What is Quality Control and Quality Assurance? Quality control (QC) is a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a manufactured product or performed service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria or meets the requirements of the client or customer.  QC is similar to, but not identical with,  quality assurance  (QA).  QA is defined as a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a product or service under development (before work is complete, as opposed to afterwards) meets specified requirements Quality Evaluation PASS Fail

The job of a manag er is to work  ON  the system, to  improve  it,  continuously ,  WITH  their help. The students work  IN  the system. The job of a teacher is to work  ON  the system, to  improve  it,  continuously ,  WITH  their help. … Teachers must be  managers  of the learning and teaching process…
QC vs. QA There is a great difference between QC and QA
The Deming Cycle for QA Quality Assurance is not achieved by completing the four steps of the cycle. It is a Cyclical and iterative process!!!
Learning Objects…the key factor We defined the Items of Knowledge as the smallest component in which we can divide the curricular content.  (OES 1991) John Wiley introduced the term Learning Objects in 1997, in his PhD thesis at Stanford University. Quality Assurance needs METRICS.

Closing the cycle: Ebbinghaus and the Forgetting Curves Ebbinghaus investigation offers an answer for the previous questions: Collect the metrics at the first time, 2, 5, 15, and 30 days later Ebbinghaus observed that  iterative reinforcements increase retention. The slope of the forgetting curve changes with every new reinforcing . After a 30 days review, the slope does not change significativelly. This theory provided us the frequency This theory provide the students with long-term retention

These tests help the student asses how much additional learning needs to be completed to improve the score.  The test has been designed to emulate the real tests. Every answer is tracked on the Navigation Bar. Every answered question is illuminated to inform the student.

  • 3. What is Quality Control and Quality Assurance? Quality control (QC) is a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a manufactured product or performed service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria or meets the requirements of the client or customer. QC is similar to, but not identical with, quality assurance (QA). QA is defined as a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a product or service under development (before work is complete, as opposed to afterwards) meets specified requirements Quality Evaluation PASS Fail

  • 5. QC vs. QA There is a great difference between QC and QA
  • 6. The Deming Cycle for QA Quality Assurance is not achieved by completing the four steps of the cycle. It is a Cyclical and iterative process!!!
  • 7. Learning Objects…the key factor We defined the Items of Knowledge as the smallest component in which we can divide the curricular content. (OES 1991) John Wiley introduced the term Learning Objects in 1997, in his PhD thesis at Stanford University. Quality Assurance needs METRICS.

Closing the cycle: Ebbinghaus and the Forgetting Curves Ebbinghaus investigation offers an answer for the previous questions: Collect the metrics at the first time, 2, 5, 15, and 30 days later Ebbinghaus observed that iterative reinforcements increase retention. The slope of the forgetting curve changes with every new reinforcing . After a 30 days review, the slope does not change significativelly. These tests help the student asses how much additional learning needs to be completed to improve the score. The test has been designed to emulate the real tests. Every answer is tracked on the Navigation Bar. Every answered question is illuminated to inform the student.
