Customer Journey Analytics: Cracking the Patient Engagement Challenge for PayersHealth Catalyst
Customer journey analytics uses machine learning and big data to track and analyze when and through what channels customers interact with an organization, with an aim to influence behavior (e.g., buying behaviors among retail customers). Similarly, healthcare organizations want to influence health-related behaviors, such a taking medication as prescribed and not smoking, to improve outcomes and lower the cost of care. In a partnership with an analytics services provider, a payer organization is leveraging customer journey analytics among healthcare consumers to identify the best opportunities and channels for patient outreach. With this analytics-driven engagement strategy, the payer has found an opportunity to significantly improve patient engagement—a predicted overall increase from 18 percent to 31 percent.

Getting a medical device to the patient takes more than good technology in today's environment. Compelling evidence and convincing value proposition matter. Competing priorities and differing stakeholder definitions of value are driving the need for creative, connected strategies to get the most from each step in the development process. And - as evidence is gathered - it should be used to inform and iterate regulatory, reimbursement and clinical post-market strategies.
With a focus on providing high-quality, lower-cost care, the healthcare industry has been looking to the retail industry for strategies used to engage and empower consumers. Lessons learned include how to use the retail setting as a medium for providing care and how to engage consumers outside of the care setting by using technology.
What is often neglected when assessing retail industry tactics is their core competency of using data insights to motivate and incentivize changes in consumer behavior. Connected Health solutions provide streams of valuable information that can be mined and analyzed to achieve business objectives.
Perficient's healthcare and retail experts demonstrated how data can be leveraged to:
-Transform passive recipients of care into active participants in care
-Mass customize messaging aligned with population health initiatives
-Achieve outreach objectives that convert unknown consumers into patients/members
-Improve care and lower healthcare costs

All patients are different, and data collected during product development or Randomised Clinical Trials (RCT) does not always paint the full picture of everyday patients. RWE insights complement the manufacturing process and RCT findings, adding more value and providing real-world impact. While together data from the manufacturing process and RWD paint a fuller picture.
Due to the limitations of the study design, data from the manufacturing process and RCTs are inadequate for demonstrating an intervention’s long-term safety and effectiveness. Moreover, it is possible to compare multiple product or interventions in RWE.

Antibiotic Stewardship by Anushri Srivastava.pptxAnushriSrivastav
Stewardship is the act of taking good care of something.
Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms.
WHO launched the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) in 2015 to fill knowledge gaps and inform strategies at all levels.
ACCORDING TO apic.org,
Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms.
ACCORDING TO pewtrusts.org,
Antibiotic stewardship refers to efforts in doctors’ offices, hospitals, long term care facilities, and other health care settings to ensure that antibiotics are used only when necessary and appropriate
According to WHO,
Antimicrobial stewardship is a systematic approach to educate and support health care professionals to follow evidence-based guidelines for prescribing and administering antimicrobials
In 1996, John McGowan and Dale Gerding first applied the term antimicrobial stewardship, where they suggested a causal association between antimicrobial agent use and resistance. They also focused on the urgency of large-scale controlled trials of antimicrobial-use regulation employing sophisticated epidemiologic methods, molecular typing, and precise resistance mechanism analysis.
Antimicrobial Stewardship(AMS) refers to the optimal selection, dosing, and duration of antimicrobial treatment resulting in the best clinical outcome with minimal side effects to the patients and minimal impact on subsequent resistance.
According to the 2019 report, in the US, more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur each year, and more than 35000 people die. In addition to this, it also mentioned that 223,900 cases of Clostridoides difficile occurred in 2017, of which 12800 people died. The report did not include viruses or parasites
