Constructing ontologies from relational databases is an active research topic in the Semantic Web domain.
While conceptual mapping rules/principles of relational databases and ontology structures are being
proposed, several software modules or plug-ins are being developed to enable the automatic conversion of
relational databases into ontologies. However, the correlation between the resulting ontologies built
automatically with plug-ins from relational databases and the database-toontology mapping principles has
been given little attention. This study reviews and applies two Protégé plug-ins, namely, DataMaster and
OntoBase to automatically construct ontologies from a relational database. The resulting ontologies are
further analysed to match their structures against the database-to-ontology mapping principles. A

The LODE-BD Recommendations present a reference tool that assist bibliographic data providers in selecting appropriate encoding strategies according to their needs in order to facilitate metadata exchange by, for example, constructing crosswalks between their local data formats and widely-used formats or even with a Linked Data representation. The LODE-BD Recommendations aim to address two questions: how to encode bibliographic data hosted by diverse open repositories for the purpose of exchanging data across data providers; and how to encode these data as Linked Open Data (LOD) - enabled bibliographic data.
The core component of the LODE-BD Recommendations report contains a set of recommended decision-making trees for common properties used in describing a bibliographic resource instance (article, monograph, thesis, conference paper, presentation material, research report, learning object, etc. - in print or electronic format). Each decision tree is delivered with various acting points and the matching encoding suggestions, usually with multiple options.

Web of Data as a Solution for Interoperability. Case StudiesSabin Buraga
The paper draws several considerations regarding the use of Web of Data (Semantic Web) technologies – such as metadata vocabularies and ontological constructs – to increase the degree of interoperability within distributed systems. A number of case studies are presenting to express the knowledge in a
platform- and programming language-independent manner.
Information residing in relational databases and delimited file systems are inadequate for reuse and sharing over the web. These file systems do not adhere to commonly set principles for maintaining data harmony. Due to these reasons, the resources have been suffering from lack of uniformity, heterogeneity as well as redundancy throughout the web. Ontologies have been widely used for solving such type of problems, as they help in extracting knowledge out of any information system. In this article, we focus on extracting concepts and their relations from a set of CSV files. These files are served as individual concepts and grouped into a particular domain, called the domain ontology. Furthermore, this domain ontology is used for capturing CSV data and represented in RDF format retaining links among files or concepts. Datatype and object properties are automatically detected from header fields. This reduces the task of user involvement in generating mapping files. The detail analysis has been performed on Baseball tabular data and the result shows a rich set of semantic information.
An approach for transforming of relational databases to owl ontologyIJwest
Rapid growth of documents, web pages, and other types of text content is a huge challenge for the modern content management systems. One of the problems in the areas of information storage and retrieval is the lacking of semantic data. Ontologies can present knowledge in sharable and repeatedly usable manner and provide an effective way to reduce the data volume overhead by encoding the structure of a particular domain. Metadata in relational databases can be used to extract ontology from database in a special domain. According to solve the problem of sharing and reusing of data, approaches based on transforming relational database to ontology are proposed. In this paper we propose a method for automatic ontology construction based on relational database. Mining and obtaining further components from relational database leads to obtain knowledge with high semantic power and more expressiveness. Triggers are one of the database components which could be transformed to the ontology model and increase the amount of power and expressiveness of knowledge by presenting part of the knowledge dynamically.

