The document describes a mobile app called Dealz For Realz being developed by a team of students to help grocery shoppers save money. The app allows users to compare prices of specific grocery items across local stores. In interviews, users indicated they would be willing to pay for the app and suggested additional features. The team's app maps out the user experience and interface. Developing the app proved challenging as it relies on real-time price data from stores. The team acquired the idea after being asked to develop an app related to food and shopping and their presentation was well-received.

7 Interesting Facts About Building Grocery Delivery Apps Techugo
Grocery delivery apps are mobile applications that allow users to order and purchase groceries from their local supermarkets or grocery stores. These apps typically offer a wide range of products, including fresh produce, meats, dairy products, and household items. Users can browse through the available products, add items to their virtual shopping cart, and then select a delivery time and location. The groceries are then delivered to the user's doorstep by a delivery driver. Some grocery delivery apps also offer pickup options, where the user can choose to pick up their groceries at the store instead of having them delivered.
These apps can be convenient for users who have busy schedules or difficulty getting to the store due to physical disabilities or transportation issues.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. Who? Anybody who shops at grocery stores.
What? Saves grocery store shoppers money.
When? Anytime.
Where? Local Grocery Stores.
Why? There are people who need to save money so we inform
shoppers on what the prices are at multiple stores on the
same item.
3. People might not know how much money they are losing
because there are many grocery stores that have the same
item with different prices at each store. This makes people
lose money.
4. How can we inform shoppers on potential savings when
shopping?
Focus Question
5. From the research that we collected from the interviews, we
learned that even if users were to pay money to use our app,
they would still save money when grocery shopping. Some
interviewees were willing to pay four dollars and more for our
app.
6. My team, the DFR Team, is developing a mobile app to help
grocery shoppers who want to save money be informed on
which grocery stores will save them the most money on
specific items.
7. Based off of the interviews, we learned that the users
save a lot of money when using our app and have
suggested multiple things to add to the app to
improve it. Some suggestions were to only include
stores that will pay us to be in our app and to include
a floor plan of each store so that the users know
where to get items in the store.

9. When we interviewed people most of them said that they
would like the chance to choose what stores that they want to
compare the prices of because having all of the stores would
make the app cramped and less useful because there are
many stores that people don’t go to. We made sure to include
this in our app to make it more organized and suitable for the
users. We also made sure to have a button that leads to the
homescreen on each screen of the app so that they can have
access to all parts of the app. You can access every part of the
app by clicking it’s button because each screen had it’s own
button. We made sure to do this so that the app would “flow”.
We also included a splash screen, so that we could advertise
our business while they are waiting for the app to open.
11. We learned that it is not very easy
to make an app. It is a very long
and frustrating process to go
through. Our app relies heavily on
data because we need to know the
prices for each item in a store and
we also need to be informed of
when it changes. We need this
information, so that we can keep
the users informed on the prices
by using a real time table showing
what the prices are of different
items at different stores. Every
time a price changes, we would
enter the new price and it would
automatically change on the user’s
table since it is in real time.
12. App Design Mock-up
We acquired this idea for the app when someone in our class
suggested that we make an app that involves food. That is
when we decided to make an app that compares the prices of
different items in a grocery store. We presented to people at
Seattle University who had the job to listen to pitches and
decide whether it is worthy to continure or not and they said
that we had a better presentation for them than most adults.
We got 1st place in our STEM Expo. Some direct competitors
that exist towards Dealz For Realz are Smoopa, RedLaser, and
PriceGrabber.
Editor's Notes
A title slide describing the name of the app, the team name and the names of team members and possibly a logo, if you have one
What is the background situation you are addressing? Describe the context users are experiencing.
Example:
Buzzer Buddiez:
Who? Students
What? Students are studying for exams
When? 7am
Where? Student dorm
Why? Late night cramming, student likely to oversleep
What specific problem do people encounter in that situation? Use the results from your user research
Examples:
Buzzer Buddiez: your alarm does not work and you are thus late for: school, work, exams, doctor etc
Transit: Many parents don’t speak English and their children have to translate the feedback that a teacher provides. When the feedback is negative students mistranslate.
What core question are you addressing with the app?
Examples:
Buzzer Buddiez: how can you avoid oversleeping?
Transit: how can negative teacher feedback be translated accurately?
Use your key insights statements from your findings during User Research to provide evidence that your app is solving a genuine problem in a different way for users.
Examples:
Buzzer Buddiez: you wake up to hit snooze/ switch off the alarm, but don’t get up. Friends and family i.e. social pressure can help to push you to actually get out of bed.
Transit: parent- teacher conferences are not open-ended conversations. You can map the key areas of negative feedback around attendance, behavior, results etc. to bridge the conversation between parents and teachers.
To introduce the judges to your team and the product, include your final one minute elevator pitch here.
Example:
- Buzzer Buddiez: Our team, [Buzzer Buddiez], is developing [a mobile app] to help [students] [who have studied late and are likely to oversleep because they hit snooze on their alarm clock] [to wake up on time with the help from friends and family]
