sociological research, in the terms of objectivity, one
can see that there are similarities and differences. A similarity is that both platforms

MOTIVES THAT CONTRIBUTED TO IMPERIALISM Imperialism is defined in
the dictionary as being a The policy of extending a nation s authority by territorial
acquisition or by establishing economic and political hegemony over other nations (p

being the domination of a small country by a larger, more powerful country, usually
to the advantage of the larger country. At the beginning of the nineteenth century

Talley s Folly Play Analysis
The play Talley s Folly is set in the 1940 s (1944) just outside Lebanon, Missouri in
an old, run down boathouse. This play was written by an American playwright,
Lanford Wilson in 1979 about two odd ducks who find each other and realize that
love isn t just about having kids. In this performance I really enjoyed the set. It was
very clear it was an old, rickety boathouse and did not need much explaining.
Dariusz Korbiel did very well designing the set so you didn t have to focus much on
figuring out where they were. I also really enjoyed the chemistry on stage, you could
tell there was tension between the two but they also needed each other. Johnny

Demonstrations of the Power of Dictators in Anthem by
Ayn...
Anthem Essay Hitler once stated He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.
This means that whoever is in control of the youth will control what is going to
happen, because the youth are the future. Anthem by Ayn Rand demonstrates that
Dictators are all powerful and will do anything to keep that power.
Dictatorial leaders have multiple reasons for separating children from their parents
and family. Some reasons may include if they are taken from their families young
they won t remember their life with their families and won t try and break the rules to
find them. Another reason children may be taken from their families is to make sure
that the parents and relatives do not tell them things that the leader does not want
them to believe. A final reason that the dictatorwould take a child from their family
is to keep them from becoming more advanced than they want them to. There are
many other reasons why dictators may do this which will be explained. Children
taken from their parents at young ages do not remember who their parents are or
what they looked. Dictators take the children at that age for the very reason that the
kids will not want to look for their parents because the child does not know what his
or her parents look like. An event similar to that happened in Anthem whenever the
kids would be taken from the mother after they were born and were sent to his or her
first home until they would be old enough to start school. Making the kids constantly
change homes

You can greatly increase creativity and problem solving with the use of cross
functional teams because of their composition. Members of cross functional teams
come with a diversity of experience, expertise, and knowledge. This diversity can
help broaden perspectives and create synergy, where interaction of the members
create a greater effect than the sum effects of each member acting alone, leading to a
high level of creativity.
Cross functional teams are not without disadvantages. The team can take
significantly longer to develop cohesion because members come from different
experiences and backgrounds. Moreover, a team leader must take care managing
team relationships carefully because there may be a high level of conflict in these
teams due to unit rivalry, egos, and possible conflict between the interests of the

of the caranations and the progress of senescence were measured. Difference in
Weight of Carnations for Varying Ag+ and AOA Treatments: As the concentration of
Ag+ increased, the average weight of the flowers, though it has fluctuated and
changed for each concentration, has stayed around a certain range of 8 to 13 grams.
The average weight for AOA concentrations, however, though it also remained
around a similar range, 7 13 grams, the weight has decreased as the concentration of
AOA increased. Biological Explanation of Difference of Weight of Carnations: Effect
of Ag+ on Weight of Carnations: Ethylene produced, although is in gaseous form, can
most likely add weight to the overall flower or plant. As Ag+, an ethylene action
inhibitor, can bind to ethylene and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This might also be because of the reason that Ag+ only inhibits ethylene to a certain
extent and also after some time. It can be hypothesized that there is a direct
proportionality between the concentration of Ag+ and ethylene transfer. For example,
it might seem rational that higher concentration of Ag+ can cause a lower chance of
senescence. However, according to the table, this is not the case as it is too ideal. 5
out of 6 groups recorded a note of senescence in Ag+ (0.25mM) solution. Although it
can be argued that the rate of senescence is not as high for other concentrated
solutions, 3 carnations underwent senescence in Ag+ (1.00 mM) solution and only 1
carnation showed senescence in Ag+ (0.50 mM) solution. Therefore, the
concentration of Ag+ does not determine the rate of senescence but rather the
productiveness of ion
Li Bai Research Paper
Li Bai: A Life in Words The Tang dynasty of classical era China is renowned for its
influence in the realm of the fine arts, including: poetry, pottery, painting, and
magnificent calligraphy. Two well known poets of the Tang dynasty are the greats, Li
Bai and Du Fu, both known for their flamboyant and free spirited poetry. Of the two,
the poems of Li Bai that are still around today massively outnumber those of Du
Fu. The life story of the poet Li Bai is steeped in extravagance, as well as, hardship
and mystery. Li Bai, also known as, Poet Immortal , was born in the year 701 CE in
central Asia; the exact location of his birth is unknown, but it is speculated to have

