Real world examples (no. 1)
• Students were all set a
challenging task with little
structure
• Most students got some support
via teacher dialogue in small
groups
• Many students were given a
sheet that broke the task down
into smaller steps. It could also
have been a writing frame,
outline plan, structured question
or hints

• All students had a recap of
calculating uncertainty
• Confident students the started a
high demand activity using these
skills (a past paper)
• Less confident students
completed some simpler
structure tasks that I had created
before attempting the past
paper. We the went through
these with mini white boards
