Advertising Analysis Of California Almonds
Around 1950, almond farmers asked the US Department of Agriculture if they could collaborate to
improve quality and marking of their almonds. California Almonds comes from nearly 6,800 almond
farms, and over 91% of these farms are family owned. Their marketing team constantly finds and
implements new ways to reach their target audience of heathy people. One ad in the September print
of People Magazine depicts a young female smiling off in the distance in the lake on a paddle board
holding an oar, while the mountains behind her are blurred. On the side of her in large pink letters it
says, An Excellent Source of Can Do in Every Crunch. Under this it explains that Whatever you take
on, take it on with almonds, because every serving has six grams of protein to give you more than
enough energy to conquer your day whether you go to school or go paddle boarding in the mountains.
California Almonds adds emphasis on the lighting, focus, and pathos for their advertisements to stand
out to their audience while simultaneously giving a warm satisfying feeling of contentment. The
lighting manifests certain aspects of the advertisement to pop out to their viewers. The radiance of the
cloudless sky displays the small vibrant aspects of this advertisement. The sunlight shines beautifully
onto her multicolored blue ensemble. The lake water reflects the sunlight elegantly against all of the
other aspects of the advertisement. The lighting aids the green trees and the white ashy

Killer Whales Controversy
Everyone loves going to marine parks such as SeaWorld and Marineland. They offer many spectacular
shows with dolphins, sea lions and birds. However, the main attractions they offer are orcas, or as they
are better known as killer whales. Highly intelligent and with acute senses of sight and hearing, they
are apex predators. Recently, the possession of orcas has been a big topic of controversy. Many people
believe that the animals are being mistreated in captivity. Their captivity limits their freedom and
enjoyment. Many orcas suffer from poor physical and mental effects in captivity. Killer whales will
usually travel between 50 and 100 miles per day in the wild, but in captivity all they can do is swim in
circles or float for no reason. In the wild, killer whales live in pods of ... Show more content on

In 2013, a documentary about killer whales in captivity, particularly Tilikum was released to the
public. Blackfish garnered critical acclaim and people were influenced by the movie. Parks all over
the world were impacted by the film, but mainly SeaWorld. The company lost 15 million dollars in
revenue in 2014. It is out of line and corrupt to benefit from the abuse of creatures. Killer whales are
the primary fascination at numerous marine parks and, without them, attendance would drop radically.
Subsequently, these facilities need to keep participation levels high by offering shows that give
amusement and permit visitors to see the creatures very close. Orcas are enduring major physical and
mental issues because of their captivity, for example, broken teeth from chewing on steel doors, dorsal
fins breaking down from absence of work out, and indications of sadness. In any case, the shows go

Informative Speech On Birth Control
Who in here has heard of or even know what the term birth control is? According to medicinenet.com,
birth control is the use of any practices, methods, or devices to prevent pregnancy from occuring in
sexually active women. Today, I will be talking about a couple of methods of birth control which
include: the pill, the patch, and the implant. Another method I will be talking to you about isn t always
considered a form of birth control, but it actually is; condoms. My goal today is to not only inform you
of the many birth controls but to also encourage you to look at the pros and the cons of every method
if you are using contraception. Birth control is a very broad topic with many alternatives which can
impact your lifestyle in many ways, therefore you should consider these alternatives before applying
any form of contraceptive into your body and find the method that works best for you.
Not many of us know this, but birth control can be very risky when you don t know much about your
body. What most of us do know are the general benefits which include acne reduction, period
regulation, and easing menstrual cramps. A review on U.S. News World Report on August 7, 2006,
featuring Christine Larson, 31 trials and 12,579 women, looked at the the effect of birth control and
facial acne and found that some oral contraceptives were effective in reducing acne. It was also was
established that 750,000 800,000 teenage women in the U.S. experience pregnancy and that over

Contagion Ethical Issues
In the infectious disease unit, the main focal point consisted of showing the audience how the spread
of a major virus may occur in population. In this case, we were presented with two movies: Contagion
and 28 Days Later. These movies both displayed an infectious disease, which is spread through
animals causing harm to people. A scenario that presented in Contagion seemed to be realistic
possibility because a simple transmission of disease from an animal can happen. If the virus is
unknown and no vaccine is available, it could certainly cause a lot of harm to a large population of
people. Likewise, another possibility was also presented in 28 Days Later, where the viewers see
scientist talking about monkey being infected with a virus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The overall idea of testing on animals should be considered to be unethical. In terms of medical
research purposes, it is necessary to continue making progress in the medical field, especially in terms
of infectious diseases. The main ethical concern that receives the most criticism from activists and
animal welfare groups is the overall treatment of animals. As seen in the opening sequence of 28 days
later, the animal activists were trying to free the monkeys that were held in medical research lab.
According to Blakemore, In fact, animal research has contributed to 70 per cent of Nobel prizes for
physiology or medicine (Blakemore, 2008). One thing that cannot be denied is the usefulness of
animal testing in the medical field. The fact that is has made a substantial contribution in terms of
developing medicines that can be used in current times. The medical field seems that is always
expanding due to the increasing technology present in current times. However, it still appears that we
are not at that particular point in time, where animal testing can be completely phases out of medicine.
The main purpose of any medical researcher is to find a cure for genetic disorder or incurable
diseases. We need to evaluate all options in the medical field because these could help save a lot of
people s lives. Furthermore, researchers that are dedicated to their jobs are not attempting to harm the
animal in any manner. Taking that into account, the best idea would be to get their insight from animal
right organizations, so they promote a certified ethical practice of animals testing. Hence, it is a good
way to monitor the practices of animal testing in science testing labs. Throughout the process, the
animals that get tested on should be monitored health wise and retired at the end of the session of

Confusion In Lizabeth By Eugenia Collier
Throughout the story, Eugenia Collier uses the actions and words of young Lizabeth to highlight the
confusion of adolescence before and after destroying Mrs. Lottie s marigolds. Lizabeth s
bewilderment is first revealed when the young children decide to pester Miss Lottie. Lizabeth is
reluctant to gather pebbles from the dusty ground, but Joey s taunting convinces her to put aside her
newfound maturity and to descend into childishness (Collier 111). Collier is showing the reader how
the young often respond to confusion by acting out. Lizabeth doesn t know what to do, so she acts
immaturely. In addition, Collier reveals adolescence to be mysterious. After the taunting incident,
Lizabeth becomes moody and is caught between two worlds.

