Meeting the Needs of Digital Learners: Learner Support Patterns and Strategies
The document discusses research on meeting the needs of digital learners through learner support patterns and strategies. A study was conducted of students at two distance universities to determine their academic and technological support needs when using multiple devices for learning. The results showed that students most commonly use smartphones and laptops and access an average of three devices. However, most education does not currently take into account students' use of different devices. The document recommends universities rethink their teaching and support to better address students' diverse technology use.
Digital transformation at RAU
The document outlines RAU's digital transformation work including developing a digital strategy, improving their virtual learning environment Gateway, launching a new student portal called myRAU, and establishing online resource lists. The digital strategy will improve the student experience, enhance learning and teaching with technology, strengthen the student voice, and design for inclusion. Gateway, myRAU and the resource lists are currently being tested and will launch in September. Future work includes changes to Turnitin, data dashboards, virtual reality resources, and building staff digital capabilities.

Blackboard Analytics for Learn: A recipe for success
So much of the current discussion around Learning Analytics seems to be caught up in the realm of Big Data that informs the top executives and decision makers who are shaping institution-wide strategies. While these kinds of topics need to be explored, truly significant and transformative uses of learning analytics can be had at the grassroots level of the teacher and student.
This session will look at how Edith Cowan University is using Blackboard Analytics for Learn to empower staff and students with their own data, allowing them to make informed and timely decisions in their own teaching and learning journeys.
We will explore how learning analytics data enables staff to do things like identify and support students at risk of disengaging from the course early, monitor how students are actually engaging in their course and collect real evidence on student interactions that informs a continual process of improvement in learning design and resources.

Affordances and acceptance
The rapid and continuous changes in technology place lecturers using web 2.0 and web 3.0 technologies in their online courses in a predicament. The question uppermost is how to determine which tool will suit the circumstance of the students and lecturers and the teaching model adopted by the institution the best. This is an important question because every lecturer adopting technology as part of their teaching strategy is confronted with the question whether the tool they are using will enhance their pedagogy, incorporate different learning strategies and ultimately improve the performance outcomes of the entire qualification. Incorporating technology into teaching for the mere purpose of using technology, without considering the pedagogical implications, will cause a lot more harm than good.
The research reported on in this paper relates to providing an initial quantitative perspective on the use of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) tools towards effective teaching and meaningful learning of Computer Programming in an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) context. More specifically, the main research question addressed in this paper relates to the use of specific VLE tools by first year programming students and their effectiveness towards teaching and meaningful learning.

This document discusses a blended e-learning project in New Zealand schools. It defines blended e-learning and outlines an e-learning planning framework that measures schools' e-learning capabilities. Current trends in online delivery and assessment in ANZ
Based on data form a range of ACODE Surveys over the last 12 months, and other industry data, there have been some distinct trends emerge that suggest that institutions are taking a fresh look at how they conduct teaching and assessment, longer term. Much of this has been predicated on what was necessary to deal with lock-down situations due to COVID-19, but more recently this has allowed institutions to consider the longer-term advantages in accommodating different forms of assessment, those that have traditionally fallen out of what was considered ‘normal’, most notably the ‘exam’. This shift in thinking has also extended to what institutions considering different forms of delivery of their core content, with there being a distinct shift away from what has been the mainstay for centuries, the ‘Lecture’. This shift has allowed for more authentic forms of delivery, ones based in more collaborative and active approaches. This presentation with provide a summary of some of the key data and share some examples of how some institutions are approaching the next few years, as uncertainty around the short-term future of in-person learning and teaching persists.

Learning analytics has the potential to provide data on elements of the teaching process which have to date been difficult to measure particularly for the broader cohort of teachers.
This presentation will draw attention to the connection between SoTL and learning analytics and prompt participants to think about how learning analytics can be used in a wider context to contribute to changes in teaching design and practice.

Our digital ecologies are changing because the way we are wanting to teach and examine is changing. Moving forward, we see L&T using new and more engaging forms of technology, designed to help our students not just learn disciplinary skills, but to find new ways of engaging with their peers. Improvement is a deliberate act that involves planning and execution. We need to find the new tools and techniques to help us with our teaching. We will look at some possible affordances you can enjoy when you are ready to pause and take stock.
Cohort 2 Schools Orientation to Next Steps NH
The Next Steps NH Project is a 5-year project funded by the US Department of Education to improve transition planning and outcomes for students with disabilities in New Hampshire high schools. The project aims to increase opportunities such as extended learning and family engagement to help more students graduate ready for college, careers, and independent living. Key strategies include enhancing transition planning, increasing real-world learning experiences, strengthening family-school partnerships, and developing regional support networks for schools. The project implements a framework to guide schools through stages of exploring, installing, and fully implementing evidence-based transition practices.
Ensuring quality in blended and online: D2L Fusion
The UWM Learning Technology Center provides faculty development programs to help instructors design effective online and blended courses. These programs teach pedagogical strategies through blended formats and experiences. To evaluate quality, UWM uses peer and student evaluations, certification programs, and communicating results to stakeholders. The goal is to foster innovation while maintaining high standards in course design and delivery.

DREAM 2017 | Faculty as Drivers of College Reform Efforts
Three of Achieving the Dream’s funded learning initiatives – the Open Education Resources Degree Initiative, Engaging Adjunct Faculty Initiative, and InSpark Network-- are creating faculty led teams to drive curriculum and pedagogy reform and to engage a wider swath of faculty – both full and part time, in institution wide reform efforts.

Therefore we have had to find new tools to help us with these new tasks. But the reasons to engage with these new tools needs to be based on sound pedagogical foundations.Developing a Technology Rich Teacher Education Program
The University of La Verne used multiple sources of data to redesign its liberal studies teacher education program to better integrate technology. Data from student and faculty surveys informed changes to course content and delivery, including increasing the use of mobile technologies, online resources, and blended learning. Courses were redesigned over three years to align assessments with learning outcomes, develop online materials like interactive eBooks, and require skills like video creation. Faculty development introduced skills like screencasting and supported consistent technology integration. The redesign aimed to improve student and instructor technology literacy for teaching.

Designing Exemplary Online Courses in Blackboard
During this presentation by Jason Rhode at the 12th annual SLATE Conference on 10/23/14, we explored suggested best practices included in the Blackboard Exemplary Course Program Rubric for designing engaging online courses. Jason shared practical tips from his experience building a course in Blackboard that meets the established ECP quality benchmarks. We also covered the steps and associated deadlines for faculty interested in submitting their course for consideration as a Blackboard Exemplary Course. This session was geared toward an audience already familiar with the basic online teaching tools available in Blackboard Learn. While the examples shared were specifically of courses in Blackboard, the principles can be applied to developing quality online courses in any learning management system. population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and

Rationale (HLC) • Development and ownership of plans for online learning extend beyond administrators directly responsible for it and programs directly using it. • Institution’s faculty have designated role in design and implementation of its online learning offerings. • Faculty members engaged in on-line learning share in the mission and goals of the institution and its programs and are provided the opportunities to contribute to the broader activities of the institution.
