Why does this service not exist, engagement, not communicated well to the community: language or technology barrier Place? Underpopulated but a high need for mobility services exist, overpopulated but the market is not meeting the need of the residents, how can this program excel in this locale, can it be replicated in other jusrisdictions
- Is the municipal government involved in the development of the program? Are they a communications partner? CBO’s and filling the gap while creating new partnerships and relationships that will outlast the program Advocacy orgs: NRDC, FORTH: having the capacity and expertise with aligning the right partners for a stellar application Ameren’s commitment to “Power the Quality of Life” Common mission and values that build a stronger knit community Incentives that have excellent timing: EVSE incentive programs, State transportation electrification programs: Department of Natural Resources, etc. US DOE grants that align with current local conditions and expectations. Vetting the application with National Labs that deliver services and products in line with the grant being applied for.
- With the complexity of the number of stakeholders involved how can you keep the program on time? Plus, how do you do it in the middle of a pandemic? How do we accommodate transportation providers with altered services due to health restrictions? We focus on the mission and the end services provided. i.e. Northside Youth and Senior Service Center delivered 165,000 meals in 2020 during the pandemic this was over a 30% increase over 2019. Have we fund raised enough to ensure that the program can run itself given the obstacles that will present themselves over time? Yes, communication along with programmatic infrastructure is the key. Finally, when the program sunsets, have we developed the tools necessary to hand over the keys to the CBO’s and have those relationships built through the program continue. Lastly, the goal here is to provide vital mobility services to underserved communities where the need exists. We are in the business of mobility that increases the quality of life by reducing cost of operations for the transportation providers, reducing vehicle emissions on site and in the neighborhood, and proving that this program can be replicated across the country.
