Matthew Vaughn is a British film director and producer born in London. He began his career in film by working as an assistant director in Los Angeles. At age 25, he produced his first film and went on to produce additional critically and financially successful films. Vaughn made his directorial debut in 2004 with Layer Cake. His most recent films as director include X-Men: First Class (2011) and Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), both of which were action blockbusters. Vaughn is known for directing thrillers and action films and using innovative camerawork and special effects to enhance action sequences.