for his yue fu poems that are often very intense and filled with fantasy. There are many
legends surrounding the persona that is Li Bai. Some legends say that he could
compose poems at an astonishing speed without having to make corrections afterward.
Li Bai s personal favorite form of poetry to write was the juejue, a five or seven
character quatrain. Approximately 160 of his poems are juejues. Although the
language that Li Bai uses isn t quite as knowledgeable as that of Du Fu, the poems of
Li Bai are saturated with his grandiose imagination.
The works of Li Bai were so cherished by the people of classical China because the
people, even the extremely poor, could relate to Li Bai s style of writing. One of Li
Bai s most famous poems is Drinking Under the Moon, how ironic. It was written
very spontaneously and is filled with natural imagery.
In the west, Li Bai was made known, partially, because of Ezra Pound s versions of
his poems in Cathay, which is a collection of classical Chinese poetry translated into
English. Also, just a fun fact about Bai s life; there is a crater on the planet Mercury
named after him. Again, that seems very ironic considering he may have died from

The Characteristics Of Basketball Athletes In The NBA
All great basketball players have skills, and a reason that makes them great. When
people think of professional basketball players, the first word that usually comes to
mind is tall. However, that is not always the case. There are many players that are
under 6 3 and while that may sound tall to us, it is short in the world of basketball.
Surprisingly, some of the shorter players are known to be better on the court. And
they re not just known for their height... many are known for the name brands they
represent. Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and Jordan are just a few of the brands
that are promoted by these players. All great basketball players, NBA or not, are
tall. Both current and past players all have a common trait of being tall. Lebron
James 6 8 , Kevin Durant 6 10 , Jimmy Butler 6 6 . All of these players have height,
and the skills that come with it. Being tall in the NBA doesn t guarantee you are
the best players, but it does give you a significant advantage. Lebron and Kevin
both have championship rings and a numerous amount of MVP s (Most Valuable
Player). These awards show what having height and the skills that come with it
This can give a huge disadvantage to the rest of the smaller guards and forwards in
the NBA. Both Kevin and Lebron developed the skills of being big men, and once
it was perfected, they developed the insane art or shooting. These two players can
shoot from anywhere, that s what makes them so dominant and un guardable.
Their size only adds to the fact that smaller players can t contest them or use their
bodies against them. All great players like these have height and the skills that
come with it. All great basketball players can be short . Guards, these are the
faster, quicker, and I think more lethal players in basketball. All guards have a
similar trait of being short or shorter than most players. These short guards like
Steph Curry 6 3, Damian Lillard 6 3, and Isiah Thomas 5 9, obviously don t have
the height to compete, but they do have an insane mind set and have all of the skills
to be better than anyone else. These skills are passing, shooting, and dribbling.
Guards are the most lethal players in all of the basketball leagues in my opinion. Stats
Stewardship Theories Of Presidential Power
This chapter s first section starts off by talking about how the presidency is
structured. It covers everything from how the Framers first deciding on a single
executive, to when term limits were set in place, how the Electoral College works,
what has been done about presidential succession and disability, and lastly the process
of impeachment. Moving on the next section covers the different theories of
presidential power; this includes the stewardship theory and the constitutional theory.
The difference between these two theories is the stewardship theory revolves around
the idea that executivepower can be used for any actions or initiatives as long as they
are not specifically prohibited by the Constitution, constitution theory on the other...

The next section covers how the president is able to appoint officials, federal judges,
and ambassadors thanks to Article II, Section 2. It also explains under what
circumstances the president can and cannot remove appointed officials without the
consent of the Senate. Moving on the subject of the presidential pardon is explained
in detail. The interesting thing with the presidential pardon is that while it does
restore the person s innocent status, the acceptance of it is tantamount to an
admission of guilt in the first place. Besides this the president is also able to grant
amnesties, which grant a person an essential blanket pardon, and are typically used in
the military cases. The following section goes over the concept of executive
privilege, and one of the most controversial times of its attempted use. Unfortunately,
though many times in the past executive privilege has been used for the good of the
country, there have been times where this privilege was abused as well. After this,
presidential immunity is the next focused point to be reviewed in this

These compartments allow the chemicals involved in a particular process in the cell,
such as photosynthesis or respiration to be kept separate from the rest of the
cytoplasm. This cell structure and high degree of internal organisation optimizes
essential chemical reactions, and allows the processes within the cell to function. The
fluid that occupies the space between the organelles is called the cytosol, a solution
containing a complex mixture of enzymes, amino acids and waste materials.
T2. The cell surface plasma membrane covers the outside of a cell, and this is a
double layered sheet of phospholipid molecules interspersed with proteins. It
separates the cell from the outside environment; this protects the cell, and allows the
import and export of selected chemicals.
1Phospholipds are the main component of cell membranes. They naturally form
membranes in water because they automatically arrange themselves into a bilayer that
is almost impermeable to water and to water soluble substances. The membrane keeps
the cell contents in and other substances out. There is however a need for selective
transport into and out of a cell and the cell does this through membrane proteins.
2 Membrane proteins act as hydrophilic pores, water filled channels that allow water
soluble substances to pass through. These pores are small and

