A disease is a disorder that affects the structure or function of an organism, producing specific symptoms. Diseases can be acute or chronic, communicable or non-communicable. Viruses cause diseases like influenza, rabies, polio, and AIDS. Bacteria cause diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, typhoid, and peptic ulcers. Diseases can be prevented through awareness, hygiene, sanitation, vaccination, immunization, and a good diet.