Can A Patient Take Medication If There Is No Medical...
Can A Patient Be Forced to Take Medication If There Is No Medical Emergency? In this case, the
patient John Rennie, a former pilot, had been in and out of mental health facilities in the state of New
Jersey since his twin brother died in 1973 in an airplane accident. Between 1973 and 1977 he had been
treated both inpatient and outpatient, numerous times, per the court record, at least 11 times. He had
been diagnosed with various mental health issues which included paranoia, schizophrenia, and manic
depression. He had even suffered from delusions and had made threats to kill the President. During the
series of treatments, Rennie would occasionally refuse to take the prescribed medication given to him
by the treatment staff. The record also indicated that during his treatment Rennie had been in frequent
fights with other patients as well as the staff, and had gone through suicidal and delusional stages. In
1977, Rennie filed a suit in the New Jersey Circuit Court, against the Ancora Psychiatric Hospital,
arguing that the treatment being forced upon him violated his right to privacy. The ruling, in that case,
was that although a patient had the right to refuse treatment, certain circumstances can take priority
above that the rights of the patient. The court mentioned the following considerations; 1) Is the patient
a danger to either themselves, other patients or to the staff at the institution? 2) Does the patient posed
the mental ability to determine the best method of

Edge was one of them. In his essay Open House he admits to turning a deaf ear to a racist rumor. The
rumor was accusing the husband of Blanche Guest, owner of Blanche s Open House, of being in a
Klan. Through later events he decides to investigate this rumor. Edge discovers that the rumor was not
only true but also learns history on the town he calls home. Although the author uses logos to make
him seem credible his use of ethos makes the audience question his values. In Open House edge uses
many strong sources to make himself seem credible. He informs us about the FBI teletype on what

Compare And Contrast Harrison Bergeron And Old Glory
Harrison Bergeron and Old Glory are both in the science fiction genre and take place in a future where
the government is in full control of everything and everyone. In Harrison Bergeron , everyone is equal
and the Handicap General is the person that makes that happen, weather by means of handicaps or
being forcing people to wear masks. Harrison Bergeron doesn t like this and tries to put a stop to this
but ends up being killed by the Handicap General. Old Glory is about a young boy s grandfather being
upset about a new law being passed and tries to protest about it, but similar to Harrison Bergeron, he
also ends up getting killed by the government. Both authors use many science fiction elements to help
develop the theme of an oppressive government keeping people from being who they really are. ...

s flag had more stars on it and that indicates that the US has twelve more countries than it does now.
In Old Glory the main character s great grandfather says, Thirteen stripes, sixty‐two stars, and not a bit
of meaning. Also, even though Harrison Bergeron takes place in 2081, it doesn t have as much
futuristic advancements as Old Glory , which takes place in 2041. In Harrison Bergeron , George and
Hazel still have an old television with a television tube in it, but in Old Glory , people have things
called halo sets . This element of sci fi helps develop the theme because the stories are showing what
could happen in the future if people aren t aware of what the government is capable

Comprehensive-Comprehensive Budgeting Analysis
Budgeting is an essential component in maintaining the finances of an organization, especially within
the healthcare industry. Healthcare administrators must be adept in financial skills in order to maintain
their organizations and to meet the new demands of the changing healthcare laws. Budgeting is the
process of converting the operating plan into monetary terms and are a control standard against which
superiors can easily measure the performance of subordinates (Nowicki, 2015, p. 281). Once strategic
and operational plans are completed, an extensive budgetary plan should be devised, including
accounting and informational systems that contain an organizational structure to ensure financial
responsibility and assist management with budgetary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This approach is beneficial for areas that change rapidly but can be difficult to implement because of
the large time commitment to develop, increased anxiety with staff members, and other administrative
and communication requirements (Nowicki, 2015). For organizations that have limited budgets and
staffing, this approach could be problematic to implement.
Comprehensive Comprehensive budgeting integrates all budgets for the organization into one large
methodology (Nowicki, 2015). Seeing as many organizations utilize a top down approach with
budgeting, a comprehensive approach would be maintained by senior management while junior
management would focus on performance instead of budgetary issues.
No matter the design approach, all of management should understand the concepts of the budget and
monitor performance. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the CEO, CFO, and/or senior management
to monitor and evaluate if the organization is maintaining the budget through operations. The board of
directors should review the organization s budget for the year, oversee major expenditures, and ensure
that strategic goals are being met by the organization. With the combined approach from all of
management and the board of directors, a suitable budgetary plan can be implemented to ensure the
efficiency of the organization and accomplishment of strategic

Each company has its own way of nabbing the spotlight from competitors. Apple is intensely secretive
about its products, so secretive that not even the workers know what they are working on. This gives
Apple a leg up on competitors, when they came up with the iPhone design nobody knew what they
were up to, and then it took other companies trying to steal apples spot light longer to come up with a
product similar. Apple is not like every other company in the same market, like Microsoft, instead they
stepped out of the norm. Everything is created in house and while some products work with others like
iPods and PC, they will work best with apple products. This creates customer loyalties: if someone
buys a Mac is most likely going to buy an iPhone or an iPod. It is unlike any other computer company.
Microsoft for example has to get other companies to create hardware or software to be compatible
with its products. Apple operates within its self, making it the firm to beat. Google is still going
strong, but growth has been decreasing instead of increasing. With the amount of employees they turn

the amount of programs they run. , just to name a few: Gmail, Google apps, Google maps,

