We've known for years that data-driven content was a 'thing' when we'd produce simple infographics that shared a few statistics and they'd get easy traction for us online. The game has lifted and consumers are becoming more and more obsessed with data and are now demanding higher quality and more complex data-driven content. The challenge for us now as "T-Shaped" marketers is that there are increasing demands for us to learn new skills to produce this content but we don't have the time to do this amongst the other things we need to be expert at.
This presentation is going to give you specific help on how to produce data-driven content without any programming skill. After watching this presentation you'll have the confidence to build your own data-driven content with the knowledge of:
- blueprints for data-driven content ideas
- scraping tools, frameworks and methodologies
- how to brief in a data scraping project to your in-house team or a freelancer
- how to turn your data into visually appealing content
- channels for promoting data-driven content to ensure it gets traction

Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) provide an app-like user experience on the web by making use of modern web capabilities. PWAs use a web app manifest and service workers to work offline, receive push notifications, and load quickly. The web app manifest allows developers to define how the app should appear to users, while service workers cache assets to provide an app-shell experience regardless of network availability. Tools like sw-precache and sw-toolbox help generate service worker code and implement common caching strategies. By following best practices for manifests, service workers, and other features, web apps can achieve many of the benefits of native mobile apps without needing to be installed from an app store.

(can be free- or self-hosted)
Putting a site online -
which options are available?
Why do you need to know?
✓ you are responsible for your own data. Knowing how to
backup your site (content/setup/design) is vital.
✓ keep an eye on ownership. Knowing whether your uploaded
content remains your own is important.

34. DIGITAL PRACTICESOptions & considerations
Putting a site online -
which options are available?
a) static, self-hosted website
— webpages created as standalone, containing all data and media
— design and content interlinked
— all files fully functioning independently and uploaded on server
b) free-hosted website
— website part of a bigger setup, shared server and settings
— often no direct access to files
— settings and data protection by third party
c) CMS [content management system] driven setup
(can be free- or self-hosted)
— content and design kept separated: content in database, design as theme
— more flexibility in updating content structure and design
— backups involve database, design and settings
