Acute Angle
• Any angle that measures greater than 0° and
less than 90° is called an acute angle.
• Acute angles measure less than 90°
• Therefore, 67°, 45°, 23°, 52°, 86°, 14° are all
examples of acute angles.
Real Life Examples of Acute Angle
• If we slice a pizza into 5 or more slices,
each slice of pizza will make an acute
angle.
• The arms of a wall clock make acute angles
at several hours of the day. For example, 10
o’clock.
Obtuse Angle
• An obtuse angle is a type of angle that is
always larger than 90° but less than
180°. In other words, it lies between 90°
and 180°.
• In the given figure, XYZ shows an
∠
obtuse angle.
Real Life Examples of Obtuse Angle
• The angle formed by the screen of an
open laptop
• Recliners are commonly seen in movie
theatres, homes, and other places have
a special feature of the backrest of it
going back to help you relax and
unwind.
Right Angle
• Any angle whose measure is equal to 90°
is a right angle. In the given figure,
AOB shows a right angle
∠ .
Real Life Examples of Right Angle
• Sailing boats frequently have sails in the
right triangle design. The sails help to
maneuver the boats easily through action
and reaction.
• A ladder inclined to the wall makes a
triangle with ground and wall. The angle
between the ground and the wall is a right
angle. The ladder is the hypotenuse of this
right-angled structure
Straight Angle
• In geometry, a straight angle is defined
as an angle that is equal to 180 degrees.
The reason it is called a straight angle is
because it appears as a straight line.
Real Life Examples of Straight Angle
• Wall clock is the best example of a straight
angle. For example, 6 o’clock.
• If we see a pencil, then we will see it will
make a straight angle example.
Complete Angle
• A complete angle is defined as an angle
that measures exactly 360°. It thus
indicates a complete turn or rotation
around a point.
• Also known as ‘full angle’ it is
represented using the symbol 2π (where
π is a pie).
Real Life Examples of Complete Angle
• An angle made by the Bangle at the
centre measures a complete angle.
• An angle made by the coin measures
a complete angle.