A Philosophical Enquiry Into The Origin Of Our Ideas Of...
In A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful Edmund Burke
writes, It is the nature of grief to keep its object perpetually in its eye, to present it in its most
pleasurable views, to repeat all the circumstances that attend to it . Burke s writing attempts to clarify
the pictorial, literary, cultural, economic and psychological phenomenon of sublimity, explicating the
ways in which power, vastness, obscurity and beauty intersect to form emotional response. A
Philosophical Enquiry elucidates why so many Romantic poets and writers would make grief,
mourning and death the subjects of their works; the limitless, obscure, infinite theme death
corresponds to the existential, contemplative and introspective ideas Romantic writers were
attempting to interrogate. But the subject of death in Romantic literature transcends the topic of
corporeal death and explores the death of memory, of youth, of innocence and of the past.
Furthermore, the Romantic writers were grappling with a shifting, changing society that caused a
sense of pervasive loss in their works; as artists, authors and the population attempted to navigate a
society characterized by political revolution and technological innovation, poems about mourning act
as almost consolatory works. Amongst this writing which attempts to navigate the subject of grief,
nature is a recurring element. By examining the locations or settings authors used as a backdrop for
their reflections on death

Assignment On Ways Of Knowing
Ways of Knowing Assignment Purdue Calumet Ways of Knowing Emily is an 83 year old mother of
three who was admitted to the ICU for sepsis from a UTI. She has been in the ICU for two days. She
has not been intubated during her stay, however her lactate level is rising. She is awake, alert and
oriented. Daughter is at bedside. During catheter care using chlorhexedine wipes, she experienced
increasing discomfort and complained of a strong burning sensation in between her legs and vaginal
area. She was becoming distraught. The Empirical Way of Knowing provided the knowledge that
would be relevant for teaching about the use of chlorhexedine glucose products. This teaching was
particularly useful because prior research studies have found that CHG may cause skin irritation and
anaphyllaxis reactions. The US FDA in 1998 issued a Public Health Notice warning about the
potential side effects to health care professionals ( FDA Drug Safety Communication: FDA warns
about rare but serious allergic reactions with the skin antiseptic chlorhexidine gluconate, 2017) . The
irritation was calmed with the liberal use of cool water and a wash cloth, soothing the irritation.
Patient and daughter relaxed, both appreciated the simple solution. Daniel is a 39 year old male,
admitted to the ICU with end stage renal disease and above the knee amputation from an arterial line
that went bad. During his stay his bowels shut down, requiring emergency surgery. They removed all
but 83 cm of large bowel. He is septic and now intubated, lethargic, yet follows simple commands.
There are multiple areas of of drainage from pulled lines, amputation and surgery. End stage renal
disease requires him to be on CRRT, as hemodialysisis no longer an option. Physician s informed the
family after the emergency surgery that what the patient had left of his bowels was not sustainable to
life. It was explained to the patient as well. The family wants him to be comfortable, but do not want
to be the ones to decide on withdrawing care because they do not understand what it means. The

The Characteristics And Effects Of The Human Brain
The Human Brain is the most important organ in the body. Much like the headquarters of the body.
Without the brain the rest of the body will suffer. The brain also creates different traits and
personalities. How ever when the brain doesn t function properly it will cause many effects to an
individual. These effects can range from minimal to severe, depending on what is wrong with the
brain.
The human brain is protected by a bone structure in a form of a skull. The brain has a light pink, pail,
and noodle look to it. It has lines in the brain to section parts of the brain. The brain feels like jello, it s
stays in place but squishy. Put to much pressure on it, it will break. The human brain is very sensitive.
The human brain is also wet and slimy, like the feeling of boggers. The human brain has its own odd
smell. Like rotting food in the trash. The average brain weighs about three pounds. Robbie Gonzalez
stated Assume it feels solid, firm, almost rubber like. But the brains you encounter in a lab setting
have almost always been fixed and preserved with chemicals like formaldehyde, which have a
dramatic effect on the texture and firmness of tissue like brain matter (Gizmodo). What Robbie is
saying that brains that are in lab class feel different than a fresh brain. The reason why they feel
different is that in the lab their preserved with chemicals. That s what Robbie was talking about.
There are three major components that make up the brain. The Cerebrum, Brainstem,

There is a time bomb that is ready to go off, possibly within our lifetime; this device is constructed not
by terrorist but by an ever increasing world population. In an effort to combat its own population
problem, China has promoted policies with the intent of slowing down the growth rate of that nation s
approximately 1.3 billion people. The population policies that are be ing adopted raise fundamental
issues concerning human rights. Does a government have the right to place limits on the size of the

The Struggle In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
False Faces
Writing about the 17th century, Nathaniel Hawthorne used the knowledge of his ancestors to depict
influential stories of the Puritan culture and their ideals. Often noting the hypocrisy of Puritanism, his
characters embody the virtues and flaws of the Puritan people. One of his characters, Young Goodman
Brown, experiences a profound disillusionment when he attends the devil s ceremony in the woods of
Salem. During the procession, the devil preaches with a certain superiority, This night it shall be
granted you to know their secret deeds... where crime has been committed, and shall exult to behold
the whole earth one stain of guilt, one mighty blood spot (44). Goodman Brown learns that those
whom he had considered as the models of morality are actually sinners. The devil accentuates the
point that not only these people are sinners, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Young Goodman Brown and The Minister s Black Veil, multiple characters are obsessed with the
sins that others are hiding. The theme of hiding one s faults and flaws remains prevalent in literature
not only pertaining to the Puritans of American history. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and
her husband plot to murder King Duncan. After the crime, Macbeth assumes power and must speak
with Duncan s closest friends in such a way that he will not be accused of the King s assassination.
Conspiring with Lady Macbeth, he says, False face must hide what the false heart doth know (I.vii.92
96). Macbeth must hide the sins of his heart by displaying a facade. Reverend Hooper presents a
facade, however, it is the opposite. Instead of showing a kind face to cover his sins like Macbeth, he
wears a dark veil to cover his typically genial disposition. The false faces of the world are what cause
one to be suspicious and obsess over another s purity. Considering the texts, the obsession with purity
and sin can only result in one s