Being in a Leadership position doesn t mean that the managers or supervisors get
to do whatever they want, but they do have to lead by example. There have been
times where the both of us have experienced certain events where we can hold
specific friendships with our soldiers. Better way to explain is when the uniform
comes on, it s strictly business. We couldn t hang out with the soldiers outside of
work so that there wouldn t be any favoritism in any working environment with our
soldiers. It s all about the way he treated his soldiers and how he took care of his
soldiers. From his words, If you take care of your people, your people take care of
you. It s not all about dictatorship, yelling at your soldiers and the rank on your

Being the umbrella or the shield for you people is basically what managers do to

The problem of water shortage is one of the major limiting factors in food
production and agriculture development in the arid and semi arid regions.
Reclaimed water is one of the most significant available water resources that shall
be consumed in agriculture and urban landscape maintenance. In order to investigate
the impact of water quality and its application method on olive trees this experiment
was carried out during 2010 2012 in the semiarid central part of Iran on young olive
trees. The trees were irrigated by a new subsurface leaky irrigation(SLI) system and
surface irrigation in line with irrigation with recycle and clean water for 24 months.
The results revealed that SLI system could enhance trees growth, leaf area, Fv/Fm and

What Accounting And Finance Is And Why It Has An
Important...
INTRODUCTION
This report focuses primarily on the understanding of what Accounting and Finance is
and why it has, and will continue to be, an important aspect of any business further
exploring its subsequent relevance in guiding those who work in these areas.
WHAT IS ACCOUNTING?
Accounting, a practice which goes back many millennia, arises from the concept
which Britton and Waterston (2005, p. 03) believe came about when managers
(known then as stewards) had to account for their stewardship of the owners money .
Fundamentally, this idea brought forward by Britton and Waterston, is possibly a
leading factor when trying to understand what accounting is which is defined by the
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales... Show more content on

While this may be the case, the final aim of preparing all these documents is to assist
people by communicating to them information on which they will subsequently make
a decision on.
WHAT IS FINANCE?
Finance, similarly to accounting, assists people with their decision making. The
difference being that finance focuses mostly on the way a business entity raises and
invests funds. According to an extract from the University of North Carolina
Wilmington titled, What is Finance? , finance incorporates the study of money and
other assets, the management of those assets and being able to profile and manage
project risks . In this way, it is clear to see how accounting and finance are linked
because without accounting information, none of the above incorporations would be
possible. Finance can be divided into three categories: public, personal and corporate
finance.
пѓ Public finance is the study of the role of the government in the economy and how
resources are allocated (Atkinson and Stiglitz. 1980)
пѓ Corporate finance is the area of finance which dealt with the way a business
sourced funds and used them to increase the overall value of the business.
пѓ Personal finance is simply the finance that an individual deals with taking into
considerations risks and future events.
TYPES OF ACCOUNTING
There are various types of Accounting which serve different purposes but are of equal
significance when it comes to the well being and
The Importance Of Life In Ayn Rand s Anthem
Anthem depicts a world of the future, a collectivist dictatorship in which there is no
individualism and people are grouped together and given the same name to unify the
group and strip away individualism. The future as depicted in the novel
Anthem (1938) by Ayn Rand is an insight into what she came from in Russia, where
communism and
Stalinism a form of communism under the rule of Joseph Stalin, was the main form
of government in
Russia where all people get the same amount of everything. There are multiple
connections between the way of life where Ayn Randcame from and the way of life
in her story Anthem. Ayn Rand gave an example of how life was in Russia by talking
through the story and reflecting her experience
Separation of Power
It should be remembered that the notion of the doctrine is in the assumptions that the
three organs of the government and its functions should be distinguishable from one
another. The idea of abandoning the notion of the doctrine means all functions of the
government can be performed by one organ for example executive takes all
government functions like enacting the law, interpreting the law, provides people s
welfare, determines the rights of the people.
In our opinion, we do not wish to abandon the doctrine of separation of power but
however, this notion shall follow the Montesquieu approach as he provides for a
separation of power that aims at having separate institutions doing separate function
by separate personnel and having the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and the judiciary power vested in the supreme court. Many of the other constitution

Separation of power promotes efficiency in the administration. Through separation of
powers, each power of the government has to be assigned with their own duties,
judiciary, also legislature, and these duties should not be interfered. To say to control

Islamic State West Africa Province Essay
Islamic State West Africa Province, Group of the People of Sunnah for Preaching
and Jihad, Boko Haram; known by many names, the terror organization that has
plagued Northern Nigeria since the mid 2000s remains a threat to stability in
Western Africa. Boko Haram was classified by the Global Terrorism Index as the
deadliest terror organization of 2015; inflicting 6644 deaths, 77% civilians, this
terror group is in fact on the decline due to infighting, coalition military strikes and a
seeming lack of strategy, save for assaults on civilians and some infrastructure. Such a
lack of strategy through which to attain their end goal of a fundamentalist Sharia state
in Nigeriahas led to the group s decline. A new strategy is critical if it were to make
a resurgence to prominence in northern Nigeria. Should a strategically enlightened
leader take the reins of Boko Haram, his first priority would be to end the hostilities
between competing factions by any means necessary. He would afterwards find it
necessary to integrate and garner support for his cause amongst the general
population, rendering the two entirely necessary to mutual survival. The next priority
would be to divide and cripple Nigerian armed forces through attacks on soft targets
to degrade morale and possibly open negotiations for some kind of resolution. Failing
that, calling on support from other fundamentalist organizations and countries would
no doubt add to the fighting capacity and legitimacy of Boko Haram, thus

