The document discusses the concept of a "bond servant" or slave in the Bible. It explains that in the Old Testament, a slave could voluntarily become a bond servant for life by declaring their love for their master, wife, and children. Their ear would then be pierced with an awl as a sign they were a slave for life. The document argues that this concept reflects how believers are bond servants of Christ, having given their lives to him completely. It stresses the importance of being humble and obedient like Jesus, who was the ultimate suffering servant and gave his life to fulfill God's will.

Water Into Wine (John 2-11) Bible Study | A (Messianic) Taste of What's To ComeDanny Scotton, Jr.
I argue that Jesus is giving a messianic taste of what's to come. As one scholar notes, "He changes water of Judaism into the wine of Christianity" (Morris, 155).In doing so, He gives a preview of the new messianic wine (Jer 31:12; Joel 3:18; Amos 9:13-14; Is 25:6; Hos 14:7). and the messianic wedding/wedding banquet (OT: Hos 2:19f.; Is 54:4-8; Is 62:5; NT: Mt 22:1f., Mt 25:1f.; Mk 2:19-20; Rev 19:7-9; Eph 5:25) -- which, in the end times, will be enjoyed by all who put their faith (i.e., active trust) in Christ (cf. Jn 3:16. etc).

The document discusses the birth and mission of Jesus Christ based on biblical passages. It describes how John the Baptist was called by God to prepare people for Jesus' coming. His mission was to turn people to God and accept God's wisdom. After his resurrection, Jesus gave his followers the mission to make disciples of all nations by baptizing them and teaching them to obey Jesus' commands. As John the Baptist prepared for Jesus' first coming, Christians have the mission to prepare for his second coming. The document encourages reflection on this mission as we celebrate Christmas.
This document provides the order of service for St. Barnabas (Chester) Anglican Church for Sunday, July 22, 2012. The service includes two scripture readings, a psalm, prayers, hymns, and a sermon by Rev. Dr. Harold Shepherd. St. Barnabas is described as
God is defined as faithful in keeping His promises and covenants. He is reliable, steadfast, and unwavering. Throughout the Bible there are many examples of God's faithfulness, such as His promises to the Israelites and fulfilling prophecies through Jesus Christ. As Christians, we can have confidence that God will forgive our sins if we repent and accept Jesus, as God is faithful in His promise of salvation.

By entering into closer union with Mary through prayer and devotion, we can become true sons of God and apostles of a new spiritual springtime.
This document is a sermon by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome discussing the concept of faith and possibility. The key points are:
1. Attending Christ Embassy church teaches followers about living according to the spirit of God's word, which allows His vision to be manifested in their lives and influence others.
2. True faith, even in small amounts, allows believers to accomplish anything according to God's word. Having faith means acting on God's promises without seeing results.
3. Words have power and believers must be careful with their speech, as confessing difficulties can manifest them. Speaking God's promises over one's life aligns it with His vision of blessings and success.
The document discusses the blessings of knowing God as our heavenly Father. It states that through the new birth experience and receiving the Holy Spirit, we become part of God's family and can call Him our Father. As children of God, we receive many blessings, including the ability to communicate with God through prayer. The document provides examples of praying in accordance with Jesus' teachings and outlines the privileges of being in God's family.

The Holy Family is presented as a model for discerning God's will through creating an interior life like their own at Nazareth. The document urges building a civilization of love and discerning if one has received a "call within a call" to help with this new springtime of the Church. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God as the instrument for change in people's lives. The Bible provides hope for change, imparts the keys to change, and provides examples of people who succeeded in changing, such as Saul who became Paul. With the Word of God, circumstances, finances, physical conditions, and lives can all change, as it corrects one's focus and provides portraits of hope for when change is needed in others. The Word shows how persistence in faith can lead to change, as with the woman with an issue of blood.
This document provides a summary of Barry Kennedy's article about Christians preparing for Sunday worship rather than focusing on the Super Bowl. It discusses how Sunday is the Lord's Day set aside for Christians to worship together through singing, prayer, communion, and Bible study. These spiritual activities are more important than athletic competitions. The article cites Paul using athletics as a metaphor for the Christian life, emphasizing desire, discipline, focus, and sacrifice. It encourages readers to make sure they are winning the ultimate "big game" of life through faith in Jesus Christ.
This sermon discusses Paul's letter to Titus in Titus 3:1-11. It summarizes the passage in three parts:
I. Our Past Guilt (Titus 3:3) - We were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to sin.
II. God's Present Grace (Titus 3:4-6) - God's kindness and love appeared through (a) the sovereign love of God, (b) the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, and (c) the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
III. Our Future Glory (Titus 3:7) - We will one day receive our full inheritance in heaven and reign
John 3:1-5. A New Life In Christ. In the new life we have been born again. In the new life we are a new creation. In the new life we crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. In the new life we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. In the new life we are renewed by the Holy Spirit. In the new life we are dead to sin but alive to God. In the new life we are washed from our sins. in the new life we put to death the old man and put on the new man. In the new life we died and our life is hidden with Christ in God. In the new life we were brought back from death in sin.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