processes or machines, or else to provide some service to society (such as heat, light, or motion). For
example, an internal combustion engine converts the potential chemical energy in gasoline and oxygen
into heat, which is then transformed into the propulsive energy (kinetic energy that moves a vehicle).
A solar cell converts solar radiation into electrical energy that can then be used to light a bulb or
power a computer. In the modern world we use energy for anything such as to power our house, to
drive our car, cellphones and many other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The oil development is really advanced because we use it to power cars, trains, airplanes and we make
lots of household products with it. While oil is our main sources of energy, the world reserve of oil is
running extremely low. The big companies needs to develop other ways to provide energy to the world
population and to use other materials than plastic and other oil based products. Solar and wind energy
are two popular alternative energy to fossil fuels. Personally I really like the solar energy source of
energy because its free, clean and anybody can used it, But the only problem with solar energy is the
development of saving it is very slow and not really reliable. Some houses in Florida use solar energy
but it s not 100 % efficient because they still have to rely on the electric company or gas powered
generator to recharge batteries. Developing solar energy to be more efficient and cheaper lots of
developing countries will have an easier and faster way to provide electricity. Wind technology is
another clean and safe way to power homes, cities, countries. Wind technology is not available as
solar technology but they need to make it more available to people and if they want to go away from
coal and oil they need to develop it more to provide a clean and safer way to provide electricity to the

Health And Poverty Of Latin America
Maternal Health in Bolivia
Stephanie Spencer
Fall 2014
Health Poverty in Latin America
Section 1E Globally, maternal health is an issue that has not been given adequate attention in many
regions. Many women across the world are unable to avoid many preventable health consequences of
pregnancy, which are usually extreme enough to result in death. In the Latin American region, Bolivia
has some of the worst maternal health care systems, due to the underdevelopment of healthcare
practices, insufficient political and social concern, and a lack of public awareness. Maternal deaths are
attributable to risks caused by pregnancy and childbirth themselves, as well as from the lack of proper,
good quality health services (Khan, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Giving women control over their fertility could, alone, reduce maternal deaths by up to 20 35% by
minimizing pregnancies to the number desired (Khan, K. et al., 2006).
Furthermore, educating the community about region wide healthcare issues, i.e. facility hygiene
methods and contraception practices, has not been a concern for the La Paz district, or for Bolivia in
general. In a sense, the primary causes of maternal mortality from unsafe abortion are not only
excessive bleeding or infection but, rather, a failure to recognize the severity of these circumstances
and the necessity for reform (Grimes, D. et al. 2006). The public deserves a more direct access to
healthcare facilities, principally in rural areas in which access to health care is remarkably limited.
Most of the clinics and hospitals (responsible for performing these abortions) currently existing in
Bolivia require additional financial support and substantial developments ( Child and Maternal..
2014). The Bolivian government has neglected to fulfill its responsibility of recognizing the
fundamental right of its people to receiving adequate healthcare, and has not made substantial
improvements to instill safer abortion methods.

Besides abortion difficulties, there are a variety of medical complications that pregnant women are at
risk of having. Some of the most prevalent illnesses affecting child bearing

Similarities and Differences of Paradise Lost and...
Between the two novels, Paradise Lost and Frankenstein, there are many striking similarities. What
makes these two books so wonderful to read is the author s ability to write about the ultimate struggle;
the struggle between God and Satan, or Good and Evil. The characters in Paradise Lost and in
Frankenstein seem to be very similar to one another. God and Victor Frankenstein have many
similarities. One of their similarities is that they are both creators of new life. The monster, Victor s
creation, also shows remarkable similarities, but not with God. The monster shows similarities with
Satan and Adam. At first these characters seem very plain and tasteless, but as the stories go on and
the characters become deeper beings, the interest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just as Satan and Adam both fall from God s grace, the monster appears to fall from the grace of his
God and his creator as well, Victor. Because the stories are so similar, it s almost as if the monster is
living the epic poem Paradise Lost!
In both novels the reader is able to feel sorrow for the evil beings. The reader almost feels compassion
for the beings suffering. Is this because we, as people, better relate to sin? It seems that the reader
wants to side with evil because even when our key examples, Adam and Eve, seem faultless, they can
t refuse to into a life of sin. Through this, the reader feels sympathy for someone or something that is
an outcast. Outcasts of these two stories are Adam and Eve to God, Satan to God, and the monster to
Victor. We, as readers, also begin to see the unfairness of our society today.
While most of Frankenstein resembles God and Satan or Gad and Adam, Eve is not forgotten. Eve is
just less noticeable. Mary Shelly did this on purpose. All of Mary Shelly s good verses bad
relationships seem superficially masculinized. By making Frankenstein more masculine, Mary Shelly
is pulling away from Milton s idea of Eve and his female illustration that the fall was due to a woman.
Whenever Paradise Lost is mentioned in Mary Shelly s novel, Frankenstein, Eve is always left out.
Eve is never mentioned. The absence of the Eve character is seen when the monster asks Victor for a
female companion. The monster

Ex Machina: The role of Color The movie Ex Machina directed by Alex Garland portrayed what true
artificial intelligence would be like and how that would affect the human race. Garland s work with Ex
Machina painted a picture on what true Artificial Intelligence would be like, a self aware, thinking,
manipulative robot that have traits highly resembling human traits and character that highly resembles
human character. Garland uses color in very subtle ways to add to the complexity of his masterpiece
making his movie have deeper meaning. In the movie Garland uses color, in order to convey the
traditional expressions of each character and the plot as a whole. The use of the color of t shirt a caleb
is wearing at a certain point brings about the detail in his feelings and the expression he has. For
instance Caleb initially is seen to wear a blue and red t shirt. The juxtaposition of red and blue which
is seen throughout the film highlights to what extent a character feels uncertain and anxious. This is
evident as after Caleb has won the competition , he is unsure how to feel and is nervous. As Caleb gets

accomplish my daily goal. I learned a lot about fitness and what it takes to become healthier. My
attitude towards fitness changed after taking this course. I stayed motivated in different ways. The
content of the course did meet my expectations. I will continue to work on my fitness routine once this
course is complete. My overall fitness goals are to be able to run a mile on the treadmill without
getting tired or stopping, improve my muscular strength and endurance, and become more flexible.
My goal is to be able to do more than ten pushups without getting tired or my arms getting sore. I also
want to be able to touch my toes and be able to hold stretching position longer than thirty seconds.
Overall I just want to become healthier and in shape. I do think that I can accomplish these goals with

Beethoven Biography
Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven is perhaps the most famous and influential of all the pianist composers of his
time. He was considered instrumental in the transition of between the classical and romantic eras in
Western Art Music.
Beethoven was born on December 16th, 1770 in Bonn (now called Cologne, Germany) to parents of
Belgian descent. His father, Johann, was a musician at the court of Bonn, and his mother, Maria,
whom he later deemed as his best friend , was described as a warmhearted gentle women. There were
seven children born into this family, only three survived, in which Ludwig was the oldest.