Nat Turner s Role In The Abolishment Of Slavery
Some people think his actions are crazy. Other suggest that his actions were rational
and justified. Whether or not you believe either of these, it is certain that Nat Turner
was a revolutionary figure.
Nat Turner played a key role in the abolishment of slavery. He organized the most
notable slave uprising in modern history. Under his leadership, rebellious slaves
killed over 50 white people in August 1831. Although violence should not be
condoned, the brutality of the massacre opened the eyes of Virginians and citizens
across America. The rebellion began to make people see the extent slaves would go
to in order to be freed from their confined lives.
Nat Turner s impact on human history was substantial. His initial goal of freeing his
people of slavery was not accomplished initially. However, his expression of
fearlessness and determination was a key point in the disintegration of slavery 34
years after his death. Ever since the attacks, Nat Turner and his life history have
been well documented. There are so many people that have been affected by Nat
Turner s life. People have been left with questions that cannot be answered about the
rebellion. In order to look for answers to Turner s controversial actions, we look
toward the authors, producers, and historians who have studied Nat Turner and his
life.
Immediately after his capture, Nat Turner delivered his confessions to Thomas R.
Gray. Gray wrote down what Turner told him and published a pamphlet after Turner s
death.

health when we are sleeping. One sleep researcher team from University of

Theme Of Fire In Fahrenheit 451
Fire, the symbol of warmth, destruction, and renewal, is a dominant image in the
novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Guy Montag, the protagonist, lives in a
grim, futuristic United States where people have given up books and knowledge in
general for entertainment and instant gratification. The standard use of fire to warm
and heat has been replaced to be used for destruction and entertainment. Montag s
job as a fireman clearly shows this, as he is required to burn books and houses.
Montag s understanding of fire and burning as destruction is completely reversed by
the end of the book when he regards it as a symbol of warmth and renewal. Montag s
enjoyment of fire and burning is changed through his interactions with Clarisse and...

In Dear Friend (?): Culture and Genre in American and Canadian Direct Marketing
Letter , Roger Graves examines how English speaking Canadian people are different
from Americans, and how business communicators need to identify those differences
to be successful in both countries. Roger Graves uses warnings written on the
cigarette packet to argue that Americans see only the health factors when Canadians
consider both health and moral issue.
Another difference Roger Graves states is that ... Show more content on

He mention that Canadian seem to prefer more direct approach than Americans.
(244).In his research, American culture with less power distance using a friendly
facades. As a result, business letters in America starts with Dear friend (244). On the
other hand Canadians prefer business letters with a more formal tone which
establishes more power distance. A Canadian focus is only on the products and
services, anything other than that is insincere.
Business letters in America use economics, nationalistic and patriotic sensibilities to
sell their products and services. In contrast, Canadians prefers to have facts,
professionalism, and confidential analysis of products and services, enhancing the
credibility and trustworthiness of businesses. Canadians view the extrinsic rewards in
the products and services with suspicion suggesting that it may not worth purchasing.
He also observes that the US market is larger and more complex than the Canadian
market. US businesses include a brief explanation of them; whereas, Canadian
businesses assume customers to know who they are.
In the U.S. presidential campaign, Bill Clinton put the date and hand written sign to
reduce the distance with the general people by making it more personal. They want
to believe that politicians are more in touch with the general people by greeting Dear
Friend in their letter as a polite greeting from an equal. In Canada, Dear
Antigone Essay
Antigone Essay
In any story or piece of literature, there will always be the main characters to fill the
pages with incessant adventure. The characters whose names appear on almost every
page and the characters whose actions the story revolves around. However, a story
will also always have its minor characters. These are the characters that contribute
heavily to the plot, yet aren t mentioned quite as often and are underestimated
regarding their importance in the story. In the Greek masterpiece, Antigone, the
author Sophocles construed a myriad of minor characters that contributed to the story
in numerous ways.
Ismene, one of Oedipus daughters, was created to foil the main character, Antigone.
Haemon, the son of Creon, took ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Antigone is portrayed as gaunt, washed out, and unattractive. With such
antagonism between the sisters, Sophocles presents drama by developing another
form of rivalry and another reason for Antigone to rebel against the law.
At the end of the story when Antigone was listening to her punishment for burying
Polynices, Ismene speaks up and attempts to be held responsible for the crime. She
pleads with Antigone to let her die alongside her, however, Antigone did not want her
sister to take any blame in something she had nothing to do with, so she disregarded
her sister s pleas. Sophocles included this situation because it was another
disagreement between the sisters and added more controversy to the plot.
Sophocles included the rivalry between the personalities because it gave each
character something to act off of. Ismene s role was important to the plot because she
played the vigilant girl and provided the story with drama and second guessing by
having contradictory opinions.
Secondly, another character that affected the story with such a minor part was
Haemon. Haemon, being the king s son, had a lot of expectations and generalizations
to live up to, but he dispersed them when he stood up to his father.
One thing Haemon did that influenced the plot was to rebut his father s opinions.
Prior to conversing with Creon, Haemon had a positive outlook about his father. He
felt he was a good ruler and was fair, yet those beliefs were
Reflection On Reading And Writing
The reading and writing practice that were done in class help me implement new
technique in my writing. There were presentations in class that discussed different
ways to become a better writer. The skills that were developed help with my
writing and can use the skills to implement in others course, helping to form better
essay. I learned about words that are not recommended of being used, how to
transition, and where to look for good scholarly articles. A practice that was done
for every assignment was to go over the first draft and finding new ways to
improve upon it. Going over the first draft help me improve my writing. One of the
practice talked about in English 5A, was to have multiple drafts. After reading
Shitty First Drafts passage, it gave details of what the benefits of having multiple
drafts. The passage relates to many people by discussing the difficulties people
have when starting the first draft. The first draft being difficult to write for many
is because of not knowing what to write or how to start off, therefore it does not
contain all the informations needed to make it a strong draft. The first draft
maycontain grammar error and lack of information, and it is the first step in
making the essay better in the second and third draft. Bring a draft for every
assignment given has helped me get into the habit of having more than one draft.
Bring a draft to class to analyze it is useful because I am able to see the mistake and