5PMRickGlass Seasons Change, but God does not.
Now that summer has ended, I find myself wondering about my favorite season.
Autumn has been less “fall” and more summer here in Alabama. I am usually excited
about the brisk cool air and changing leaves. It is this time of year that I enjoy sitting by
the fire with a good book while holding my coffee mug. The other day, I stood outside in
the heat and noticed my autumn pumpkin had not survived the peculiar weather. I am
used to the changing of the seasons, but not used to the seasons themselves changing.
This year it is just as true as ever: Seasons change, but God does not.
Before long the need to sit by the fire will be upon us. Because of this, I am re-
minded of another fire that Jehoiakim (king of Judah) sat by, warming himself with strips
of paper from a scroll. “It was the ninth month, and the king was sitting in the winter
house, and there was a fire burning in the fire pot before him. As Jehudi read three or
four columns, the king would cut them off with a knife and throw them into the fire in
the fire pot, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the fire
pot” (Jeremiah 36:22-23).
The scroll that Jehoiakim turned into kindling was the word of the Lord. “In the
fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah
from the Lord: “Take a scroll and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you
against Israel and Judah and all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of
Josiah until today (Jeremiah 36:1-2). Ironically, the word of the Lord was about the de-
struction of Judah by fire. God gave Jeremiah the reason for this scroll: “It may be that
the house of Judah will hear all the disaster that I intend to do to them, so that everyone
may turn from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin” (Jeremiah
36:3).
God did not desire to destroy them by fire. He desired that all of the people would
repent. Jehoiakim placed himself above God and sought to hide God’s saving message
from the people. Today we understand that fire is waiting for all who do not repent.
This fire is unlike the fire in a calm fireplace that warms us in the winter. It will
consume those who disobey and for eternity. Yet there are some who refuse to send out
this message, who may seek to hide it just like Jehoiakim. What does the word say? “But
by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept
until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly” (2 Peter 3:7). May we never
take the words of the Lord lightly, nor seek to be warmed by them like Jehoiakim in dis-
obedience.
Seasons change, but God does not.

The Loyalty of Christ
According to W.E. Vine the word pistos (faith or
faithful) is used in the New Testament of one who is
“to be trusted, reliable.” It is an attribute that applies
both to God and to man. It implies loyalty; one who is
worthy of trust. It is a quality to be admired and de-
sired. John Ruskin said of this quality, it is “The no-
blest word in the catalogue of social virtues.” It is the
one thing that is demanded of a servant and a soldier.
In Revelation 19 John saw heaven opened and he
saw Jesus. In his description of what he saw John
said, “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white
horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and
True, and in righteousness He judges and makes
war” (19:11). Jesus is the Faithful and True! In this
series of articles we want to discuss the loyalty of Je-
sus to God, to God’s word and to His disciples. God
had entrusted to His Son a work to accomplish. God
sent His Son with a specific work to be done. Jesus
explained that He was sent by His Father. “Jesus said
to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me,
for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I
come of Myself, but He sent Me” (Jn. 8:42). That work
is spoken of again and again in the gospel of John.
“For God did not send His Son into the world to con-
demn the world, but that the world through Him might
be saved” (Jn. 3:17). “I must work the works of Him
who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no
one can work” (Jn. 9:4). The work Jesus was given to
do was one of redemption. “But when the fullness of
the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a
woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were
under the law, that we might receive the adoption as
sons” (Gal. 4:4, 5). Paul spoke of this work in his letter
to Titus 2:14 –
“who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us
from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own
special people, zealous for good works.” The idea of
redemption in the Old Testament takes its start from
the thought of property. From this start the word
"redemption" throughout the Old Testament is used in
the general sense of deliverance. God is the Re-
deemer of Israel in the sense that He is the Deliverer
of Israel. In the New Testament the idea of redemption
has more a suggestion of ransom. Men are held under
the curse of the law (Ga 3:13), or of sin itself (Ro 7:23
f). The Redeemer purchases their deliverance by of-
fering Himself as payment for their redemp-
tion” (ISBE). In the gospel of Mark Jesus acknowl-
edged that this was His work. In rebuking James and
John who were arguing over who would have the ideal
seats in the kingdom, Jesus said, “For even the Son of
Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give
His life a ransom for many” (Mk. 10:45). To ransom
means “to deliver a thing or person by paying the price
for which it is held captive.”