He could then respond orally or in the book. Out of a total 400 conversation books, 264 books were
altered to destroyed after Beethoven s death by Anton Schindler (Beethoven s biographer) , who
wished only an idealized biography of the composer to survive.
In 1807, Beethoven wrote his third symphony for Bonaparte. Bonaparte was seen as a liberator of
people, which then opened the door of hope for all people. However, Beethoven became angry and
when the First Consul declared himself emperor and put that anger into his music, spewing out his
name from the musical score. It was played for the first time on April 7th, 1805, and entitled Eroica
Symphony.
During this time period, Ludwig was commissioned by the Viennese government to begin composing
an opera, entitled Lenora . This would be the only opera he would compose. Critics speculate it is
because he was not skilled in this area. It went through several revisions and was retitled Fedelio ,
against his wishes. It debuted on November 20th, 1805 to a very small audience of French officers
under Napoleon.
From the 1805 onward, Beethoven s productivity increased dramatically, having reached his musical
maturity. He had become regarded as one of the most important in a generation of young composers,
following Hayden and Mozart. Beethoven

Why is kindness or altruism important for society?
Altruism may be defined as a basic selfless attitude that may attribute to those providing initial
intervention (Ronel, 2006).
For a society or community to thrive, prosper and grow minimum expectations must exist for the
individuals of that community to be happy. Rules and laws are in place to govern the ways in which
we should act socially, ethically and morally. Among such principles is an expectation to be fair and

Examples Of Love In Romeo And Juliet
Was it Really Love?
Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. The
love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals, deep burning, unquenchable. (Henry Ward Beecher)
Just like in Romeo and Juliet, there are many young people who do not know the meaning of true
love. Teenagers can fall in love, it just isn t very likely that it will last. There are many ways that
Romeo and Juliet is not the the most durable and lasting love story ever. A few reasons being that the
two showed infatuation, not love, they were too impulsive, and never had really been in a relationship
before meeting each other.
To begin, people all around the world believe that what Romeo and Juliet had was true love. What
they do not know is that what the couple shared was actually closer to infatuation: an intense but short
lived passion or admiration for someone or something. This was definitely shown between the two
quite often throughout the play and the movie. For example God join d my heart and Romeo s, thou
our hands; (Romeo and Juliet. 4.1.3) During this scene in the play, Juliet is saying that she loves
Romeo so much that she was willing to sacrifice herself for him because of such a strong infatuation
towards him. Also, in the movie, Juliet puts a gun to her head because she would rather die than be
without Romeo. That does not sound like love, those are the actions of someone who doesn t know the
first thing about it. If the two

Flaws Of The Islamic Religion
Flaws In The Islamic Religion By Kyle Lindsey
Apologetics, Mr. Sweis
July 2015
Part 1: Thesis In 1900, the world was made up of 12.3 % Muslims. In 2010, The number rose to
22.5% making Islam the fastest growing religion in the entire world, exceeding even the growth rate
of Christianity. The American Muslim Council has estimated that there are 2,000 mosques and Islamic
community centers in the United States. More than 80% percent have been built in the past 12 years.
Is it possible then that Islam, such an attractive and fast growing religion, can be completely flawed?
Yes, the religion of Islam is filled with historical, scientific, and most importantly spiritual flaws.
Answering this question is important because people are becoming more and more blind to the truth of
the Christian religion by the rapid growth of Islam. Outlining the flaws of Islam also helps to bring out
the accuracy of the Christian religion.
How is it possible that Islam, the fastest growing religion, is so full of errors? Islam is growing so
rapidly because many of its followers are unaware of the extent of its corruption, and many of its
followers are equally unaware of how many errors can be found throughout the Quran. One way to
show people the flaws in Islam is by slowly picking it apart and in so doing, the person is able to more
clearly see the errors and parts of the Quran that do not match up with facts of history and

Differences Between Greek Theatre And Theatre
Opera and theater share many similarities especially since the former is influenced by the latter. In his
text, A Short History of Opera, Donald Grout defines opera as a drama in music: a dramatic action,
exhibited on stage with scenery by actors in costume, the words conveyed entirely or for the most part
by singing, and the whole sustained and amplified by orchestral music (4). Opera literally translates to
work. The first known opera that was performed was in 1597. However, interestingly enough, the
word opera was not used until 1634 (Grout 1). The origins of seventeenth century opera can be traced
back to Greek drama and medieval theatre. Throughout the seventeenth century, many different kinds
of operas can be found from countries such as Italy, Germany, and England. In order to fully
understand opera and its inner workings, it is important to locate and learn the origin of opera.
Greek drama is said to be the model on which the creators of modern opera at the end of the sixteenth
century based their work on (Grout 11). There are substantial differences between Greek drama and
opera. For example, in Greek theater, the cast was made up of only men and young boys (Grout 13).
Also, it is important to note that these plays were not sung entirely. Rather, many parts were spoken
out loud like the singing was left to the chorus (Grout 12). The chorus s main function was to express
opinions or give advice. They also conveyed emotions for the audience to react to (Grout 12).

