nobody has a right to but himself, John Locke. Those who are born into America
today are farther and farther removed from a dark chapter in U.S. History. In
America, the second you are born you have the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and
the pursuit of happiness. This wasn t always the case. The enslaving of African
American s was a way of life in America, especially in the Southern states. Black
people were either forced or born into slavery. These people had these unalienable
rights stripped from them and they were at the mercy of whomever they belonged to.
This was the way of life in the Colonies for 100 s of years until something changed.
Attitudes towards Great Britain were changing as the colonies neared an inevitable
revolution. The great awakening and enlightened writers such as John Locke and

Discrimination In The Public School System
Discrimination in education goes further than the theory of the school to prison
pipeline. Discipline in schools raise several questions but one in particular, are
minority children punished more harshly than white children for the same
infractions? Most parent s response to that question would be home school. Common
among white Americans, is showing an increase among African American kids. The
government play a huge role in education, however what role does the government
and the Obama administration play in the matter of discrimination in schools? School
discipline, the law, and racism, how do they contribute to discrimination of education
in the public school system?
In January of 2014, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Office of Civil ... Show
Majority of minority students are suspended or expelled. This pushes minority
students out of the classroom to the juvenile or prison system. If a white student pulls
the fire alarm and a minority student does the same offense, will each student get the
same punishment? Research says no, the white student usually gets a warning and the
minority student get a few days suspension or possibly expelled. Policies such as
these usually have destructive results, as reported most of these students who are
victimized usually drop out or are placed in the prison system. Many African
American parents turn to home schooling for their kids due to racism in the public
school system. This give African American parents the opportunity to teach their
child(ren) about the African/African American culture and history. Many parents
report that they have the chance and opportunity to also teach self esteem and pride
for their race. Many black parents that homeschool are women that engage in racial
protectionism, the knowledge and confidence to overcome racism that they may face.
Most of these parents go out their way to educate their youth about black people that
have achieved greatness in a specific domain such as literature, politics, science or
history. I believe that racism in the school system is totally beyond the government. I
believe that discrimination against students of color by the school to prison pipeline

Film Analysis: Healers of Ghana Healers of Ghana were an amazing film of the
people in Ghana. The scenes that caught my attention was learning the about the
Techiman Bono people and their belief in witchcraft. They have rituals and religious
belief of polytheism. In the film we are in Techiman Bono in Ghana that consists of
seventy different ethnic groups along with over ninety different languages that are
spoken. The education system is well organized as in the film the children are
engaging in physical activities. They have the children line up for the inspection of
hand and teeth to promote, the learning of taking care of them. As a result to the
education system, most of the children go to secondary school. The Bono tribes
