Diction is the way to use words to form sentences, either orally or
in writing. There is talk of good diction when the use of these
words is correct and correct in the language to which they belong,
without paying attention to the content or meaning of what is
expressed by the issuer.
The word diction comes from the Latin dictio, -nem, 'way of
speaking'.
When speaking and - above all - when singing, it is essential to avoid
the vices or defects of diction.
The placement of the voice consists in producing it correctly, taking
into account the breathing, the correct placement of the diaphragm,
the position of the lips, the joint and, of course, the diction
They are an employment of inappropriate grammatical constructions
or expressions that generate an incorrect interpretation. It
intervenes in diction and vocabulary, because it understands all the
elements that modify the daily flow of communication. There are
about 25 vices of diction, here are a few:
Vulgarism
Barbarism
Cacophonic Hiatus
Solecism
Dequeism
Cacophony
Monotony
Amphibology
Cosism
Ultracorrection or Hypercorrection.