The Concept Of National Competitiveness
Introduction
The concept of national competitiveness has become a key issue to managers of firms and
understanding it has important ramification for policy makers as well. While most agree on the idea of
competitive firms, the notion of competitive nations is vague at best. Even with all the debate,
discussion, and research there is still no pervasive theory. In fact, there is not even an accepted
definition. Classical economic theorists dismiss the concept of competitiveness all together and
instead look to comparative advantage and the drivers of trade surplus to explain national prosperity as
a positive sum game. Harvard s Michael Porter approaches the subject from a different view, asserting
that defining competitiveness as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, a study that compares the relative effects of each view on a national economy is explored. Next,
both competing theories and their criticisms are explored. Finally, the impact of these theories on
policy decisions is discussed.
Article Review
In a unique study that addresses the debate directly, Thompson (2004) questioned if alterations in
relative business costs underpinned by currency change would affect national competitiveness (strict
economists view) more or less than institutional ( legal, governmental, public policy and other factors)
changes (the view of business/management scholars like Porter). To do so he studied a specimen
economy, Hong Kong which experienced a considerable decline between 1997 2002. During this
period the Hong Kong dollar appreciated and sweeping institutional changes occurred as Hong Kong
returned to China. At the same time, Hong Kong dropped from third place to seventh place in the
World Competitiveness Yearbook and from second to eighteenth place in the Global Competitiveness
Report. Cost competitiveness had nothing to do with these declines instead they reflected significant
changes by the governments of Hong Kong and China that were counter to the institutional
foundations of Hong Kong s past competitiveness. Thus Hong Kong presents a unique opportunity to
separate the contributions to national competitiveness of

There are two distinct types of cocoa plants: Criollo and Forastero. The Criollo variety is the most
sensitive of the cocoa plants, and any shifts in climate can have an adverse affect on its already low
yield. In an attempt to blend the hardiness of the Forastero plant with the delicate flavors of the Criollo
plant, the two were hybridized into a third plant, Trinitario, which accounted for 20% of all production
in 2008, although it s steadily developing a following. Regardless of the cocoa variety, the production
cycle is the same. On average, cocoa trees take five years to reach maturity and bear fruit, at which
time only a total of about 20 pods might be ready for harvest. As a rule of thumb, 10 pods produce 2.2
pounds of cocoa, so the average tree can produce only a little over four pounds of cocoa. Interestingly,
the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Indonesia account for more than 70% of the world s cocoa production, and
most of that production comes from small plantations. Once the cocoa beans are dried out, they are

Essay about Wanted by Caroline B. Cooney Summary
Wanted by Caroline B. Cooney
Alice Robie is a 15 year old girl. She was visiting her father during one of her custody weekends . She
gets a strange call from her father telling her to drive his most prized car, Corvette, which he wouldn t
let anyone touch. In the book it said that was one reason why her parents were divorced because her
mother thought he loved the car more than her. Her father told her to get two disks and drive to where
they eat ice cream most of the time. In my opinion I felt that the main character took to long to
complete this task. But before she could live the house a strange yet familiar person invades her
looking for the disk her father told her to bring. Fortunately she was hiding with the disk under the ...

to where the computer lab would be. When Alice final makes to the computer lab she realizes she
needs a student ID but doesn t have one. Luckliy a group of boys are walking down hall. When they

Anyway, Alice gets on a computer in the back of the lab and starts to look for the email she sent to her
mother . The email was written exactly how she would write and email to someone; lowercase letters,
signed ally, no dear.... and she even believed that she committed the crime. Then she put in the disk
that her father wanted her to bring. She reads about her father and his brother but the information is
not enough to find out who could possible kill her father. Soon she has to leave and she decides to
print out the document. Once the document is printed out, she leaves, lucky for her she doesn t need to
use a student ID to exit the lab. She meets up with Paul and she tries to get rid of him. Fortunately, she
gets a place where she can sleep over for the night. When morning hits the radio is on and the owner
of the room is in the bathroom probably listening

Nursing Case Study Meningitis
1. After analyzing the symptoms of this patient, they all seem to lead in the direction of meningitis.
Meningitis, however, needs a puncture in the lumbar region to completely be diagnosed (spinal tap).
This puncture will take cerebrospinal fluid and test to reveal the white blood cell count which the
majority will be neutrophils and also show low glucose levels, increased protein levels, high CSF
opening pressure, a culture and a gram stain to show the cause of the infection. Meningitis is most
commonly shown as a bacteria infection, but there are chances it could be fungal or viral as well. I
believe this patient has bacterial meningitis because, as a fungal infection, it is usually presented in
someone who is HIV positive and symptoms can take weeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Common complications of meningitis include hearing loss, seizures, pneumonia, and more serious
complications involve the cranial nerves, which would include facial weakness and blindness. It is
recommended that patients with meningitis have a 30 degree head elevation of their beds. CT scan is a
good way to assess the patient s symptoms to rule out skull fractures or congenital abnormalities. Most
of the complications contribute to parenchymal damage and increased intracranial pressure. As these
patient s bodies try to fight the infection, seizures can be a result. Fluid cannot be drained properly
which increase sodium levels in the brain. Seizures can be managed with anticonvulsant and
benzodiazepine medications as well as proper fluid management through intravenous management.
Hearing loss results in the damage of some of the nerve endings in the cochlea of the ear. The first 48
hours are critical in detecting and reversing hearing loss in patients. Another complication is facial
weakness and blindness, which is the outcome of inflammation of the meninges, which can affect the
cranial nerves. These nerves supply the head and neck with their blood supply so when that is
affected, the resulting nerve is

Research Approach. A phenomenological approach was used to ask semi structured interview
questions sought to discover the role of music in PMs life time of experiences. To understand the role
music played in PMs lives, and what motivated them to participate in community performances as

First, personal attributes of PMs genetic and psychological traits reflect their need of cognitively
challenging repertoire. Second, cohort effects of PMs age group or familial age group s enjoyment of
Broadway, Big Band, and Swing Jazz communal genres. Third, period effects of PMs that share a
historical era of Folk, Country, Rock and Rock, and Blues protest genres.
Overall, practice was required to ensure the presentation of each musical piece showcased music
competencies from advanced to virtuoso. According to PMs, developing their music competencies has
been a lifelong journey they enjoyed and will continue to enjoy.
Emotional memories linked to repertoire. Beginning with the maestros of Western Classical music,
composers have intentionally written in modulating key scales, inversions, and tempos to evoke
imagery and emotions to motivate listeners (Bonds, 2006). Therefore, PMs were asked which
repertory affected them the most over their lifetime. Participants reported Western Classical repertoire
and 20th century genres not only evoked emotions and imagery, but also the event at the time of
hearing or performing composers