Pros And Cons Of Non Native Plants
Do you know the affects non native plants have on the Arizona landscape? There
are many invasive plants that are destroying our landscape . I m going to be
sharing the pros, and cons the non native plants have on the Arizona landscape. In
my opinion the spread of invasive plants is more harmful to our native landscape
than it is beneficial. A native plant is a plant that evolves in a particular area for a
long period of time. They also adapted to the weather change in that specific area,
As well as worked alongside other plants to provide habitat for wildlife. A non
native plant is a plant that originates from a particular place and was put some
place else by accident. The dangers of having a non native plant in a place in which
it did not originate is harmful because our wildlife eat the native plants and if a non
native plant evolves in that area and the animals eat it there is no telling what harmful
side effects that specific plant will have on that animal.... Show more content on

When fire prone invasive plant causes a fire the cycle of life including food, water,
and shelter are greatly impacted. Some animals aren t as affected by these fires as
others are like reptiles who can avoid some of the harmful effects of the fire
because they can go underground. When the wildfire spreads the animals left on
the ground that don t flea can be extremely affected by the smoke of this burning
fire, some of these animals don t survive because they aren t able to flea or hide
from the fire. When the ones that flea try to come back there is nothing left for
them to live off of essentially their habitat has been destroyed . For example baffle
grass is a fire prone grass that originates from the African savanna. It has quickly
spread across central and south Arizona, if the problem is not handled
Similarities Between Fahrenheit 451 And The Pedestrian
In Ray Bradbury s works Fahrenheit 451 and The Pedestrian , both the individual and
the society are affected by dystopian traits, such as brainwashing and implementation
of ideologies, general ignorance throughout the society, and a severe lack of
individuality.
Both societies are affected by brainwashing via extreme amounts of exposure to
government controlled media. In Fahrenheit 45,1 the Parlour , four walls of TV
screens, and Seashells are the main apparatuses for indoctrinating the population.
These high levels exposure render the mind to a numb, idle, puddle. like grey
animals peering out from electric caves, faces with grey colourless eyes, grey tongues,
and grey thoughts ( Fahrenheit 451 ,p.179). In The Pedestrian , televisions are also
the main apparatus for conditioning the public. TV s broadcast the same stupefying
programs indefinitely. What s up tonight on Channel 4, Channel 7, Channel 9?
Where are the cowboys rushing...? Mr. Mead quips as he passes houses on one of his
walks. He is able to predict what is being broadcast. ... Show more content on

