- 1. DII Front Cover Third Draft
- 2. •The colour scheme I have chosen is blue and orange. I like these colours together because although they clash, I think that they almost compliment each other. The orange will be the main colour I’m using and the blue will be the splash colour, used sparingly to really draw the reader in. I previously stated that I was thinking of using the below colour scheme, however I thought that black would make the orange and blue more visible and although it is not conventional to have a mainly black background, I think that it will work well. •I have now changed the font to ‘Segoe UI’. I like the way this font looks and the ‘Arial Unicode MS’ seemed boring to me. •This is the new masthead •The list of ‘Indie’ bands I incorporating the new colour have now changed into blue scheme and font. I like how and it stands out a lot clearer the colours go together, against the new image. (The although I will have to red underlining is spell consider that I am using the check, these band names blue as a splash colour. are spelt right)
- 3. •I have changed my main image from the one on the left to the one on the right. I think the image of Collette smiling and looking happy portrays a better cleaner image. The image quality is also so much cleaner and better, even though they were taken with the same camera. I took the images from different angles but whilst working on the first two drafts of my magazine front cover I realised that most magazines use eye level medium close up and that is what the second image is. •The newly coloured skyline would be very eye catching and interest readers, this colour is different however to the colour scheme and so I will need to change it. •The quote is still too long because I have forgotten to change it. However I think that the colour scheme is working brilliantly well.
- 4. •The orange makes the name almost pop out the cover. I tried it in bold and I much prefer the way that it fits in with the front cover, complimenting my house style so I will incorporate this within my next draft. •The second image also has a lot more space for text and images and anchorage texts etc. I think it is a lot more facilitating for a front cover image and the east of what text can fit onto the photo without disturbing it or taking the focus away makes it much easier to use and indeed look at. I have used the word ‘Media’ to visually demonstrate the amount of capacity each photo has.
- 5. To change: •Masthead – I currently like the mast head and the colouring of it, I feel that to increase my marks and indeed to fit in with magazine conventions, I need to make it stand out more, to be more appealing and exciting. DII DII DII DII DII •Spaces- There are empty spaces in the columns of the side, these need to be filled to fit in the conventions. •Colours- even though I like the colour scheme, I think that with the new main image things are too light and it needs some darker colours to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