TRANSFORMATION RULES FOR BUILDING OWL ONTOLOGIES FROM RELATIONAL DATABASEScscpconf
Relational Databases (RDB) are used as the backend database by most of information systems. RDB encapsulate conceptual model and metadata needed in the ontology construction. Schema mapping is a technique that is used by all existing approaches for ontology building from RDB.However, most of those methods use poor transformation rules that prevent advanced database mining for building rich ontologies. In this paper, we propose transformation rules for building owl ontologies from RDBs. It allows transforming all possible cases in RDBs into ontological constructs. The proposed rules are enriched by analyzing stored data to detect disjointness and
totalness constraints in hierarchies, and calculating the participation level of tables in n-ary relations. In addition, our technique is generic; hence it can be applied to any RDB. The
proposed rules were evaluated using a normalized and open RDB. The obtained ontology is richer in terms of non- taxonomic relationships.
A SEMANTIC BASED APPROACH FOR KNOWLEDGE DISCOVERY AND ACQUISITION FROM MULTIP...cscpconf
The data from internet are dispersed in multiple documents or web pag-es. Most of them are not properly structured and organized. It becomes necessary to organize these contents in order to improve the search results by increasing the relevancy. The semantic web technologies and ontologies play a vital role in in-formation extraction and new knowledge discovery from the web documents. This paper suggests a model for storing the web content in an organized and structured manner in RDF format. The information extraction techniques and the ontologies developed for the domain together discovers new knowledge. The paper also proves that the
time taken for inferring the new knowledge is also minimal compared to manual effort when semantic web technologies are used while developing the applications.

Expression of Query in XML object-oriented databaseEditor IJCATR
Upon invent of object-oriented database, the concept of behavior in database was propounded. Before, relational database
only provided a logical modeling of data and paid no attention to the operations applied on data in the system. In this paper, a method
is presented for query of object-oriented database. This method has appropriate results when the user explains restrictions in a
combinational matter (disjunctive and conjunctive) and assumes a weight for each one of restrictions based on their importance. Later,
the obtained results are sorted based on their belonging rate to the response set. In continue, queries are explained using XML labels.
The purpose is simplifying queries and objects resulted from queries to be very close to the user need and meet his expectation.

Discovering Resume Information using linked data dannyijwest
In spite of having different web applications to create and collect resumes, these web applications suffer
mainly from a common standard data model, data sharing, and data reusing. Though, different web
applications provide same quality of resume information, but internally there are many differences in terms
of data structure and storage which makes computer difficult to process and analyse the information from
different sources. The concept of Linked Data has enabled the web to share data among different data
sources and to discover any kind of information while resolving the issues like heterogeneity,
interoperability, and data reusing between different data sources and allowing machine process-able data
on the web.
Student POST Database processing models showcase the logical s.docxorlandov3
Student POST:
Database processing models showcase the logical structure of a database. The most commonly used model is the Relational database model that sorts the data in a table that consist of rows and columns. The column holds the attributes of the entity and rows hold the data of a particular instance of the entities. The major advantage of the Relational model is that it is in the table form and hence easier for users to understand, manage and work with the data. And, with the primary key and foreign key concepts, the data can be uniquely identified, stored in different entities and retrieved effectively with the relationships. The other advantage is that with the relational model, SQL language can be used to work with the data which is simple to understand and most widely used. The disadvantage of relational model could be the financial cost that is higher in comparison as the specific software needs to be in place and the regular maintenance needs to be performed that requires highly skilled manpower. And, the complexity of the database can be further increased when the volume of the data keep in increasing. Also, there is the limitation in the length of fields stored as different data types in relational model (Joseph & Paul, 2009).
The other processing model is the Object-oriented model that depicts database as the collection of objects. The advantage of this model is that it is compatible to work with complex data sets with the use of Object IDs and object-oriented programming. It’s disadvantage is that object databases are not commonly used and the complexity can hamper the performance of database. The other type of database model is the Entity-Relationship model which is mostly used for the conceptual design of database. It pictures the entities, several attributes that falls within the domain of that entity and the cardinality of relationship between them. It’s advantage is that the E-R diagram is easily understandable by the users at the first glance and thus can effectively work with the data in no time and can point out the discrepancies in the data. The other advantage is that it can be easily converted to other models if required by the business. The disadvantage of Entity-Relationship is that the industry standard notations for the diagram is not defined and thus can create confusion to the users. This model is only suitable for high-level database design (S.J.D.,2020).
2Nd Student POST :
Database models or commonly referred to as schemas help represent the structure of a database and its format which is run by a DBMS. Database model uses vary depending on user specifications.
Types of database models
1.
Network model
This network model uses a structure similar to that of a hierarchical model. The model permits multiple parents, which is a tree-like structure model. This model emphasizes two basic concepts; records and sets. Records hold file hierarchy and sets define the many-to-many relationship .

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