The individual is transformed into a pawn, subject to the will of the government. This
manipulation has a profound impact upon the individual and breaks their psyche. In
The Pedestrian the individual is equally influenced by the government controlled
media. The individual loses all intrinsic human qualities and is simply livestock
waiting to be lead. The individual only differentiating factor is their external
appearance, inside, mentally they are all the
Ideology Was More Important Than Culture and Religion
for...
Ideology was more important than culture and religion for the growth of nationalist
movements in the period before WWII. How far do you agree? Colonial rule had
brought about many significant impacts in South East Asian countries which
included many dissatisfactions among the natives. Thus, this brought about the rise
of nationalist movements. There are many reasons to why there was a development
of these movements and the two main reasons for this cause was ideology as well
as religion and culture. The spread of ideology such as Marxism and communism
and the preservation of culture and religion were one of the main factors as to why
nationalist movements were widespread in the period before WWII. The growth of
nationalism refers to how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These movements were not able to adapt or change its methods to cater to the
needs of the locals and causing their support to decrease in the long run. This
shows that there was limited growth of nationalism in the movements based on
religion and culture. For instance, SI was led by two factions, one by Agus Salim
and the other by the radical political party led by the ISDV. In 1918, when the
Dutch sensed the radicalization in the SI, many supporters withdrew their support
from the party. This caused the SI to ban joined membership in SI and other
communist organisations which was based on ideology. This shows that
movements that are based on religion did not grow and failed to become more
radicalized which was essential for the growth of nationalism especially where
colonial rule was suppressive. Thus, from here it shows that religion does not play
a significant role in the growth of nationalist movements as compared to ideology.
Ideology on the other hand was more broad and more all encompassed than religion
and culture. This helped garner more support in the long run and also led to the
growth of national movement despite suppression from colonial powers. These
movements are also able to manipulate situations of hardships to their advantage
such as the Great Depression and its detrimental effects of the locals. Movements
based on ideologies are more flexible and are able to maneuver its methods to suit
the needs of their people and also deter suppression
My Out-Of-Class Negotiation At Macy s Department Store
The topic for my out of class negotiation was to get a good deal when purchasing
business jacket from Macy s department store. In this paper, I will examine my
preparation process for negotiation, applied concession strategy along with
implemented personal bargaining style. Finally, I will evaluate my the knowledge
gained and my personal communication competence measure to improve my
negotiation and communication effectiveness for any situations that may arise in the
future. Insights are drawn from three sources: my own experience, the online search,
and the course book Bargainingfor Advantage.
When entering the store, I wanted to appear reasonable, following along
consistency principle, so I can get a normative leverage in this negotiation. Before
jumping in any bargaining, I ve decided to do my homework and gathered some data
about Macy s, it s policies and sales they were having at that time. In order to get
the best deal, I had to know the standards and norms such as quality , quantity ,
applicable discounts that carry weight in negotiations and would seem legitimate to
another party. This analysis would give me a speaking role and fair basis on which I
could be an effective advocate for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning, I opened optimistically, then showed a willingness to cooperate
and made a series of smaller concessions in the end. Even though this negotiation
seemed like distributive with a goal to divide a pie, in this case simple buy/sell
transaction, I was able to transform it to some extent in integrative negotiation. I
used flexibility on the quantity of purchase, which allowed be to bring the price
down, from the associate side it was a win because instead of selling just one jacket,
she included 2 more items. However, I was very firm with my tactics in my
concession strategy in support of high

Diversity Essays

  • 1. Diversity Essays Crafting an essay on the subject of diversity is both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies in navigating the intricate web of perspectives, experiences, and cultural nuances that encompass the concept of diversity. To begin with, understanding the multifaceted nature of diversity is crucial. It extends beyond race and ethnicity, encompassing aspects such as gender, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, and more. One must tread carefully to avoid inadvertently perpetuating stereotypes or overlooking certain dimensions of diversity. Striking a balance between acknowledging the importance of individual identities and promoting unity can be intricate. The challenge is to delve into the depth of the topic, exploring its impact on personal growth, societal dynamics, and organizational success. Moreover, the essay must go beyond mere theoretical discussions and incorporate real-world examples and experiences. This requires thorough research, empathy, and an ability to relate to diverse perspectives. Addressing the implications of diversity on various levels, such as education, workplace dynamics, and social harmony, adds layers of complexity to the writing process. Articulating thoughts coherently while maintaining sensitivity is another hurdle. It involves not only presenting ideas logically but also ensuring that the language used is inclusive and respectful. Striking this delicate balance requires a nuanced understanding of the power dynamics associated with different identities. In essence, writing an essay on diversity demands a high level of cultural competence, research skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Despite the challenges, successfully navigating this intricate terrain can result in a piece of writing that not only meets academic standards but also contributes meaningfully to the ongoing discourse on diversity. On a related note, for those seeking assistance with essays or any other writing tasks, there are platforms like HelpWriting.net where you can find support for various topics and academic levels. These services can provide valuable guidance and help you articulate your thoughts effectively. Diversity Essays Diversity Essays
  • 2. The Social And Political Causes Of The Haitian Revolution The Haitian Revolution is based on the political purpose that France had when they fought to possess Saint Domingue (now called Haiti). France, like other empires at the time, was trying to extend its wealth and power. Therefore, possessing Haiti, having a lot of gold, sugar, coffee, indigo and others were one way to be strong and powerful. Being driven by the profits that Haitiwere emanating, African slaves were continuously brought to Haiti, first to replace the Aboriginals that had died previously, but also to increase their profits. This led to the slaves outnumbering the French colonizers. Later on, the free people of color were demanding more right to the French government and after their refusal, the slaves and the free people of color revolted which led to the Haitian revolution (Simpsons 1942, 487). The French colonizers were already struggling about the equality between themselves because there was a hierarchy present within the White community. Moreover, what created a reaction to help slaves to revolt was the religious ceremony performed at Bois CaГЇman by the Maroon voodoo priest Dutty Boukman, which was attended by representative slaves from several plantations (Laguerre 1989, 1). Boukman called the help of the spirits to revolt against the white colonists. The revolution of Haiti in 1804 was a social and political uprising in the French Colony of Saint Domingue. Voodoo rapidly became Haiti s way out of slavery, as it helped them reunite together and gain the

