This document discusses the growth of online and virtual education, especially for K-12 students. It notes that over 1 million K-12 students in the US learn online, and 20% of college students take an online course. Most states now offer some form of online option. Research shows that online students generally perform as well or better than face-to-face students. Idaho in particular has over 14,000 K-12 students enrolled in full-time online schools or online courses.