  • 2. Advertising Analysis Of California Almonds Around 1950, almond farmers asked the US Department of Agriculture if they could collaborate to improve quality and marking of their almonds. California Almonds comes from nearly 6,800 almond farms, and over 91% of these farms are family owned. Their marketing team constantly finds and implements new ways to reach their target audience of heathy people. One ad in the September print of People Magazine depicts a young female smiling off in the distance in the lake on a paddle board holding an oar, while the mountains behind her are blurred. On the side of her in large pink letters it says, An Excellent Source of Can Do in Every Crunch. Under this it explains that Whatever you take on, take it on with almonds, because every serving has six grams of protein to give you more than enough energy to conquer your day whether you go to school or go paddle boarding in the mountains. California Almonds adds emphasis on the lighting, focus, and pathos for their advertisements to stand out to their audience while simultaneously giving a warm satisfying feeling of contentment. The lighting manifests certain aspects of the advertisement to pop out to their viewers. The radiance of the cloudless sky displays the small vibrant aspects of this advertisement. The sunlight shines beautifully onto her multicolored blue ensemble. The lake water reflects the sunlight elegantly against all of the other aspects of the advertisement. The lighting aids the green trees and the white ashy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Killer Whales Controversy Everyone loves going to marine parks such as SeaWorld and Marineland. They offer many spectacular shows with dolphins, sea lions and birds. However, the main attractions they offer are orcas, or as they are better known as killer whales. Highly intelligent and with acute senses of sight and hearing, they are apex predators. Recently, the possession of orcas has been a big topic of controversy. Many people believe that the animals are being mistreated in captivity. Their captivity limits their freedom and enjoyment. Many orcas suffer from poor physical and mental effects in captivity. Killer whales will usually travel between 50 and 100 miles per day in the wild, but in captivity all they can do is swim in circles or float for no reason. In the wild, killer whales live in pods of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2013, a documentary about killer whales in captivity, particularly Tilikum was released to the public. Blackfish garnered critical acclaim and people were influenced by the movie. Parks all over the world were impacted by the film, but mainly SeaWorld. The company lost 15 million dollars in revenue in 2014. It is out of line and corrupt to benefit from the abuse of creatures. Killer whales are the primary fascination at numerous marine parks and, without them, attendance would drop radically. Subsequently, these facilities need to keep participation levels high by offering shows that give amusement and permit visitors to see the creatures very close. Orcas are enduring major physical and mental issues because of their captivity, for example, broken teeth from chewing on steel doors, dorsal fins breaking down from absence of work out, and indications of sadness. My goal today is to not only inform you of the many birth controls but to also encourage you to look at the pros and the cons of every method if you are using contraception. Birth control is a very broad topic with many alternatives which can impact your lifestyle in many ways, therefore you should consider these alternatives before applying any form of contraceptive into your body and find the method that works best for you. Not many of us know this, but birth control can be very risky when you don t know much about your body. What most of us do know are the general benefits which include acne reduction, period regulation, and easing menstrual cramps. A review on U.S. News World Report on August 7, 2006, featuring Christine Larson, 31 trials and 12,579 women, looked at the the effect of birth control and facial acne and found that some oral contraceptives were effective in reducing acne. • 5. Contagion Ethical Issues In the infectious disease unit, the main focal point consisted of showing the audience how the spread of a major virus may occur in population. In this case, we were presented with two movies: Contagion and 28 Days Later. These movies both displayed an infectious disease, which is spread through animals causing harm to people. A scenario that presented in Contagion seemed to be realistic possibility because a simple transmission of disease from an animal can happen. If the virus is unknown and no vaccine is available, it could certainly cause a lot of harm to a large population of people. The overall idea of testing on animals should be considered to be unethical. In terms of medical research purposes, it is necessary to continue making progress in the medical field, especially in terms of infectious diseases. The main ethical concern that receives the most criticism from activists and animal welfare groups is the overall treatment of animals. As seen in the opening sequence of 28 days later, the animal activists were trying to free the monkeys that were held in medical research lab. According to Blakemore, In fact, animal research has contributed to 70 per cent of Nobel prizes for physiology or medicine (Blakemore, 2008). One thing that cannot be denied is the usefulness of animal testing in the medical field. The fact that is has made a substantial contribution in terms of developing medicines that can be used in current times. The medical field seems that is always expanding due to the increasing technology present in current times. However, it still appears that we are not at that particular point in time, where animal testing can be completely phases out of medicine. The main purpose of any medical researcher is to find a cure for genetic disorder or incurable diseases. We need to evaluate all options in the medical field because these could help save a lot of people s lives. Furthermore, researchers that are dedicated to their jobs are not attempting to harm the animal in any manner. Taking that into account, the best idea would be to get their insight from animal right organizations, so they promote a certified ethical practice of animals testing. Hence, it is a good way to monitor the practices of animal testing in science testing labs. In this case, the patient John Rennie, a former pilot, had been in and out of mental health facilities in the state of New Jersey since his twin brother died in 1973 in an airplane accident. Between 1973 and 1977 he had been treated both inpatient and outpatient, numerous times, per the court record, at least 11 times. He had been diagnosed with various mental health issues which included paranoia, schizophrenia, and manic depression. He had even suffered from delusions and had made threats to kill the President. During the series of treatments, Rennie would occasionally refuse to take the prescribed medication given to him by the treatment staff. The record also indicated that during his treatment Rennie had been in frequent fights with other patients as well as the staff, and had gone through suicidal and delusional stages. In 1977, Rennie filed a suit in the New Jersey Circuit Court, against the Ancora Psychiatric Hospital, arguing that the treatment being forced upon him violated his right to privacy. The ruling, in that case, was that although a patient had the right to refuse treatment, certain circumstances can take priority above that the rights of the patient. Comprehensive Comprehensive budgeting integrates all budgets for the organization into one large methodology (Nowicki, 2015). Seeing as many organizations utilize a top down approach with budgeting, a comprehensive approach would be maintained by senior management while junior management would focus on performance instead of budgetary issues. No matter the design approach, all of management should understand the concepts of the budget and monitor performance. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the CEO, CFO, and/or senior management to monitor and evaluate if the organization is maintaining the budget through operations. The board of directors should review the organization s budget for the year, oversee major expenditures, and ensure that strategic goals are being met by the organization. In A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful Edmund Burke writes, It is the nature of grief to keep its object perpetually in its eye, to present it in its most pleasurable views, to repeat all the circumstances that attend to it . Burke s writing attempts to clarify the pictorial, literary, cultural, economic and psychological phenomenon of sublimity, explicating the ways in which power, vastness, obscurity and beauty intersect to form emotional response. A Philosophical Enquiry elucidates why so many Romantic poets and writers would make grief, mourning and death the subjects of their works; the limitless, obscure, infinite theme death corresponds to the existential, contemplative and introspective ideas Romantic writers were attempting to interrogate. But the subject of death in Romantic literature transcends the topic of corporeal death and explores the death of memory, of youth, of innocence and of the past. Furthermore, the Romantic writers were grappling with a shifting, changing society that caused a sense of pervasive loss in their works; as artists, authors and the population attempted to navigate a society characterized by political revolution and technological innovation, poems about mourning act as almost consolatory works. Amongst this writing which attempts to navigate the subject of grief, nature is a recurring element. Because the stories are so similar, it s almost as if the monster is living the epic poem Paradise Lost! In both novels the reader is able to feel sorrow for the evil beings. The reader almost feels compassion for the beings suffering. Is this because we, as people, better relate to sin? It seems that the reader wants to side with evil because even when our key examples, Adam and Eve, seem faultless, they can t refuse to into a life of sin. Through this, the reader feels sympathy for someone or something that is an outcast. Outcasts of these two stories are Adam and Eve to God, Satan to God, and the monster to Victor. We, as readers, also begin to see the unfairness of our society today. While most of Frankenstein resembles God and Satan or Gad and Adam, Eve is not forgotten. Eve is just less noticeable. Mary Shelly did this on purpose. All of Mary Shelly s good verses bad relationships seem superficially masculinized. By making Frankenstein more masculine, Mary Shelly is pulling away from Milton s idea of Eve and his female illustration that the fall was due to a woman. Whenever Paradise Lost is mentioned in Mary Shelly s novel, Frankenstein, Eve is always left out. Eve is never mentioned. The absence of the Eve character is seen when the monster asks Victor for a female companion. The monster ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Color In Ex Machina Akhil John Professor Scott Humanities 200 8 November 2015 Ex Machina: The role of Color The movie Ex Machina directed by Alex Garland portrayed what true artificial intelligence would be like and how that would affect the human race. Garland s work with Ex Machina painted a picture on what true Artificial Intelligence would be like, a self aware, thinking, manipulative robot that have traits highly resembling human traits and character that highly resembles human character. Garland uses color in very subtle ways to add to the complexity of his masterpiece making his movie have deeper meaning. In the movie Garland uses color, in order to convey the traditional expressions of each character and the plot as a whole. The use of the color of t shirt a caleb is wearing at a certain point brings about the detail in his feelings and the expression he has. For instance Caleb initially is seen to wear a blue and red t shirt. It was played for the first time on April 7th, 1805, and entitled Eroica Symphony. During this time period, Ludwig was commissioned by the Viennese government to begin composing an opera, entitled Lenora . This would be the only opera he would compose. Critics speculate it is because he was not skilled in this area. It went through several revisions and was retitled Fedelio , against his wishes. It debuted on November 20th, 1805 to a very small audience of French officers under Napoleon. There are many ways that Romeo and Juliet is not the the most durable and lasting love story ever. A few reasons being that the two showed infatuation, not love, they were too impulsive, and never had really been in a relationship before meeting each other. To begin, people all around the world believe that what Romeo and Juliet had was true love. The American Muslim Council has estimated that there are 2,000 mosques and Islamic community centers in the United States. More than 80% percent have been built in the past 12 years. Is it possible then that Islam, such an attractive and fast growing religion, can be completely flawed? Yes, the religion of Islam is filled with historical, scientific, and most importantly spiritual flaws. Answering this question is important because people are becoming more and more blind to the truth of the Christian religion by the rapid growth of Islam. Outlining the flaws of Islam also helps to bring out the accuracy of the Christian religion. How is it possible that Islam, the fastest growing religion, is so full of errors? Islam is growing so rapidly because many of its followers are unaware of the extent of its corruption, and many of its followers are equally unaware of how many errors can be found throughout the Quran. • 40. Differences Between Greek Theatre And Theatre Opera and theater share many similarities especially since the former is influenced by the latter. In his text, A Short History of Opera, Donald Grout defines opera as a drama in music: a dramatic action, exhibited on stage with scenery by actors in costume, the words conveyed entirely or for the most part by singing, and the whole sustained and amplified by orchestral music (4). Opera literally translates to work. The first known opera that was performed was in 1597. However, interestingly enough, the word opera was not used until 1634 (Grout 1). The origins of seventeenth century opera can be traced back to Greek drama and medieval theatre. Throughout the seventeenth century, many different kinds of operas can be found from countries such as Italy, Germany, and England. In order to fully understand opera and its inner workings, it is important to locate and learn the origin of opera. Greek drama is said to be the model on which the creators of modern opera at the end of the sixteenth century based their work on (Grout 11). There are substantial differences between Greek drama and opera. For example, in Greek theater, the cast was made up of only men and young boys (Grout 13). Also, it is important to note that these plays were not sung entirely. Rather, many parts were spoken out loud like the singing was left to the chorus (Grout 12). The chorus s main function was to express opinions or give advice. They also conveyed emotions for the audience to react to (Grout 12). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To do so he studied a specimen economy, Hong Kong which experienced a considerable decline between 1997 2002. At the same time, Hong Kong dropped from third place to seventh place in the World Competitiveness Yearbook and from second to eighteenth place in the Global Competitiveness Report.