  • 7. Charity Charity Among the key concepts of love touched upon by C.S. Lewis in his novel The Four Loves, is his concept of charity. Charity is a type of love that involves showing care for someone that is not easily loved, while doing it in a selfless manner with no gain for the caregiver. From the story of creation in Genesis we are told that mankind is made in God s image. Through the act of God sacrificing His son Jesus for our iniquity, we see that he is charitable. Therefore, transitively, mankind is created naturally for charity. This is important to note because it shows that regardless of belief in God, anyone can be charitable. Our understanding of charity can be wrapped up nicely by Lewis on pages 128 and 129 of his book by the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lieutenant, though unknowingly, offers money to the whiskey priest because he had no money to his name. This shows us an important fact that even people who are not close to God have the natural ability to show charity towards people: He put his hand suddenly in his pocket and pulled out a five peso piece. There, he said. Get out of here, and don t let me see your face again, Mind that. (P amp;G, 140) An even more profound moment of charity with the lieutenant comes later when he actually gets to know the whiskey priest personally. He talks about how if a person was in deep pain or suffering he would do him a favor by shooting him and ending his misery. This moment doesn t even seem charitable until later when the whiskey priest is executed. After being shot by the firing squad, the lieutenant shoots him in the head so he doesn t die a slow painful death: ...if he was in pain, with cancer, I d put a bullet through his head. (P amp;G, Page 200) Then there was a single shot, and opening them again he saw the officer stuffing his gun back into his holster. (P amp;G, 216) During the point of the whiskey priest s execution we get to see one more person start to form charitable thoughts. Mr. Tench looks out the window and sees that he recognizes the whiskey priest as the same man who left his house in order to tend to the

  • 9. Essay on Intrinsic versus Extrinsic Motivation Intrinsic versus Extrinsic Motivation Introduction The success of any business depends on the productivity and satisfaction of its employees. Employees need to be motivated to work. Motivation can be defined as the inner force that drives individuals to accomplish personal and organizational goals. Motivation can be either intrinsic or extrinsic. For an individual to be motivated in a work situation there must be a need, which the individual would have to perceive a possibility of satisfying through some reward. Intrinsic motivation stems from motivations that are inherent and arise from performing the task of the job itself, which the individual gets a feeling of either positive or negative motivation as a result of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those that are intrinsically motivated have a bit of advantages over workers who are more predominantly extrinsically motivated. For instance, intrinsically motivated people work on job tasks because they find them enjoyable and interesting. Additionally, there is evidence showing that intrinsic motivation is positively correlated with learning, achievement, perception of competence and self efficacy. At the same time, it is negatively correlated with anxiety, depression, and frustration. An intrinsically motivated individual will be committed to his or her work to the extent to which the job inherently contains tasks that are inherently rewarding to him or her (Lei, 2010). Drawbacks of Intrinsic Motivation Although intrinsic motivation has numerous benefits, few drawbacks of intrinsic motivation should also be considered as well. An intense form of intrinsic motivation can reach to the point that employees can completely lose track of time and space, completely ignore authority and other important tasks, as well as not having enough time to learn or perform other essential tasks while learning and enjoying a particular academic activity. When performing an enjoyable task, a person can lose track of space or self awareness. Individuals motivated by intrinsic gratification seek an experience for itself, rather than for anticipated rewards. The process is considerably more important to them than the resulting product or outcome, which has them working often

An Example Of The Cocktail Party And Inattentional Blindness We think important objects and events in our world will automatically grab our attention, but they often don t, particularly when our attention is focused on something else. Cocktail Party Effect describes the ability to focus your hearing on one specific thing even though noise is all around you. It is named such because this occurs when you are at a party you can focus on the conversation you are having with the person close to you and can ignore all the other noise and conversation going on around you. Your brain helps you selectively focus on the person you are talking too and mutes the other conversation, music, and general noise around you. Whereas, the failure to notice unexpected objects or events when attentionis focused elsewhere is now known as inattentional blindness. The interface between attention and consciousness are examples of the Cocktail party and Inattentional blindness. Per the website, Psychology.wikia, the cocktail party effectis an example of selective attention and is the phenomenon of being able to focus one s auditory attention on a stimulus while filtering out a range of other stimuli, much the same way that a partygoer can focus on a single conversation in a noisy room. This effect is what allows most people to tune in to a single voice and tune out all others. It may also describe a similar phenomenon that occurs when one may immediately detect words of importance originating from unattended stimuli, for instance hearing one s name in

