Project & Portfolio I: Week 1
June 08, 2023
I grew up in a rural area surrounded by woods and nature, using
my imagination and observational skills as I explored my
surroundings as a child. I graduated from a small town high
school and went to Eastern Michigan University for my
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Media and Film Studies,
exploring my creativity through the media. From there, I
enlisted in the Air Force, working as an aircraft fuel systems
mechanic, which helped develop my discipline and attention to
detail. While in the Air Force, I discovered my passion for using
experiential aides in the learning process. After leaving, I got
my second Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Animation, giving
me the technical skills and know-how to develop my ideas in the
digital world. I value honesty, autonomy, and integrity as I work
toward bringing my dream of self-lead, experience-based
learning to the world.

‣Upload 2 completed and complex 3d artworks that show
my skills to my Artstation portfolio within 3 months of
graduation.
Mid Term: (2025)
• Develop models for augmented reality concept
‣Complete and begin selling augmented reality models for
my own business. I plan to have 5 complete sets of
models for my initial sales, starting 2 years after
graduation.
Long Term: (2033)
• Start to expand the business into virtual reality concepts
‣Develop a platform and program to allow the 3d models
to be imported into. At this point, 10 years from
graduation, I plan to have 3 complete sets of interactive
exploration models completed.

You know how people have different styles of learning that fit their individual habits and
backgrounds? Well, what I do is create 3d assets that help people learn in multiple ways,
while letting them experience the content in a personal way that solidifies the knowledge. In
fact, I have been developing 3d models that people can use to learn to identify plants and
fungus in the field by comparing the specimen to a 3d model with specific traits to look for.

  • 2. I grew up in a rural area surrounded by woods and nature, using my imagination and observational skills as I explored my surroundings as a child. I graduated from a small town high school and went to Eastern Michigan University for my Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Media and Film Studies, exploring my creativity through the media. From there, I enlisted in the Air Force, working as an aircraft fuel systems mechanic, which helped develop my discipline and attention to detail. While in the Air Force, I discovered my passion for using experiential aides in the learning process. After leaving, I got my second Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Animation, giving me the technical skills and know-how to develop my ideas in the digital world. GOALS Short Term: (Immediately After Graduation, 2023) • Add 2 pieces of art to my portfolio ‣Upload 2 completed and complex 3d artworks that show my skills to my Artstation portfolio within 3 months of graduation. Mid Term: (2025) • Develop models for augmented reality concept ‣Complete and begin selling augmented reality models for my own business. I plan to have 5 complete sets of models for my initial sales, starting 2 years after graduation. Long Term: (2033) • Start to expand the business into virtual reality concepts ‣Develop a platform and program to allow the 3d models to be imported into. At this point, 10 years from graduation, I plan to have 3 complete sets of interactive exploration models completed.

  • 14. Brian DeYoung You know how people have different styles of learning that fit their individual habits and backgrounds? Well, what I do is create 3d assets that help people learn in multiple ways, while letting them experience the content in a personal way that solidifies the knowledge. In fact, I have been developing 3d models that people can use to learn to identify plants and fungus in the field by comparing the specimen to a 3d model with specific traits to look for.