Not only is this epic building filled with problems and innovative solutions but it s a place where people come to work and remember what occurred in this same area. This was a challenge for architect David Childs, the founder and architect of this building. He said: They knew that this building would have all eyes on it, and they needed new technical advances that set path for other buildings in the future. This means that whoever is in control of the youth will control what is going to happen, because the youth are the future. Anthem by Ayn Rand demonstrates that Dictators are all powerful and will do anything to keep that power. Dictatorial leaders have multiple reasons for separating children from their parents and family. Some reasons may include if they are taken from their families young they won t remember their life with their families and won t try and break the rules to find them. Another reason children may be taken from their families is to make sure that the parents and relatives do not tell them things that the leader does not want them to believe. A final reason that the dictatorwould take a child from their family is to keep them from becoming more advanced than they want them to. There are many other reasons why dictators may do this which will be explained. Children taken from their parents at young ages do not remember who their parents are or what they looked. Dictators take the children at that age for the very reason that the kids will not want to look for their parents because the child does not know what his or her parents look like. An event similar to that happened in Anthem whenever the kids would be taken from the mother after they were born and were sent to his or her first home until they would be old enough to start school. When people think of professional basketball players, the first word that usually comes to mind is tall. However, that is not always the case. Both Kevin and Lebron developed the skills of being big men, and once it was perfected, they developed the insane art or shooting. These skills are passing, shooting, and dribbling. Guards are the most lethal players in all of the basketball leagues in my opinion. Stats

The membrane keeps the cell contents in and other substances out. WHAT IS FINANCE? Finance, similarly to accounting, assists people with their decision making. The difference being that finance focuses mostly on the way a business entity raises and invests funds. According to an extract from the University of North Carolina Wilmington titled, What is Finance? , finance incorporates the study of money and other assets, the management of those assets and being able to profile and manage project risks . In this way, it is clear to see how accounting and finance are linked because without accounting information, none of the above incorporations would be possible. Finance can be divided into three categories: public, personal and corporate finance. пѓ Public finance is the study of the role of the government in the economy and how resources are allocated (Atkinson and Stiglitz. 1980) пѓ Corporate finance is the area of finance which dealt with the way a business sourced funds and used them to increase the overall value of the business. пѓ Personal finance is simply the finance that an individual deals with taking into considerations risks and future events. Islamic State West Africa Province Essay Islamic State West Africa Province, Group of the People of Sunnah for Preaching and Jihad, Boko Haram; known by many names, the terror organization that has plagued Northern Nigeria since the mid 2000s remains a threat to stability in Western Africa. Boko Haram was classified by the Global Terrorism Index as the deadliest terror organization of 2015; inflicting 6644 deaths, 77% civilians, this terror group is in fact on the decline due to infighting, coalition military strikes and a seeming lack of strategy, save for assaults on civilians and some infrastructure. Such a lack of strategy through which to attain their end goal of a fundamentalist Sharia state in Nigeriahas led to the group s decline. A new strategy is critical if it were to make a resurgence to prominence in northern Nigeria. Should a strategically enlightened leader take the reins of Boko Haram, his first priority would be to end the hostilities between competing factions by any means necessary. He would afterwards find it necessary to integrate and garner support for his cause amongst the general population, rendering the two entirely necessary to mutual survival. The next priority would be to divide and cripple Nigerian armed forces through attacks on soft targets to degrade morale and possibly open negotiations for some kind of resolution. Failing that, calling on support from other fundamentalist organizations and countries would no doubt add to the fighting capacity and legitimacy of Boko Haram, thus

She pleads with Antigone to let her die alongside her, however, Antigone did not want her sister to take any blame in something she had nothing to do with, so she disregarded her sister s pleas. Thus, this brought about the rise of nationalist movements. There are many reasons to why there was a development of these movements and the two main reasons for this cause was ideology as well as religion and culture. These movements were not able to adapt or change its methods to cater to the needs of the locals and causing their support to decrease in the long run. This shows that there was limited growth of nationalism in the movements based on religion and culture. For instance, SI was led by two factions, one by Agus Salim and the other by the radical political party led by the ISDV. In 1918, when the Dutch sensed the radicalization in the SI, many supporters withdrew their support from the party. This caused the SI to ban joined membership in SI and other communist organisations which was based on ideology. This shows that movements that are based on religion did not grow and failed to become more radicalized which was essential for the growth of nationalism especially where colonial rule was suppressive. Thus, from here it shows that religion does not play a significant role in the growth of nationalist movements as compared to ideology. Ideology on the other hand was more broad and more all encompassed than religion and culture. This helped garner more support in the long run and also led to the growth of national movement despite suppression from colonial powers. These movements are also able to manipulate situations of hardships to their advantage such as the Great Depression and its detrimental effects of the locals. Movements based on ideologies are more flexible and are able to maneuver its methods to suit the needs of their people and also deter suppression
